Middle Eastern goddess, worshipped from the Bronze Age through classical antiquity
POPULARITY
THE SHOWDOWN on Mount Carmel is even more spectacular than we've been taught. The story is sensational on its surface: The prophet Elijah, one of the few prophets of God still active in the northern kingdom of Israel, tells King Ahab to his face that there will be no rain until Elijah says so. Then he flees from the king and hides out for three years. During that time, the prophet was fed by ravens at the brook Cherith somewhere east of the Jordan until the drought caused the stream to dry up. Then Elijah traveled to Phoenicia and lodged with a widow of Zarephath in the region of Sidon. Because of the famine, she was prepared to make one last meal and then starve to death with her son (or children, according to the Septuagint). Miraculously, the woman did not run out of flour or oil during the entire time Elijah stayed with her. The account of the miracle of Elijah bringing the widow's son back from the dead has a deeper meaning when you understand a little of the religion of the Phoenicians (who were Canaanites, which in turn is just a geographic designation for the Amorites in Canaan). The patron deity of Sidon was Eshmun, the Phoenician name for the Greek demigod Asclepius. The Greeks believed Asclepius was the half-divine son of Apollo, a healer of such skill that he was able to cure death. (This led Hades to complain to Zeus that Asclepius was disrupting the natural order of things, so Zeus killed Asclepius.) The point is this: God, through Elijah, demonstrated that He, Yahweh, was the one God who truly has power over life and death. Likewise, Elijah's confrontation with the prophets of Baal has a deeper meaning. This was a literal battle between Yahweh and the Baal worshipped by Jezebel and her pagan father, Ethbaal, king of Tyre. Ethbaal was a priest of Astarte, the Canaanite version of Ishtar, the Babylonian goddess of sex and war (which explains a lot about Jezebel). The kicker is that the Baal of Tyre was probably Melqart, which was the Phoenician name for Herakles—better known to us as Hercules. This explains some of Elijah's taunts while Jezebel's prophets danced, shouted, and cut themselves to summon their small-G god. It also helps us understand why Elijah had twelve vessels of water poured over the sacrifice and the wood on the altar. It didn't just represent the twelve tribes of Israel and make the sacrifice more difficult to burn, it mocked a libation (drink offering) ritual called yarid that is documented in Jewish and Roman texts and inscriptions as late as the 3rd century AD, when Emperor Diocletian performed the yarid at Tyre for Hercules! This also connects to Mount Hermon, where scholars Edward Lipiński and Charles Clermont-Ganneau noted, based on the site drawing by Sir Charles Warren in 1869 (when he discovered the Watcher Stone in a temple near the peak of the mountain), that the summit of Hermon is scooped out like a giant bowl—probably to receive these offerings. Lipiński wrote that this means the Watchers, led by Shemihazah, did not descend in the days of Jared, but in the days when the yarid was performed on the mountain. So, Elijah's actions on Mount Carmel were directed not just at Baal or Melqart/Hercules, but at the “sons of God” who long ago tried to take dominion of Earth away from the children of Adam and Eve. Is the world about to see a counterfeit forerunner—a religious leader who prepares the way for the Antichrist the same way John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus?Today, Jim, John, and Lonaiah break down the biblical role of the False Prophet, why the next Pope could be far more dangerous than many realize, and how Satan is orchestrating an imitation revival to confuse the world before Christ returns. They dive deep into Revelation 13, the rise of a worldwide religion, miraculous deceptions, and the system already being laid for the Antichrist's complete control. What We Cover:

From Splendor to Shadow, p. 60).
On January 23rd the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present an essay "The Jesus Myth" - Christianity's only hope -- which will be a counter argument to the evangelical Christian position that the so-called Jesus Myth based on the Naassene Document, a 1st or 2nd century Gnostic Christian scripture, presenting Jesus as the last of a recurring cycle of dieing Pagan Gods resurrected by Pagan Goddesses such as: Tammuz and Ishtar, Osiris and Isis, Baal and Astarte, Venus and Adonis, ctc., culminating in Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The fundamentalists contend that this idea undermines the historical Jesus (they reinforce this by mixing in other Gnostic Christian views that Jesus did not die on the cross, which was not a part of the original Naassene proposition.) As Valentinian Gnostic Rosicrucians, we contend that the Jesus Myth as set forth in the Naassene Document is not only valid as scripture, but that it represents Christianity's only hope of survival against its awful record, both Orthodox and Protestant,of exploitation, prejudicial persecution, hypocrisy and patriarchalism. So tune and help us defend our tradition. Music Credits: Opening: Seian by Ali Kesanto Closing: Sneaking Around the Mansion by John Abbot
Njärd borde hennes namn varit i våra trakter. Magert, men lockande. Men förstås: Även Freja hade föregångare... Nils Markus KarlssonkulturarbetareLitteraturCornelius Tacitus: Germania. Let's Talk About Myths, Baby! Greek & Roman Mythology Retold
