Join host Cali Van Zant  as she interviews Chris Temple, founder, editor, and publisher of The National Investor, for a detailed discussion on current market conditions and commodity opportunities. Temple shares his views on the risks of overvaluation in tech giants like NVIDIA, the potential for a stock market correction, and the importance of diversification into essential sectors. He highlights uranium market dynamics, with growing demand from new reactors and small modular reactors widening the supply-demand gap, alongside the recent Brookfield-Cameco deal boosting nuclear energy prospects. Temple also covers gold and silver market volatility, U.S. dollar index pressures, and U.S.-China trade tensions impacting rare earths and antimony. Policy insights include U.S. mining challenges in Minnesota, the need for tort reform, and models like Ambler Road and MP Materials. Promotional focus falls on select stock plays with strong fundamentals: U.S. Gold, Formation Metals, Tectonic, North Peak Resources, and Apollo Silver Corp—positioned as undervalued opportunities in development-stage mining. Temple advises raising cash amid speculation warnings and breadth deterioration, while emphasizing long-term potential in critical minerals, natural gas exports, and domestic supply chains. #ExploringMining #ChrisTemple #NationalInvestor #Uranium #Gold #Silver #MiningStocks #Commodities #InvestmentInsights #NuclearEnergy #CriticalMinerAbout Chris Temple For an incredible 45 years now, Chris has distinguished himself as one of the most provocative and accurate market pundits among his peers, and an especially prescient advisor who has called pretty much every significant market turn of the last four decades.

Interview with Mark Chalmers, President & CEO of Energy FuelsOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/energy-fuels-nyseuuuu-us-critical-minerals-production-hub-7503Recording date: 8th October 2025Energy Fuels represents a uniquely positioned opportunity in the critical minerals sector, combining operational uranium production generating positive cash flow with strategic development of rare earth and heavy mineral sands assets addressing acute Western supply chain vulnerabilities. The company recently validated this strategy through a $700 million convertible bond offering completed in one week with Goldman Sachs as sole bookrunner, oversubscribed six to seven times at a remarkably low 0.75% interest rate. The investment thesis centers on several compelling factors. First, Energy Fuels operates the only conventional uranium mill in the United States with existing permits and infrastructure capable of processing radioactive monazite ore. This creates a significant competitive moat that would require competitors years and hundreds of millions of dollars to replicate. The White Mesa Mill in Utah provides operational flexibility to process either uranium (240,000 pounds per month capacity) or rare earths depending on market conditions, allowing management to optimize revenue generation dynamically.Second, the uranium business is currently cash flow positive and ramping toward two million pounds of annual production from 100% owned mines. Management projects this uranium revenue will generate sufficient cash to fund all corporate expenses plus rare earth and heavy mineral sands development without requiring ongoing equity dilution. This self-funding model distinguishes Energy Fuels from development-stage competitors who must continuously access capital markets. The White Mesa Mill restarted processing Pinyon Plain ore in early August 2025 and will run "well into next year," providing visible near-term cash generation.Third, Energy Fuels' strategic focus on monazite processing provides access to heavy rare earths—specifically dysprosium, terbium, and samarium—that MP Materials' bastnäsite deposits lack. These heavy rare earths are essential for high-performance permanent magnets used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defense applications. Critically, heavy rare earth prices currently command premiums three to four times higher than Chinese alternatives, while neodymium-praseodymium prices have surged from $55 to $85-90 per kilogram, reflecting strong demand for non-Chinese supply.Fourth, the company has tangible near-term development opportunities rather than aspirational long-term projects. The Donald rare earths project in Australia is fully permitted, shovel-ready, with capital costs estimated at $300 million and exceptionally high grades of heavy rare earths. Phase 1 would produce approximately 7,000 tons per year of monazite. The Phase 2 expansion at White Mesa would create processing capacity comparable to Lynas. Multiple feasibility studies on Toliara (Madagascar), Donald, and White Mesa Phase 2 are expected by year-end, providing updated development economics.Fifth, partnerships demonstrate downstream integration progress. POSCO collaboration