Ich denke, Sie würden mir zustimmen, wenn ich behaupte, dass jeder in seinem Leben schon einmal vergleichbaren Situationen ausgeliefert war, in denen man orientierungslos war, sei es durch finanzielle Krisen, Probleme am Arbeitsplatz oder zerstrittene Beziehungen.Wie gut wäre es, in solchen Lebenslagen ein Licht zu haben, das einen Weg durch die Krise zeigt. Vor mehr als 40 Jahren entschied sich Josefs Vater, den konventionellen Weg der Landwirtschaft zu verlassen und setzte stattdessen auf Schafmilch – damals noch ein völlig unerschlossenes Gebiet. Mit harter Arbeit und unerschütterlichem Glauben an seine Vision schuf er die Basis für die Marke Eisl, die heute weit über die Grenzen Salzburgs bekannt ist. Im idyllischen Seegut Eisl am Wolfgangsee führt Josef Eisl eine landwirtschaftliche Tradition fort, die seit über 500 Jahren in der Familie liegt. Dass betrifft vor allem teure und neue Motorräder, aber auch ältere Maschinen sind nicht sicher. Schon gar nicht vor Profis mit entsprechendem Werkzeug. Aber sollte man deshalb auf sämtliche Sicherungsmaßnahmen verzichten? This International Women's Day, we are turning our attention to the plight of Palestinian women and children. So far, more than 30,000 people have been killed in the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the majority of which have been women and children. The UN and Human Rights Watch have called it a “war on women”, with an average of 63 women killed every single day, mostly in their own homes. There are also around 50,000 pregnant women in Gaza, with 180 per day giving birth in unimaginable conditions. To talk about the current situation in Palestine and the difficulties of getting aid to those who need it most, Róisín Ingle is joined by Fikr Shalltoot, a Gazan woman and director with Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP). We also hear from MayKay Geraghty, musician and member of the Irish Artists for Palestine collective, who, on March 15th, will release a stunning cover of Sinead O'Connors ‘Black Boys on Mopeds', to raise much needed funds for the Lajee Centre in the Aida refugee camp in the West Bank. In New York City, a concerning trend has emerged involving unregistered mopeds used by migrants for food delivery jobs. The NYPD recently impounded 80 such mopeds outside the Roosevelt and Watson Hotel shelters, spotlighting a complex issue intertwining illegal migration and underground economic activities. Many migrants, unable to legally work due to the protracted asylum process, are resorting to food delivery as a source of income. However, they face challenges such as renting mopeds and digital identities for app-based delivery platforms, since they lack valid work authorization and social security numbers. This situation has given rise to an underground market in Manhattan, where migrants pay to use others' Uber Eats accounts and scooters. The cost of scooter rentals is high, and many migrants are left with minimal earnings after covering these expenses. This is the All Local 5am update for 9/11.

Our conversation for Traffic Safety Thursday was live in the studio with Lt. Warren Gosnell from Frederick County Sheriff's Office. It was not without it's glitches: the computer wouldn't play my intro music so Goz played HIS intro music from back in the day. But, as I listened to the recording, the mic didn't pick it up either. Regardless, it was as always, a great conversation full of solid information. Goz explained how compliance issues can spill over into other public safety issues. We talked about the wider consequences during this drought of tossing a lit cigarette from a moving vehicle or parking a running car on dry grass.  I asked about moped laws and regulations, which were much more complicated than I realized. The bonus was that he told a story about a (not so) high-speed chase with a moped that turned into an accident, then a foot chase, and ended with a DUI.
