As we start to open to the idea of getting back to normal this year it makes me think of all of my favorite places and Chicago is near the top of the list. It's a city that makes me smile realizing I have only scratched the surface. And for me Pipeworks is one of the beers that remind me of those adventures. We catch up with the man who brought Ninja v Unicorn to life to learn what he has been up to stay together during all of this time with his family, the band he is playing in and some of his most recent projects. The man with the beard is a genuine good dude who is appreciative of all he has and the work that he is doing in following that dream. Jason is good people and I think you will enjoy our catch up and learning what's next for Ink and Lead Designs. I can't wait to get back to hanging with friends and beers in 3D!! Sooner than later, that's for sure. Be safe.
In April's mini episode, Tony & Eddie talk a tiny bit about Escape from Tarkov, but mostly just about work, life and of course booze. Tony brings a Pipeworks Brewing double hopped IPA with oats to the show. (Yes, oats). And Eddie goes against tradition and brings a hard seltzer. It's an odd mini, but what else is new?

It's opposite day here at Pub Dread and boy is it a treat. Not only has Sam got a more gruesome story than Kat, but she has also somehow found the world's first stout that Kat is willing to admit she loves. This week Kat's life is changed by Pistachio Jones Stout from Pipeworks Brewing Company, and the girls bring you an equally wonderful treat with their melodious, raspy voices. Sam jumps straight into the macabre with the disturbing history of the Danvers State Hospital in Massachusetts, where the mentally insane were criminally mistreated and the history of the town seems to taint the present in the form of a modern murder. Kat takes the stage and begs the question: are ghosts real, or just a manifestation of the human sub-conscience? The Philip Experiment set out to prove that humans can create spirits just with force of will. But did the Owen group create a spirit, or conjure something much worse? Widely known as one of the best matches of all time, we paired Pipeworks Brewing Company's Blood Of The Unicorn with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart from Wrestlemania 13! Find out why in this first episode!
We may not run silent; we may not run deep. However, this week we’re coming at you with They Come Unseen, a game for 2-5 players (recommended at 4) that sees a team of submarines working to blow up a team of destroyers’ naval bases. Two players play behind a screen, much like the DM in Dungeons & Dragons, while the other team plays out in the open. Resources like fuel and weapons must be monitored, consumed, and replenished, and each team is out to destroy the other. The subs win by taking out naval bases, and the destroyers win by keeping their bases intact while hunting down and bombing the subs. This week in beer we’ve got Junior drinking ControversiALE by Short’s Brewing Company, Schnell drinks Blood of the Unicorn by Pipeworks Brewing Company, Nelson has Tokyo Sauna from Karben4, and Teej keeps the Always Sunny theme rolling with Fight Milk from Odd Side Ales.

Pipeworks is a special brewery for me and my love of Chicago. The Ninja v Unicorn beer and label are part of that craft beer discovery that makes me love this project and speaking with Jason helped to reiterate that. He has fun and is doing something he loves. His studio, his band and his family are all important to him too. No egos were present in the making of this week's podcast episode and I was his first. We were gentle, but no cuddling. I look forward to the next Ink and Lead Designs inspired mini art show in my fridge.
