OS68: Ty Bollinger – The Truth About Cancer and The Health Care Matrix

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 27, 2018 67:42

In one significant way, Ty Bollinger is like almost all of us. He lost someone he loved very dearly to cancer. His father. In the following decade, Ty lost 6 more of his family members to cancer, including his mother. Like many of us, Ty found it hard to believe that the standard medical response his father, mother and family received was the best or only solution possible. Impassioned, he took action, and began diligently to research alternatives. Learning of the body's true power to heal itself, the natural remedies that successfully support this healing, and the profit motives driving the medical system's myopic and often ineffective approach, Ty became a revolutionary, with a mission to reveal to others these truths about cancer, and to put an end to this pandemic disease. His search took him across the country and around the world, speaking with hundreds of practitioners who have successfully used alternative cancer treatments, and people who have reversed their cancers - all kinds of cancers - using unconventional methods. These approaches, he found, have been unaccepted and actually suppressed by the mainstream healthcare system. Driven to share the truth about cancer and empower others to prevent and heal the disease, for themselves and their loved ones, Ty compiled everything he had learned into a book, and then a series of documentaries. Expanding upon everything he learned about the pharmaceutical industry and cancer, Ty recently created and released a related documentary called The Truth About Vaccines. Ty is a force to be reckoned with, and he packs this interview with at times shocking and thoroughly life-saving information and stats about cancer, the standard medical approach and its alternatives. Maybe the most important and empowering truth about cancer explained in this interview? The body, if well cared for and supported, has the power to heal itself. Our deep thanks to Ty for his tireless passion, work and commitment to the truth. Enjoy. The post OS68: Ty Bollinger – The Truth About Cancer and The Health Care Matrix appeared first on Ownstream.

Teresa Yanaros was born into life destined to unite in service with beings beyond Earth. Child of a military family stationed at RAF Woodbridge, England in the early 1980s, she grew up hearing stories about the Rendlesham Forest incident, one of the most famous UFO sightings in history worldwide. Over the years, Teresa would variously keep an open mind and resist this revelation, taking a fairly traditional path out of childhood into college, where she majored in journalism, then held a series of jobs. What remained constant, though was a quest for the truth. A turning point came when her father pointed her to a book, Journey of Souls, which documented a series of dramatically consistent stories of people's experiences between death and life--and the journey of consciousness that endures, lifetime to lifetime. For Teresa, the truth of these stories, and the vast depth of our consciousness that they revealed, could not be denied. She was awakened. With her mind cast wide open, Teresa began having supernatural experiences of her own. These experiences dramatically changed the course of her life. Teresa sold everything, quit her job, and began to write, speak and live the truth that was coming through her. She became a coach, and created a blog and YouTube channel to share her knowledge with the world. Also, Teresa now speaks regularly at conferences, and collaborates with major national movements, like the Full Disclosure Project, to spread the messages of spiritual awakening, disclosure, and the truth of our existence as consciousness. It is her mission in all her collaborations to empower others to awaken to their true, infinite power, and to join with the co-creative consciousness of the planet to manifest its positive future. Teresa is at once candid, humble and accessible; forceful and empowering; light and wise in her sharings and predictions for our future. Enjoy! What's the new way to live, lead, earn and give? Peta Kelly says it's simple -- and it begins and ends with our alignment. Peta always lived with a desire to serve others. Her interest in serving our collective health led her first to network marketing, where she sold Isagenix health products. Her belief in the product and magnificent hustle led her to become a millionaire through this business by age 26, when she retired her single mom, and began to launch her own businesses. She even launched herself on a worldwide speaking tour. Because as she began to create, powerful messages began to come to her, and to move through her human channel. She began speaking worldwide, and creating epic sh*t of her own. She also felt a call to help people change their "money story", something we discuss in-depth in this interview. Her most recent message, lovingly and powerfully laid out in her first book, released earlier this year, is that "Earth is Hiring." That there is a "New way to live, lead, earn and give for millenials and anyone who gives a sh*t." And it begins with raising our vibration to meet Mother Earth at her highest frequency and creative brilliance. We've got it wrong when we believe we need to save the Earth, Peta says. Mother Earth is a bad*ss creator - all she needs us to do is remember that we are, too, and rise up to meet her. She says the most important thing anyone can do to meet this collective calling now, as the world rushes toward transformation, is to put your alignment first. Stop doing sh*t you hate, and recreate your life to be and serve what you love. Live in your "tap". We have everything we need, all the time to flow effortlessly with nature, and to create infinite abundance, solutions and service for others. One of the (many) awesome things about Peta that comes through in this fun, power-packed, call-to-action of an interview is that she is human as f*ck. She is no guru, but an awakened human being who has aligned with her soul's purpose and opened her own tap to allow the flow of a powerful message that is within and resonant to all of us - human beings and magical creators in one.Be who you are, and the magic within you here and now will be effortless, Peta tells us. It might even raise the vibration and change the world. Enjoy! The post OS66: Peta Kelly – Earth is Hiring, Our New Way to Live, Lead, Earn and Give appeared first on Ownstream.

