This playlist is 68% vinyl friendly. Poor. Teenage Engineering’s PO–80 Record Factory turntable. In a move to avoid wrecking their dads’ pride and joy, maybe an inexpensive (approx £300) route to young kids getting the feel of spinning vinyl? Beyond maybe playing a Factory Records record on this Record Factory turntable, with six black five-inch blank records plus sleeves included they can even cut their own recordings! That’s all after you’ve built the thing… as it comes in a kit. Any track marked * has been given either a tiny or a slightly larger 41 Rooms tweak/edit/chop and the occasional tune might sound a bit dodgy, quality-wise. On top of that, the switch between different decades and production values never helps in the mix here. Lyric of Playlist 150 ‘And the award goes to… ‘ Tracey Thorne and Ben Watt… A long, long time ago some of their words would have rung true here. 00.00 (Intro) THE FLAMINGOS – Stars (Edit) – Unreleased demo – 1983. Episode #1 for info. 00.41 NEW ORDER – Crystal (Lee Coombs Remix) * – 12″ – London – 2001 Fresh from the release of the band’s Get Ready album, both its opening track and their set opener on all three of the Brixton Academy, London gigs I caught in 2001, this version is maybe weighted more on the remixers side than usual when kicking off 41 Rooms with New Order but this one really drives. 08.13 MESOSAUNA (feat DANIELE GAS) – Rotta Calabra – Download only – Factory Flaws – 2025 Out of Milan and Italy (albeit with a bit of a Teutonic feel) the title translates as “Calabrian Route”, ‘naming the path many take across the sea, hoping for something better on the other side‘. That fish below though needs to stick to the water. 13.46 FOUR TET – A Joy (Album version) – 7″ – Domino – 2005 The ‘Album version’ on a 7″ single and to these ears, Kieran Hebden sounding a long way from anything joyous. 16.42 WIELORYB – Iron – Stream only? – ? – 2026 ‘Spongey industrial’ sounds from Poland and best explained, aurally and visually, within his regular Meta/Fb page posts. 19.08 CHOZE x BARBARELLA – Heartbeat Drums – Stream only – Facebook – 2025 ‘Built from the ground up, written, recorded and filmed in a single five hour session‘… with, as I hint on the show, Massive Attack’s Bristol, UK in their bones it would seem, even though with far flung ancestry they’re based in London. 22.40 MASSIVE ATTACK – Safe From Harm (12″ Version) – 12″ – Wild Bunch – 1991 And to the slow beats bosses themselves… ‘Wailed like ‘Unfinished Sympathy’ by Shara Nelson, this wind swept strange very densely rumbling slow swaying tugger is out first (contrary to the sleeve listing) in Nellee Hooper’s (0)-81.6bpl 12″ Version and 0-81.4bpm Instrumental, plush group’s 0-82.3bpm Original, with apparently a Paul Oakenfold remix to follow‘. – James Hamilton, Record Mirror (Music Week), 1.6.91 29.13 RAE & CHRISTIAN – Anything U Want – 12″ – Grand Central – 1998 The instrumental dub side made it to 41 Rooms eons ago but contrary maybe to the ‘antennae’ of a hardcore rap fan, this vocal version is an example of how my senses tend to pick up on any counter vocals or sounds to the rap – and here it’s that soulful bv. If they weren’t there this tune would have passed me by without much fuss – even though it’s Mark Rae (and Steve Christian) at the controls. 32.47 ADDIS ROCKERS – Enter Addis Ababa – Enter Addis Ababa, LP – Warriors International – 1985 An album I only honed in on decades after John Peel played the album’s Broadwater Farm Affairs track and if ever anyone can find a near mint copy of this album, they’re a better soul than me. It’s the sleeve that’s always the bigger problem. Lamination of some sort might have done the trick. 37.06 MISTY IN ROOTS – Soddom and Gomorrah (Peel session, 27.11.79) – The John Peel Sessions, CD only – Strange Fruit – 1995 Importantly for me, The John Peel Sessions covers four of the seven tracks recorded for the band’s first two (and best?) visits to the Beeb’s Maida Vale studios, with the second being right up there with any or most done for Peel’s radio show, and before the dawn of Discogs I had the notion the above release might have been on vinyl as well. Sadly, to date it’s not the case. 41.42 MAE McKENNA – Sayonara – Nightfallers, LP – Virgin – 1988 Find me another online playlist where Mae McKenna has sat next to Misty In Roots. It won’t be happening. Somewhere soon after this album came out I was on a holiday back in Ireland and after an evening in the pub with cousins we reconvened in my mum’s childhood home and were playing ‘Rings’ (look it up, kids) on a Ring Board on the door down to the ‘parlour’ and this tune came on the radio. The things you remember… 47.04 RAIN TREE CROW – Every Colour You Are – Rain Tree Crow, LP – Virgin – 1991 With all four (ex)members of Japan involved, Rain Tree Crow was seen at the time as ‘a long term project, with a fresh artistic start‘. Keen to avoid any notions of a nostalgic Japan reunion, David Sylvian, especially, was aiming to ‘create improvised, atmospheric music departing from their past commercial sound.’ Unsurprisingly, I’ve gone for the track that maybe could most happily have sat on any new Japan album of the time. :) 50.44 DAVID BOWIE – Right – 7″ b-side – RCA – 1975 This mistakenly slipped off the 41 Rooms radar til now. Gold star quality from my fave Bowie era. 54.55 CHAKK – Falling – 10 Days In An Elevator, LP – MCA – 1986 From the early doors, tougher industrial funk of Out Of The Flesh through to the ‘10 Days… ‘ album and Falling, where he’s absolutely soaring, Jake Harries was well suited as Chakk’s vocalist, even if (it seems) singing didn’t transpire to being a long term career path. 58.35 TERRY CALLIER – Love Theme From Spartacus – Timepeace, LP – Talkin’ Loud/Verve – 1998 Folk… soul… class… The film’s instrumental theme tune re-imagined. 01.03.01 LYNDA SLOANE-CUSACK – Dreams (part) – Stream only – 2026 I’ve side-stepped matching the track after this, here with the more obvious Fleetwood Mac reference point (Rhiannon) – and albeit a short, one-time take, this is a beaut of a FM cover. Cork, Ireland-based, Lynda’s actually a wedding ceremony singer and guitarist, so that accounts for the church acoustics in the mix. 01.04.50 KELLY JEAN CARTER – Yellow-Back Novel – Yellow-Back Novel, download only – Red Bird Music – 2025 Seemingly out of nowhere (though there’ll have been an algorthymic reason) this quality song popped up on my Fb/Meta feed and seeped into my brain. A sleeper of a song that maybe mostly hits the mark with anyone who grew up in the ’70s hearing singer-songwriters regularly on the radio. 01.09.53 DAVID McWILLIAMS – As I Used To Know Her – Livin’s Just A State Of Mind, LP – Dawn – 1974 The first of two artists from Northern Ireland on this show and until recently, McWilliam’s signature tune, Days Of Pearly Spencer was the only single/track of his I (back in the ’70s) ever owned. If I’m honest, this was one of those grab-the-album-for-the-one-and-only-track-I-like sketches… but I recently spotted and bought this acetate, so that added some appeal. Maybe half a dozen at most ever cut? 01.14.11 THIS MORTAL COIL – I Want To Live – Filigree & Shadow, 2LP – 4AD – 1986 Deirdre Rutkowski owns it here but I remember thinking F&S was a single album at best and listening now to the two LPs it still feels ‘patchy’ and like a project that fell short of its initial goals. Could be wrong, of course. 01.18.04 JAZZ THE GLASS / GOT-TA-SCATTA – The Journey – Demo, unreleased – Stream only – 2015-2025’ish Dave Summersgill and myself (GOT-TA-SCATTA) with the ‘ingredients’ here and judging by the working versions I have, this track is only(!) a little over a decade old, though this version was fine-tuned in more recent times by Dave (Jazz The Glass). With our favourite unwitting contributor of the time, Maya Angelou on the mic and samples from elsewhere. 01.22.16 BUNNYDRUMS – Ugh and… 01.25.13 BUNNYDRUMS – Sleeping – P.K.D., LP – Red Music – 1983 Such is the way I put these shows together I was smugly thinking Sleeping very neatly fitted after Ugh before I realised it was the same band! So, an accidental and rare ‘double tune’ outing on 41 Rooms. 01.29.28 JOY DIVISION – The Only Mistake – Still, 2LP – Factory – 1981 Yep, my copy of Still sadly water damaged along the way. As for the ribbon that ‘wrapped’ it in 1981, that would have been low on my radar to conserve back then. 01.33.28 MOUNT PALOMAR (feat ENOLA GAY) – Feeding Frenzy * – Stream only – 2026 Tuff!!!!! Something akin the traits I mention above with Rae & Christian, I’m a bit of a sucker for a verse and chorus structure that wildly contrasts… and this really smacks. 01.37.04 ATRIC & FRIDA DARKO – My Dog – Download only – 2025 Even though they’re from Leipzig, Germany, this sounds darker than some of their profile pics and track visuals would suggest. 