False alarm yesterday. Jerry Lee Lewis is now 87 years young. I pulled a few stories from the podcast archives for you to all check out.

Lindsay Palmer has worked as a stagehand/usher for Quiet Riot, Skid Row, Warrant, Winger, Everclear, Fastball, Lee Brice, Chris Lane, Adam Doleac, Tyler Farr, and Tigerlily. Additionally, she manages the alternative rock band Mayday Raven and grunge artist Zac Dowgiallo. Jon Thompson is a bass player who toured with The Almost. He's also worked as a backline tech for Lacuna Coil, Jon Bellion, Sick Puppies, Skillet, Boys Like Girls, Quinn XCII & The Aces.

I haven't surprised a guest in a while! In this episode we surprised Chris Cannella by bringing on his colleague/friend Joshua Maloney! Chris Cannella has played guitar in bands N-17, Rorschach Test, Autumn's End & Deicide. He's worked with Queensrÿche, Prong, & Gorgoroth. Behind the scenes, he's worked artist relations and product management for ESP & Fender. He's currently the director of artist relations, experiential marketing, and product management at Armadillo Enterprises. Armadillo manufacturers and distributes Dean Guitars, Luna guitars, & DDrum. Joshua Maloney is my second guest. He was the director of artist relations for Dean guitars for 24 years and recently started his own marketing company called Malco Enterprises. He specializes in celebrity appearances & product endorsements. Current cool clients of Malco include NASCAR & Hex.com. He's also the singer of the cover band Pitbull Toddler.

Jim Pons is an American bassist, author and singer who most notably played for the Leaves, the Turtles, and the Mothers of Invention. He also worked for the New York Jets from 1973 – 2000. His autobiography is titled Hard Core Love: Sex, Football and Rock and Roll in the Kingdom of God. Richard Borders worked on some of the first concert touring light shows in the 1960's. He's done gigs with The Who, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Harry Chapin, Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, The Band, Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, The Monkees, Yes, & Jethro Tull. He even worked a little show in 1969 called Woodstock. Sadly, Richard passed away a few days after recording this interview.

Billy Hayes is a writer, actor, & film director. He is best known as the author of Midnight Express. Since that book was published, he has written Riding the Midnight Express, the Midnight Express Letters, & Midnight Return. He currently performs a one man show about his life. A little background: The film Midnight Express was written by Oliver Stone. It won a ton of awards including 2 Oscars. A bit of fun… after the initial success of the movie Billy drove band equipment. He's worked for Heart, Avril Lavigne, Nickelback, Sum41, Bare Naked Ladies, Train, & Good Charlotte. My second guest is Brian Anderson. He is a front of house engineer and tour manager. He has worked for KISS, Julio Iglesias Jr., Blues Traveler, Hoobastank, Harry Shearer, Natasha Bedingfield, & the Heavy. He is also the CEO of Band Production Services. Not so much fun in my experience Brian has quite simply moved more band crap than anyone I've ever met.

Noah Hicks is a country artist. He recently released a music video for his new single “Breaking Up & Getting Drunk.” Billboard chose him as their Country Rookie of the Month in April 2022. Dylan Marlowe is also a country artist. His new single "Why Did We Break Up Again" is being released in September 2022.

My first guest is Carmine Appice you may know him as being the drummer of Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Beck Bogert & Appice, & Rod Stewart. He's also the author of books Stick It! My Life OF Sex Drums & Rock 'n' Roll & the Ultimate Realistic Rock Drum Method. My second guest is Fernando Perdomo. He's one of the most sought-after guitar and bass session players in the industry. He's also a producer. He's worked with Cristian Castro, Soraya, Jakob Dylan, Cat Power, Fiona Apple, Jennifer Lopez, Regina Spektor, & Todd Rundgren amongst others. Last year the two released and album called Energy Overload.

Steve Hackett is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer who gained prominence as the lead guitarist of the progressive rock band Genesis from 1971 to 1977. He also co-founded the Supergroup GTR. As a solo artist he has released 26 albums. Steve Hackett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in 2010. Davey Johnstone is my second guest. He's been working with Elton John since 1971. In addition he's worked with Stevie Nicks, Joan Armatrading, Meatloaf, Alice Cooper, Hans Zimmer, B.B. King, Belinda Carlisle, Rod Stewart, Leo Sayer, & Olivia Newton-John. His album Deeper than My Roots was released this year.

Chris Adamson is a production manager. He has worked for John Mayer, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Steely Dan, Lionel Richie, Bette Midler, Diana Ross, Lenny Kravitz, Michael Bolton, Def Leppard, Frank Sinatra, Dead & Company, The Byrds in 1967, ELP in 1968, Pink Floyd from 1969 - 1984 & Fleetwood Mac from 1969 -2009. Chris is the recipient of the 2019 Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award. Richard Fernandez is a tour manager. He's worked for the Faces, The Eagles, Frank Zappa, Dave Mason, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, Yes, Crosby, Still Nash, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, Jeff Lynne, the Cars, Olivia Newton John, & Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers for 38 years. Richard is the recipient of the 2016 Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mistress Carrie – You may know her from the Mistress Carrie Podcast, Cocktails in the War Room, & the Mistress Carrie Radio Show. She was on WAAF in Boston for 22 years (1998-2020), and can be now be heard on 100FM The Pike in Worcester MA, around the U.S. on Westwood One's Rock 2.0 and CRX stations, and around the world on the American Forces Network. Carlota Gonzalez is a radio DJ. She worked at Xtreme Radio, She was on KOMP 92 for 18 Years, and recently signed on with 98 Rock in Sacramento.