Gerard Armond Powell ("Gerry") has always been an all-or-nothing kind of guy. To say he had an addictive personality is a gross understatement. Drugs, women, alcohol, money....you name it. Every vice known to man has written a chapter in his colorful life story. And for many years, each of these chapters had a very dark - and often catastrophic – ending. That is, until he found plant medicine. During his first ceremony, he had a chat with...the moon (of course). The moon - perhaps a vehicle for his higher self - laid out an entirely new vision for Gerry's life, and how specifically he was to help others recover from addiction using plant medicine and other powerful healing modalities. Most importantly, as Gerry describes it, that night he was reconnected with his soul. The gap between he and his true Self that he had tried so hard to fill with drugs, women, alcohol and anything else he could get his hands on, had been closed and healed. He emerged reborn. Incredibly, the guidance he received during this first ceremony played out mostly to the letter. He has since founded and runs the Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica helping hundreds of others to close the gap, reconnect with their soul and find peace, healing and recovery on the other side. In this interview, learn all about Gerry's story, including the specifics on what happened during his first experience with plant medicine, his epic encounter with the moon, his transformative healing work at Rythmia and his vision for how plants can change the world. His dramatic transformation and utter authenticity are certain to inspire anyone seeking the truth about life and our relationship with God and the natural world. Enjoy! When asking how our lives might look different if we were to follow our hearts and dreams, so many of us point to travel. For most of us, travel represents freedom in one way or another - the ability to do whatever we want to, go wherever we want to, whenever we want to do it. But many of us never do it - or do it only in the limited, accepted, prescribed way - for a couple weeks of vacation a year, here or there. We feel confined to one place, limited by time, money, and location-dependent obligations. No so for Jason Moore. After college, Jason longed to travel - to take off in the spirit of adventure. Despite $20,000 in student loan debt, Jason took a leap of faith that he could support himself on the road, and took off. What he found on his way was that many of the mind stories that stop us from traveling are actually made up of myths. That is, it's not actually impossible to make money while traveling - in fact, he was able to pay off his student loans while traveling and working on the road. Jason's own experience learning how to travel and experience freedom and location independence soon became his passion to serve and help others. Along the way, he partnered up with fellow traveler and friend, Travis Sherry, and created an online community, “Location Indie”, for people living this so-called alternative lifestyle. Jason comes through in this interview as a down-to-earth, warm, and easy-going guy, and also a deeply knowledgeable and experienced expert in the art of travel and freedom. Enjoy! Brandy Gillmore refused to take "no" for an answer. After a car accident and a fall that injured her spine, the former athlete was left with devastating, chronic pain throughout her body. She spent days - years - laying in bed, watching TV, with a constant morphine supply that couldn't even ease the pain, getting out of the house only to see doctors, and confined to a wheelchair. Determined to heal this pain, and live a full life, she simply could not - would not - believe what every doctor told her: that there was no solution to heal her condition. In the countless hours of research on health and healing she had done since her accident, she remembered reading many stories of people getting well just taking the placebo - that is, the inactive pill, the non-remedy, to provide a control group for the study of a treatment. What if the solution to her dilemma lay outside of the traditional system of health and healing in our society... and in her own mind? What if... she could heal herself? As we can see meeting and listening to the vibrant, healthy, powerful Brandy of today, the answer was a resounding - YES. Today, Brandy walks with ease, strength, and free from any pain or support, sharing her message of empowerment, and teaching others how to heal themselves too. In this extraordinary conversation, learn all about Brandy's journey from chronic pain and desperation to power, vitality and purpose. Even if you do not suffer from physical pain, Brandy's story confirms for all of us that we have the power to create our own well being, that consciousness is the true power, and that each of us has more of it than we could ever possibly need. What do you think of as "normal"? From an early age, Daniel Eisenman questioned what he was told is "normal" - the standard way that he and others were supposed to be. At first, he played around with "breaking normal" - like many teenagers do - by challenging the rules set around him, and acting a bit reckless. But for the most part he stayed on track. After high school, he went to college, and chose to study pre-med, like all the good kids did, and like his parents wanted. He graduated and took the MCATs. But as applications to med school approached he started to question this "normal" path more fundamentally. Something within him knew there was more to his life, and his role in the world, and he decided to take a year off. That year has since become ten (& counting). He hasn't stopped or resumed his former course. Instead, what he found while taking time off from the prescribed path is that there are, actually, infinite ways to live your life. “Normal" is just a conditioned story - unique to each of us, and the story we specifically were told. At first, he sought how "to get paid to do the things he would pay to do", leading to all sorts of adventures that defy our normal beliefs about what we must do to make money. Along the way of following