How To Track Your Goal Progress: The PDSA Framework - Episode 31 w/ Coach Bryn Having a goal is one thing. Knowing how to accomplish it is another In this episode I am breaking down a simple process any athlete can use to track their progress to their goals. Introducing the PDSA Framework This comes from the field fo healthcare but it works in the world of sports as well PDSA stands for Plan, Do, Study, Act First it is important to come up with a plan. Some sort of game plan for how we are going to go about attacking our goal. Then we have to execute the plan as we have laid out this is the DO portion of our formula. Next we must study what happened And finally we must make the necessary adjustments and repeat the process as many times as it takes to ge thte right actions to achieve our desired results. Using this process is important for how you are going to know what is working, and what could be working better. If you want better help on how to do processes like these to crush your goals reach out to me and schedule a call https://bryndrescher.com/free consultation Thank you for listening to this episode and please like, comment, subscribe, and share.

How To Be A Better Coach: Learning the Love Language of Your players - Episode 21 - w/Coach Bryn Often you see situations where a player or athlete thrives in one environment and does poorly in the other. It may have you saying why is that? In this episode I am asserting it is because we did not learn that players love language Now I know some people think it isn't about love its about doing your job, especially in the case of pro sports and while I do believe that has a place you catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar. So, imagine we learned the love language of our athletes, or just simply took the time to get to know them better you would then see a difference in the output. We hear about an ROI in terms of stocks but what about ROI in terms of time put into a player. It costs organizations millions in player development and obviously they are seeing it is paying off. Take the time to invest in your player and they will in turn show you how much it means to them in their production and leadership.

The Measure Of A Man: How To Play To Your Strengths - Episode 13 w/ Dr. Scott Goldman My conversation with Dr. Goldman was very enlightening. Scott Goldman created a way to measure athletes based on 4 buckets and many professional teams tap him to find out how to better build their teams and ultilize them. In this episode I asked Scott about his AIQ and how it works. The biggest takeaways from our chat was that you can't predict or really measure human behavior. At its core the AIQ that Dr. Goldman and his partner created was designed to give you a better insight into a person and where they are strong and areas that they may be lacking to know how to best utilize and employ that player. Most importantly Dr. Goldman wanted people to know that no one thing can tell you everthing about a person that comes from a lot of introspection and support of a qualified assist. Mental Health In Sports: How To Be Mentally Healthy and Happy - Episode 12 - 1st Solo Ep We have 11 episodes released and I thought it time that we have a little chat about something important. I had been wanting to do a solo episode eventually but with everything going on in the world of sports around Mental Health it felt like this was the perfect timing to do it. As a mental performance coach I work with athletes regularly and they share their struggles with confidence and feeling like they aren't measuring up. But there are also moments where they share about their anxiety and more serious challenges as it pertains to their mental health. Then you see athletes like Naomi Osaka being so transparent as well as the big news about Simone Biles and you realize how much this isn't talked about enough. In this episode we use the recent events of Simone Biles pulling out of the 2020(1) Olympics Team competition in gymnastics and Osaka's recent admissions around mental health to talk about how we can be more sensitive and what are some tools to be a support in these situations. There is also advice to parents, families, and coaches of athletes. I also mention other resources and initiatives that are being formed and available as a result of the greater focus and acceptance of being able to talk about mental health. As a society we can do more to support those in need and learn not to make light of someone's challenges just because it doesn't look like we think it should. Mental health is called the invisible Injury because it looks different on everyone. Please reach out to someone if you are struggling and let me know what you found valuable about this conversation. Two resorces mentioned in the episode: https://thelovelandfoundation.org this is for women of color needing mental health support that looks like them. https://www.theconfessproject.com/ This is the initiative to train barbers to be the first line of defense for mental health so check this out to find out more info and to support.