This episode originally aired in July of 2023. Before she was Aphrodite, she was Kypris, and before she was Kypris, well, she was Astarte and Inanna/Ishtar. Women of any age can drive a man to madness. In 25 parts, edited from the works of FinalStand.Listen and subscribe to the ► Podcast at Connected..“Instinct, education and experience are complementary, not in opposition.”(Wednesday)The phone rang. The clock was flashing 6:15. Odette snuggled up to me, making cute, happy cat-like noises. Timothy's bed was bigger than mine so I had to reach out to get my mobile device. For the tenth time, I silently thanked Timothy for switching bedrooms with me, though I believed he had chosen to sleep on the sofa instead."Hello," I said quietly."It's Buffy. I'll be there in fifteen minutes," she stated firmly."I have a companion over," I hesitated. "Can you make it twenty-five?""Who is that, Cáel Nyilas," Odette yawned. She liked the way my full name rolled of her tongue."Who is that?" Buffy grilled me."She's a sweet young lady I met; the rest is none of your business," I told Buffy. To Odette, "It is one of my many bosses. After my 'auto accident' (I couldn't tell a stranger that some psycho bitch; who I had just screwed; had her mentor kick the shit out of me), she brought me home then deposited me at your workplace. My bike is still at work." I had told Odette I was a cyclist."Does she think you are sexy?" Odette giggled. I groaned."81 days, Cáel," Buffy reminded me. "81 days," then she hung up. I wasn't getting my extra ten minutes."Do we have time?" Odette wiggled her whole body against mine."I don't think so. Babe," I sighed. "All I can do is go down on you then I have to grab a shower and get dressed." Odette blinked, blinked again, then brightened up incredibly."If that's all we can do," she exhibited no regrets as she hurled the covers back. It took me seven minutes to bring her to.I was good, but I had also torn up Odette pretty badly last night. I had to buy Timothy some more condoms. I felt kinda bad for using the number I did. I raced to the shower, did a Wonder Woman (hold your arms out and spin around a few times in the shower), raced back to Timothy's room; Timothy shot me with his Nerf gun from the sofa (Odette was vocal); and began dressing."Odette, stay and get some sleep," I stroked her cheek. "Timothy heads to work around ten, so if you could head out with him so he can lock up the place. Fix whatever breakfast you like. If it is Timothy, I'll make it up to him.""You mean beyond letting us use his room?" she fixed me with her feline eyes. I coughed."Come on, Cáel Nyilas, this room is plastered with male Calvin Klein models and you have five copies of the Village Voice on your dresser. You are far too proficient with punching all my buttons to be gay," she pointed out."Gay men can be very sexually proficient," I countered."Cáel Nyilas (damn, she loved my name), you came five times. I lost track of how many orgasms I had. If you are gay, you aren't in De-Nile, you are in Ethiopia," she giggled. This wasn't the right moment to brag that I ejaculated eight times last night. Rhada filled up three condoms during our little escapade. I repeat, I have an out of control libido."Gotta go," I straddled Odette and gave her a kiss. I deftly avoided the French grapple because I had the feeling that Buffy wasn't the kind to wait patiently."Timothy;” I mumbled as I sped to the door."I know; girl; bed; sleeping," he groaned. As the door shut I heard him add, "at least he's not dull."I managed not to kill myself tumbling down the stairs in my haste to reach the street. Buffy was waiting and drumming her hands on the steering wheel. I tried the car door; it was locked. A tap on the window earned me a baleful glare. I sighed and fell on my knees."Please," I begged. "Please, please, please let me in the car." I heard a click after ten seconds."You're late," she remarked as we sped away. I hastily put on my seat belt."I apologize," I tried being obsequious."You had better be, damn it," she seethed. Oh; I scented arousal; and jealousy. We drove a few blocks in silence. "Who was it?""Are we on the clock?" I countered. Pause."No," she said in a clipped tone."None of your fucking business, then," I growled. "My sex life is none of your concern, Buffy. It is none of your group's concern, so give it a rest.""Or what?" Buffy's eyes narrowed. I wished she would watch the road."Thunderdome, Bitch!" I grinned. Oh, she tried. She tried really hard to stay angry with me."I hate you," she snickered. She pulled out her phone and handed it to me. It was a picture of Buffy, Katrina, Tessa, Desiree and some woman who looked familiar standing, or kneeling, behind a pile of dead animals. All the ladies had bows, knives and camo gear."Does the Audubon Society know about this? I'm pretty sure the World Wildlife Fund would have a freaking stroke," I nodded."Ladies at Havenstone have a passion for killing things," Buffy measured me. "I thought you might want to know.""Why do you use bows?" I questioned. "Don't your boobs get in the way?" Buffy smacked me in the chest; hard. I could have blocked. That would have been counterproductive. No, I grabbed her right boob and gave it a strong squeeze. In retaliation, she hit me again. I grabbed her boob. This went on until we entered the garage. She got in the last hit."We are on the clock now," I notified her. She seemed less than pleased. "Very nice, by the way.""Huh?" Buffy studied."Sorry. Any continuation of this conversation would constitute sexual harassment," I sighed."I am mentally projecting negative emotions your way," Buffy grumbled."I believe the totality of your efforts create a positive outlook for me," I grinned."Have you ever been skydiving?" Buffy dropped out of the blue on me in the elevator ride up."With, or without, a parachute?" I inquired. She blessed me with a feral smile.I hurried to Katrina's office, Buffy a step behind me, rumbling like the jaguar she'd performed illegal dentistry on. She wasn't trying to intimidate me. Buffy was trying to mark her territory. I made it to my desk without actually being scent-marked, so I considered the encounter a draw."Have fun last night?" Katrina inquired without looking up."More than any one man should have," I confessed. Further conversation was severed by the arrival of the first of the female 'new hires'. As Katrina started our little meeting, I surreptitiously put in the work order for my suits. I wasn't sneaky