his fun, he saw his idea of fun change. What became most fun, and most exciting, actually, was being true to himself, and serving others in a way that was aligned with his values and beliefs. Every day for Daniel now is adventure in following his own fun, excitement and alignment. He travels often, around the country and the world, lives in vibrant health, enjoys a passionate love relationship, and these days, is most awed by his 1-year-old daughter, Divina, who last year became a viral star with him online as he OM'd her to sleep. Daniel is a real, open-hearted, generous guy who lives a wildly epic life and wants you to know you can, too. Enjoy! Kathleen Morton never understood why people seem to live by the same unwritten rules. As a child, she most enjoyed the sanctuary of her bedroom, where her natural creativity flourished. Like many of us, when she graduated high school and moved into the larger world, Kathleen believed, as her parents encouraged her to, that a traditional education and career path would bring her happiness, money and success in life. Returning home after college, one potential story of her life flashed before her eyes: hanging out with the same friends, doing the same things every day, in a mechanical urban environment and routine. Something inside her knew there was more to life, and called out for the vast, open expanses of nature, which spoke of unlimited possibility. She moved to Colorado, and soon, the city girl who didn't know how to hike found herself more and more at home in the outdoors. As she spent more time in nature, she began to question the way she lived, and the footprint she was making on the Earth. To live closer to nature, she bought a pop-up camper with her then boyfriend for $1,800. Finding space with a local family, she and her boyfriend made home there anew. They felt the changes of seasons and morning dew directly through the permeable camper walls, and comingled with the local wildlife. Kathleen wondered - finding more financial and personal freedom - why more people didn't live this way. What began as an experiment with tiny, off-grid living soon revealed itself as a calling, and a new story for Kathleen's life: to live closely and in flow with nature, minimize her impact on the environment, and tell her story - and those of others making life this way - to show others that this is, in fact possible, and maybe inspire them to do the same. Today, Kathleen lives and wanders through nature in a 1987 Toyota van, together with her dog, Peaches. She has created a blog and podcast where she tells her story and the stories of other van dwellers, and she serves this community by creating monthly #vanlife gatherings around the country, where the growing community of mobile, alternative home explorers can gather on the frontier, support one another in the lifestyle and movement they are pioneering. She talks in this intimate interview about what it's really like to live and work all over the country in a van, and why - despite the challenges - she feels endlessly fortunate that she is able to live in this way, enjoy the open freedom of her days, and create her own story of her life each day. In 1999 the film The Matrix was released. It told the story of a small band of renegades led by Morpheus and the prodigal son, Neo, breaking loose from a synthetic, lifeless reality they called "the matrix" and the eventual collapse of this artificial and controlling system. Since, the phrase "The Matrix" has become synonymous with the toxic life path promoted to us by institutions, the media, governments...you name it. People feel controlled, mechanical, limited. Within many of us, there is another voice which deeply knows these limits are artificial and false. This voice within is facilitating a mass awakening as more and more are creating lives outside of this matrix and inspiring others by their example to do the same. Our paths have been filled with questioning virtually every area of life where there is a status quo or accepted way of living, seeing past that into a broader, more expansive truth. In this episode, we chronicle our journey through 8 very specific points of departure from the old system creating life anew fully aligned with the truth of who we are. These are 8 highly actionable choices that have dramatically expanded our lives, improved our health and filled us with optimism and excitement. These range from changing our diets, to taking a deep look at our relationship with material things to our daily meditation practice, seeking more powerful and positive inputs and much, much more. In an effort to help others understand the vast range of possibilities available to them inspiring them to also see past the programming of the matrix making more empowered and expansive decisions, we have written an eBook detailing these 8 choices. This book, entitled "Exit The Matrix" is filled with hundreds of valuable tools & resources giving you the power to make similar powerful choices for yourself (ebook download link in the show notes). In this episode of the Ownstream Podcast, we reveal our "exit the matrix" story through the lens of these 8 categories. No more does anyone need to abide by the old rules in our world. There are millions forging a new reality, a new earth, right under our feet. "Exit The Matrix" is our gift to those seeking support in unplugging from this old matrix, or way of life, and join the march forward towards a society based on joy, community, abundance and...limitless living. OS58: Rodolfo Carrillo – Bridging Inner and Outer Worlds for Healing

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 5, 2018 90:23

