Je suis partie à Angers. Interviewer Doudou. Christophe Davy.Book or Die c'est lui !

for episode 126, it's time to celebrate my favorite week on the musical calendar as we preview the annual Austin edition of the Levitation Festival. As always, it's an absolute musical embarrassment ….OF RICHES, my friends. Why are there only 4 appearances by the Osees? Why not 40? Are 2 nights really enough for King Gizzard Lizard Wizard Dairy Queen Blizzard? Can a room the size of the former Beerland possibly contain the charisma of Christian “Truth In Advertising” Bland? I THINK NOT. Tune in this week and I'll help you make your Levitation Fest schedule and I'll even be giving away a pair of tickets to see Acid Dad (second prize is 4 tickets to see Acid Dad).
Florida kind of stuff, a fake photo assistant, and playing at an active military base. Trevor Mustoe (Acid Dad) "Acid Dad is an American alternative-rock band composed of singer-guitarists, Vaughn Hunt and Sean Fahey, and drummer, Trevor Mustoe. Vaughn first started recording the band in his Bushwick, NY basement releasing singles “Brain Body” and their first EP “Let's Plan a Robbery.” Appearing live in the New York City rock scene in 2016, Acid Dad quickly moved to a world stage with their self-titled debut album in 2018." Welcome to Roadcase, a podcast exploring the live music experience!! Join us for this great conversation with Vaughn Hunt of Acid Dad, whose uber-cool neo-psych and post-punk vibes can be heard on their latest album, Take It From the Dead on Greenway Records and Levitation's The Reverberation Appreciation Society. Acid Dad's sound nods to the great psychedelic bands of the 60s and 70s, and their live performance vibe recalls the groovy 60s ballroom shows full of visual excitement and stellar psychedelic video trippiness. Vaughn and his bandmates, Sean Fahey and Trevor Mustoe recently came back from a US tour with Frankie and the Witch Fingers and they also just finished rocking several stages at Levitation Fest in Austin, TX. So hop aboard the Roadcase bus and tune in to hear what's up with Vaughn and find out where Acid Dad is headed next on its journey to the heart of the psych-rock universe. It's a great ride!!For more information: https://linktr.ee/roadcasepod and https://www.roadcasepod.comContact: info@roadcasepod.comTheme music: "Eugene" (Instrumental)" by Waltzer

Top story this week has to be the blackout that hit west Manhattan. Coming 42 years to the day after the 1977 blackout from last week's show, this year's power outage was much less dramatic and lasted only a few hours. ConEd CEO John McAvoy described the failure of both the primary and backup protection systems at a power substation at 64th Street and West End Avenue, leading to power outages once the system was interrupted by a subsequent substation at 49th Street. Although the blackout wasn't caused by a spike in electricity usage, the heat is still on in the city, with daily high temps in the 90s. In response, cooling centers have been opened across the city in senior centers, public housing, and public libraries. On July 18th, Mayor de Blasio signed a local state of emergency that calls on city government buildings and all office buildings over 100 feet tall to conserve energy and set their thermostats no lower than 78°. Temperatures are set to rise and humidity will increase, leading to heat indexes over 100° before rain arrives on July 22nd. You can do your part by turning off your air conditioner when leaving your home and using public transportation instead of driving, which will keep the air quality clear during the heat wave. If you'll be opening your windows to get some ventilation, you can install safety devices called vent locks for sash windows or metal clips for sliding windows that make sure windows can't be forced all the way open from the outside. 5 years ago on July 17, 2014 — Eric Garner dies after being put in a chokehold by NYPD officers 12 years ago on July 18, 2007 — A steam pipe explodes near Grand Central, sending debris flying and disrupting Midtown during evening rush hour 1 year ago on July 19, 2018 — A steam pipe explodes near the Flatiron Building, causing a large crater outside 141 Fifth Avenue Be aware of your surroundings during this time of year, as two of city's steam explosions have happened during just this week in history. Acid Dad first appeared in the New York scene at the outset of 2015. After spending the year self-releasing demos recorded at their studio in upstate New York, the band garnered local praise from the likes of Oh My Rockness, Brooklyn Vegan, Consequence of Sound and Stereogum. After releasing their debut EP “Let’s Plan a Robbery” in February of 2016, followed by their first sold out show at Baby’s All Right, Acid Dad embarked upon a two month tour of the United States. Fresh off their first tour, which included numerous SXSW performances as well as appearances on Daytrotter, Audiotree and Jam in the Van, the band headed straight back to work in their upstate New York recording studio. While recording, Acid Dad continued to play one-offs alongside their contemporaries including Thee Oh Sees, Diarrhea Planet, Night Beats and White Reaper. At the outset of 2017 the band began writing, demoing and recording with the intention of creating their debut full length. Now part of the Greenway Records family, the album is slated for a Spring 2018 released followed by a world-wide tour. •••• The B-Side Podcast is produced by Charlie Hoxie, Kecia Cole, Ro Johnson and Sachar Mathias; recorded by Onel Mulet and Steve de Seve; and edited by Emily Boghossian and Khyriel Palmer.