enough for Katrina."Are you suffering some sort of head trauma that makes you believe you can avoid participation in this meeting?" she purred."No, Ma; Katrina," I was contrite. "I had to submit a work order for the business suits Buffy and Helena purchased for me last night so I would stop coming to work dressed like a homeless panhandler." That killed four of the girls; they failed to stifle their giggles."Couldn't you have dealt with that on the way in?" Katrina had this glitter in her eyes."Buffy was attempting to subject me to vehicular homicide," I replied. "I was afraid for my life on multiple occasions, up to and including her entry into the garage.""How horrifying for you," Katrina delivered deadpan."I had my hands full, I swear," I placed my hand over my heart."I suspect that was the case," Katrina allowed. "Is there anything else you need to take care of while the rest of us wait on you?""Thank you, yes there is," I smiled, nodded and began typing away."I was being facetious, but then you knew that," Katrina teased. Several girls were openly giggling now. When I finished, I walked around Katrina's desk, went to one knee and lowered my head. Katrina scanned my latest request."Really?" she was intrigued."Yes, Ma'am," I looked up at her. She ran her hands through my hair. "Katrina.""You are trying," Katrina remarked. That could read either way. "Go back to your station before I show you where you really belong," she chuckled. I stood up and fist-pumped."Woo-who!" I shouted. "I'm going to bed." That finished them off. Even Fabiola cracked a tiny bit and snickered behind her hand. The real joke they were embracing; making me part of their new breeding program; was the punchline to the joke Katrina and I found amusing. I knew the truth. We received our assignments and left the office."How did your date with Rhada go last night?" Paula nudged me."It wasn't a date. It was a corporate appointment," I corrected. "As for the rest; you don't want to know. Please believe me, you don't want to know.""I can make you tell us," Fabiola smirked. The group kept together until I reached Desiree's desk. She was my boss for the day and she was not pleased, or amused.Fabiola saved me."Sister, compel this one to tell us what happened with Rhada last night," Fabiola sneered in Hittite. I played dumb which wasn't hard in my fatigued state. Desiree transferred all of her dislike of me into outrage at Fabiola's breach."Is your blood poisoned?" Desiree seethed. "When they tossed you off the rocks, did you bounce back up, or are you so arrogantly stupid you would flaunt one of our most basic safeguards?""You are only half the woman you could have been," Fabiola shot back.By the way Desiree flew out of her chair that was a deadly insult. I put my body between them and grabbed Desiree by her upper arms."Release me," she yelled, her hate returned its focus to me."You are my boss," I explained calmly. "I most join you in your battles. Is this a battle you truly want to fight, here and now?""Release me at once," Desiree commanded."One of us hiding behind a man," Fabiola mocked Desiree. Daphne punched her. "Ow!""Care to try that on me?" Daphne challenged Fabiola. "My family's prestige has never been called into question." I was starting to think they meant genetic purity."Buffy would not want me to let you come to harm," I whispered to Desiree then released her. It was that hunting photo that made me make that leap. Desiree glared at me. A slap followed, but it wasn't all that hard."Do not touch me without permission, Cáel Nyilas," she commanded in a clear voice.

1st day at fertility clinic intern learns lesson in business..By thomas_dean. Subscribe & listen to the Podcast at Steamy Stories. When I arrived at the Western Avenue Fertility Clinic to begin my first shift at 4:30 AM, I was surprised to find the oversized closet that housed the locker room already abuzz. Although I, forewarned that I must undress and shower to enter the facility, had my auburn hair cut short, I was unprepared for the scene of women packed into the right side of the locker room. I was barely able to hear the security officer's directions over the din of high-pitched voices cackling. The dozen or so women, mostly 40ish or older, crammed in together, were busy undressing and stowing their clothes in lockers on their side of the room.Eek! I almost freaked out. I was a college intern in a fertility clinic. These women, paunches hanging, most of them twice my age, wouldn't their appearance discourage nubile young women from inseminating themselves? The ladies faced their lockers chatting among themselves oblivious to the naked men, on the other side of the room idly standing by. Game, I sighed, the game calls.Pushing my way through the bodies packed together, I nearly passed out from the bouquet of perfumes rising from half naked bodies before I reached my assigned locker. "The new girl?" asked the bare-chested lady to my right. "I'm `Rory, short for Aurora and that slut, she's," Rory pointed to the lady on my left who was bending over to remove her panties, "Astra short for Astarte."Forcing a smile, I tried not to stare at her shaven pubis.Smiling back at me, Astra explained, "My parents were into mythology. Astarte is the goddess of love. Appropriate for St Valentine's Day?" She paused. "As the daughter of the moon goddess, Astarte was granted the crescent moon for her symbol.""So," Rory exclaimed, "reporting in this early, you're caught between night and day." When I looked over my shoulder at the naked men, Rory assured me, "Oh, they're not in cock-blockers but still harmless."Shaking her head, Astra interjected, "It's the law. We have to live with.""During my time in school," I replied as I removed my top, "we needed accustom ourselves to undressing in front of drooling guys.""Ah, equality reigns," Rory sighed, "Allow me," Rory requested permission to unhook my bra, "Gender equality means the employer doesn't have to pay for separate locker rooms for men and