Sometimes when we begin to meditate - and especially when our meditation practice takes off - we may feel that we are living a secret life. For Rodolfo Carrillo, the exploration of his "secret" inner life began at age 7, when his mother introduced him to meditation. He had fallen, and was experiencing some pain in his body. Until they could reach a doctor the next day to treat his injury, his mother told him to sit quietly, and together, they meditated, generating a healing energy. Despite broken bones in his foot, Rodolfo experienced only mild pain until he reached the doctor the next morning, who was in shock at his calm condition. Rodolfo began to practice meditation from that point forward, and devoured everything his mother shared with him about the subject and practice. Living in a uniformly Catholic Costa Rican culture, however, he kept his meditation life secret throughout his youth and young adulthood, all the while pursuing a fairly culturally traditional outer path - making grades, going to college, and starting a career in business. As he began to work closely with family businesses, it became clear that his true life purpose would call for the merging of his inner and outer lives - and specifically, would require him to bring forth the understanding he had cultivated in his inner life to offer healing in the outer. He now works in one life with individuals to remove their blockages in this way, as he continues in his other life to heal family businesses. The bridging of his inner and outer lives is live and in progress for Rodolfo, who explains that he is still understanding how best to bring forth his inner gifts to maximize his contribution to healing in the world. What is evident from our conversation is that Rodolfo is a truly gifted, intuitive seer and healer - one who has tapped through his inner life into a higher power for healing than one typically known or experienced in our society today - a power, that when bridged effectively into our society, will be pivotal in healing the world. Perhaps no other category of our society is in more desperate need of idealism than education. For many students, the schooling experience is one of severe anxiety and worry, of toxic and constant comparisons to others (via "grades"), the digestion and regurgitation of facts that seem far from being truly relevant to real life in our world today. Does this traditional system honor the innate gifts in a child, expressed as his or her excitement? Are we fostering innovation and inspiration, or are we building a dour workforce distanced from the truest sparks within? Envisioning then a new sort of school which allows a child to choose whatever path excites him or her seems to be of paramount importance. Along with a handful of friends, Abel McClennen helped found the La Paz Community School in Brasilito, Costa Rica some 11 years ago. Was there a way to bring foreign-born and local kids together, under the same roof, and build a school that prepared all of them for the rapidly changing world? Could this endeavor help the very diverse community come together? Could a school become akin to a community center, where all were welcome and encouraged to gather and realize their inherent sameness? Thus far, the experiment is working. What emerged in this conversation with Abel is not only a visionary, who is serving the world by helping to create an entirely new format for educating young people, but also a man on a mission, following his own excitement and passion. The combination is riveting. As you will see in this interview, Abel's love for his path pours into his every word. His excitement is palpable. Perhaps then what we are witnessing within the microcosm of La Paz is the true answer to the challenges of the world. Follow your excitement, what calls to you, and witness what creates itself via this simple axiom. After speaking with Abel, and experiencing the wondrous co-creation that he leads, it's clear that embodying this and passing this along to young people is an event worth celebrating. In fact, it could be the most important work happening on earth today. We are deeply honored to feature Abel's story, and his important work, in our series. Enjoy! Born into a fundamentalist Mormon family in rural Canada, Freyja (then, Catherine) was taught to keep her head down and not raise her voice. At age 15, she entered into an arranged marriage as the second wife of a 25-year-old polygamist man, and joined his community. She spent the next 28 years raising 12 children in this marriage, and abiding by the repressive rules set for women, wives and mothers in the community. One day, she attended a training to grow herself and her work, and something awakened inside of her - she got a taste of what the full power of God really felt like and the vast freedom, possibility, and Power she had within. Returning back to her marriage and community, she couldn't put away what she had experienced. She was permanently changed, and could no longer believe that she and her life were supposed to be so small. So, she did the unthinkable: she left. From that point on, as she followed her own truth and power, everything changed, and her life was set ablaze with magic. Having spent years in a loveless, sexless marriage, she began writing with purpose and passion about the relationship she wanted and deserved. Two weeks later, she met her new husband, life partner, and partner in life purpose, Michael. Having long been called to be a healer, Freyja discovered a modality for which she was uniquely and divinely suited to share with others - Integrative Orgasmic Healing. IOH applies deep sustained bodywork to specific pressure points that store physical, mental, energetic and emotional trauma to release adopted identity limitations and create space for a new reality to emerge. The results are transformative. For Freyja, where once existed a quiet, fearful, obedient wife, has risen a powerful, soulful woman, purpose-driven healer, loving and sensual partner, and abundantly joyful mother. She prioritizes joy, pleasure and purpose as her divine birthrights, and as the gateways to living her calling on this planet. At a time when women are coming forth to bare their repression to the world, and at a time when it is becoming obvious to most that this repression is, in fact, universal, the transformative power of this work for individual women and for our collective is immeasurable. We are deeply honored to share Freyja's story with you on this week's Ownstream Podcast. Enjoy! The post OS56: Freyja Inanna – Reclaiming Her Voice, True Power & Purpose appeared first on Ownstream.

