Hello! You've reached episode 601!! In this episode, host Erin Lim talks with Respect director Liesl Tommy about this major motion picture that tells the traumatic younger years of the Queen of Soul - Aretha Franklin. Aretha's young life was fraught with death, rape, as well as controlling, toxic men. Director Liesel Tommy wanted to tell that part of Aretha's herstory which is exactly what she does with a thoughtful eye on balancing all of the beauty and horrors of Aretha's life. This was Liesl Tommy's first feature film and she had to fight for a lot of the scenes you will see when you watch Respect. We're so glad that she did and we're also happy about the attention she paid to Aretha's time spent in Muscle Shoals at the famous FAME studios where she recorded her first big hit I Never Loved A Man The Way That I Love You.  Erin and Liesl talk about the choice of using the  b.roll from Martin Luther King's funeral (Aretha was friends and worked with the Reverend), her father's famous parties which included folks like Smokey Robinson who is brilliantly played by actor Lodric D. Collins, and working with the exceptional Kris Bowers who scores the film. Psst, Kris was on our show earlier this year talking about his short film - A Concerto is a Conversation.  There's so much to talk about including the costumes (leopard print caftan y'all!) plus hair and makeup so let's go!Respect is in theaters NOW.Follow Liesl Tommy on Instagram & Twitter--Thanks for listening and for your support! HE's a former safety and current color commentator for the Carolina Panthers, and don't you dare call him your "friend" until he really is. SHE's a former Ohio State soccer player and just about the sweetest human alive. On this episode of "Date Night with Jake and Page," Kurt and Laura Coleman join your hosts in the bonus room studio for a day-date brought to you by 1800 watermelon margaritas. Apologies for all the ice tinkling heard throughout, and "You're welcome," to Laura's sister who it sounds like might have had more than her fair share of those as a third wheel on Kurt and Laura's first date.* Throughout this episode Kurt talked openly about the grudges he's held against teams that fired him, how he's overcome these grudges, what it's been like calling games for the Panthers, how Andy Reid's wife Tammy essentially proposed to Laura, and his almost troubling obsession with pancakes. We get it Kurt, you like IHOP. And thank you... we're now starving. Laura, meanwhile, continues her reign as one of the nicest humans alive... unless you sit next to her (or her dad, without knowing it) at one of their kids' sporting events and comment on the fairness of her child beating the pants off yours. Then... LOOK OUT. Mama Coleman is coming for you. *snaps fingers two times in the air* The two couples talked mental health, child labor laws in tourism-dependent countries, and questionable mattress stains. Yeah, we went there. Things begin with a discussion of "getting it in," and end with a Vladimir Guerrero Catchphrase clue that will blow away your eardrums. We're pretty sure you'll enjoy all of that and everything in-between. Catch more Kurt this football season on the radio and as a coach at Charlotte Latin, and you'll find Laura somewhere in Charlotte carting around the four Coleman minis to practices on practices on games on practices. Don't believe us? They're @k4cole20 and @mrscoleman29 on Insta if you want to stalk them there. Please snap a screen grab while you listen, tag us, and share! Visit jakeandpage.com for past episodes. Check out our new book as well: “Holy Crap, We're Pregnant!” While some people learned how to bake banana bread during the pandemic, Jake and Page finally finished a book we started 10 years ago. It's a she said/he said look at pregnancy. Buy it for yourself or someone you know who's about to have a baby! Thanks for listening! *Psst, Laura's sister, you're totally invited next time. You sound like fun.