women.""But, we can't fault our employer on that score," Astra interjected as she swept the unhooked bra off my shoulders and flung it in my locker, "You'll see Dr. Velour in here, bare to the bone, prancing to the showers before she does her rounds.""And you can feel her beady black eyes upon you whenever she's around," griped Rory."If you can't exclude men from the ladies' locker," I chuckled hobbled on one foot to remove my sneakers, "There is the hope real men might control the occasional perv."Raising her penciled eyebrows, Rory snickered, "Not to worry. These guys are more embarrassed than we are. We count on them remaining hypnotized by our beauty," she wiggled her body, "while we get ready for the herd to race, like cattle on the trail, for the shower.""Judging by swollen schlongs," I looked over my shoulder as I planted a hand on Rory's bare shoulder for balance to step out of my dungarees, "I might think not.""Actually, judging by their bulging eyes, we count on that," Rory snickered. Placing a hand on my bare shoulder, leaning into me to whisper, "We put a show in the shower for the guys. Just play along. It's fun to watch them react. Are you a-game?""A-game! Rub-A-Dub-Dub! Slinging soap in the shower," I nervously quipped, "should be good clean fun.""Huh!" Rory snorted, "just clean fun. Yeah.""Hurry, along," urged Astra, standing behind me, "the cleaning uniform, large frock and trousers, is the same for both—eh all sexes. We like to get the pants so that the guys are left in frocks sans culottes.""Think of it," Rory smiled, "it's the race for the pants in the battle of the sexes."Then Rory and Astra grabbed each of my arms. Out of the locker stepping onto the cold steel of the catwalk, I felt that same tingle that I felt earlier with Jerry. There's a certain excitement in racing naked stampeding like cattle. Could it be the exaltation of freedom, violating social norms? I wondered. On the passageway I melded into a herd of bare breasts bobbing and bare bubbly butts bouncing which bolted across the cold steel bridge toward the bright light radiating off the tiles of the shower. At the entrance to the shower, a tall thin girl named Doulchia in a two-piece reduced the stampeding cows to a line of contented calves, awaiting assignment to a spigot. "My task," Doulchia rang out an order in singsong as she arranged a line along the railing, "it is decreed, to corral the bare ass, make them pay heed."Running with the pack had an advantage. I didn't think. I didn't look at the others in the horde. Now, on edge, I nervously looked at the other women. All pubis were hairless.I restrained myself from shrieking when Rory grabbed my attention by gently rubbing my back. "Good," Rory told me, "you cut your hair short. It dries faster. Consider clipping your muff."Aghast, I struggled to thank her.Sorting out the dozens of naked women for use of a few showerheads, Doulchia rang out her rhyme, "The shower managed skillfully, for maximum efficiency, in planning activity, for rub-a-dub-dub with dignity, three heads fitted, under the same spigot."As I came up to Doulchia, Rory chided her, "putting your bottom in a thong took away two panels for ..""I lost two pockets," Doulchia cracked in a lyrical voice, "but I still have the sockets, to stow your deposits."I looked from Rory to Astra for a clue. "Ugh," Rory grunted, "Nurses and aides get first choice on the best customers anyway."I was pleased that Doulcia, the tall thin girl in charge of the shower, placed me under a spigot with my locker-mates, Rory and Astra. Pointing to a spigot, Doulchia intoned, "Rub-a-dub-dub, watch for the hubbub, three for a scrub."Three of us found ourselves under a spigot. "Hands up," Rory roared an order. Up to the mindless game of splashing around, I mechanically complied. As Rory lathered under my arms down my sides to my butt, she whispered, "We need to move quickly. We're caught between night and day. You have to handle Astra."Back turned to me, Astra raised her arms. Her shaven armpits had little nubbies where hair follicles had been removed. As I worked down her soft flesh, a sudden tingle up my spine inspired the remark, "electrostatic," I exclaimed, "yet so different from touching a man."I know what happened even though I can't explain why. My body took charge. I had never intended to have found my fingers roaming from the pillowy underside of her breasts down her stomach to the smooth flesh of her mound. In response, Astra, leaning backwards into my breasts, engaged me."Reverse," Rory abruptly ordered. We jumped in unison to about face. Snickering at the men, Rory muttered, "just watch the bouncing boobs."I tended to Rory as Astra caressed my breasts with a slick soapy fluid. Expanding circular motions probing downward from my nipples brought her fingers across my belly and lower abdomen to my vaginal lips. I moistened the ruby red rim of my mouth with my tongue. I had never been disloyal to Jerry from the time I met him. Why were my own greedy fingers probing Rory's vagina pulling her back into me? Was it just a game? I was close to cumming when Rory ordered, "Enough Rub-a-dub-dub. Show's over. Quick rinse off."With the sting of a swat on my wet butt, Rory assured me, "It's only a show." Invited to look over at the guys, I laughed. Their eyes transfixed, the guys stood by, schlongs effervescing. "Works all the time," Rory quipped as we passed by the guys to towel off, "Game set and match!"Claiming the cleaning uniform's pants, Astra chanted, "We get the pants," Astra laughed, "and the guys get the lacy underpants."Descending the long staircase into the sub-surface gym, Rory advised, "we usually don't have much in the gym besides spraying disinfectant, wiping down the equipment and mopping the floor.""Oops," Astra interjected, "not to forget cleaning Dr. Velour's office."As we wiped down the exercise equipment, Astra explained, "we usually don't find anything gross. Guys, whether employees or donors; must wear an athletic supporter in the