We covered The Last Jedi with a two part movie review, and we’ll create a Star Wars playlist for you this weekend with these four episodes in lieu of many more on our Soundcloud account. But today is all about our reactions to the Star Wars Celebration Episode IX panel presentation. Stephen Colbert was the MC, Kathleen Kennedy & J.J. Abrams paid tribute to Carrie Fisher, and they interviewed many of the stars and droids in the film including Billy Dee Williams, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Anthony Daniels, Kelly Marie Tran, Naomi Ackie, Joonas Suotamo, R2D2, BB8, and an intro to the adorable new droid, D/0. Finally, we give you our instant reactions & analysis to the new Teaser Trailer and the subtitle. What do we think it means? How should this film build upon Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII? What kind of fight scenes do we want? And what inappropriate jokes can we make in the process? Listen here to find out, and please tell your friends. We definitely busted our butts to give you those instant reactions today, and yes, we will be covering the Saga much more in the coming year. It does look Oscar-y, at least in terms of those magnificent production values. Our Pixar re-watch continues with part II tomorrow covering both Monsters Inc & Monsters University. We have 5 Oscar sprint profile reviews on the year thus far, as well as early projections & predictions, and many updates on our weekly variety show. He’s been a regular on the Movie Trivia Schmoedown, performed for the Groundlings, & he’s been a wrestling manager working with some of the WWE’s current & former stars. Nick spent years writing for Saturday Night Live & It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He’s acted for Joss Whedon & alongside Spider-Man. Nick’s sold out shows for the Upright Citizens Brigade, and even opened for Robin Williams. Us Mikes know & love him as one half the sketch comedy duo, Britanick, whose youtube streaming channel got one of the Mikes through law school & whose many more sketches & shorts for Funny or Die, Cracked, & CollegeHumor allowed the other Mike to somehow get up the courage to finish watching the most boring of Oscar Nominees. Nick Kocher joined our show, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled to chat with him. Obsessed with how versatile a writer & performer he is, we wanted & more importantly, needed to learn of this man’s origin story. So we were lucky enough to hear of his comedy beginnings, and Nick rattled off one funny & inspiring story after the next. We couldn’t help but dive into questions about his schooling & early career writing & performing alongside comedy partner, Brian McElhaney. We checked off all the questions we were dying to ask him about one of our favorite streaming channels, & then we closed with a discussion on his times writing for Sunny & SNL, two of our all time favorite shows. Chatting with Nick Kocher & our previous guests has been an absolute blast, and this new series of MMO Interviews ranks amongst our highest achievements on the show. Do please check out that playlist here on Soundcloud.
