For Part II in our series, Ken welcomes political activist and friend of the podcast, Darcy McKenzie. Darcy has been actively involved in local politics from her home in Mendota Heights, just south of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Darcy gives us the backroom story of the selection of her Governor, Tim Walz, to be Kamala Harris' running mate in her pursuit of the Presidency. Like our friend Betsey Newenhuyse, Darcy was actively engaged in the campaign to encourage Harris to choose Sec. of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg. She shares her personal meeting with Sec. Pete at a local round table just after the now infamous debate (Biden v. Trump). She also relates her meetings with Jill Biden and other political notables. While she shares her team's disappointment over Pete, her enthusiasm for Gov. Tim Walz is not dampened. Around Minnesota, it's often said, “He's not the DEI candidate, he's the REI Candidate.” Darcy gives us a close look at the Governor's reputation in Minnesota - and celebrates the new Democrat ticket. Darcy is a proud military Mom. Her activism is rooted in a deep love of country, and pride in her sons and her Governor who is now along with the Presidential Nominee bringing joy, hope, and excitement to the nation - and the world. Chase Oliver is the Libertarian Party's 2024 nominee for U.S. President. In this episode, we get his take on solving the border crisis, boosting the economy, and managing the threat of China and other adversaries.“Eventually, a lot of these countries do end up overthrowing their terrible, autocratic governments, and when they look for an example of what they want to go to, we need to be that shining beacon for them to look at. This is what free speech can give us: the most prosperous and powerful economy in the world, because ideas are allowed to spread,” says Mr. Oliver.“I fear what happens if we stop being the best and most free and prosperous nation in the world, because that's what will allow China to truly ascend, is if we step away from our principles and our values. If we hold true to those, there's nothing China can do to stop us because we're going to be a more powerful economy, a more powerful military, and a more powerful cultural force around the world.”Mr. Oliver proposes what he calls a “21st century Ellis Island” in order to streamline the process of migration into the United States.“99 percent of people just want to come here and work, get a job, make some money, and possibly take that money back home with them to their family during the offseason if they're in agriculture. We need to facilitate that through a 21st-century Ellis Island that basically says, if you're coming here, come through a port of entry. Submit yourself to a background check and health check to make sure you're all good to go if you are coming, and get to work. When we do that, we streamline the process of getting those peaceful workers right through the port of entry. And we can really laser focus our law enforcement on those who are trafficking human beings for the purposes of labor or sexual exploitation, or for those who bring fentanyl, in order to basically sell it as Xanax,” explains Mr. Oliver.Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

The Republican National Convention has officially kicked off in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the Republican base has gathered to rally around former President Trump as their party's 2024 Presidential Nominee. Days after surviving an assassination attempt while speaking at a Pennsylvania rally, President Trump has prevailed as a pillar of strength—an image that a presidential nominee seeking re-election could only hope for ahead of their party's convention. Meanwhile, on the other side of the aisle calls for President Biden to step down are being overshadowed, granting the President a slim opportunity to reassess how to move forward with his campaign. FOX News Chief Political Anchor Karl Rove examines how the events of the Republican National Convention will fair for former President Trump and responds to growing whispers that the 2024 Election is now the former President's to lose.