gym. That should be sufficient to sop up any emissions.""Laundry," Rory smirked peering into a circular clothing bin and waiving off the stink, "has to deal with any ugh," her face contorted "man goo."Looking toward the pool with a look of disgust, Rory commented, "The guys swim nude in the pool. Fortunately, the guys in maintenance have to clean the slime over there."Returning to street level to pass through to clean the treatment rooms, we were required to strip and shower. "You may bemoan, Subject to inspection, at change of zone, More Rub-a-dub-dub, for your protection, crammed into the tub, to prevent infection.."Standing naked, shivering, arms criss-crossed over my breasts, I waited with Rory and Astra for assignment to a spigot. Ready to assign us to a spigot, Doulchia, pointing to a spigot, exclaimed, "to scrub, bacteria insidious, a good rub-a-dub-dub, fastidious."Rory held her palms out as if in question. To the unvoiced inquiry, Doulchia simply shook her head. A brazen look on her face, disbelief creeping into her voice, Rory pleaded, "nothin` on Valentine's Day?" Looking toward me, Doulchia nodded. Rory protested, "She's just got over the shock of a little rub-a-dub.""Damn!" Astra complained, "early bird men, cock unblocked, dangling free, are good tippers."Doulchia laughed, "Don't huff, some guys get a rush, from a muff, that is plush."After a quick shower, we donned frocks and thongs to enter the male treatment rooms. The room selected to begin looked like a normal medical treatment room, except Rory explained it had a hitching post, a simple pillar, 5' feet high by 2' feet wide in the center of the tiled floor instead of an examination table. "Fire plug shaped, the device simulates a man crunching a female against the wall. This is the Customer's prime choice of fantasy," Rory commented."Each room is equipped with a visor. Unlike the old-fashioned fertility clinics," Rory explained, "we don't hand out girly pictures. This shield," Rory held the visor, darkened like sunglasses as she wiped it with disinfectant, "draws the guy into the experience. It presents him with a vivid virtual sexual encounter.""Dr. Velour designed the device and scripted the fantasies herself," Astra interjected. "It's set for the introduction.""When the subject dons the visor, he's drawn into a different reality. His imagination overrides the intellect. The fantasy becomes a reality in his mind. Here try it out," Rory offered it to me. "We'll start cleaning up the room."As Rory nodded to Astra to begin spritzing the room with disinfectant, I hesitantly held the visor in my hands, undecided whether to put it on.Turning to me, Astra noted, "It's just like a video game, with the plus that you'll explore Dr. Velour's vision, a female spin on a male fantasy."I looked around the room. A pungent odor of disinfectant rose as Rory began to hum a gentle tune as pushed the mopped across the white tiled floor and Astra wiped down the table and cabinets."For the cause of research," I sighed as I tentatively donned the visor holding my hands at its edges ready to flip it off my head. The sounds of chatting passersby in the corridor faded away, along with Rory's sweet singsong and the swoosh of her mop and the pungent odor of an ammonia-based disinfectant.Veiled in the shield, I found myself alone in the examining room. On the visor I envisioned Doulchia. Her two-piece gone, a ghostly counterpart of Doulchia appeared in my vision clad in a starched white nurse's uniform enter the room with a tall carrot red topped naked male subject, thick red hair hung from almost every inch of the subject's body, except his freckled lower abdomen and butt. His schlong hung prominently against a fur free crotch and nuts. After securing the subject's feet to the floor in front of the post, then, donning gloves, Doulchia's ethereal presence reached into hitching post and pulled out a sleeve and secured the man's schlong. "A guy's imagination won't suffice," The specter of Doulchia's phantom explained, "to reach a level of excitation, requires a device, to provide physical stimulation."His schlong secured, Doulchia's spiritual presence, locking the red-haired man's arms around the pillar, noted "the pillar is a soft and rubbery, delightful to his touch, a cozy 91 degree,, tempting so much, drawing him into her clutch."The image in the visor of the subject hitched to the post faded away into swirls of green, yellow and red colors which settled into the apparition of a figure, a man perhaps, in an embrace with a fire-plug shaped pillar. Doulchia's voice as the swirling colors warmed from green to yellow and yellow to red and red to a deep crimson. "Thermographic images dazzle," Doulchia's illusion continued her lecture, "by the intensification, of the subject's arousal, with increasing stimulation."When the colors dissolved, the subject was gone. In front of me appeared Astra soft pale body bare but for a micro thong damming her love canal. The extra fat disappeared from her belly; her small breasts floated like globules on her chest; her nipples erect. To her right stood Rory, pendulous boobs, nude, her crotch hairless. On her left, were two males one with his genitalia wrapped up in the cock block; the other hanging free."But Rory and Astra shouldn't be here," I protested, "They're supposed to be cleaning."The apparition of Doulchia re-appeared in her nurse's uniform between Rory and Astra on her right and the men on her left. "Your co-workers about their task, Stand in contrast, to your fantasy, here we broadcast, only what you fancy.""What now?" I asked.Dulchia's phantasm smiled, "Sing a sweet song, for the pair you select, to entertain, playing ping pong, on the subject's brain.""Huh?" I was taken by surprise. The image of Doulchia chanted a clarification, "In your vision, time for a decision, a pair to cuddle, two by two division, your preference for a couple?"The question hung. I chose Rory and Astra—or the images of them to entertain the Red-haired subject.
