“If one is engaged in the advancement of spiritual knowledge, there will be so many insults and much dishonor from others. This is expected because material nature is so constituted. Even a boy like Prahlada, who, only five years old, was engaged in the cultivation of spiritual knowledge, was endangered when his father became antagonistic to his devotion.” (Shrila Prabhupada, Bhagavad-gita, 13.8-12 Purport)

Whenever people ask me what studio to check out in Austin, Texas, I always recommend Practice Yoga on the East side. Rey Cardenas is the co-founder of Practice which recently celebrated it's 10 year anniversary. If you follow Rey or Practice on Instagram, you'll see he shares a lot about a unique take on philosophy from Rudolf Steiner, that I haven't seen from other yoga teachers. We talk about: - Rey's journey of co-founding a yoga studio in Austin, Texas, after facing challenges with his previous teaching position. Rey shared his experience of transitioning from being a professional poker player to becoming a yoga teacher and the process of finding a location for his studio. - The process of opening a yoga studio, including finding a vacant building, partnering with someone who had complementary skills, utilizing social media marketing, creating memes(!) and choosing a donation-based model. - Rey's process of finding a more balanced approach to yoga philosophy, moving away from an indulgent sort of philosophy towards a more grounded perspective that Rey found in Rudolf Steiner's work. - How to integrate different perspectives and practices into yoga teachings. They also explored the connection between Western and Eastern spirituality and the importance of awakening the chakras. - Rey gives a great introduction to the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, including his embodiment system, and the importance of the thought realm in human freedom. They also discussed how these concepts can be integrated into yoga and are integrated into the teacher trainings at Practice Yoga in Austin. Imagine a room full of preschoolers engaged in an activity. The teacher announces it's Circle Time. This shift from play to stillness takes a lot of effort and skill for these young children. As parents and educators, it is our job to support children in developing these skills and helping them learn how to control both their physical and emotional responses. But how? In this episode of Mindful Conversation with KAY, Kristi and Kelly dive deeper into the concept of opposites to teach self-control and self-regulation in children. Welcome to Episode #60 of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast! My conversation with Lianik Borlasca, a yoga teacher from El Salvador, was multidimensional as we took a deep dive into the spiritual understanding of Jnana and Raja yoga. I hope that this conversation made you curious about the paradigms that exist around yoga, and what we can do to shift them. If you're looking to tune into a podcast episode that is all about all the dimensions of yoga then this is the conversation for you. Tell me more about Lianik Borlasca Lianik Borlasca is a yoga teacher from El Salvador. She is the yoga studio owner of Peace & Yoga in San Salvador. Her passion has been Jñāna and Raja Yoga and the study of the self as the ultimate knowledge. She is also a teacher of Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and is a Reiki Master. Her goal is to integrate everything to teach yoga from different perspectives, to break paradigms around the practice. She has organized International Yoga Day in El Salvador for many years, and has introduced yoga to the public in El Salvador by teaching yoga on several different TV channels in El Salvador. What to expect in the Yoga In El Salvador episode of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast During the course of our conversation, Lianik wove in so many insights about the multidimensionality of the practice of yoga. She defined Raja Yoga and Jnana Yoga and then expanded upon them, why they are the paths of yoga she has been drawn to. She explained how the physical dimension of yoga, is the most limited of the human being. That's why the asana practice is so accessible to everyone, and why it's only the first layer of yoga. It's only one of the branches— there are seven others! Lianik shared beautiful thoughts around all the dimensions around the practice and path of yoga. For the skimmers - What's in the yoga in El Salvador episode? The paradigms around yoga Yoga is a path and the destination at the same time Raja Yoga and Jnana Yoga Limitations exist only in your mind The physical dimension is the most limited of the human being Favorite Quote From Lianik Borlasca “Yoga is a path and the destination at the same time.” Connect with Lianik Borlasca https://www.instagram.com/peaceyogasv/ https://www.facebook.com/PeaceYogaElSalvador https://linktr.ee/peaceyogasv Want more? https://masterfesto.comhttps://www.facebook.com/masterfestoThis is day six of the special bonus Chakra meditations. Chakras energy affects the physical, emotional, and spiritual. It is very important to our health to keep our Chakras balanced, clear and clean. Today we are working with the Throat Chakra. This is the first of the spiritual chakras, the spiritual bridge. This Chakra helps us move up to higher Chakras. It's all about communication, speaking and listening. Main color is blue, and the element is sound. The purpose of the Throat Chakra is to create through speaking; speak into existence. If you do not want certain things in your life, stop working so hard at creating them; stop thinking about them. The Throat Chakra is communicating everything you want, and you will get whatever you want, but when you get it, you might not want it. When life becomes hectic, we might create something we don't want. If this happens say, “Stop, wait a minute. Enough! I am having a new thought.” Then create a new thought. The Throat Chakra Represents Wisdom, Happiness, Awareness, Forgiveness, being present, in the moment. Don't carry negative thoughts into the next day. Life becomes complicated because we are always trying to get something out of it, rather than just living life.Stress and worrying causes imbalance to the Throat Chakra. Listen to your chakra. If it squeaks, moans or groans, handle it, fix it, and bring it back to balance. If you let the problem remain there, it will grow. The problem is NEVER out there. Here are some practices you can take on that will help balance your Throat Chakra. I will include these practices in the description part of this episode.1. Do the Throat Chakra Meditation for the first seven days of each month until you feel a complete inner-balance.2. Visualization daily as a practice. Make it a spiritual habit. 3. Improve your communication skills. Take public speaking classes. Join speaking groups. 4. Practice Yoga. The best pose for the Throat Chakra is the camel pose.5. Breathing exercises helps a lot. 6. Maintain an unrushed attitude, slow down. Fall asleep slowly and wake up slowly. 7. Create a sanctuary, a sacred place to meditate, visualize, read, and relax.8. Listen to music every day. 9. Sing in the shower, in the car, hum while you work. The song that comes to mind is indicative of your psyche. That song has a special message for you. Stop for a moment and think about the words. What is the song saying to you?10. Chanting and drumming are great practices for this Chakra.11. Keep a feelings journal. 12. Wear the color blue, blue flowers, just seeing the color blue will help awaken the throat chakra.13. Wind chimes and recordings of nature are perfect.14. Have a day of silence. 15. Shoulder and neck massage is perfect to release tension in this area.16. This Is The Most Important! Practice listening. Listen between the words; observe body language. Be a Good listener. The word “yoga” means yoke. It implies being yoked, not with the “true God,” but a deity named Brahman, described as ultimate reality in Hinduism, an impersonal cosmic force. Most westerners consider yoga just a trendy way to get in shape, a low impact exercise regimen. But Yoga and Hinduism cannot be separated. It is a door to great, spiritual deception. Learn the seven reasons you should never practice yoga. This will open your eyes!

