More work needs to be done to ensure the success of the multinational security support mission which has deployed to Haiti to help the national police address chronic levels of violence and instability. That's according to Bob Rae, Canada's Ambassador to the UN and the newly elected president of the UN's Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).The mission, which is not a UN peacekeeping operation, began deploying in June and has experienced some notable gains including shifting the area of operation of some of the gang activity in the capital Port-au-Prince away from two key hospitals and the main port. But, talking to UN News's Cristina Silveiro following a visit to the Caribbean island nation, Mr. Rae said it was impossible to say the country “had turned a corner”.

Dive into the heart of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Commitment to Action this September in NYC. Hosted by Toby Usnik on "The Caring Economy Podcast", this episode highlights CGI's mission of cultivating groundbreaking partnerships, bolstering social entrepreneurs, and amplifying NGOs aiming for scalable impact. Join us as we welcome Elisa Tertulien, Batey Relief Alliance's (BRA) dynamic representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and a Howard University alum. Along with insights from BRA Founder, Ulrick Gaillard, this episode unravels the Women's Empowerment Initiative, a trailblazing menstrual health & hygiene project in the Dominican Republic's bateyes. For context, bateyes denote vulnerable rural regions where Haitian migrants are centered around sugarcane plantations. Amidst economic isolation, gender disparities, and pressing poverty, the women and girls of bateyes often face barriers to education, healthcare, and financial empowerment. Elisa, with her rich background in performing arts, education, and marketing, brings a unique perspective to the challenges and solutions in menstrual health. Delve into the transformative steps BRA is taking, from providing menstrual hygiene management workshops to distributing reusable sanitary products, all in a bid to combat stigma and foster education continuity for young girls. The episode also spotlights BRA's multifaceted approach in Guazumita's bateyes, encompassing financial literacy, agricultural production best practices, and the pivotal role of community health workers. As we journey through this impactful discourse, we address key questions on BRA's success stories, challenges, the future vision for menstrual health in bateyes, and CGI's pivotal role in galvanizing social entrepreneurs. Engage with our series as we dissect pressing topics, share actionable insights, and spotlight solutions that are making waves in the realms of social entrepreneurship, women's empowerment, and global initiatives.

Other NGOs such as Kiwanis International and Lions International have collaborated with UN agencies on a wide-range of health and legal problems. As Ghislaine Maxwell Jury Pre Selection Ends Ban on Some Courtroom Sketches and Still No Call In By Matthew Russell Lee Patreon Song Video Ruling BBC - Decrypt - LightRead - Honduras - Source SDNY COURTHOUSE, Nov 18 – Ghislaine Maxwell, charged with sex trafficking and other charges, faces a November 29, 2021 trial On October 29 and again on November 12, she and the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York filed a flurry of motions in limine, heavily redacted; the Government argued that trial exhibits are not public and will be withheld. Inner City Press opposed and opposes the continued secrecy. on November 18 this: "ORDER as to Ghislaine Maxwell: IT HEREBY IS ORDERED: 1. That courtroom sketch artists whether in the courtroom or overflow rooms may not draw exact likenesses of the Protected Witnesses; and 2. For avoidance of doubt, courtroom sketch artists may confer with the Court or counsel for either party to determine whether a witness is a Protected Witness. SO ORDERED. (Signed by Judge Alison J. Nathan on 11/18/2021)." We'll have more on this. Ghislaine Maxwell had a ghoulish United Nations press conference, under the banner of the "Terramar Project," here. On July 5, after some crowd-sourcing, Inner City Press reported on another Ghislaine Maxwell use of the United Nations, facilitated by Italy's Permanent Representative to the UN, UN official Nikhil Seth and Amir Dossal, who also let into the UN and in one case took money from convicted UN briber Ng Lap Seng, and Patrick Ho of CEFC China Energy, also linked to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. At the Ghislaine Maxwell UN event, the UN Deputy Secretary General was directly involved. Inner City Press has published a phone of Maxwell in the UN with Dossal, here. But the connection runs deeper: Dossal with "25 years of UN involvement" was on Terrarmar's board of directors, one of only five directors, only three not related to Maxwell by blood and name. The directors: Ghislaine Maxwell, Christine Malina-Maxwell, Steven Haft, Christine Dennison and... Amir Dossal. Inner City Press is publishing this full 990 on Patreon here. Inner City Press has begun to inquire into Ghislaine Maxwell's other United Nations connections, starting with this photograph of another day's (or at least another outfit's) presentation in the UN, here. While co-conspirator Antonio Guterres has had Inner City Press banned from any entry into the UN for two years and a day, this appears to be in the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) chamber. We'll have more on this, and on Epstein and the UN. Watch this feed.

José Antonio Ocampo (Banco de la República, Colombia & Columbia University) Inaugural SOAS Central Banking Lecture: Essential Reforms for a Sound 21st Century International Monetary System. The inaugural SOAS Central Banking Lecture will be delivered by Professor José Antonio Ocampo. The SOAS Central Banking Lectures have been established by the SOAS Department of Economics to provide a forum for distinguished scholars and practitioners to address topics of broad interest in the areas of central banking and international monetary and financial policy. The lecture will scrutinise the need for and the challenges of reforming the international monetary system. The 2007-09 global financial crisis, as the emerging market crises of the late twentieth century, show that the ad hoc international monetary system that evolved out of the crisis of the Bretton Woods arrangements in the early 1970s needs fundamental reforms. This lecture, based on José Antonio Ocampo’s recent book, Resetting the International Monetary (Non)System, will analyse the areas in need of fundamental reform: the global reserve system, macroeconomic policy cooperation, prevention and management of balance of payments crises, and governance of the system. Professor Ocampo’s lecture will be followed by comments by Stephany Griffith-Jones (Columbia University) and Ulrich Volz (SOAS). Spearker biography: José Antonio Ocampo is Member of the Board of Banco de la República, Colombia’s central bank, and Chair of the Committee for Development Policy of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). He is also Professor (on leave) at the School of International and Public Affairs, co-President of the Initiative for Policy Dialogue and Member of the Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University. He has occupied numerous positions at the United Nations and his native Colombia, including UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), and Minister of Finance, Minister of Agriculture and Director of the National Planning Office of Colombia. He has received numerous academic distinctions, including the 2012 Jaume Vicens Vives award of the Spanish Association of Economic History for the best book on Spanish or Latin American economic history, the 2008 Leontief Prize for Advancing the Frontiers of Economic Thought and the 1988 Alejandro Angel Escobar National Science Award of Colombia. Vihangam Yoga is well known for its incredibly powerful meditation technique. It unleashes the hidden potential of the practitioner in a very short span of time. The discoveries on this technique by the neuroscientists at CIP Ranchi and Bergamo University (Italy) show astounding results. It is so powerful that it requires only 15 minutes of regular practice to give all the benefits. Few more researches are being conducted at other institutions in India, Russia and USA.
