In this solo episode, Vic dives into one of the most common (and least talked about) mental health struggles of the colder months- Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). From that low-grade winter fog to full-on mood dips, we're breaking down what's actually happening in your brain when the sunlight disappears- and how to support yourself through it.Vic shares her favorite science-backed tools for boosting mood and energy naturally - including light therapy, vitamin D, saffron, and (everyone's least favorite but most effective) exercise. You'll also hear about the emotional side of winter: how to balance comfort and discomfort, build small rituals that bring joy back into your day, and reconnect spiritually, whether that means prayer, journaling, or just sitting in quiet morning stillness. This episode is your reminder that winter doesn't have to be something you just “get through.” With the right support, it can actually become a season of restoration, reflection, and growthFollow Vic on instagram hereFor more information & to join the Confident Clinician check it out here! On this episode, Patrick and Hayden discuss Benjamin Sesko choosing Manchester United over Newcastle. How does he fit in at United and have Newcastle fumbled their summer window? Then, we take a look at Serie A teams in what is shaping up to be a fantastic battle at the top of the league. Is Sandro Tonali worth £55m for Juventus, how much is Nkunku worth to Inter Milan (and will Chelsea agree to the price?), Roma are linked to Georges Mikautadze, and are Como quietly cooking this summer? Diego Villanueva discusses his paper on mixed-phase regime cloud thinning (MCT). This geoengineering approach involves using ice-nucleating particles to reduce the heat-trapping effects of polar clouds.Using climate and cloud-resolving models, the study finds MCT could offset up to 25% of polar ocean warming from CO₂ doubling and increase sea ice by 8% in the Arctic and 14% in Antarctica. In the podcast, we discuss the science behind this method, its potential benefits, limitations, and broader implications. Paper: Villanueva, D., Possner, A., Neubauer, D., Gasparini, B., Lohmann, U., & Tesche, M. (2022). Mixed-phase regime cloud thinning could help restore sea ice. (mg)

As law enforcement faces significant challenges in recruitment and retention, understanding generational shifts has never been more critical. With Gen Z officers entering the workforce, police leaders are navigating the unique traits and expectations of this new cohort. This generation, shaped by technology, a need for meaningful work, and a different approach to risk and resilience, requires fresh perspectives on training and leadership. In this episode of the Policing Matters podcast, host Jim Dudley speaks with Dr. Janay Gasparini about how agencies can evolve to meet these demands. Gasparini, a police officer, former field training officer (FTO) and police training expert, is at the forefront of these conversations. She co-authored with Jim Dudley, “Recruitment and Retention of Gen-Z Law Enforcement Officers,” which tackles pressing topics such as the importance of adaptive recruitment methods, the impact of generational traits on training and strategies for fostering resilience among new officers. The french-born Nora Gasparini has dedicated her life to the craft of perfumery and has found her calling in scent. But it wasn't an easy road to get here. Before establishing her perfumery laboratory, Nora was struggling to find her independence and see the value in herself. She was often stuck at home with her mom while her dad and brother went out, explored and handled the family business. But Nora wouldn't be on the sideline for long. After igniting her flame in boarding school, tapping into her creative side in LA and learning what a perfumer even was in Paris, Nora was filled with a love for meeting new people and sharing new scents. Now settled in Bali, her company, L'Atelier Parfums & Créations, has introduced travelers and locals alike to the art of fragrance, and in turn the memories that smell can hold. But before all this Nora was on a different island surrounded by the smells of a bakery.

The name might sound forbiddingly technical, but the chord is immediately recognisable and it has played a hugely important role in tonal music. This is a chord of action and motion: it sounds unstable and incomplete, leading the listener to expect the particular triad that is its normal target. Without this chord, what we call Viennese classicism (Haydn-Mozart-Beethoven) would have been impossible. We will also look at how composers play with the expectations generated by the chord. Vidim rojstvo otrok in rojstvo starševstva. O time busca os resultados-chave. From meeting his childhood hero, Marc Summers, and becoming BFFs, to proudly declaring that his newest Broadway project, “The Karate Kid - The Musical” is going to blow our minds - Drew's lively personality draws you in over and over again.