has advanced to producing sintered magnet blocks being incorporated into electric vehicles in 2025. The company has engaged former General Motors personnel to assist with metal, alloy, and magnet development, showing serious commitment to building integrated non-China supply chain capabilities. The macro context amplifies the opportunity. China controls approximately 70% of global rare earth production and nearly 90% of processing capacity, while the United States imports more than 90% of its uranium. Western governments view these dependencies as national security risks, particularly as clean energy transition, transportation electrification, and defense modernization drive unprecedented critical minerals demand.Energy Fuels offers investors operational cash generation today funding strategic positioning in materials where Western supply chain security commands significant price premiums, backed by existing infrastructure, proven execution capability, and exceptional recent market validation through favorable institutional financing.View Energy Fuels' company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/energy-fuelsSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Canada must raise its level of ambition to compete in today's rapidly shifting geoeconomic and geopolitical landscape. So far on the podcast, we've focused on how diversifying oil and gas exports can strengthen Canada's power and influence. This week, we turn our attention to another strategic sector — mining. Our guest this week is Photinie Koutsavlis, Vice President of Economic Affairs and Climate Change at the Mining Association of Canada. She joins us to discuss the current state of Canada's mining industry. Here are some of the questions that Jackie and Peter asked Photinie Koutsavlis:  How large is Canada's mining sector, and what are its main products? Since the January 2020 announcement of the Canada–U.S. Joint Action Plan on Critical Minerals, what progress has been made on the ground? Has investment and production grown — and if not, what are the main barriers? Content referenced in this podcast: The Hub.ca, “Peter Tertzakian: Even if Alberta gets a new pipeline, what is next for the oil sands?” (October 4, 2025)Please review our disclaimer at: https://www.arcenergyinstitute.com/disclaimer/ Check us out on social media: X (Twitter): @arcenergyinstLinkedIn: @ARC Energy Research Institute Subscribe to ARC Energy Ideas PodcastApple PodcastsAmazon MusicSpotify

Interview with George Bennett, CEO of Rainbow Rare EarthsRecording date: 26th September 2025Rainbow Rare Earths (LSE:RBW) is pioneering a revolutionary approach to rare earth element extraction that addresses both economic efficiency and Western supply chain independence. Led by CEO George Bennett, a seasoned executive with 16 years of investment banking experience and a proven track record of scaling mining operations, the company extracts valuable rare earth materials from phosphogypsum waste rather than traditional hard rock mining. The company's proprietary technology eliminates conventional mining costs including drilling, blasting, and crushing operations, resulting in projected EBITDA margins exceeding 75% and internal rates of return between 45-50%. "We've got no mining costs, we are extracting the RE out of phosphogypsum which is a waste residue," Bennett explains, highlighting the fundamental cost advantage over traditional rare earth projects.Rainbow operates two strategic assets: the flagship Phalaborwa project in South Africa, where the company holds 85% ownership with 35 million tons of high-grade material, and the Uberaba project in Brazil through a 50/50 joint venture with Mosaic, a $15 billion fertilizer company. Both projects leverage existing brownfield infrastructure and provide environmental benefits through waste remediation. The company has secured significant validation through a $50 million equity commitment from the US Development Finance Corporation, positioning the US government as a future project shareholder. This strategic backing, combined with recent floor pricing of $110/kg for neodymium and praseodymium established by MP Materials' Department of Defense contract, provides crucial market stability for Rainbow's revenue streams. With total capital requirements of $300 million and production targeted for 2027-2028, Rainbow is positioned to capitalize on surging demand from electric vehicles, defense applications, and the emerging robotics sector. The company addresses critical Western supply chain vulnerabilities while China controls 95% of global rare earth processing capacity, making Rainbow a compelling investment in the transition toward strategic mineral independence.View Rainbow Rare Earths' company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/rainbow-rare-earthsSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Interview with Tim Harrison, Managing Director of Ionic Rare EarthsOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/ionic-rare-earths-asxixr-us-attracted-to-magnet-recycler-7488Recording date: 2nd September 2025The rare earth metals market has entered a new era following China's April 2025 export restrictions on seven critical rare earth elements, creating unprecedented opportunities for alternative suppliers. Australian-listed Ionic Rare Earth (ASX:IXR) has emerged as a strategic beneficiary of this supply chain disruption through its advanced magnet recycling technology.China's export ban demonstrated its monopolistic control over materials essential for modern technology and defense applications, immediately creating supply shortages and price volatility. Ionic Rare Earth's Managing Director Tim Harrison reports the company has been "inundated on requests to access the dysprosium and terbium" from their Belfast demonstration plant, with dysprosium commanding three times Chinese quoted prices in European markets. The geopolitical catalyst has triggered massive government and corporate investment in supply chain security. The US Department of Defense invested $400 million in MP Materials, establishing a $110/kg floor price for neodymium-praseodymium, effectively doubling available prices to non-Chinese producers. Apple followed with a $500 million investment in recycling infrastructure, signaling corporate recognition of supply chain vulnerabilities.Ionic Rare Earth's competitive advantage lies in its proprietary recycling process that produces high-purity separated oxides using 85% less capital than traditional mining. The technology focuses on separating four elements representing 85-90% of rare earth supply chain value, enabling rapid deployment across multiple jurisdictions without mining permits or social license challenges. With comprehensive patent protection, strategic partnerships providing feedstock access through EMR, and government support across the US, UK, and Europe, Ionic Rare Earth is positioned to capitalize on the structural shift toward recycling-based supply chains. The European Critical Raw Materials Act mandates 25% of rare earth supply from recycling by 2030, creating additional policy tailwinds for the company's expansion strategy.View Ionic Rare Earths' company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/ionic-rare-earths-ltd

In this deep-dive episode, Ray Powell and Jim Carouso are joined by Matthew Zolnowski, former Special Advisor at the U.S. Department of Defense and President of Greyfriars LLC, for an expert exploration of critical minerals and rare earth elements in the context of U.S.-China strategic competition. As tensions escalate in the Indo-Pacific, they examine why these "rocks" are essential building blocks for both military weapon systems and the civilian economy.Critical Minerals vs. Rare Earths: Understanding the DifferenceMatt breaks down the distinction between critical minerals (50+ commodities spanning the periodic table from antimony to zirconium) and rare earth elements (those mysterious bottom rows of the periodic table you never had to learn). He explains China's dominant position in heavy rare earth processing, particularly for permanent magnets used in defense applications, while noting that light rare earths like cerium and lanthanum—used in petroleum refining and glass polishing—remain more accessible from domestic sources like California's Mountain Pass mine.Stockpiling, Strategy, and Supply Chain VulnerabilitiesThe discussion reveals concerning gaps in U.S. defense procurement, including how electronic components bypass normal sourcing requirements, allowing Chinese rare earth magnets into submarines through hard drives, while direct magnet purchases require allied sourcing. Zolnowski details the $2 billion stockpile expansion and explains how stockpiles "buy time" rather than widgets—bridging the gap between crisis onset and Defense Production Act responses.Industrial Policy vs. Market ForcesRay and Jim probe the tension between America's traditional free-market approach and emerging industrial policy, examining deals like the MP Materials contract with its $150 million heavy rare earth separation line and EBITDA guarantees. Matt argues this represents uncharted territory, fundamentally breaking with traditional government-industry relationships as the U.S. grapples with China's strategic dominance in processing and price manipulation.Australia, Allies, and Alternative StrategiesThe hosts explore why U.S.-Australia collaboration on critical minerals has remained limited despite Australia's "periodic table on a plate" capabilities, with Zolnowski noting regulatory barriers that only recently opened Defense Production Act eligibility to Australian companies. He advocates for commodity-specific strategies rather than broad critical minerals policies, suggesting successful models like heavy mineral sands operations that diversify beyond single-commodity dependence.