01.42.13 SHIPS – Where We Are – Precession, LP + 7″ – Self released – 2017 Actually, the a-side of the (blue vinyl) 7″ part of the package – with the album being clear vinyl. With my copy currently residing in California, let’s hear it for the bespoke packaging approach! The Dublin-based duo, Sorca McGrath & Simon Cullen’s first and only album, to date. 01.46.47 EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL – Missing – Amplified Heart, LP – Blanco y Negro – 1994 It’s maybe hard to remember there was a time – before Todd Terry’s intervention took the song global – when Missing was (just) a track on an album, as classy as the duo, Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn are. If I’d gone for the purest ‘least cluttered by other tracks and/or mixes’ vinyl to get this original version, it would have been on an expensive Italian promo only 7″… but I haven’t. 01.50.25 FAYLEINE BROWN – You Know I Missed You (Todd Edwards Remix) – 12″ – Azuli – 1996 ‘Device and Devibes deliver a mature-sounding vocal with a smokin’ underground break which continues in the dub with whirling vocals and swinging drums. The Todd Edwards mix has his typical anagramatic vocal arrangements and although it will not win him any new fans, it will certainly keep a confused but contented smile on the faces of his existing ones. Finally, there is D&D Tribal dub which will work well for those who prefer harder repetitive house‘. **** Jeremy Newall, Record Mirror (Music Week), 2.3.96 And from a song with the line ‘and I miss you’ to one with the title, ‘You Know I Missed You’. Totally coincidental… with Todd Edwards in the house garage! Maybe with a bit of a nod to M(ark) K(inchen)’s vocal cut up style, this had me bouncing and cheery in its time, as it did with the London underground scene… and yet it’s another 12″ you can now pick up, still in mint condition for less than the price of a pint. 01.55.32 ST. GERMAIN – Alabama Blues (Todd Edwards Vocal Mix) – 12″ – F Communications – 1995 ‘This label’s best release gets another chance with some more radio friendly mixes that feature a lot more vocal and mixes by Todd Terry that make the blues/house combinations less effective but still catchy. The sparser deeper original mix is still the best with its simple moody organ creating the atmosphere, but this groundbreaking tune deserves a re-release and the new versions at least give it a new angle‘. – Tim Jeffery, Record Mirror (Music Week), 11.11.95 ‘Todd Edwards is New York’s fastest rising production star. Here, he helps the leading light of the French new school jazzers to forge stronger links to the dancefloor. With his distinctly smooth yet hyper style, the MK-like vocal snippets work particularly well on the dub, where Stevie Wonder cut-ups jump off the vinyl. And for those who missed out on the first release of this in 1993, the oh-so-cool original is also included‘. ****1/2 Michael Morley, Muzik #6, Nov ’95 Yep, with the wrong Todd noted in the first review, it’s a Todd Edwards reprise as he works his skills on the French producer’s original. Inkfish on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 9/8/22 About Inkfish - Tune in to a movement with heretical beliefs that deviate from those considered orthodox. Break away from larger modern culture and follow a different set of rules, created not to contain, but to expand. You are the culture medium. The host. Your lifestyle is the vehicle for something special. A bar, a club, a musical doctrine. We are just an agent, striving to create songs which symbolic territories are the archetypal cities of decadence, hedonism and melancholy. Tunes slowly emerging of textural substance from seemingly primordial depth — the fancy way of saying "simple but effective"). We worship the ideas of creation. So should you. --- We are four Swedes. Mattias Lindblom, Jesper Lindqvist + brothers Andreas and Johan Hermansson. Today all Inkfish productions are done by Andreas or Mattias. The label is managed by Andreas, who also do the dj'ing, together with Johan, while Jesper is our own version of Bez of Happy Mondays fame. Joey Negro is the most well-known pseudonym of master British DJ/producer/remixer Dave Lee. Under a plethora of other monikers including Akabu, Doug Willis, The Sunburst Band, Jakatta, Raven Maize, Sessomatto, and Z Factor, Dave was one of the first artists to incorporate disco samples in house music when he began his production career in 1988. Indeed, he was in the studio making credible British House music when many luminaries around him were still busy getting to grips with their decks. Little has changed since then and Dave is still widely regarded as one of the forefathers of the UK dance scene who is still as productive as ever in the studio and behind the decks most weekends. A producer first, his work ethic is legendry, having been