Director of Workforce Development at the Texas Department of Transportation, Chris Young oversees employee development and training. Even though he identifies as a lifelong learner, Chris hadn't considered yoga to be something he would do, until he unknowingly started a stretching routine after a back injury. Today, Chris still uses – and teaches, of course -- yoga to support physical recovery and manage stress. Learn how TxDOT employees have adopted a “flex and stretch” morning routine and how you can practice yoga for your fitness level, your own clothing and environment. Chris also shares how we can all use our breath to reset our nervous systems after we encounter “email apnea” and other stressful moments. Q: Should Christians practice yoga? Yoga's origin in pagan hinduism, yet many Christians practice it everyday. Is yoga a form of pagan worship that should be avoided, or is it personal preference? Is this comparable to Daniel's refusal to be defiled when he avoided the king's meat, is it 'legalism' to denounce yoga? Many churches offers yoga within their walls and this continues to grow. Are we headed down a dangerous path?Call or text us your question at 615-281-9694 or email at question@michaelincontext.com.

Is it possible to show up fully for yourself in mom life? During this episode of the Vision Driven Mom podcast Suzanne “Zan” Ballantyne and I talk about what yoga really is and what it means to bring your yoga off the mat and into mom life. We talk about:*Yoga is meditation with movement.*The practice of yoga is about your relationship with your body, with others and with life.*You have to have a relevant practice that's meaningful to you in order to show up fully for your practice.*Using your range of comfort to take small steps toward your intentions in yoga and in life.Guest Resources: Suzanne fell in love with the word "practice" while in graduate school, and then gradually and gently espoused the idea in her own life which resulted in a path of practice that includes Yoga and Meditation. Both of these are fundamentally practice-based sciences, the principles of which Suzanne teaches in her Yoga classes; offers in her ecclectic meditation teachings; and introduces to her Coaching clients so they can begin to apply them in their own lives and personal practices.Website: https://www.simplypractice.net/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/simply_practice/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/WellnessWithYogaFree Yoga classes: https://landing.mailerlite.com/webforms/landing/o5j1h7*If you enjoyed this episode, I'd love to hear about your biggest takeaway. Within each area of focus you will have designated micro tasks that accomplish the overall vision of that particular area of focus you are in on your loop. Each area of focus has a clear designated time to be spent, it is imperative that you stay within your decided time frame. You can adjust your time frame at any time except during your loop. If you cannot seem to take action in a particular area of your Activity Loop then spend the time breaking down your goals in that area into the smallest micro task possible. You create your loop, you determine your time frames and you determine your success. Write out your Micro Task Activity Loop on a 3x5 card and read it often. Spend a lot of time determining your areas of focus, make sure they are areas that will bring you happiness and take you toward your life goals. I love to get up at 4:45 am every morning and start my day. I will always cherish the peace and serenity of the morning. During my morning run I listen to my affirmations on repeat. My Warrior Activity Loop starts right after my hour morning routine is done. I start by reviewing my journal from the previous days and writing any thoughts I have had in the morning so far. I then work on the book I am writing for 20 minutes, then work on my podcast for 30 minutes, then TikTok for 10 minutes, I check my Etsy and Amazon Accounts for 10 minutes, Add items for sale on my site, Etsy, or Amazon 30 minutes. I then respond to client emails and make sales calls for 30 minutes. This takes me to a little after 8 am, that's when I start a different Warrior Activity Loop. I take care of administrative aspects of my businesses for 30 minutes, work on my podcast for 30 min and complete one micro task from my Micro Task 3x5 card. Keep a journal every day Always focus on raising your level! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/alexander-trefney7/message