Nick Hodge – Buying The Dip Has Been Working In Gold, Silver, Copper, Rare Earths, Uranium, and Lithium Stocks

Nick Hodge, Co-Owner of Digest Publishing and editor of Foundational Profits and Hodge Family Office, joins me for a longer-format discussion on and the macroeconomic themes and fundamental drivers that that are continuing to push the purchasing power of the US dollar down and most other asset classes higher.  Nick shares how he has been successfully “buying the dip” in gold, silver, copper, rare earths, uranium, and lithium stocks.   We start off reviewing how the US fiscal policy and the Fed's upcoming monetary policy is leading to a weaker US dollar, which has been a key tailwind to US equities, cryptos, and the commodities sectors. Nick points out that the “Fed is not your friend,” and that the coming rate cuts will be further debasing the dollar's purchasing power, which is going to send real assets higher in response.   We review the impacts of the back-to-back Biden and Trump administration large fiscal policy bills, that increased the national debt burden, which has been a boon to the precious metals sector, as a hedge against fiscal malfeasance and as a way to protect purchasing power.    Many of the government fiscal bills passed the last few years have had provisions in them for accelerating the development of nuclear power infrastructure and uranium mining, and they have provisions included to fund boosting domestic supplies and refinement of critical minerals like rare earths, antimony, tungsten, copper,  lithium, and many other strategic critical minerals. We discuss how all this attention at the federal level in the US and in many nations abroad is bringing in new investors to resource investing.   With regards to the precious metals, Nick has continued building up positions in quality explorers through private placements, as well as buying larger companies with exposure to rising gold and silver prices on pullbacks.  He noted the example of picking up a position in Royal Gold, Inc. (NASDAQ: RGLD), during the corrective move that played out after their announcement of the acquisition of Sandstorm Gold.   Next we got into the longer-term structural supply demand fundamentals underlying the copper market, and that it has been in an upward trajectory for the last handful of years.  When the recent volatility from the initial reaction to the copper tariffs to the reversal back down once there was more clarity around what precisely would get tariffs, Nick took the opportunity to exit his domestic copper producer position in Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (NYSE: FCX). He chose instead to then position back outside of the US via buying the dip in Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN) (OTCQX: IVPAF), after it pulled down on some short-duration challenges.  He also flagged his recent private placement into the earlier-stage prospect generator, Kincora Copper Limited (TSXV: KCC) (ASX: KCC), with exploration properties looking for copper and gold porphyries in Australia.    The conversation then turns to growing generalist interest in the rare earths sector in particular, especially after the recent Department of Defense investment into MP Materials Corp. (NYSE: MP) as a key stakeholder, but also providing them a floor on their Neodymium products, and agreeing to be a buyer future magnet production.   Then, shortly thereafter, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) made a $500M investment into MP Materials to accelerate and help fund the future development of a permanent magnet recycling plant in Texas.   Nick points to CoTec Holdings Corp. (TSXV:CTH)(OTCQB:CTHCF), as another company poised to start recycling permanent magnets, also in Texas. Additionally, he highlights the heavy rare earth production capacity increasing from Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX: EFR) (NYSE American: UUUU). We reviewed the news out this week of the MOU between Energy Fuels and Vulcan Elements, focused on ex-China high-purity "light" and "heavy" rare earth oxides for production of rare earth permanent magnets in the United States, using high-purity NdPr and Dy oxides refined in Utah.   This transitioned the discussion to the volatile year, to the upside and downside, in the nuclear and uranium stocks, and Nick pointed out the good opportunities to buy the dip in the sector throughout this year on pullbacks. In addition to the positive response from the multiple executive orders and fiscal bills passed surrounding nuclear power and the nuclear fuel cycle, Nick highlights that companies like Uranium Energy Corp (NYSE American: UEC) and Anfield Energy Inc. (TSX.V: AEC) (OTCQB: ANLDF) were both approved for federal fast-track permitting.   Nick also highlights his recent participation in the private placement financing for North Shore Uranium Ltd. (TSXV:NSU), and how he's done well with this management team in the past on other companies, why he finds the current project fundamentals compelling.   Wrapping up we got into how even the lithium space has presented a “buy the dip” moment recently, and that both the underlying metals price and the related equities have bounced and started a trajectory higher. Nick revisits the case for a company he's done quite well in during the prior cycle, Patriot Battery Metals Inc. (TSX: PMET) (ASX: PMT) (OTCQX: PMETF), as well as the value proposition for a new private placement he just participated in with Lion Rock Resources Inc. (TSXV: ROAR) (OTCQB: LRRIF).   Click here to follow Nick's analysis and publications over at Digest Publishing

