Piše Leonora Flis, bereta Aleksander Golja in Maja Moll.

In this deeply personal and transformational episode, Eve sits down with Britton and Carolee Beckham, a married couple who share their powerful journey of healing, reconnection, and radical redefinition of love, sex, and spirituality. Raised in the Mormon church and bound by purity culture, Britton and Carolee candidly open up about the infidelity that rocked their marriage, the church's damaging response, and how plant medicine, spiritual deconstruction, and sacred sexuality led them to a new foundation—one built on truth, desire, and liberation. From psilocybin journeys to moon rituals, from shame to self-love, this episode dives into: The impact of religious conditioning on sex and identity Why traditional approaches to healing didn't work—and what did The role of plant medicine (including their first mushroom ceremony) in spiritual awakening How moon cycles and ritual baths became a gateway to feminine empowerment The transformative power of sexual reeducation and ISTA training Why radical honesty was the key to saving—and elevating—their marriage Whether you're navigating your own healing, redefining your relationship with sex, or exploring spirituality beyond religion, this episode is a permission slip to do it your way—with love, courage, and full-body liberation. In this episode of the Love, Sex, and Leadership podcast, Aaron interviews Raffaello Manacorda, a lead faculty member at ISTA who has dedicated years to the study and teaching of Tantra. They explore the concept of embodied spirituality, contrasting it with ascetic paths that deny the body and emotions. Raffaello shares his journey and the 'why' that drives his work, emphasizing the importance of understanding emotions, relationships, and sexuality from a deeply embodied perspective. They delve into the challenges of integrating sexual education within spiritual teachings and the societal resistance often encountered. Raffaello discusses his balance between roles, managing both dark and light masculine energies, and the ongoing process of personal and professional growth. The conversation also touches on the transformational experiences in ISTA's retreats and Raffaello's upcoming projects focused on archetypes and money. The episode concludes with practical advice for integrating personal growth work into everyday life and relationships.
The International School of Temple Arts (ISTA) utilizes the Large Group Awareness Training (LGAT) model. It focuses on sexual intimacy with the promise of spiritual transformation. Cara gives a fascinating account of her eight-year marriage to a one-on-on guru, who claimed to be descended from both Mesmer and Gurdjieff. She then relates her intriguing experiences with ISTA which breaks down sexual barriers as an LGAT. Cara now questions the ethics and possible negative consequences of ISTA as well as ISTA's refusal to take responsibility for those consequences or change practices that can have harmful consequences. Dave has a long experience of LGATs. They are part of a discussion about the ethics and efficacy of LGATs and are in discussion with others who have worked as trainers to see if there is an ethical framework in which group encounter can be safely and productively applied.Links:Korean Mock "Funerals" for a better lifeIra Chaleff's work on Courageous Followership and Intelligent DisobedienceLippman's Socrates for Six-Year-OldsMore on the Bear-Fedio indexMore on Decult

In this episode, Elle and Vee go deep with Adam Darrow, the author of Seek the Risk: One Man's Journey Into Non-Monogamy. Described as a "firsthand recounting of a wide-open relationship, told with unflinching candor from the male perspective", Elle and Vee were struck by the relatability of Adam's ENM story in Seek the Risk, from the overthinking and jealousy to the adventurous sex and deep connection in his relationship. His firsthand account of how he worked through the challenging emotional moments of his relationship with "the wrong girl" is FULL of nuggets, many of which are mentioned in this deep, candid, vulnerable conversation. Grab a pen and dig in :) What does Seek the Risk mean? "Experience hunting" rather than "trophy bagging". (2:52)Applying the Seek the Risk philosophy to CNM (consensual non monogamy).

MINOT — For the first time ever we took the Plain Talk podcast on the road, to famed bar, restaurant, and political hangout Peacock Alley. We interviewed Senate Majority Leader David Hogue and House Minority Leader Zac Ista. We also interviewed a couple of former lawmakers, Jessica Bell and Erin Oban. The theme of the night? The legislature is going to have to change. Bell and Oban talked about how much the Legislature changed, both during their time and since. Things have become more performative and less productive. Hogue and Ista talked about the struggles to get through more than a thousand proposed bills while still giving each of them the scrutiny and consideration they deserve. All of this is happening as both North Dakota, and the nation, go through a sometimes baffling political realignment, and North Dakota, specifically, has a new term limits law for lawmakers looming. What can North Dakota do to ensure that the Legislature can continue to serve our state well, without veering off into the morass of dysfunction that's reality in Washington D.C.? We also talked about tough fights taking place in the current legislative session over sentencing, property taxes, and more. This episode is brought to you by the North Dakota Petroleum Foundation, providing education and outreach opportunities related to the petroleum industry, advancing quality of life initiatives, and promoting and enhancing the conservation heritage of North Dakota. Is Attorney General Drew Wrigley's office wasting money on unnecessary litigation? Is North Dakota's Republican majority in the Legislature being something less than good stewards of our fiscal resources by passing controversial bills that invite litigation? House Minority Leader Zac Ista, who led his caucus in voting against approving attitional litigation funds for Wrigley's office at a recent meeting of the Legislature's Budget Section committee, joined this episode of Plain Talk to discuss it. Though, given that one of the laws currently being litigated is North Dakota's restrictive ban on most abortions, that dominated the conversation, which had my co-host Chad Oban calling me "raging Rob." Admittedly, I have been a bit feisty lately. But abortion litigation isn't the only cost North Dakota is facing. The biggest line item for litigation costs recently is related to our state's suit against the federal government over the expenses associated with responding to the violent, protracted protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline. And aren't we prone to seeing the efficacy of any given litigation through the lens of our feelings about the policy being litigated? Isn't it natural that Democrats might not like the policy and legal priorities of a Republican majority, and a Republican attorney general? Rep. Ista answered those questions and more. Also on this episode, we discuss the odds of Measure 4 passing on the November ballot. To subscribe to Plain Talk, search for the show wherever you get your podcasts, or use one of the links below. This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. In this episode, we're joined by international journalist Anke Richter for a conversation about her decade-long investigation into sex cults and her own brush with ISTA, a shamanic ‘school' from the US with a base in New Zealand. Anke's recently published book CULT TRIP covers her labyrinthine investigation into how and why cults attract, entrap and destroy otherwise ordinary people, and asks what the line is between tribe and cult, participant and perpetrator, seduction and sexual abuse. We'll also touch on NZ as a hotspot in the ever-expanding cultiverse, from Centrepoint to Gloriavale - and why Anke's spearheading DECULT 2024, the country's first cult awareness conference. For a small-ish country you have some big cult problems, NZ. Time to get thee to a cult awareness conference! SHOWNOTES: Anke Richter is an international journalist based in Christchurch and the author of the international bestseller "CULT TRIP: Inside the world of coercion and control" (HarperCollins, 2022), as well as three other books published in Germany. Prior to relocating to New Zealand in 2003 via Tokelau in the South Pacific to serve as a foreign correspondent, Anke worked as a reporter in Germany. Her investigative and personal features have been published in various renowned outlets such as Die Zeit, Spiegel, FAZ, taz, mare, New Zealand Geographic, North & South, The Spinoff, Canvas, Sunday (Stuff), Listener, The Fair Observer, among others. Anke has also contributed to several New Zealand documentaries as a researcher and associate producer. As a public speaker, she addresses topics such as cult awareness, coercive control, and identifying red flags in the wellness industry. Anke is a co-founder of FACT Aotearoa (Fight Against Conspiracy Theories), actively involved in combatting misinformation. Additionally, Anke is the founder and director of DECULT 2024, the first cult awareness conference in New Zealand.