Damaly is a published photographer and writer whose mission in life is to help women OWN IT — both on camera and off.  I was so excited to have this conversation with Damaly, partly because of my own interest in photography and partly because of an incredible post I read on her blog. "It's so important for us to see ourselves reflected back in a positive light. [...] These photos are just a reflection of what you already are. It's not about being anyone else or doing anything differently. These photos are literally just about finally capturing you in a way that shows it." I Heart My Life Show

Psst… you don't have to work a ton more hours to generate more income. This is great news for anyone who is already feeling a little stressed out. Maybe you're already doing too much and can't imagine adding another client to your plate. You might be working too many hours yet wishing you could find a way to reach even more people. (I've been there.)  That's why I dedicated this episode to outlining the exact steps I took to scale my income from $442 to 7-figures in my first 18 months of business. In preparation for the upcoming 7-Figure Framework Workshop, I recently sat down to retrace the steps I took to scale my business and reach that 7-figure milestone. I'm excited to share them here with you because I want you to achieve the financial freedom you are craving. So, follow along as I dive into the story of how I scaled my business and how you can too. I quickly learned that I couldn't scale my business to the extent I wanted following a time-for-money model. Listen as I explain the moves I made to go from 27 1-on-1 clients to a 7-figure business that included group programs, VIP days, 1-on-one coaching, and more.  I talk about the importance of clarifying your revenue goals and then determining the fastest, easiest, and most joyful way to get there. In short, determine what you want to and are qualified to create, and then make it scalable. Remember, you just have to be a step or two ahead of your ideal client.  If you're already running a business, I explain how you can utilize something that's currently working for you and expand from there. The episode covers everything from how expansion actually helps grow your other programs and allows you to increase your pricing all around. I explain how diversifying your offers allows you to increase your revenue and expand and deepen your impact. You can repeat the process outlined in this episode in a way that makes sense for whatever stage your business is at. As long as you have initiative and take action, you can continue to scale.  I know it always sounds easier when someone else is explaining it, but the truth is, even I didn't exactly know everything before I got started building my business. But that's just it. I got started anyway. You're never going to feel 100% ready. You just have to take action and get something out there. You can continue to tweak and grow your offers from there. I hope this episode inspires you to take that first step toward the scalable income you want and deserve. And don't worry, I offer tons of questions you can ask yourself to help you get started. While there's a ton of helpful information and actionable advice in this episode, it's only scratching the surface. Be sure to sign up for our 7-Figure Framework Workshop here to dive into all of the steps you need to scale your income.  In this episode…  [04:30] The inspiration behind this episode. My story of scaling my business.  [06:36] What type of business are you building?  [08:22] You just have to be a step or two ahead of your ideal client.  [12:42] How expansion actually helps your other programs.  [14:01] How expansion can help you increase your pricing.  [16:12] Diversity your offerings. [18:42] Repeat the process to continue to grow.  [22:18] Scale in a way that makes sense for your business.  [24:40] How to scale your income: breaking it all down.  Quotes: “Awareness is such a key component of success. We have to know why something's working and what we're doing to create that growth or success in order to replicate it.” -Emily Williams “You want to really think about, what is it that you want to sell? What is your expertise? What is something that is currently working for you, potentially that one-to-one model, that you could grow and expand?” -Emily Williams “Really think about what your revenue goals actually are, and what's going to be the fastest, easiest, and most joyful way to get there.” -Emily Williams  “If you are stressed out right now. If you're doing too much yourself. If you're feeling like you're not impacting the people you want to impact. If you're working too many hours… We really want to think about how we can transform your current business. One of the fastest ways to do that is to create something that is scalable so that you can grow your income.” -Emily Williams  Links & Resources:  Stay up to date with the latest episodes: Follow the I Heart My Life Show on Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/i-heart-my-life-show/id1569047758 Subscribe to the I Heart My Life Show on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/1Zw6fI37FrfVjZMXlMiZZ6 Connect with Emily:  I Heart My Life Website https://www.iheartmylife.com/ I Heart My Life on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/iheartmylife/ I Heart My Life on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/iheartmylifenow I Heart My Life on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/i-heart-my-life/ https://www.iheartmylife.com/join Join the IHML community to receive exclusive announcements and tips. In this episode...Tyler and Mike hear one of the most amazing life journeys EVER!  Andréa Simmons is living a rich life and she takes the guys to some places that they have never explored.  She is a trail blazer that believes in the power of her dreams.  Instead of giving up, she asks questions like "What have I learned?" and "How can I use this?" and you cannot argue with the results that she is getting.  Her faith is solid that God makes a way, that the only limits that exist are those that we put on ourselves, and what she manifests can happen.  Show NotesThey Said It...References...Gary MillerPortia & Chad Louder on RMIT Episode #56 "No Matter What"Psst...Check out our website or visit us on our Facebook and Instagram platforms.Mike and Tyler are both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  If you would like to learn more about the Church or their beliefs, we invite you to check it out by clicking here.