Jeffrey Pierce has worked as a guitar tech for Lillian Axe, Strip Mind, Musa Chunka & Evamore. He's now a freelance promoter rep for Live Nation and Outback Presents. Sterling Winfield is a producer, engineer, bass tech & guitar tech. He's worked for Pantera, Hellyeah, Texas Hippie Coalition, Erykah Badu, Ghostface Killah, Hatebreed, Damage Plan, Nickleback, Night Ranger, & B.B. King.

Charlie Wiener has been a professional comedian, songwriter, singer and musician for fifty years. He's written seven books; A Life in The Wings, 4 novels, a children's book, and a biography. He's performed throughout the US, Canada, Ireland and the Netherlands. My second guest is David Spero. Early on he spent years working as a DJ. He's worked for Columbia Pictures. He was the Senior Director of Programming at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Working for many years in talent management, he's been the manager for Joe Walsh, Harry Nilsson, Michael Stanley, Dickey Betts, Dave Mason, Billy Bob Thornton, Paul Rodgers, Kenny Loggins, & Yusuf Islam AKA Cat Stevens to name just a few. Mark Oliver Everett better known as “E” is the lead singer, songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist and sometimes drummer of the rock band Eels. His new and 14th studio album, Extreme Witchcraft, is out now and you should totally check it out.

Robert Void Caprio is both a front of house and monitor engineer.  He's worked for Barbra Streisand, Elle King, The Fray, Whiz Khalifa, Cee Lo, Eve 6, Vanessa Carlton, The Fray, Ringo Starr, Boston, Lauryn Hill, Joan Jett, Julio Iglesias & Paul Abdul Paul Jump is a systems engineer.  He's worked for Boston, Rihanna, Kanye West, STYX, KISS, & Ozzy Osbourne. 

Steve Litscher is the tour manager and front of house engineer for Stitched Up Heart and Gemini Syndrome. Randy Mathias is my second guest.  He is the bass player and a backing vocalist for the band Stitched up Heart.    

My first guest is Dizzy Reed. He's been playing keyboard with Guns N' Roses since 1990. He is a member of the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, was a member of The Dead Daisies, and of course still tours with his band Hookers & Blow. A little known fact… that band was almost called Unicorns and incense. My second guest is Nick Huffman. He is the owner of the Looney Bin in Bradley, Illinois. It's heralded as the smallest national venue in America. He's a comedian, releasing the albums titled Abusing the First Amendment and The Black Album. He's the author of the book Fuck, Man! Other interesting Nick factoids are that he ran for president in 2014 and was banned from every Walmart and Sam's club on the planet but was recently pardoned. Brandon Mendenhall is my third guest. He was born with Cerebral Palsy, a neurological disorder of movement and posture caused by abnormal development. With limited mobility on his left side and zero mobility in his left hand, most would say the odds were stacked against him from birth. Listening to Korn and Pantera as a teenager. Brandon wanted to learn to play guitar and to join a band much like his favorite musicians had once done. Teaching himself to play guitar rehabilitated his left hand with no surgical intervention. Mendenhall worked hard finding solutions to his physical limitations and developed a unique playing style that became his signature. He has said, "Once I was able to get a guitar in my hands, it changed my life." His band is called the Mendenhall Experiment. Check them out! A documentary about his life titled Mind Over Matter was released last year and is currently streaming on Prime Video.

He has mixed, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Kiss, Audioslave, Jane's Addiction, Guns N' Roses, Katy Perry, Kanye West, Travis Scott, Justin Bieber & The Mars Volta, Ariana Grande to name a few. He was a forklift operator out at the old Foxboro Stadium for such bands as U2. And now he is a production Runner for a number of venues in Boston and Rhode Island.

Ryan Pervola, also known as "Perv" is a Baltimore based Lighting Designer, programmer, Electrician, rigger & stagehand. He is a local union hand with IATSE local 19 and has worked for GWAR, Tetrarch, Suicideboys, & is a resident LD at Merriweather Post Pavillion. David Boykin is a lighting designer from San Diego. He owns and operates BoykinLights Lighting Designs. and has worked with artists such as Switchfoot, The Beach Boys, Chali 2NA, Carrie Underwood, Washed Out, & Unwritten Law.

Sean Rowe is a singer-songwriter. His newest album The Darkness Dressed in Colored Lights was released last October. You may recognize his songs from NBC's hit dramas The Blacklist and Parenthood. His song “To Leave Something Behind” was featured in Ben Affleck's 2016 feature film, The Accountant. He is an expert forager who hosts the web series Can I eat this? It's got a great theme song… Gareth Dunlop is also a singer-songwriter. He has toured with Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Snow Patrol, Nanci Griffith & the Stereophonics. You may have heard his songs on the shows Nashville, Lucifer, This Is U, Bones, or Suits. In addition, he has songwriting credits that include T.I., Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, and John Oates. His new album is called Animal and will be out April 22, 2022.
