You've probably had an experience that goes something like this … You pick up your phone. You start thumbing through that Instagram newsfeed. And then you realize something. Everyone looks the same. Everyone sounds the same. How many pink blazers did you just double-tap? How many duck lips can one person see from a fake private jet? A dance where one points at words that fly across the screen? It's hard to watch, and when you're looking to share your business and create a living for yourself and your family, it can be really discouraging. How the heck are you supposed to stand out online? Ah, my girlfriend, you are going to love this week's podcast episode. I got to sit down with a joy of a human being, stylist, and brand embodiment coach, Trish Taylor. "It’s never your body, it’s always the clothes. " Trish’s life was the picture of success: Working in fashion (the dream), styling celebs like Ariana Grande, and living that coveted L.A. life. Her hidden internal struggle? She had ZERO confidence, hid her body behind clothes, was *so* uncomfortable with any kind of attention, and was terrified of posting on social media or using video because “who would care what she had to say?” She was her harshest critic! To gain visibility and build a business, Trish knew things needed to change. The key: Mindset and body image work, using style as a tool. In telling her story, Trish delivers inspiration, hope, and clear takeaways that we can apply to our mindset today.

Today's guest, Trish Taylor, moved to the U.S. from England in 2005. If you're wondering why she came to America to live, she warned, "be careful who you dance with." Ever find yourself not going on video consistently? Or not showing up for your audience due to a lack of confidence? Struggling to put yourself out there because you aren’t at that “desired weight” yet? Then, this episode is MADE for you! In this episode, former stylist to the stars, Trish Taylor, talks about using style as a tool to stand out and feel like the best version of yourself, in your current body (**and not waiting on the weight to do ANY of that!!). Trish digs into owning your story RIGHT NOW and showing up as the woman your ideal customers desperately want to connect with. The key takeaways from this episode:You are worthyPeople tend to leave their clothing as the last thing to worry about.Waiting to get back to where we were a couple of years ago so that we could wear those clothes again. You’re worthy right now to feel good in your clothing and don’t have to wait until your business has momentum, or until you lose those 10-15 lbs.Plan your contentBatch visual content for social posts. Batch create outfits, photos and copy so then all you have to do is put it together.Dress the body you have right now.Wear colors that are consistent with your branding and find a neutral background.People stop to read your caption after you draw them in with a photo.Shop onlineYou can choose exactly what you are looking for without.Shop at stores that have great return policies and order things that maybe you wouldn't have necessarily tried because now you're getting the items in the comfort of your own home. You can control the experience and have a friend over, play music, drink bubbly, etc.Order two sizes if you are unsure and wear them around the house and return the one you don’t feel comfortable in.Trish’s favorite stores with the best return policiesNordstrom has good denim and a great return policy.Lulu’s has a good selection of trendy clothes.Asos has trendier pieces.Spiritual Gangster is good for athletes.Madewell is more casual and has a good return policy.Episode Resources:Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/trishtaylorstylingFree Quiz - https://trish-taylor.mykajabi.com/quiz https://www.trishtaylorstyling.com/
Episode 23 - Defining your Personal Style with Trish Taylor Your personal style (aka how you dress) is absolutely part of your brand, and that's why I knew I had to bring my friend and personal stylist Trish Taylor on the show. Trish helps women own their awesome, to feel comfortable in their bodies, which gives them the confidence to show up authentically. When you love what you are wearing, it affects how people view you as well. When you are happy and feel great, you will be more likely to attract your dream client!More and more we entrepreneurs have to show up online, on video, at events and it certainly helps to have a wardrobe that we feel great in. To be our best selves, we need to look and feel our absolute best, but where do we start? Being able to dress as the woman you want to be is like having a daily high five. Trish talks about learning to dress intuitively and develop our own sense of personal style. She shares what a "Batch Wardrobe" is and how we can use one. I also share some insights I gleaned for prepping for my own personal brand photo shoot, something Trish helps tons of women with. Trish shares her top 3 tips for Dressing for Success at it were, and they're NOT what you might think. In fact, Trish's suggestions are more about confidence and loving ourselves than they are about this year's fashion colours and what accessories to wear on camera. Plus, Trish shares her fun quiz that can help us all identify our style archetype, so we can learn how to dress in a way that feels authentic to who we want to be seen as. Here are the highlights of my interview with Trish Taylor: Personal Stylist Expert on Women Developing