involved in well over 300 productions, countless albums and a healthy stack of pop crossover hit singles with tracks such as ‘Must Be The Music’, ‘Make A Move On Me’ and Jakatta’s ‘American Dream” making the UK Top 10. Dave has also been commissioned to remix the likes of Kelly Rowland, Empire of the Sun, Mariah Carey, Labrynth, Pet Shop Boys, Diana Ross and many many more. He also conceived and produced the UK number 1 “Relight My Fire” by Take That. However, despite the crossover successes the majority of Dave’s productions have had the heart in underground clubland – with releases on many seminal house music labels – Transmat, Nu Groove, Quark, JBO, Azuli, Deconstruction Guidance & NRK. Intrinsically linked with the birth of house in the UK, Dave Lee set up the dance music division of Rough Trade, Demix in 1986 and through this link, he began working with the Rhythm King label, which had had a number of hits with acts like Bomb The Bass, S-Express, Cookie Crew and Beatmasters. This experience and intimacy with other leading house labels led to him establishing his own imprint, Republic Records, in 1988. Now defunct, Republic was one of the UK’s first soulful house label releasing classics such as Phase II “Reachin” and Turntable Orchestra “You’re Gonna Miss Me” - as well as some early productions of his own like Raven Maize “Forever Together” Joey Negro, as an entity, was born in 1990 with the release of “Do It Believe It’ on US cult house label Nu Groove. When struggling for an act name Dave flicked through a pile of records next to his desk and ending up putting together Pal Joey and J Walter Negro - “I thought it sounded like a cool hispanic New York guy, I certainly never envisaged I’d be answering to the name Joey 25 years later”. The track was a breakthrough success and was followed by ‘Do What You Feel’, which was released on his second label and successor to Republic, Z Records. ‘Do What You Feel’ eventually crossed from a club hit to a top 40 pop hit on Virgin Records. Another Top 40 track followed with “Love Fantasy” and an album “Universe of Love” with guest appearances from disco acts The Trammps and Gwen Gutherie. Throughout the 90/00’s Dave delivered a constant stream of productions and remixes with tracks like his “Can’t Get High Without U” and Z Factor “Gotta Keep Pushin” (used as the theme for Ibiza Uncovered) becoming anthems on the dancefloor. These days his label ZR is not only a vehicle for him to release his own music but has become a very cool brand featuring productions and remixes from both cutting edge and established producers like Dennis Ferrer, Jimpster, Henrik Schwarz, The Revenge and Frankie Knuckles. Dave’s work producing live disco act The Sunburst Band has been the source of much praise and adoration. Their fourth album ‘The Secret Life of Us’ from 2012 was yet another power house of all things soul, jazz, and funk featuring a host of live musicians and vocalists has been widely regarded as the strongest Sunburst album yet. The LP topped the Solar Sweet rhythms for over 2 months (a record), Starpoint Soul chart, Amazon Funk chart and has received across the board props. The band continue to tour around the world on a regular basis. Dave has remained an avid vinyl collector and has put together many genre defining compilations – ‘Disco (Not Disco)’ (Strut), ‘Joey Negro In The House’ (Defected), ‘Disco Spectrum’ Vol.1–3 (BBE), ‘Jumpin’ 1& 2 (Harmless), Southport Weekender Volume 1, ‘Nite:Life’ and ‘Back In The Box’ (NRK) ‘The Trip’ (Family Records) ‘The Voyage – Excursions into Early House’ (X Treme) & ‘Lust: Art & Soul’ (Susu). Whilst on ZR he’s compiled ‘Destination Boogie’, ‘Locked In The Vinyl Cellar’, ‘Supafunkanova’ ‘The Soul of Disco’ (Vol.1-3), ‘Back Street Brit Funk’ and the latest labour of love ‘GoGo Get Down’ that focused on Washington DC GoGo funk, all of which continue to further cement him as one of the UK’s foremost musical authorities. Not wanting to hog all the limelight, Dave has started the ‘Under The Influence’ series on ZR which gives a platform to some of the worlds most serious record collectors – unknown names who’ve spent their lives collecting music and have the knowledge to put together a wicked selection on previously unheard music. His discography is undoubtedly impressive and his deep understanding as a selector of all things disco and house on the dancefloor have ensured his status on the global DJ circuit worldwide to this day. Joey Negro's dj sets reflect his extensive love of music ranging from rare disco through to vocal and classic house and often into more deep, electronic and techy areas, his sets littered with exclusives, old and new. Where as many producers from his era have tended to ease off on the studio work Mr Lee keeps turning out the club hits, evident in 2012 when he had 5 releases in the Traxsource end of year top 100. 