Catholic Diocese of Saginaw Podcast
Amidst chaos and division, Bishop Gruss shares message of Hope

In his homily during Holy Hour at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption on Thursday September 24 - which was a National Day of Prayer and Fasting for God’s mercy and healing - Bishop Gruss began by describing the current condition of the country. “Our country is in chaos right now,” Bishop Gruss said. “Divisions run deep. Division is all across our lands. Very sadly, death and destruction have become the norm these days in this country. My dear friends, this is not what the Lord desires for us- death and destruction. This is not who we are as a country.”Despite the current environment, Bishop Gruss reminded the faithful that “nothing is too difficult for us when the power of God is working in our lives. This is the Gospel we must preach everywhere we go.” Bishop Gruss encouraged the faithful to not only pray for the nation, but for a personal conversion of the heart. “We must ask God tonight to reveal what we need to change in ourselves. That’s at the heart of repentance, asking Jesus what we need to change in ourselves.” “In a very beautiful way, I think, we've been called to conversion. Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world, he came to save it.” [John 3:17]“What a beautiful invitation to conversion, no? But it’s for all of us and it’s a lifelong process and you and I are called into this process every day. And the more we submit to God and ask for help in seeing what we need to change, the more he opens our minds to recognize our faults and our weaknesses, leading to true repentance and true conversion. The conversion of our country, I believe, happens one person at a time and it begins with each one of us.” Bishop Gruss reminded the faithful of God’s grace saying, “Let us first of all thank him for the redemptive graces offered through his suffering, death and resurrection. They are infinite. These graces are infinite. And our merciful God desires to pour them out upon us anew, again, now, tonight. We must pray for them over the whole country because the Lord desires and he will use our prayers to pour them out all across our country ...”EXPERIENCE MORE HOMILIES AND PRESENTATIONS BY BISHOP ROBERT GRUSSYou can download any of our recordings and listen using a smartphone (or computer) while busy at home, while driving and more- just like radio. New Show. New Schedule. New naming scheme. Welcome to the first episode of Season 5 of Running on Rooftops! We are catching up to all* the Marvel and DC movies we missed since we last recorded, as well as review the newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel. New Schedule Similar to our plans for last season, we are aiming for 2 episodes a month.  The goal is to release one movie-related episode a month. When we started Running on Rooftops in 2015, the landscape of comic book TV shows was quite different. Four years later, there's over 3 times the amount of shows available on multiple platforms, and it has gotten too difficult to keep up with everything. We still like podcasting and while there are too many shows, there relatively fewer movies.  By focusing on movie reviews, we can deliver more content with less stress. For the second episode of the month, anything goes! We looked back at all the different types of podcasts we've produced since 2015, and asked ourselves "What have we most enjoyed doing?"  With this in mind, we are going to try doing more sprints, reviews, interviews, and more. Movie Catch Up Want to hear our opinion on all the comic book movies that came out since Avengers: Infinity War? Too bad! We forgot about Deadpool 2! Phil and Darryl give their opinions on Ant-Man and the Wasp, Venom, Spider-Man: Enter the Spiderverse and Aquaman. Captain Marvel We welcome Captain Marvel to the MCU with a review of the Marvel's 21st new movie. How do we feel about the first Marvel movie of 2019? Does this movie party like it's 1995? Welcome back to the Gaming With Gage, your podcast for roleplaying games and the periphery.Thank you for being here! This week I had the chance to talk with Christoff Visscher of Cantrip Candles. If the name sounds familiar it’s because we burn Cantrip Candles when we record our Who’s Agatha actual play. Cantrip Candles are crafted for Tabletop Roleplaying Games with scents like Stonemoss Chapel, Black Hound Tavern and The Library Scriptorium. We love these candles and I was so pleased that Christoff was able to come on the show.We did have a small audio issue that resulted in the first couple minutes of the show being cut. If it seems like Christoff and I are fast friends in the middle of conversation it’s because of this audio issue and because Christoff is a really cool person.Keep in touch with us on Our Website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Discord! Please subscribe, rate and review the show on iTunes and AndroidSubscribe on Apple PodcastSubscribe on AndroidNow let’s jump into Episode 6 with Christoff Visscher