Often we accept things we've been taught or told, until one day something strikes us as being a bit "off", and we begin to ask questions. For Ross Lukeman, that something was the traditional story we've been taught about home ownership and freedom. That is, if you own a home, you have achieved the American Dream. It struck Ross as strange that people buy homes, believing this story, then design the rest of their lives around paying for that home - staying in jobs they don't like to pay a mortgage, putting off the things they really want to do, and living that way sometimes for the rest of their lives. He also found it strange that he never learned about any types of "alternative" dwellings in architecture school, only the mainstream ways of building and making a home. So Ross began probing a question that gets to the very heart of how we live and enjoy our lives: What other types of homes are possible, and, specifically, what type of home will maximize a person's experience of freedom? He created a website dedicated to this question, and traveled across the country interviewing people building and living in all kinds of homes he hadn't learned about in school: strawbale homes, earthships, and even, vans. As it tends to happen when a person follows their natural interest, a calling emerged for Ross. What he found in his search was that the type of home that will create the greatest freedom depends actually on the individual - and what's most exciting and expansive for them, specifically. For Ross, what quickly became the most exciting was #vanlife. He started living in his own van, and now he helps people do that - online course, van builds. This is how we learned of him, his van conversion resources that are online (see shownotes for links to all of Ross' resources). If you've ever wanted to live more simply, build your own home, explore another way of living, this episode is for you. Enjoy! How many people talk about spending more time in nature? Yearn for time outside, in the ocean, forest, mountains? When we lived in NYC, talk of getting into nature was practically a mantra on the street. The thing is, while most people feel a call to nature, few end up spending much time there. Not so for Amy Schrift. After a heavy dinner out in the city, Amy felt a call to feed her body more naturally. That week, she discovered a living foods diet, and began eating only raw fruits and vegetables--a lifestyle she maintained for 8 years. Step by step, she reshaped her life in NYC to live as naturally as possible. She spent as much time as she could in the parks; learned where to forage fruit in upper Manhattan; shut the lights off at sunset; even slept on the floor of her high-rise studio apartment to ground herself. As she experienced it, something far beyond her was calling—she was being drawn forward by a deep force within and without, toward a more vibrant, awake, and powerful life than she had ever known. Through her, a new vision for her life emerged into being. Within two years, she was led to a parcel of wild, undomesticated land in Costa Rica. On the land, Amy lived for many years alone--or as she says "all one"--with nature. She slept under the stars without cover; planted and ate from the land; worked the fields naked in the sun; and co-created a farm and home together with her land, water, and air. Thirteen years later, the effect that this way of living has had on Amy is palpable immediately upon coming into her space. She brings a presence, awareness and clarity that are extremely rare today in our busy times. She is clearly at home and has become one with nature, its pace and rhythms. Imagine who you could be and how you might live if you heeded the call inside of you. There could be an entirely new person and a wild, open, expansive life awaiting you on the other side of that call. If you have ever felt a call to nature, and wondered how it might change you or your life, you will be riveted by this interview. Enjoy! We've felt called here, through various channels. In many ways, it feels right and true to be here. Much feels aligned to who we are and our values. But, as far as a specific place to be (i.e. city or town), we've yet to find it. What we find interesting is how clearly we have been led to Santa Teresa, Costa Rica and how, after being here awhile, it's clearly not the place for us. What it is is another breadcrumb along the path, leading us somewhere - a "where" that isn't exactly clear yet. And so, we are here in Costa Rica, actively looking and exploring and have yet to find a spot that really rings the bell. Sure, there is plenty more travel to come - Dominical/Uvita, Samara/Nosara, Tamarindo. But, we felt it would be valuable to drop into this space with you and share about how the quest of pursuing your dreams looks like after you've departed and...before you've arrived. We present here a very candid and true portrait - in real time - of a young, western family adapting to life in another country on the hunt for a place we can truly call home. All the challenges and conditions that naturally emerge when you go for it, but aren't there yet. For people who long for another way of life, but who might be hesitant - we hope to share here a behind the scenes view of what it actually looks like. We know this because while interviewing this week's guest, Marvin Rockwell at his home in Monteverde, describing his epic journey there from Alabama in 1948, we pulled it up on Google maps. Of course, the internet wasn't at the disposal of Marvin and the small community of Quakers heading south from Alabama in 1948 on their way to Costa Rica. Nor were fully completed roads. Marvin and three other men had just completed a year and a day sentence for evading