Dear ones,We are back after a short break. I hope you all are faring well. In this episode, we chat about the ongoing vibes of Taurus season, the relationship between Venus and pleasure, avoiding determinism in astrology, and fighting for the life you want. We also discuss the Venus workshop we are holding next weekend.Below, find a description of the workshop and a link to sign up if you'd like to attend! With love,Christina & TheresaVenus Workshop: On PleasureGoddess of Love & Beauty. Queen of Heaven. Patron of the arts and ruler of all things sensual and pleasurable. Venus is known by many names: Isis, Ishtar, Innana, Aphrodite, Astarte, Shukra, the list goes on and on. Of all the planets in the sky, it is Venus—perhaps—we humans mythologize most fervently. We know her as both The Evening and The Morning Star. So brightly does she shine, she's earned the honorific title of Light-Bringer. So profoundly does her absence move the human psyche, that distinct cultures across history have devised secretive cults and profound rituals to plumb the mysteries of her retrograde. And yet, in this age of widespread loneliness, numbingly cheap pleasures, and highly addictive, dopamine-hacking technologies, I sometimes wonder: Where is Venus in all of this?If there were a conceptual canopy under which all matters of Venus might fall, I believe it would be “Pleasure.” To know and to seek pleasure is the path of Venus. For this, she is highly prized and revered amid the planetary pantheon. And yet, so frequently we find ourselves estranged from the Venusian realm and from the deep, innate engagement with pleasure that should be a straight shot within us. We find ourselves asking, at shockingly late stages of life, what do I really like? What brings me delight? We realize we've defaulted to ideas and definitions of pleasure wholly defined by people and by social structures entirely outside of ourselves. When will I have what I want? When people come to astrology, frequently it's to pose a version of this question. But the more essential question—the one we often forget to ask– is much deeper:Will we enjoy what we want? Our culture will eagerly teach us what to desire. Sometimes it's our parents who fill in the blank at an early age. Sometimes it's our community. Occasionally it's media. Many faith traditions exist almost wholly to fill this yearning inside us. But what instruction, if any, do we receive on pleasure? And in the absence of that instruction, we are left with the assumption that our desire alone can guide us; that the feeling, the urge, the passion will cut a blazing path to the deep pleasure and fulfillment we seek. But the path between desire and pleasure is not as clear or direct as we are led to believe, and pleasure itself is not bound to any object or goal or process of striving. Pleasure is a force unto herself, and Venus is the celestial custodian of her secrets. This is the first time Theresa and I will be offering this workshop, and it was born of an intention to make space for the sacred and essential processes of pleasure. Together we'll look at the nature and quality of Venus as a planetary devi from many angles and traditions. We will plumb the depths of information the birth chart can offer about our relationship to Venus and we will use a variety of traditional and intuitive techniques to identify concrete and unconscious obstacles that block our fullest expression and experience of pleasure. The session will open with a guided meditation and space is limited to ensure that the work can be tailored to the group and there is ample space to share, learn, and grow in the safe container of our Venusian deep dive. The workshop will be held live on Zoom on Saturday, May 18th at 10 AM PST. Attendees can register through the signup sheet provided and must provide their birth information in advance. There is a suggested donation of $20 to $30. Zoom link will be provided upon registration!Register for the workshop here: LinkAdditional Links: www.skiesofgrace.com www.innercurrents.com Get full access to Skies and Currents at skiesofgrace.substack.com/subscribe
In this week's study, I continue in Chapter 18 with verses 6 thru 8. Before I get into the study, I discuss “Is Easter in the Bible” Coming to the word "Easter" in the Bible, the churches seize upon it imagining that they have found proof that the Bible is not perfect. Fortunately for lovers of the word of Yahweh, they are wrong. Easter, as we know it, comes from the ancient pagan festival of Astarte. Also known as Ishtar). This festival has always been held late in the month of April. It was, in its original form, a celebration of the earth "regenerating" itself after the winter season. The festival involved a celebration of reproduction. For this reason the common symbols of Easter festivities were the rabbit (the same symbol as "Playboy" magazine), and the egg. Both are known for their reproductive abilities. At the center of attention was Astarte, the female deity. She is known in the Bible as the "queen of heaven" (Jeremiah 7:18; 44:17-25). She is the mother of Tammuz (Ezekiel 8:14) who was also her husband! These perverted rituals would take place at sunrise on Easter morning (Ezekiel 8:13-16). From the references in Jeremiah and Ezekiel, we can see that the true Easter has never had any association with Yahshua Messiah. Nowhere in the Scriptures do we find where Yahweh tells us to keep ‘Easter'! This is a church tradition that was set up by The Council of Nicaea in 325 decreed that Easter should be observed on the first Sunday following the first full moon after the spring equinox (March 21). Easter, therefore, can fall on any Sunday between March 22 and April 25.Exodus 12:18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even."It is elementary to see that Herod, in Acts 12, had arrested Peter during the days of unleavened bread, after the Passover. The days of unleavened bread would end on the 21st of April. Shortly after that would come Herod's celebration of pagan Easter. Herod had not killed Peter during the days of unleavened bread simply because he wanted to wait until Easter. Since it is plain that both the Jews (Matthew 26:17-47) and the Romans (Matthew 14:6-11) would kill during a religious celebration, Herod's opinion seemed that he was not going to let the Jews "have all the fun." He would wait until his own pagan festival and see to it that Peter died in the excitement.6. Reward = Render. Compare Mark 12:17 and Jerm. 51:24. rewarded = rendered. Same word. “repay.” double. = This word is put for full compensation. Of sorrow. Contrast with this the double of joy which Jerusalem shall receive for her past suffering (Isa. 61:7; Zech. 9:12); even as she has received double punishment for her sins (Isa. 40:2).in the cup = (Rev. 18:3; 14:8; 17:4). filled = literally “mixed.”fill to her double = of the Lord's cup of wrath. Literally, "double the double things." Now keep in mind, this is not double in strictness, but in measure. The idea is that of an exact equivalent. So give back to her double according to her deeds and "the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her." In other words, make sure she gets every ounce of what she deserves.7. How much = that is in proportion as Glorified = Been proud, boastful, arrogant. lived deliciously = luxuriously sorrow = Greek, “mourning,” as for a dead husband I ... am no widow = for the world power is my husband and my supporter.Have any questions? THE BELIEF that Babylon the Great of Revelation 17 is Rome, either as a revived Roman Empire or as the Roman Catholic Church, is popular among prophecy students. There are some good arguments for this identification, and others that point in other directions. The identity of Mystery Babylon hasn't been settled for 2,000 years and we don't try to do it here. However, we do look at some interesting spiritual parallels between Rome's origin story and the ancient Sumerian city of Uruk, the kingdom responsible for the Tower of Babel. The connection is the deity known as Inanna, Ishtar, Astarte, Aphrodite, Venus, and Queen of Heaven, who we believe is the woman who rides the Beast—and that's why we believe the ten kings of Revelation 17 are supernatural, not human political rulers.