2013 saw his long awaited compilation ‘Remixed With Love’ hit the stores. Packed with brand new remixes of classic disco tracks all reworked from original 24 track tapes and including artists such as Roxy Music, Patrice Rushen & Roy Ayers, the album topped sales charts on Amazon and Juno and stayed at No.1 on Traxsource for 4 months. His Akabu track "Everybody Wants Something" also featured in many end of year ‘best of’ charts. Joey has kept the pressure on in 2014 with singles under his Z Factor, Doug Willis and Sunburst Band aliases plus remixes for Zo! and Tramhead. He also put together and released a universally applauded Italo House album which dug deep into house history delivering some forgotten gems that still sound great today. Looking forward to next year there are already three albums lined up - Supafunkanova Volume 2, Remixed With Love Vol. 2 and a stunning compilation of 90s House and Garage. Also look out for a new artist album from Joey Negro coming soon... For all booking enquiries please email simon AT zrecords DOT ltd DOT uk

We're Rocking Down The House в ремиксе Micky Slim. По поводу трека Stay All Night от Stereo Scum, ревьюеры из какого-нибудь западного журнала написали бы "Stereo Scum did it again". Максимальная бас-линия и слова "We Want To Stay All Night Filthy" делают этот трек peak-time бомбой. В постоянной рубрике Bonus Track у меня сегодня тэк-фанк и брейкс легенда из Британии Ли Кумбс (Lee Coombs) с потрясающим треком Out Of My Mind. "Two Men On a Trip", (Paul Oakenfold) "Time of Your Life". Прибежище зловещих брейкбитов "Dubhead", и Axl F элеткроремикс "Would Be True". Для этого альбома Ли списывался с некоторыми из самых талантливых музыкантов вокруг, включая Dylan Rhymes, Christian J, Andy Gardner (Plump DJ's), и Jem Panufnik (Soul Of Man).Первый сингл от альбома, "Alright All-Night” / “Dubhead" направился прямиком на первое место в хит-параде DJ Mag Beats & Breaks Chart, и попали в усиленную ротацию по национальному радио, а также попал во все обзоры рэйверских журналов.Второй сингл, включающий в себя самый известный ремикс Ли до настоящего времени “Time Of Your Life” для Пола Оакенфолда, с ремиксом New Order "Crystal" на обороте пластинки. We're back from Black Rock City, Boys and Girls, with hours upon hours of dark and dirty playa sets recorded live from DISTRIKT at Burning Man Rites of Passage! Today we're quite pleased to present you with the very first of those recordings from our good pal, Lee Coombs of Thrust Recordings. Enjoy! "It’s been two years since I have visited the Playa and I couldn’t wait to play my first DISTRIKT set. There is something really special about a huge daytime party in the desert! I re-edited and re-mixed like a mad man in the weeks leading up to Burning Man to make sure I had the right tunes for the job. DISTRIKT has the kind of vibe that I love, the crowd wants to hear Rolling Underground Beats that carry you through the day and then onto the night. They know quality and when they hear it, the place erupts. Hats off to you DISTRIKT. I had an Epic afternoon and loved every minute of it. Thank You!" - Lee Coombs x Track List 1. Steve Lawler – Kalimba [R&S] 2. Reset Robot – V3 [Sprout] 3. Iguana Djs – Nasty Night (Lee Coombs Remix) [Thrust Recordings] 4. Trent Cantrelle Vs Princess Superstar – Robot (Lee Coombs Remix) [Sounds Like Music] 5. Josh Wink – Everybody to the sun (Slam Remix) [Ovum] 6. Ways and Means – Scissorfight (Lee Coombs Remix) [Audio23] 7. Bushwacka! – West Side [Olmeto] 8. Marco Bailey – Watergate [Bedrock] 9. Secret Cinema – Pass the Dutchie [Mistakes Music] 10. Shlomi Aber – Create Balance (Lee Coombs Edit) [Ovum] 11. The Freakazoids – Freakazoid Experiments (Lee Coombs Burning Man Remix) [Thrust Recordings Promo] 12. Lee Coombs – Break 9541 (Ways and Means Remix) [Thrust Recordings Promo] 13. Lee Coombs and Meat Katie – Thinking of you [Lot49] A little more background on this week's distinguished guest... Bending boundaries and ignoring the status quo – where would the electronic music scene be today without Lee Coombs? For over a decade this British producer has been at the forefront of it all; releasing groundbreaking mix CDs, remixing the world’s most acclaimed artists and knocking out