Brilliance.Who is Trish Taylor? From small-town girl to celebrity stylist to female empowerment coach, Trish Taylor is a personal stylist expert. She's dressed stars like Ariana Grande, Kerry Washington, and Zendaya, but now has found a passion helping women entrepreneurs. Trish uses style as a tool to create self-confidence and amplify solopreneurs brand message. She's passionate about helping women not only look better but feel better in the body that they have now.She advises “commit to only wearing clothes that you love!” Lightbulb momentAfter long days and nights styling for celebrities on the red carpet, Trish realized that something was lacking for her. Despite the glamorous Los Angeles buzz, she was missing a connection. After taking a psychology course, she was determined to bring more of a holistic approach to her offerings and help women feel good about themselves from the inside out. Shining a bright lightComing from a family of 9 to 5'ers, Trish had to take a leap of faith to enter into the world of entrepreneurship. Shifting her mindset helped. Settling into the fact that she knew that she was put here to serve gave her the fuel to embark on the solopreneur journey. Overcoming darknessIn the beginning, Trish battled with her own insecurities - both in her appearance and comparing herself with other stylists in her industry. It was easy to create packages that mimicked others that had more experience than her. She's thankful that those initial growing pain years are behind her.Through crystallizing her unique brand message and developing offerings that were more aligned with her target audience, she was able to release the feeling that she needed to be “like” others in her field. In finding my own clarity for my business, I've helped my clients find clarity as well. Big truthThe solopreneur is often neglected in the personal styling arena. Trish says it's even more important for the online business women to show up across social media and in professional photoshoots in a way that accurately shows her brand. Trish's brilliant tipsAlways dress the body that you have right now.Create a small capsule wardrobe that fits your body type, personality, and lifestyle (like a pair of dark wash denim, a blazer, a few layers, a well-fitting bra, etc.).Show up for yourself confidently every day. I loved my time with Trish becauseI stand behind her mission to help women become self-confident in the body that they have now. Her teachings include mindset work and tools to create a signature style so we can be the best version of ourselves. Amen!Connect with Trish: https://www.trishtaylorstyling.com/Lastly, consider joining her upcoming challenge which begins on May 13th: https://www.trishtaylorstyling.com/stylediary

I’m so excited to be bringing you this interview today with Trish Taylor, who is part of our Accelerator group training program. Trish is a personal stylist who helps female entrepreneurs dress for the life they want, to dress the body they have right now and to love what they’re seeing in the mirror. My team and I have been watching Trish evolve so much in just the past 6 weeks, because just a short time ago she really wasn’t clear about who she was really meant to serve. You’re going to hear the ways Trish has gotten clarity on who her ideal target audience is, and how she’s now created an online course that’s helped her narrow her focus even more. Trish breaks down what this $497 course looks like, her funnel for the launch and how she’s just started running Facebook ads to promote it. At the time of recording it’s too early to tell how her ad campaigns did, but she promises to come back on and update listeners on the results! Trish has some big plans for her business, and this course is the first step for her to connect deeper with the people she’s really passionate about serving. I think what she teaches lends itself very well for courses, webinars, challenges and paid advertising, which is why I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Trish. Before we start the show, I’ve got something to ask. How do you listen to this podcast? Is it in the iTunes app, Stitcher, Spotify or maybe iHeart Radio? Do you listen to it at regular speed, or maybe like me you listen to your podcasts at 1.5X speed? I want to know! Take a screenshot of you tuning in to The Art of Paid Traffic, and include it on your Instagram Story, while tagging me, @RickMulready! Want to win a 30-minute strategy session with me? I’ll be drawing one winner at random each month, and all you have to do is give me your feedback on this podcast over at http://rickmulready.com/messenger, telling me what you’d like to hear more of - including topics you’d like to see covered, guests, style and frequency of the show! On the Show Today You’ll Learn: • Why Trish would like to move away from 1-on-1 coaching, and how she plans to do this • How she’s using a quiz and a challenge launch – but why I feel she shouldn’t count out using webinars • The metrics she should be paying attention to when she evaluates the results of her Facebook ad campaigns • My recommendations for how to follow-up with people who didn’t purchase the course • An “asset” that Trish can leverage to sell her course and future products • What she can do to keep prospects warm while she’s in the prelaunch phase • Ideas for content she can create to attract the right audience, including a way to get introduced to other people’s audiences (and serve them too)