The plan, which amounts to almost 50% of Ørsted's market cap, is a desperation move driven by the forces of reality and President Donald Trump's no-nonsense energy policies. Ørsted's stock took a nosedive in the wake of Monday's announcement, cratering as much as 31.2% in Copenhagen trading, erasing billions in value overnight. The panic comes as the company is scrambling to fund its Sunrise Wind project — a 924-megawatt eyesore off New York's coast — and shore up another 8.1 gigawatts of planned capacity through 2027. Ørsted says the cash infusion is a direct response to what it delicately calls “material adverse developments” in the U.S. market. Translated to plain English, this means Ørsted, whose normal business model would have involved selling a large minority share to investors to raise needed capital, has been unable to find any buyers as Trump's energy policy revolution takes hold. In mid-July, the Department of Defense struck a multi-billion-dollar deal with MP Materials, America's sole rare earth miner, guaranteeing a minimum price of $110 per kilogram for neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) oxide. That price floor, which is nearly double the current China-based market rate of around $60/kg, aims to incentivize domestic production of the super-strong magnets used in EV motors, wind turbines, and defense systems. Officials and analysts describe the move as a game-changer for the industry. By establishing a higher Western pricing benchmark, the U.S. hopes to offset China's long-standing tactic of undercutting prices to maintain its dominance. “This benchmark is now a new center of gravity in the industry that will pull prices up,” notes Adamas Intelligence, adding that it could bolster non-Chinese producers globally.   Source: zerohedge.com

In this podcast interview, Tavi Costa from Crescat Capital discusses the emerging bullish cycle in the metals and mining sector, highlighting several key macro trends and investment opportunities. Costa believes we are in the early stages of a long-term commodity cycle, with gold leading the way and other metals poised to follow. The discussion centers on three primary pillars: energy sources, infrastructure, and raw materials. Costa argues that the increasing electricity demand, driven by artificial intelligence and onshoring trends, will create significant opportunities in metals and mining. He emphasizes the critical need for metals to support emerging technological and infrastructure developments, particularly in the United States. A pivotal moment Costa highlights is the U.S. Department of Defense's 15% stake in MP Materials, which he sees as a recognition of strategic material vulnerabilities. This investment signals a potential shift in how governments view critical resources and mining infrastructure. Costa also discusses the potential macroeconomic trajectory, suggesting two potential paths: a deflationary shock or an inflationary era followed by a highly efficient, deflationary period driven by AI. He believes we are currently in an inflationary buildup phase that will eventually transition to increased productivity and efficiency. Regarding currencies, Costa anticipates a long-term decline in the U.S. dollar versus other currencies, driven by significant fiscal and trade deficits. He sees this as part of a broader "domino effect" of macro trends, where acceptance of risk gradually moves through different asset classes and markets. The interview concludes with Costa identifying the exploration and development phase of the mining industry, alongside emerging markets, as potentially the most asymmetric investment opportunities of his career. He encourages investors to pay attention to the interconnected nature of these macro trends and the gradual rotation of capital across different sectors and geographies.

“The entire theme undercurrent in this [recent] conference was national defense. We, the United States, are going to re-industrialize because we want to be self-sufficient in critical industries, be they national defense like drones or A.I. or critical materials like battery production, and I would argue that that narrative of national defense has now permeated the junior mining and the mining world as well,” Chris Berry, president of House Martin Partners, shares in this MSE episode. The discussion with Chris revolves around the U.S. Department of Defense's investment in MP Materials and its implications for the rare earth and lithium markets. Chris highlights the significant shift towards national defense as a driver in the mining sector, the intricacies of rare earth pricing, and the potential of Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE). The episode also touches on the evolving narrative from net zero to national defense and the critical role of public-private partnerships in reestablishing the U.S. as a dominant player in critical metals. America will, once again, build a DOMINANT Copper Industry. THIS IS, AFTER ALL, OUR GOLDEN AGE! Trump Administration Takes Stake in Rare Earths Firm In Move To End China's Control  The Trump administration is deepening its effort to sever U.S. reliance on Chinese rare earth supplies, committing $400 million in equity financing to MP Materials Corp. as part of a broader plan to expand domestic production of rare earth magnets used in advanced weapons systems and industrial technologies. The Department of Defense will acquire a newly issued class of preferred stock in MP Materials, convertible into common shares, along with warrants to purchase additional equity. Following the transaction, which is expected to close Friday, the Pentagon will become the company's largest shareholder, with a potential stake of about 15%, according to MP Materials. The deal also includes a 10-year commitment by the U.S. government to support pricing and demand for domestically produced rare earth magnets. The Defense Department has guaranteed the purchase of 100 percent of the output from a planned magnet manufacturing facility—dubbed the “10X” plant—at a minimum price of $110 per kilogram for neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr), a key rare earth alloy used in missile guidance systems, fighter jets, and electric motors. The U.S. imported roughly 70 percent of its rare earths from China in 2023, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The push to reshore the supply chain gained urgency during the trade war launched by President Trump, when Beijing threatened to restrict rare earth exports.
