Six Weeks Of Holiday Horror continues with "Silent Night Deadly Night 5" (1991) —  AKA the movie that finally broke Mickey Rooney. We're not sure why this movie isn't talked about more, but you better bet we're happy as heck to give it a little love this Christmas season. Some of you might not even know there are more than two in this hit-or-miss series, but we think y'all might have some  fun with this particular entry, mostly for Mickey's insane, paid-in-whiskey performance, the special effects by everyones 90's go-to for low-budget horror, Screaming Mad George, and a bonkers script by both director and long-time Tarantino friend Martin Kitrosser AND horror icon Brian Yuzna, who also helmed the prior sequel as well as so many other beloved horror classics. We say, you're never going to see Mickey Rooney dressed up as a killer Santa ever again in your life, so watch it for that, at LEAST. We know you've all been waiting for one, and we're excited to talk about one... and which one better than this insane bloodbath?!!(And get ready, because this one's our long one!) Gore Maestro Eli Roth literally burst onto the horror scene back in 2002 at TIFF (and then in the US a year later) with his feature film debut, "Cabin Fever", and since then, it's garnered mad respect from the likes of Peter Jackson and it's spawned two sequels and a remake, all of which we discuss in our eighth episode --  but don't worry, we also talk about a list of other things, such as bi-polar disorder, the upcoming holidays, and our current theme: Six Weeks of Holiday Horror, which begins next week with the 1972 Sally Field Thanksgiving-set thriller, “Home For the Holidays". It's our Halloween episode, gory friends!Considered the bastard stepchild of the “Halloween” franchise, we quite like this weird sci-fi third (by name only) entry of the series! We're only two weeks away from All Hallows Eve, if you can believe it, so it only makes sense to talk about “Trick ‘r Treat” (2007) Why? Well, it's become a beloved classic since it's confusing direct-to-DVD release… it has an amazing ensemble cast including Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, and Dylan Baker… and dude, if you need a genuinely scary, dark, and fun movie that just screams the season, this is simply the one! It's probably one of the best anthology films out there, too, with hands down one of the greatest werewolf transformation scenes you'll ever see on celluloid!
