Tim McNeil: https://www.linkedin.com/in/timmcneil3/   Sponsors vCIOToolbox: https://vciotoolbox.com OSR Manage: https://osrmanage.com   Greg Sharp & Trevor Thomas – Contract Chaos No More    Greg Sharp, a CISSP-qualified IT security engineer, is the Managing Director of ZenContract, a company with team members in New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and Canada. With 30 years of experience in the IT industry, he has served on advisory boards for Datto, Autotask, Dropbox, Microsoft, and Cisco in the APAC region. Greg is currently on three MSP advisory boards and has been a director of multiple businesses. He built and sold three MSP businesses, including the latest one sold to a division of the New Zealand government for a record-breaking multiplier. This process and systems led to the creation of ZenContract, which allows MSPs to fully own contract and agreement management. Greg leads a dream team of specialists, forming a culture that automates and enhances MSP contract management for all MSPs.  6:45 – Brian stated that contract management is a key difficulty in MSPs because many contracts become open-ended at the contract point.  9:51 – Tim's focused on assisting MSPs in growing their sales departments and dealing with the complexity that comes from big clients. They've been talking with a client about how to get the service manager to work and get an accurate picture of their client base. The discussion attempts to assist clients in improving their sales departments and streamlining their contracts. 11:03 – Greg offered a glimpse of AOR over 12, 24, and 36 months, noting that their MSPs will be evaluated using a multiplier of contracted revenue. As they have contracted revenue for one to three years, this technique creates a sense of stability and assurance. The formula may be a combination of these criteria, offering a reliable assessment of the worth of their MSPs. 15:41 – Greg said that ConnectWise and Auto Task are currently quite well integrated with the system. They are now working on Halo, which will be released soon. The system incorporates price, work kinds, inventory, and other data at the client level. Because the solution does not play in CPQ distribution streams, they must include recurring monthly contracts. The PSA believes it is critical to bring this up for discussion. Halo is another price quoting tool, however, it is not specifically designed for managing recurring monthly revenue. 20:26 – Tim noted the ease with which account managers and VCIOs may access QBR, adding that it eliminates concerns regarding signature difficulties. He recalls incidents in the MSP world where a single signature caused problems. 21:38 – Greg mentioned that MSPs are also employing templates for project variation sign-offs, which allows them to deliver scope variations for signatures in the middle of a project. These templates are immediately saved in the PSA against opportunities or contracts, capturing all components of the solution negotiation process. This tool assists MSPs in managing project variances and ensuring the project negotiation process runs smoothly. 24:22 – Trevor expressed interest in working on the channel because he is familiar with several of the characters. He is looking forward to the pitching program and IT Nation Connect, which will focus on webinar strategies.

Though he could have been coddled to protect him from harm, his parents rarely treated Trevor differently than any other kid. This led him to being a star soccer player, but after college he felt his confidence waning. That's when he invited friends to go on an adventure of a lifetime on a four month hike up the west coast. When it comes to living in better relationship to the rest of creation, one aspect of our lives that we don't talk about enough is money. How we earn it, how we spend it, how we save and how we invest—these subjects aren't often thought of as aspects of earthkeeping. In fact though, if we aren't thoughtful and intentional about our finances, the way we use and keep money has the potential to do harm to others and to the community of creation. In the same way, money used wisely and strategically has the power to enact much good in the world. The same could be said, really, when we consider how we invest our time and our talents. Mighty Blue On The Appalachian Trail: The Ultimate Mid-Life Crisis

Trevor Thomas was an adrenaline junkie in his mid-thirties when he started to lose his sight. Six months later, he was completely blind. After a spell of understandable bitterness, Trevor refused to allow his new circumstances to define him. Approaching the logistical issues with a precise attention to detail, he set out on a new journey. This has led him to hike nearly 20,000 miles in the past ten years. His story is inspiring, as is his mission to empower blind and visually impaired young adults while challenging the misconceptions the sighted community has toward the blind. He founded Team FarSight Foundation, Inc. to achieve this goal in 2014. Since 2012, Trevor has been accompanied on his many adventures by his remarkable companion, Tennile.     There are many ways to contact Trevor; Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as well as through his website. He and Tennile continue to inspire those of us who often take our physical well-being for granted.     Jessa is now in her first 100 miles and enjoying every minute. Don't forget to follow her blog, which you can reach here. I caught up with her a couple of times this week.   James Claiborne, another guest from a previous episode, shares his pre-hike concerns. They proved to be groundless as he reveled in the companionship of the trail.   Please consider being a patron of the show. Go to patreon.com/mightyblue to support me. Thanks

The Blue Collar Blind: Not Necessarily About Blindness derives from talking to so many people who met the challenges of blindness and forged forward. They are who they are because they had the drive to succeed at their ambitions. They carved out their own niche in life and are living out their passions. Not Necessarily About blindness is the fact that some of us don not look at the world in the same way and see opportunity where others see barricades and brick walls. To them, it is not necessarily about blindness, it is more about getting it done and seeing it through.    Jeff Thompson talks about the mechanics of a V8 engine and how it works. Knowledge is a great tool to have and understanding is a great place to be. Nothing is useless knowledge unless it never gets utilized. Exercise the brain by thinking and understanding. Trevor Thomas always loved extreme sports. This love, however, was threatened when, in 2005, when at the age of 36, Trevor began to lose his sense of sight. And eventually, he went completely blind. But this didn’t stop Trevor from doing something that I am dreaming to do someday — and even doubt my ability to finish — which is planning and completing a thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. All 2175 miles. He’s gone on to complete the Pacific Crest Trail, the Tahoe Rim, and founded Team FarSight, to challenge societal misconceptions about the blind and visually impaired, and to show that it’s not the insurmountable disability that most believe it is. A Quick Preview: Where Trevor learned a love of extreme sports. How he lost his sight. The change that allowed him to change his mindset and rediscover his identity. Why he chose to get started by taking on the Appalachian Trail. What he gets from these experiences, and how people - who once thought he was crazy - see him today. Trevor has hiked some of the most legendary and difficult treks in the US including an unassisted, solo, end-to-end, thru hike of the Appalachian Trail (2,175 miles in 2008). In 2009, he completed the 2,654 mile Pacific Crest Trail. What makes these treks even more impressive is that Trevor is blind. In 2005, Trevor became blind in only a few months’ time, abd after a period of mourning, he set out to regain the skills he needed to function in society (and much, much more).

The Appalachian Trail.  The Pacific Coast Trail. The Tahoe Rim through hike.  These are challenges worthy of any athlete, any hiker.  Today's Athlete On Fire just happens to be blind.  Yes, blind.  He has hiked many of our classic routes without the ability to see.  He wasn't born blind either.  He lived with his sight until a fateful and life changing blindness happened when he was 36 years old.  His amazing endurance and story is sure to inspire you to get out there and do some amazing things yourself.  As a matter of fact, his challenge is so unique you will have to try it just to relate to what he goes through as a blind hiker.  Learn how he locates himself in dangerous situations and why being in touch with all of your other senses is more rewarding at the top of peaks where views are usually the focus.  Come share in the awe and the amazing story of today's Athlete On Fire.