the American draft, recently implemented to staff up the Korean War. Deeply against killing another, the group sought more peaceful pastures, and was drawn to Costa Rica given its warm, welcoming climate and recent decision to ban their military…entirely. In this episode, Marvin shares his remarkable story. He also talks about how Costa Rica has changed over the years, and how it hasn't (it still has no military and a strong commitment to peace, for example). We learn about how he and others started the Quaker community in Monteverde, how they learned to farm and make a living there, how they tried (and failed) to construct an airstrip, the various adventures he has had since and the one key element that has allowed him to do so many different things over the years following his own, unique path. Marvin Rockwell quite literally blazed his own path in the world and his story will inspire you to do the same. Enjoy! Once you begin to question one area of life, the lies suddenly begin to unravel everywhere. Along the way, you are likely to encounter all sorts of characters shouting their version of the "real story" from the rooftops. When you find someone as eloquent, trustworthy and well-researched as Dr. Pam Popper, however, you grab your seat and listen. As you will find, she held nothing back in this, our second conversation (she also appears on episode #6). She starts off with a bang, describing her concern with the over-medication of Americans for mental illness, pointing out that the commonly held notion of a "chemical imbalance in the brain" has no research base. She goes on to call into serious question the safety and value of vaccines, powerfully illuminates the profound dysfunction and profit motives in our system of modern medicine, and concludes with critical health care recommendations that can benefit everyone. While we discuss some challenging topics, where we are always ultimately left at the end of conversations like this one with Dr. Popper is with profound hope, marveling at the natural power and grace of the human body. It seems that if we simply nourish it properly and avoid or eliminate the toxins that the modern world promotes, it functions beautifully, quite capable of living a long and healthy life. Certainly, this formula is playing out perfectly for Pam. She is now 61 and has no vision of retiring or slowing down. She owns her own gym and yoga studio, eats a whole-foods plant-based diet, works around the clock as a doctor and teacher (by choice and loves it), and pumps out two videos and a ton of content each week spreading the truth about some of the most controversial health issues of our time. If the truth about nutrition, drugs, disease and the human body interests you, you will hang on Dr. Popper's every word. Enjoy! For Natalie Sisson, doing anything which doesn't feel good for too long sets off an internal alarm. So, some 10 years ago, after too many days of feeling "off" at a corporate job...she quit. What's remarkable about her decision is that she didn't have a solid plan for what to do afterwards, but took the leap anyway. What unfolded from there is truly epic: 70 countries in 7 years, multiple online programs helping other digital nomads, a very popular podcast, her own book and a vast array of experiences that many only dream about. And, as she describes in this week's Ownstream Podcast, she mainly follows the simple breadcrumb trail of her excitement. She is comfortable not knowing what lays past the horizon. This outlook has given her the amazing ability to leap where others might balk. And, it has given her the conviction that others can do the same. She recently gave up the digital nomad lifestyle and now owns land in New Zealand and, with her partner, has a new vision of freedom and service. What's wonderful about this conversation is that Natalie believes that anyone can do this. The path she has walked isn't for the few. It's for those who decide it's for them. Consider yourself warned: this conversation might give you the clarity and motivation to decide to take the leap yourself. Enjoy! Many dream of it, but very few actually do it: sell it all and move to paradise. For Nadine Pisani, it took her husband being hospitalized for 10 days for her to realize that their way of life as chiropractors in Pennsylvania wasn't working. A short time later, they walked off a plane in Costa Rica and knew immediately they had done the right thing. Since that time, they have stopped working so much, fostered all sorts of other creative interests and have fallen back in love with life and each other. In this episode, we talk specifically about her transition from living in the US to a full-timer in Costa Rica. Included in this is how her writing career took off (she has now authored 4 books), how they built their own B&B near Tamarindo and their daily coffee dance (something about fresh, Costa Rican coffee...). What surprises or challenges awaited them? What was it like transitioning to an entirely different (and slower) way of life? What is it actually like now some years later - was it all worth it? If you have ever dreamed of leaving it all behind and moving to paradise, you will love this episode. Nadine Pisani and her husband Rob did it and found a flourishing, vibrant and joyful life awaiting them in paradise. It wasn't always a straight path, but it has definitely been worth it. Enjoy! It is said that the inherent challenges of being an actor will rather naturally weed out those without the true bug in their system. If this is true, Matt Mitler must be completely consumed by it. His ambition though is not for fame nor fortune, as his interest in those conventional notions of success has waned as he and his work have