The Fearless Flow solves this by providing the internal regulatory system needed to sustain that external risk. It allows you to feel the fear but stay anchored in your body, rather than being pulled into self-protection. By grounding yourself in the combined calm of the Breath, Mudra, and Chakra Focus, you build the deep internal safety required to drop the external armor of perfectionism and truly "dare greatly." Are you tired of saying yes when you really want to say no? In this powerful conversation, I sit down with leadership coach Robynne Weaver to explore the hidden costs of people pleasing—and why so many women, especially in midlife, struggle with it.Robynne shares her own journey from the high-pressure events industry to coaching, where she now helps women recognize when people pleasing, perfectionism, and codependency are leading to burnout, resentment, and self-abandonment. Together, we unpack why women are socially conditioned to put everyone else's needs first, how “being nice” is different from true kindness, and why discomfort is the currency of growth. You'll learn:What people pleasing really is (and what it's not). The surprising role control plays in the cycle. Why women in leadership roles set the tone for healthy boundaries at work.Simple, practical tools to stop overcommitting—like Robynne's rule of “no immediate yeses.”How to shift from rescuing and overdoing into authentic, assertive communication. If you've ever felt resentful after saying yes, worried about upsetting others, or stuck in the “good girl” role, this episode will give you the awareness and tools to start breaking free from the habit of people pleasing so you can reclaim your confidence, energy, and joy.Download Robynne's free guideBreak the Habit of People Pleasing Course

Here are the key takeaways from Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza:⸻1. Your Thoughts Create Your Reality• Every thought produces a chemical reaction in the brain, which influences your emotions, actions, and ultimately, your life.• By changing your thoughts, you change your personal reality.2. The Subconscious Runs the Show• Most behaviors and emotional reactions are automatic, rooted in subconscious programming.• To change your life, you must reprogram the subconscious mind through awareness and practice.3. Mind–Body Connection Is Powerful• Your brain can't always distinguish between a real experience and a vividly imagined one.• Mental rehearsal (visualization) creates new neural pathways, training the body to “believe” in a new reality before it physically happens.4. Breaking Free from the Past• Living in constant cycles of the same thoughts and emotions keeps you tied to your past.• To create change, you must step into the unknown instead of reliving old patterns.5. Meditation Is Transformation• Meditation helps you slow down brainwaves, disconnect from old programming, and access the subconscious.• This is where you can install new beliefs, habits, and ways of being.6. Elevated Emotions Attract New Realities• Pairing clear intentions (thoughts) with elevated emotions (gratitude, joy, love) is the formula for manifesting change.• Thinking without feeling has little effect; emotion is the fuel.7. You're Not a Victim of Your Genes• Epigenetics shows that genes respond to environment — and your internal environment (thoughts and feelings) matters.• You can literally “signal” new genes by thinking and feeling differently.8. Becoming a New Self Requires Consistency• Lasting transformation comes from daily repetition of new thoughts, behaviors, and feelings.• Change doesn't happen overnight — it's a practice of becoming familiar with the “new you.”9. The Quantum Model of Reality• Instead of cause and effect (waiting for things to happen before you feel different), you create reality by embodying the feelings of your desired future now.• In other words: don't wait for success to feel successful — feel successful to attract success.10. Your Future Self Already Exists• By imagining and emotionally rehearsing the life you want, you begin to “tune in” to that version of reality.• Acting like your future self now is how you align with it.⸻⚡In short: To change your life, you must think greater than you feel, break free from old emotional patterns, and practice becoming your future self today.100 Books that will transform your life by Michael Mantehttps://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/100-books-that-will-transform-your-life-michael-mante/1147536571;jsessionid=97A787FAF852AE61198BDEA31A4AC75F.prodny_store02-atgap13?ean=2940184358833

In this episode, I reconnect with Mark Weiss, who originally joined me for Episode 772 of the podcast after accepting my challenge to read The Four Agreements and go deep with its wisdom. What follows is an unfiltered, soul-level conversation about the journey of deconstructing personality—of learning to recognize and dismantle the masks we've unconsciously worn for years. Mark vulnerably shares how he's been shifting his relationship with judgment, ownership, habit, and personal integrity. He talks about how reading the book helped him respond more calmly in his marriage, honor his word to himself, and begin dismantling the layers of identity shaped by childhood, culture, and survival mechanisms. We explore the difference between habits and choices, the power of conscious awareness, and the invitation to see deconstruction not as something “hard,” but as a sacred adventure in returning to the truth of who we are. This episode is for anyone who's ever said, “I want to change, but it's so hard,” or who's been caught in cycles of guilt and inertia. It's a reminder that every time we wake up to a patterned response, we have the power to chisel away another layer that doesn't belong. What if your transformation doesn't need to be heavy? What if it could be a joyful unraveling? This conversation is proof that it can.