dancefloor destroying productions that are considered classics years after their release. A seasoned veteran, Coombs first hit the DJ slopes in 1989, bathing himself in the acid house scene at parties around London and Cambridge. Crucial in shaping his all-encompassing approach to DJing and production, this boundary-less approach would become Coombs’ trademark, mixing up breaks, house, electro, techno and acid with dexterous assurance. In 1998 Coombs made his first massive strike on the breaks scene as the prized recruit of then ‘up and coming’label Finger Lickin’, with the man’s acclaimed album of 2001 ‘Future Sound of Retro’ signalling his arrival on the world stage. The album struck a chord within the dance music community, so much so that respected industry figurehead Pete Tong noted him as the ‘man to watch’. An ‘Essential New Tune’ accolade soon followed courtesy of Tong, with Coombs’ re-rub of Quivver’s ‘One Last Time’ making dance fans weak at the knees the world over. Such was the demand for Coombs, that luminary Paul Oakenfold was soon knocking at his door, resulting in the critically acclaimed Perfecto Breaks album of 2002. After landing the job of remixing Oakenfold’s ‘Time of your Life’ and then further re-rubs for world class acts such as Moby, New Order, Lamb and Planet Funk, Coombs’ status as one of the industry’s most in-demand artists quickly developed. Even the BBC was under the Coombs spell with them flying him over to Prague in the summer of 2003 to record the theme music for the television program ‘Born to Win’ with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Ever the musical innovator, Lee Coombs’ 2004 album release ‘Breakfast of Champions’ signalled a significant evolution in his sound. Collaborating with some of the most respected artists in his field – from Dylan Rhymes to Christian J, Andy Gardner (Plump DJs) and Jem Panufnik (Soul of Man), the album charted the ambitious new territory of Tech Funk, injecting the Breaks sound with butt-shaking elements of House, Electro and Techno. It was a style Coombs would make his own, alongside fellow innovators Meat Katie, Elite Force and Dylan Rhymes. Featured on the acclaimed album was the cracking single ‘Shiver’ (feat. Katherine Ellis) which was snapped up by classic house imprint Azuli and became one of the biggest vocal house anthems of 2005, whilst the ‘Alright All-Night/Dubhead’ and ‘Obsessional Rhythm’ singles went straight to no.1 in the DJ Mag Beats & Breaks Chart. Departing Finger Lickin’ for new pastures in 2005, Coombs’ focus shifted to releasing music through his own Thrust Recordings imprint as well as Adrift and Meat Katie’s Lot49 (then Whole9Yards). It was at this time that he started his ‘Thrust’ club nights in San Francisco, with the quarterly events becoming one of the hottest tickets in the Bay Area. He also formally joined the Lot49 team, mixing the label’s compilation Lot49 Presents – Lee Coombs. When he is not in the producers chair, Coombs regularly tours all corners of the globe and is a bona-fide fan favourite throughout Europe, the USA, Australia, Asia and of course the UK. His popularity has also ensured his repeat appearance at infamous festival ‘The Burning Man’ in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. Coomb’s latest artist album entitled “Light and Dark.” Was released in October 2009 on Lot49, Coombs views this as his most ambitious project yet with a range of tempo from 100 – 128 bpm. While still dancefloor focused, collaborations with the likes of Seasunz, Katherine Ellis, Uberzone and others help push the albums boundaries and showcase Coombs’ abilities across multiple genres. 2010 saw Lee move back into the T.V. music world when Absolut Vodka asked for his services with their ‘AbsolutNight’ campaign. In 2011 they also asked Lee to write the music to their ‘Absolut Blank’ Campaign which includes ‘behind the scenes’ video soundtrack and an Electronic version of their currently worldwide showing ‘Absolut Blank’ T.V. ad. Lee’s ability to create music that fits any kind of film or game is becoming widely known throughout the industry. In a world that’s so often governed by trends and fads, Coombs’ unwavering ability to simultaneously destroy dancefloors and push musical boundaries over 20 years since he first touched a pair of turntables is a remarkable achievement in itself. There’s little doubt that his impressive sonic skills will be rocking ears for many years to come. For more information on Lee visit him at www.leecoombs.com or http://soundcloud.com/analogdelayed.
