This week Bruce and Wayne have special guests Pac Manson and P-Wig. P-Wig is a musical artist and Pac is in charge of the record label and producing P-Wig's music (Gutta Mouth Records). Both Bruce and Pac have known P-Wig since 2009, as P-Wig progressed in his music career he partnered with Pac and joined his label, “Gutta Mouth Records”. In February P-Wig and Pac are going on tour in DC and all along the Northeastern states. P-Wig discusses his journey in the music industry and unveils the greatness within himself and each other. A topic P-Wig explains is how the people within the industry interact and how he deals with the stereotypes involved in his field. Bruce asks about their goals for the next tour and what they hope to achieve with their new music. Overall they hope to market the label and continue to make connections. Later, Pac discusses the ability to sell yourself or your product through word of mouth. A personal example he uses is his Joker mask; it helps leave a lasting impression. Towards the latter half of the program, Wayne and Pac talk about being leaders, writing down goals, and using that to pursue excellence. This episode deals with confronting stereotypes and is very informative about the inner workings of the music industry. Say hello to the multi-talented Chris Kaos. Born and raised in Boston, MA. Chris had spent his childhood life performing and competing as a Breakdancer. After years of dancing to the same old music, he decided to start producing his own music that he and his team could dance to. After a friend convinced him to play his music live at his High School dance (circa 2008), he then immediately grew fond of the art of DJing. Fast forward to today, and he still is tearing up dance floors. This time, from behind the DJ booth. We had the pleasure of interviewing BEGINNERS over Zoom video!Difficult times can make or break people. As a society, we've been going through doomsday fatigue, whether since the pandemic started, the Trump administration took office, or before that even. Some people have been struggling more than others for a long time. On top of it all, the rent is too damn high, our rights are falling away, the world is on fire (literally and figuratively), and it feels like everything is entirely out of control. The tiniest thing could be that last straw that separates any of us from our sanity. For BEGINNERS, the alt-pop project of L.A.-based Samantha Barbera, one way to deal with those feelings of despair made itself abundantly clear: say f*ck it. The extra indignant sting on top of everything inspired almost a superhero origin story, whether she's the hero or an agent of chaos to be seen. In addition to all that, Barbera went through a breakup during what felt like the implosion of the world we'd known while watching her rights as a queer woman shrink. Instead of imploding, she got into the studio. And that's how BEGINNERS' If the World Is Ending EP was conceived: as an explosion. Barbera is always writing songs, and putting this record together came after a steady stream of collaborations in studios all over the West Coast. The lead single, "I Hate That I Love Brooklyn," is a raucous anthem full of spikey punk rock guitar that represents the spikey feeling of a toxic relationship—with a person, with the news, with a whole damn city or country. The song started with a hat. No, literally. Producer/Artist and frequent collaborator Matias Mora (K. Flay, Broods, Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn,) had a blinged-out hat with the word Brooklyn on it and convinced everyone that it had to be where the song was set.For Barbera, collaboration is the key to success. She co-produced and co-wrote all of the songs, but those intimate moments of sharing her personal stories with her collaborators helped tap into a sense of connection that brings her art to life. Over eight months, the World is Ending EP was written and recorded in various home studios. BEGINNERS is a DIY project with punk roots spanning multiple scenes and genres. It has always been fully independent with no record label or advances, but with those all-important master rights and creative control. The project has seen massive success in the world of music syncs. Disney used the song "Start a Riot" in the trailer for the 2021animated feature Raya and the Last Dragon. It promoted outreach and interest from new fans worldwide who searched the song on the internet and commented en masse.Apple also tapped BEGINNERS for three ad campaigns, and New Balance had the band perform in a commercial alongside a slew of famous women Olympic athletes. The music has also been played in ads from Target, Samsung, and Adobe, plus in numerous shows including The Walking Dead, The L Word, and the Netflix series Money Heist and Elite. In Netflix's Sex/Life, the band got a name drop and a full, two-minute-long dance scene—an unheard-of placement. We want to hear from you! I feel like in my upbringing, alongside having to study really hard in school, I feel like there's this sort of nurturing care put into having some sort of artistic ability. Be it painting or singing or playing an instrument. For me, it was playing the violin. I grew up playing the violin since I was five years old. My mom would play the harmonium, and I have an uncle who plays guitar. I was in orchestra my whole life and I used to play the violin doing solo repertoire stuff as well as group orchestra stuff for a really long time. But when I got into high school, I found it to be quite unsatisfying only because I was performing music that was already written hundreds of years ago, which I have great respect for. I have great respect for all the composers and classical musicians, but I wasn't feeling like I was just getting anything out of it at a certain age. It was then that I started writing music. I felt that in school, you would take English classes where you would learn how to read and write. You would read books and write about the books, such as analysis papers, etc, but with music, you only learn how to read and perform. We never learned how to write. I felt like that was an itch that needed to be scratched. It was just something that was in me that I needed to learn. Listen to the entire conversation with Jai Wolf on the BoNY Podcast. Aljon Go and Dave Bossert share part one of their chat with Producer, Animator, Writer, and Artist, John Pomeroy. They also talk about the latest news surrounding Disney, new films, and animation. John Pomeroy is an animator who