On Thursday May 6th, 2021 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present a revised chapter from the new edition of The Book of Solomon's Magick, Chapter Five, the Qabalah of Wizardry. This revision is necessary because our version of Qabalah has undergone some evolvement since this chapter was published twenty-six years ago. We have discovered the Celestial Tetragrammaton, restored the Eleven Sphere Tree of Life before the Fall. Evolved the sacred marriage from Baal and Astarte to Jesus and Mary Magdalene in the Rosicrucian degrees and created new kameas for the outer planets. I suggest you have your Tree of Life diagrams handy as you listen so that you can follow along the paths.
We are finally going to publish the Seventh Ray Omnibus issue which we have been heralding for 20 years, reprinting the old journals from 1972 through 1978.The Seventh Ray, Book IV Omnibus Issue, The Violet Ray is a time capsule. Buried to preserve a record of the formative years from 1970 to 1978 of America's longest running Ceremonial Magick lodge, the Order of the Temple of Astarte. The Seventh Ray journal was ressurrected at the turn of the century in a new format running for three issues from Book I to Book III in 2011. Now we are unearthing the time capsule and bringing back the originals in facsimilie to be studied and enjoyed by a new generation of magicians. In the pages of the old Seventh Ray you will find articles by William G. Gray, Frederick Adams, Geoffrey James, Luis T. Culling. David G. Kennedy and Janine Renee, and the first publication of Jack Parson's Freedom is a Two-Edged Sword. You'll find A History of the O.T.A. along with The Return of the Grail in the Age of Aquarius and Trisecting an Angle with a pentagram and those ribtickling cartoons. So watch for it and prepare to return to those thrilling days of yesteryear -- When Simon King of the Witches chanted Magnetic-Electric! Magnetic-Electric!

Join us on a journey of faith and heresy with Rabbi Dr. Shraga Bar-On through a neglected chapter in the history of Jewish mysticism, the mysticism of the great sages of the Mishna and the Talmud. In a rich culture of dispute, rabbinic voices debate the mystical. Shraga gives us a first-hand creative rereading of one of the most mystical rabbinic passages, the famed ‘Four Who Entered the Orchard' shedding light on its secret history and transformation from a forbidding tale of three, to a cautionary tale of four. Join us as we venture into the orchard, discover its pitfalls, promises, presences and pleasures, and whatever you do, don't say ‘water, water.' Rabbi Dr. Shraga Bar-On is the Director of the Kogod Research Center for Contemporary Jewish Thought and the David Hartman Center for Intellectual Excellence, and a lecturer of Talmud and Jewish Thought at Shalem College. At the David Hartman Center, he is responsible for the advanced training of aspiring public intellectuals through the Beit Midrash for Israeli Rabbis, the David Hartman postdoctoral fellowship, and the Maskilot fellowship for women pursuing their doctorate. His research in Jewish philosophy and identity addresses a wide range of eras and topics: Second Temple literature, Mishnaic and Talmudic scholarship, medieval Jewish literature, early Zionism, and contemporary Jewish identity. His books and other works have been published in academic, popular, and educational contexts. Shraga lives in Beit Horon, is married to Vered, and is the father of Peleg, Sinai, and Gefen. July 20, 1986. Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. 66-year old Jim Rice phones his daughter to let her know that he will be traveling to California to undergo shoulder surgery the following week, but he never arrives and no one ever hears from him again. Jim's common-law wife, Astarte Davis-Rice, initially claims that he took off to Australia with another woman, but evidence soon emerges that Astarte has committed fraud to seize control of Jim's estate. Astarte eventually winds up serving prison time for these offenses, but while the authorities suspect that she killed Jim and disposed of his body, there is not enough evidence to file murder charges and no trace of him is ever found. April 7, 1984. Golden, Colorado. The body of 29-year old Mark Groezinger is found inside his parked car on Lookout Mountain and he has been shot several times with a .38-caliber weapon. Mark's wife, Judy Groezinger, comes under suspicion once investigators discover that she purchased a .38 in the days prior to the murder and stands to benefit from a substantial life insurance policy on her husband. Even though there are a number of discrepancies in Judy's story and circumstantial evidence pointing to the involvement of multiple conspirators in a murder-for-hire plot, no one is ever charged with killing Mark. On this week's episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we explore two cold cases featured on “Unsolved Mysteries” in which a male victim was suspected of being murdered by his spouse. This week we look at Astarte, wife of Baal, goddess of love, hunting and war. We take a dive into Canaanite religion and its relationship to early Judaic religion, including her mentions in the Baal Cycle and the Bible, as well as her later role in Egypt as a war goddess and wife of Set. We also explore the seeming paradox of love goddesses also acting as goddesses of war.