Dr. Joe Dispenza's Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself just earned a spot on my Top 10 list of life-changing books. The title feels a bit harsh—suggesting we need to "break" ourselves—but the content is transformative. It's about becoming your best self by confronting the negative patterns that hold you back. Dispenza shows how aligning mind, body, and spirit creates a seamless, vibrant state of being. However, he focuses on the pitfalls of chronic negative emotions, driven by our hardwired survival instincts. While these instincts are vital for protection, when they're constantly triggered, they trap us in stress and prevent us from thriving. This book hit home for me recently, guiding me back to a relaxed, purpose-driven, and creative mindset.

Dr. Buabang studies the brain mechanisms behind habit formation—why we repeat behaviors even when they no longer serve us, and how stress, repetition, and environment shape our choices. Drawing from both neuroscience and real-world applications, he offers practical insights into how we can intentionally disrupt compulsive patterns and support lasting behavior change. Whether you're navigating ultra-processed food recovery, supporting clients in early abstinence, or trying to create new routines that align with your values, this conversation will give you tools, understanding, and encouragement to work with—not against—your brain.

In this message, we dive into Matthew 5:33-37, where Jesus challenges us to be people of truth. In a world where words are often manipulated, Jesus calls us to radical honesty—where our "yes" truly means yes and our "no" means no. Why do we struggle to be truthful? Fear, insecurity, and the desire to control outcomes often lead us to exaggerate or twist the truth. But Jesus invites us into a life of integrity, where trust and character matter more than empty promises. In this sermon, we explore: ✅ The historical context of oaths and why Jesus forbids them ✅ Why truthfulness is essential for strong relationships and faith ✅ Three practical steps to live with integrity every day Jesus doesn't just tell us to try harder—He offers us Himself. His grace covers our past dishonesty and transforms us into people of truth.

Session Savvy: Breaking the Habit of Saying ‘OK' in the Child-Centered Play Therapy Playroom

In this Session Savvy episode of the Play Therapy Podcast, I talk about the subtle impact of saying "OK" in the playroom. While it seems harmless in everyday conversation, in child-centered play therapy (CCPT), "OK" can unintentionally convey permission or agreement when the child should have full autonomy over their choices. I explain the difference between using "OK" for acknowledgment versus giving permission and why it's important to avoid this habit in the playroom. I also provide practical examples to help you identify when and how "OK" slips into sessions and how to replace it with neutral, reflective language. This episode is a reminder that the words we use in CCPT matter, and small deviations like saying "OK" can impact the child's experience in subtle but significant ways. If you feel resistance towards meditation, this episode is for you. I often hear people saying that meditation feels hard. They're bogged down by racing thoughts and sitting with them feels like an uphill battle. But here's meditation is a non-negotiable for me: by the age of 35, 95% of who we are is a repeated pattern of past thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. So moving throughout the world without conscious awareness of our patterns can dramatically hold us back. That's why my husband and I meditate every day, with one or two exceptions here and there. In order to up level, you've got to Break the Habit of Being Yourself. So how can you move through the resistance that your body might feel to meditation? The beauty of meditation is in the opportunity to take ourselves out of survival mode and transition into a creation state. What has you stuck in survival mode? This idea that meditation is too hard for you. Yes, it's going to feel hard. But we can do hard things! In the process of doing what feels “unnatural” to you, you'll become supernatural! This is how you create the life you deserve. Have you ever felt like you're in a never-ending battle with comparison and self-doubt? Jenn Schultz, the compassionate author behind "She's Not Your Enemy," joins us to share her journey from a people-pleaser trapped in the pursuit of perfection to someone who's found her true worth through faith. Together, we navigate the treacherous undercurrents of insecurity, jealousy, and loneliness - all while learning to anchor ourselves in the truth of who we are in God's eyes.Scripture offers us a sanctuary, a place where we can silence the noise of comparison and hear the voice of our truest ally. In our deep and vulnerable conversation, Jenn and I discuss the strength we can draw from passages like Psalm 103 and Ephesians 1, using them as a compass to guide our way back to our true identity. We also examine the Armor of God, not as a suit for battle against our peers, but as a reminder to stand firm against the real challenges of life, enveloping ourselves in compassion and understanding for those around us.Ending on a note of hope and joy, we consider the power of faith to overcome rejection and conflict, finding fulfillment in the communities we build and the roles we play within God's Kingdom.