matured. Instead, it is the tantalizing quest for truth, expansion and - perhaps most of all - the urgent need to serve others using his art. Imagine this: a group of actors wholly dedicated to the audience - be it in a theater, church or hospital - rather then the aggrandizement of themselves or the whole. In your picture, be certain that the troupe is imminently skilled, expressive, nimble and daring - all at once. This is Matt Mitler's utopia of sorts, his beloved group Dzieci Theatre, laden with some of the finest performers in New York City (including Matt himself). Dzieci's aim is to utilize theater and performance as a means for the personal evolution of the actor and the blooming of the heart in the audience. In this interview, we discuss the evolution of Matt's art and how seemingly every aspect of his career and the evolution of Dzieci has existed outside of the traditional box. We explore how Matt's amazing path has been in service to a hidden taste for truth, and that by trusting the calling of sorts, Matt's journey has brought him all sorts of surprises and connections. We also probe Matt's remarkable history having studied with directors Jerzy Grotowski & Eugenio Barba, the actor Ryszard Cieslak, humanistic psychologist Carl Rogers and more. Ultimately, this is a story of following one's unique taste for truth, and when mixed with a little faith, how this simple approach creates something remarkable, rich and imminently meaningful. Upon the passing of her dear grandfather though, some parts of herself began to open up, revealing a vastly different blueprint for living than the one she previously assumed. She began receiving messages - very clear ones - related to a deeper calling or capacity that she had barely tapped. "You're a healer", she heard. After hearing this exciting message, she quickly went to google (as you do) to learn more. The first search result was a modality of healing that rang the bell for her -ThetaHealing®. That night, she attended a nearby workshop, cleared some blockages in her psyche and became an immediate believer. In other words, she moved quickly, acting on her excitement with confidence. The results were startling. Two short years later, Hemma has a thriving healing business, helping others to clear their blockages and step into their life paths with full power, and leads powerful trainings enabling others to uncover their healing talents. She also has a unique specialty which is to empower spiritual entrepreneurs to fully own their power and their path. In this episode we discuss her stunning life change, how she became so confident to act quickly and decisively on her excitement and how easy and swift it can be to heal old wounds and traumas. Then, she did the unthinkable...she asked for help. We were the fortunate recipients of her call, and for the last 6 months have witnessed one of the most dramatic life turnarounds we have ever seen. She now runs her own online business, joyfully helping others to radically love their lives, sets her own schedule, spends more time with family and feels awake, empowered and fully alive. Our reason for featuring Benita is that she is most accessible - she is not a best-selling author, she doesn't have an intensely (and therefore unrelatable) dramatic story, nor does she have thousands of followers on Instagram (yet). What she has is a very real turnaround story complete with confusion, bold decisions, angst, awareness and, eventually, triumph. Our hope is that by hearing her so beautifully share her story, YOUR transformation will seem more possible. We believe it is, and know that there is magic in each of us waiting for us to nudge it into bloom. Benita is a tremendous example of what can happen when the right client and coaching come together. When presented with the idea of “world schooling” as a replacement for formal, classroom education, most parents typically default into various forms of knee-jerk reactions: "What about having friends? How can you cultivate a social circle while on the move? What about college? Does this style of education prepare you for university? How will my son/daughter get a job if they aren't formally educated?” These questions are certainly valid but usually point to one's own programming and a lack of clarity on what world schooling truly means. Enter Hannah Miller, the self-described "Edventure Girl". From the ages of 11-18 she, along with her three younger siblings, was officially "world schooled". Along the way, Hannah encountered profound adventures and a deep appreciation for the world and it's vast and vibrant cultural landscape. And, she has made many friends, is currently enrolled in one of Canada's most prestigious universities (Queens University in Kingston, Ontario) and has a remarkably evolved outlook on the notion of career and work which she directly attributes to being educated outside of the box. Quite simply, he sold it all back in an effort to reclaim his and his family's freedom. Unlike many who spend their lives addicted to the accumulation of material goods, Didi was able to take a step back and see that - in fact - the "stuff" was taking away from his happiness, creating more stress, worry and anxiety. So, he sold everything and with his wife & 3 girls, traveled the world. But, the question remained - what to do with all the money made? In keeping with his unconventional pattern of defying the norm, Didi invested all of it - every last dime - in cryptocurrencies. And this has turned him into a fascinating story for the media and an inspiration for us. This episode of the Ownstream Podcast features Didi and his story, but also reveals - in laymen's terms - what cryptocurrencies are (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc), clarifies