Sorry, Jack, but space is sacked. We return to the cosmos on the latest TO HELL AND BACK with everyone's favorite Good Guy for CHUCKY IN SPACE.While it was likely never more than an idea, 'Child's Play' franchise creator Don Mancini has discussed his idea of how to make 'Chucky in Space' on more than one occasion. We're joined by returning guest judge Sharai Bohannon (co-host of Nightmare On Fierce Street & Blerdy Massacre) to imagine what Chucky in space would look like.We also look at the four other horror icons that went intergalactic.Subscribe to the Development Hell podcast! Vanessa and Joseph Winter are a writer/director duo best known for their critically acclaimed SXSW midnighter “Deadstream,” a horror comedy coming to Shudder in October. They also wrote and directed a segment of the highly anticipated V/H/S/99 which will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.Their feature debut, Deadstream, has been getting rave reviews since it debuted at SXSW (it's at 91% on Rotten Tomatoes). The film is about a disgraced internet personality who tries to win back followers by live-streaming himself alone at a haunted house. The whole thing takes place in real-time and is a found-footage style film with the bonkers horror-comedy feel of early Sam Raimi. It's a funny satire of social personalities and a creepy, supernatural flick. It impressively balances the mixture of tones. They also have a segment in the latest entry to the V/H/S/ series, V/H/S/99. It premiered at TIFF, with many critics citing their segment “To Hell And Back” as a highlight. Like Deadstream, it mixes horror with comedy and is filled with horrific, practical creatures.Vanessa and Joseph met in film school and have worked together ever since. Before shifting to focus on writing/directing/acting, the duo cut their teeth doing everything from art direction to score composition to costumes to production design to editing. They have an interesting story about getting these projects off the ground that feels like a great fit for the podcast. Joseph also listens to Indie Film Hustle and was excited to be part of the show! Please enjoy my conversation with Vanessa & Joseph Winter.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/bulletproof-screenwriting-podcast--2881148/support.

People often ask us, "how can demons torment others when they themselves are in torment?“ In Matthew 8:29 the demon asked Jesus, "What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? Art thou come hither to torment us before the time?” What time was the demon referring to? He was referring to the future Judgment Day in Revelation 20:10. This tells us they are not in full torment now, but they will be then. Dr. Maurice Rawlings in his book, “To Hell And Back,” has documented many near death or clinical death experiences, and said this about a woman who was near death. She was saying, “Devil's are in my room, ready to drag my soul down to hell.” John Bunyan in his book, “Visions of Heaven and Hell,” saw many demons tormenting people in his vision of hell. Interview by Kris PetersMore often than not when a group of musicians get together to form a new band - often termed Supergroup (which still makes me cringe), those musos have either played together before or mixed in the same circles and come across each other in a musical capacity. Not so the three well known musicians that make up death/thrash outfit Dieth.Coming together out of musical connection rather than friendship, David Ellefson (bass, Megadeth), Guilherme Miranda (guitarist/vocalist, ex Entombed A.D.) and drummer Michał Łysejko (ex-Decapitated) recently announced their debut full length album To Hell And Back, which will be out on June 2.Heavier than anything Ellefson has ever done in the past, Dieth also provides a creative outlet for three musicians who have each been major contributors over the past few decades to start fresh with only the sweet smell of creativity in the air.Dieth have already given fans a taste of what to expect with the singles In The Hall Of Hanging Serpents, To Hell And Back and Don't Get Mad...Get Even, each song further exploring the extremities with which Dieth plan to take their music.Ellefson sat down with HEAVY to talk more about the upcoming album."Great!" he exclaimed when asked how he is feeling about the release. "Especially talking to people like yourself and getting some feedback from people around the world. Obviously we had a great journey making the album over the last year. It's nice to know the record company is excited, it's nice to know the fans are excited. It's a process. The album coming out, it's a great anticipation and I'm glad we're doing it."We press him on what to expect musically from To Hell And Back."I think the title says alot, right" he laughed. "It talks about a journey, ironically a journey the three of us were separately on individually. I just find it funny how the three of us were brought together to unify our journey - strength in numbers. It's more fun as a musician to be in a band playing with your friends and I think in this case it's more fun for three strangers to become friends and become brothers to tell a unified story together. I think lyrically that's that part of it. Musically, a theme I keep hearing is that people are excited to hear me do something so heavy, so brutal. It's a step or two beyond probably what I've done in my past, so that's cool. And I like that, because ... I did The Lucid, which was a bit within range but maybe skewed a little more over here, and then I've got Dieth which is way over here. I've got Kings Of Thrash, Ellefson solo and I've got other records that I've done in between. I'm a versatile guy (laughs). I like to play a lot of different music, so to me Dieth represents a really cool cornerstone of a new sound for me."In the full interview, David talks more about what to expect from the album, the singles released and how they represent the rest of the music, the acoustic passage that opens the album and why it is there, the track Walk With Me Forever which is Ellefson's first ever vocal performance, how him singing came about, how Dieth represents a new beginning for all involved, what elements of each former bands the three brought to Dieth, the upcoming Australian Kings Of Thrash Tour with Jeff Young and more.

“TO HELL AND BACK” and More Terrifying True Tales! #WeirdDarknessIN THIS EPISODE: What is it truly like in hell? Of course the only way to find out is to die – and that's a bit extreme if you are just simply curious about the subject. Especially if you find yourself on the wrong side of the faith issue and have to spend an eternity in the “bad place”. But there are some who have reached the edge of life, teetering on the precipice of death, and believe they have experienced the fires of hell, and they were somehow able to return to tell us of their experience. (To Hell and Back) *** Most people are already familiar with the story of the ghost of Abraham Lincoln in the White House, but he is not lonely, not by far. There are many who have claimed to have seen, heard, and even felt ghosts while in the White House… even in the Oval Office itself. (Ghosts of the Oval Office) *** Do you sometimes experience visions of future events? You have dreams and sometimes they come true later? What should you do if you are having realistic premonitions? (Handling Your Premonitions) *** Jane Cakebread loved her liquor… a lot. How deep was that love? Well, she was arrested hundreds of times and convicted an amazing 281 times for drunkenness. (The Drunkest Woman In The World) *** In olden times, pure and reliable water was the staff of life – so a well with fresh water was a godsend. But what if that well is haunted? (The Haunted Holy Well) *** Growing up together as next door neighbors, a boy has a crush on a beautiful young girl – but the crush turns into obsession, and that obsession lead to the end of two lives. Although the differences between thrash and DEATH METAL seemed subtle at the time, there was a distinctive demarcation between the two subgenres, most notably with DEATH METAL having much deeper, guttural sounding vocals, faster time signatures and much darker, supremely bleaker soundscapes and lyrical themes than thrash. There was something palpably different there, we just couldn't quite put our tentacles on it (at the time). We just thought it was the next wave of extreme heavy metal. And quite frankly, we couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. As you all know, “it's not unusual” for us to stir the pot and be provocative, but this was most definitely an episode with a “manischewitz” kinda vibe, including some kosherly delicious “downstairs flavor” to accompany some comments that “you might even say” were “not at all even appropriate” (particularly with regard to “his O and our D”). Get Cookie Monster on the horn and JOIN US as we delve into the darker parts of the Tri-County Metal Multiverse and investigate the bands representing “the next wave” of metal extremism.