THE SUMERIAN GODDESS Inanna was called Queen of Heaven as late as the time of the prophet Jeremiah. The Sumerians believed she controlled the keys of human civilization and wanted to rule the underworld, too.We continue our study of the ancient entity also called Ishtar, Astarte, Aphrodite, and Venus as we prepare to dig into Revelation 17, because we believe this entity is what John saw in his vision of Babylon the Great. This week, we look at the false resurrection promised by this entity and her colleagues as they build the infrastructure for the global kingdom of Chaos—the Antichrist.Watch every episode of Unraveling Revelation at www.UnravelingRevelation.tv. We're back! And we're taking a trip in the Rewind Time Machine to talk about two of the oldest goddesses in recorded history. Astarte and Ishtar both emerged out of Mesopotamia as goddesses of war, love, sex and fertility. Their influence would spread from the ancient Middle East to the Mediterranean and into Egypt, serving as the blueprint for several Greek, Roman and Egyptian gods. These ancient goddesses explore the duality of the divine feminine, as ferocious as they were sensual. Also in this episode is our very own “Reading Rainbow” segment where we regale you with tales from the Epic of Gilgamesh (cliff notes version) and read a short story about the origin of the dawn from Nikita Gill's “The Girl and The Goddess.” --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/difficultdamsels/support

INANNA, better known as Ishtar, Astarte, or the Queen of Heaven, has a long history as one of the most popular pagan deities on Earth. We believe she is the fallen spirit known in Revelation as Mystery Babylon. This week, we look at an important aspect of her story—the myth of her marriage to the shepherd-king Dumuzi, known in the Bible as Tammuz. This story has given birth to the Greek tale of Aphrodite and Adonis, the “dying and rising god” meme among scholars, and the women who wept for Tammuz at the north gate of the Temple in Ezekiel's day.Was Dumuzi a human or the demonic spirit of a pre-Flood giant who inhabited a human king in Sumer after the Flood? We will never know, but one thing is for sure: Our King, Jesus Christ, is the good shepherd, and Dumuzi/Tammuz is not.
BABYLON THE GREAT, sometimes called Mystery Babylon or the Whore of Babylon, is not just a symbol for the end-times religion of Antichrist. She—or, more properly, it—is an ancient entity who aspires to the throne of God.We finally begin our study of one of the most mysterious and hotly debated topics in end times prophecy: Who or what is Mystery Babylon? Over the last 2,000 years, Christians have taught that it is Rome (or the Roman Catholic Church), Mecca (or Islam), Jerusalem, a reconstituted Babylon in Iraq, London, and New York City.We think Mystery Babylon is an entity known to the ancient Sumerians as Inanna, and to later civilizations as Ishtar, Astarte, and the Queen of Heaven. This week, we give you some of Inanna's back story, as it was told to the Sumerians, to give you an idea of the power she wielded over their culture and religion.
Let's Talk About Myths, Baby! Greek & Roman Mythology Retold
Before she was Aphrodite, she was Kypris, and before she was Kypris, well, she was Astarte and Inanna/Ishtar. This is the story of Aphrodite's origins in ancient Phoenicia and Mesopotamia. Welcome to Warmonger, a weekly HH gaming meta podcast on the Eye of Horus Podcast Network. This episode premieres 5 days early on the Eye of Horus Patreon. The Divisio Assassinorum was a shadowy organisation of assassin temples, part of the Emperor's own household and sent on missions where the resources of the Imperial Army, Astartes, or any of the myriad armed wings of the Imperium might be too heavy handed, and the subtlety of a knife in the back is more rewarding than all out drop pod assault. These shadowy weapons would be turned against the traitors in due course. Can they take on Astarte characters and actually assassinate them? Are they worth their points? On episode 92 of the Magick & Alchemy Podcast, hosts Kate Belew and Kristin Lisenby discuss goddesses of sex and war. In this conversation, they share stories of Inanna, Queen of Heaven, and her descent to and from the Underworld. They discuss Inanna's possible ties to Astarte, Lilith, Venus, and Aphrodite, and the removal of her sacred Huluppu tree. They also talk about the mythology of the winged Isis, and ask each other why sex and death are inextricably linked in these Goddess stories. Created by Tamed Wild. Christopher Knowles, proprietor of the Secret Sun Institute of Advanced Synchromysticism, joins us to explain why the figure, described by a New York politician as a “satanic golden Medusa demon,” represents the gender-fluid Sumerian goddess Inanna, called Qetesh in Egypt (and known as Ishtar, Astarte, and many other names in many other places over the centuries), and how this is part of an ongoing series of “art” displays intended to re-establish the “old blood sacrifice cults… under the cover of Woke.” Help us to Build Barn Better! This is our project to convert our 1,200 square foot shop building from a place to park our yard tractor into usable studio and warehouse space. In 2023, we plan to fix the holes in the walls, replace windows, insulate the building, install an HVAC system, and move our studios and book/DVD warehouse and shipping office out of our home.