has worked for several major studios, including Walt Disney Animation Studios and Sullivan Bluth Studios. He has also worked as a producer and screenwriter on several animated feature films. Learn more about John Pomeroy at JohnPomeroy.com. He is known for his work on The Secret of NIMH (1982), All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989), and An American Tail (1986). John Pomeroy started work at Walt Disney Animation Studios in 1973 as a background artist and became a full animator in 1974 to work on Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too. While working at Disney, he met fellow animators Don Bluth and Gary Goldman and began working with them on an independent short film project, Banjo the Woodpile Cat. In 1979 he, Bluth, Goldman, and several other Disney animators left the studio to form the independent studio Don Bluth Productions (later to become Bluth Group), which produced the film The Secret of NIMH and the animation for laserdisc video games Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. The independent studio encountered financial difficulties and declared bankruptcy in 1984, but reformed soon after as Sullivan Bluth Studios and opened a major animation facility in Dublin, Ireland. Pomeroy remained at the Dublin studio to work as the directing animator and producer on An American Tail and The Land Before Time, before moving back to America in 1989 to form a new US wing of the company. After working with Sullivan Bluth for thirteen years, Pomeroy was convinced to return to Disney by Don Hahn to work as the supervising animator on John Smith for Pocahontas. While working at Disney, Pomeroy also provided animation for the films Fantasia 2000, The Tigger Movie, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Treasure Planet. Pomeroy then left Disney once again in 2003 during the period where they briefly shut down their traditional animation department and subsequently started to do freelance work and was an animator for Curious George, and most recently, The Simpsons Movie, as well as Tom and Jerry and the Wizard of Oz, Tom and Jerry: The Lost Dragon, Tom and Jerry: Spy Quest, Tom and Jerry: Back to Oz, Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Space Jam: A New Legacy. He is a talented sculptor, and creates busts that animated film artists use to visualize a 3-D model of their character. John Pomeroy is also a painter of historic events, and builder of historic weapons used in movies. He is currently on the elders board at a Village Christian School in Sun Valley, California. Finneas is one of the smartest producers out there today. His production has won him multiple grammys, multiple chart topping songs, impressing everyone from fans, to the worlds most experienced musicians. But how has he done it? In my opinion he has used three main steps to achieve this. - First, he really cares for the authenticity in every track. When he producer for another artist, he will get to know them on a personal level. This will allow him to channel that authenticity and uniqueness from that artist into the production. - Secondly, he uses real sounds from the environment around him. This instantly creates even more uniqueness, as he is the only person with these sounds or samples. - Thirdly, Finneas loves producing. He would be doing it even if it wasn't his main source of income. This passion allows him to work day and night, even on tour. Allowing his abilities to be ever improving. I will go into further detail on all these points in this podcast, so I really hope you can learn something from it! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/themusiccreativepodcast/message

Sue has experienced so much in her life. She grew up in a very religious Mormon family where she had strict rules to abide by and not much freedom or self-expression. In her teenage years, she started photography as a hobby which turned into art therapy and then her career. She toured with bands, had her photographs in art galleries, photographed hundreds of weddings, and had big dreams... all the while bringing up her 2 children as a single mom. We talk about her coming out as gay to her 2 children, road tripping around the States with them for 3 months, and now being a video producer & working with some celebrities. We told you she has experienced a lot... and this is only scratching the surface! Make sure you go and listen! Mike Langford, record producer, artist consultant, and drummer for both Tense Machine and Deadset Society talks with Pariah Burke on the Hard, Heavy & Hair Show before the exclusive world-wide premiere of new Tense Machine single "Pieces" on Hard, Heavy & Hair. Recently host Pariah Burke was talking with Mike Langford on Facebook about how Spotify is actually good for musicians. They decided to take the conversation to Zoom where Pariah asked Mike about that; strategies for success in the music business in today's digital-first, streaming world; and whatever happened to Deadset Society. The 37-year-old music producer and veteran musician was incredibly candid, not only about his business advice to bands, but also about deeply personal issues like his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. In this episode, I'm with 1/2 of the Hype and Fever duo, Cold Fever. As a Producer, Cold Fever is as diverse as they come. Fusing together Classical Indian music with Reggae and Contemporary Hip Hop is impressive enough; even before you dive into his catalogue of records collaborations. We talk about how he began, what got him started, working closely with his brother and where he draws his inspiration from. Enjoy!
In this episode, I'm joined by TruOmega, a producer who I've followed closely for well over a decade. We go into how the well-known production collective Beat Creatures was formed, his journey through music from a rapper to a fully-fledged singer and producer, funding a studio and the simplicity of good music. He even explains how to react when you open YouTube on morning and find out Devlin has put down one of the best F64s of all time on your beat. We recorded this episode just before the release of his latest single, Next Time which I wholeheartedly recommend you steam after this.
On this episode, 4TUNAT and Greyson get to have a conversation with fellow collaborators Ricky Walters and Noah Farhood. They chop it up about building artist producer relationships, their starts in music, and what the future has to hold for them. Enjoy and dont forget to rate and review the podcast!