the brilliance of the blockchain and, most importantly, reveals what drives him and his family more than anything else (and how their motivation has nothing to do with making money). Author, dad and farmer Ben Hewitt has emerged as one of the leaders in the alternative education movement. For over a decade he and his wife Penny have explored the nuances of "unschooling" their kids (a word they admittedly dislike). Basically, the idea is to give kids room to explore, follow their excitement and then - as parents - step in and facilitate, add enthusiasm and get out of the way. The result are two boys who are independent, confident and highly expressed. This road has led them through all manner of peaks and valleys, which we explore in this conversation. What happened when Ben's eldest son wasn't reading by the (supposed) "correct" time? What did Ben and Penny do when they discovered their youngest son trapping animals on their farm? How did they respond when their eldest suddenly desired a traditional school/educational experience? And, what are their views of the standard educational system in the west now with over 10 years of experience behind them? We discuss this and much, much more with Ben Hewitt in this Ownstream Podcast interview. Mostly, we delve into the remarkable nature of learning and creativity and how joyful and expansive it can be if we simply allow kids to follow their own excitement, and then, do the hardest thing: let go. Initially, it was medical practices and treatments that didn't seem to deliver their promised results. This led to her highly successful magazine "What Doctors Don't Tell You". She never expected her life's journey to propel her into the study of spirituality, consciousness and healing. But, as is so often the case, our path can sometimes be surprising as it leads us to our destiny of fulfillment and service. This has certainly been the case for Lynne as she now explores the power of small groups of people (8, in fact) that - together - focus on a collective intention aiming to positively impact others. These intentions range from lowering the death tolls in war-torn areas to healing a disease in a specific person. The results are astonishing, most notably in the group members themselves. Seems all sorts of miracles can flow once we focus on serving others. These amazing results form the basis of this week's Ownstream podcast interview with Lynne. Cara Thomas was stuck. She was tired of her day job, her relationship had just ended, New York was wearing her out. She knew that life could be more than this, so like more and more people, she dropped it all and headed to Asia. She purchased a 1-way ticket to Mumbai, and did not look back. Prior to her departure, inspiration struck - ask her closest friends to give her small challenges to do along the way, enabling her to both pursue adventure but also invite serendipity and spontaneity into her daily experience. Since she loosely planned to be away for 90 days, she asked for (and received) 90 cards. These actions ranged from paying it forward by purchasing a treat for someone behind you in line to asking a stranger for a mantra. So, of course one of these led her to meeting Steven Tyler in a Bangkok hotel and the other...to connecting with us in a cafe in Ubud, Bali. We've been pals ever since, and we're honored to share her wonderfully organic entrepreneurial journey with you. She shares here how "Serenflipity" has naturally grown into a full-blown business, how travel helped her get unstuck in her life, her 90-day structure to life experiments and how serendipity is less “magic” and more a state of mind, available to anyone, anytime. Fierce determination. This describes the look on Theresa's face after watching the documentary, "Forks Over Knives". Having always suspected that her diet was "off" & while currently watching her father suffer from cancer (which, as she learned in the film, is directly connected to eating meat and dairy), Theresa's mission became clear: transition to the whole food, plant-based (WFPB) diet and, then, help others do the same. The result has been a dramatic transition across virtually every area of her life - weight loss, sleep, fitness, focus, feeling connected with nature, even the birth of her daughter - all directly helped by her diet. On this episode of the Ownstream Podcast, she discusses the 4 steps to effectively transition from any diet to the WFPB diet, the myths surrounding protein and calcium, she reveals her dramatic history with food, health, body image and healing and so much more, plus how you can work with her to help enact these dramatic changes in your life too. Khe Hy had it made (so to speak). He was a rising star at a major firm on Wall St, was receiving regular bonuses he simply couldn't possibly spend and was admired by anyone who met or knew him. And yet...he wasn't happy. On Khe's scale, he was about a 6 or 6.5 out of 10. Much to his surprise, money did not equate to happiness. So, he did what virtually no one does in that position - he quit. Nowadays, some two years later, the Khe Hy happiness quotient floats around 9.5 out of 10 on most days, he makes plenty of money (though not nearly as much as before) and he shares valuable content via his rapidly growing "RadReads" list, talks to millennials on SnapChat daily and dotes on his daughter, wife and friends. He has realized one of life's best kept secrets: happiness is a choice, and from it stem all sorts of wonders. Khe's life now reveals this truth, and his story is sure to inspire anyone loaded down in a career or life path that doesn't truly excite them. We are honored to include Khe's story on this episode of the Ownstream Podcast. Enjoy!
