PK and BK dive right into the holidays and family and the stress that both of them can put on someone. The biggest discussion of the last few weeks was how we can give back to the listeners. How do we create a healthy lifestyle as adults? PK starts to break down four key things in his life that he battles with: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. There is a hard and bad cycle that you can get into at a young age but how can we as adults break those chains that hold us back some days? One of the biggest things that started PK on this journey was that he wants to be a healthy father at 40 (which is right around the corner for him). He didn't just want to be a fit dad but a dad that is healthy mentally, emotionally, and spiritually too. Part of that health journey means BK needs to also be on this kick. They want to show the viewers how trying to be 1% better each day can truly change your life's trajectory forever. Time management is a huge part of mental health. This challenge is for 1 year and is not a diet mentality but a true lifestyle change. At this time last year, the Youth Ministry Sherpa Podcast was still a dream. 65 full- and short-length episodes later, we're a thing! Who knew llamas would be the mascot of youth ministry everywhere?! We are both ready to celebrate Christmas. We have our favorite Christmas movies to watch, and are looking forward to time with our families. Mathew is going all Clark Griswald (remember to ask him afterwards what he got from Amazon), while Steve, though he loves Clark, is more of a George Bailey kind of guy. He even met Jimmy Stewart once (sort of). Anyway, other than a youth ministry Christmas party or two, the days of filling Christmas break with youth activities (dare we say, Lock In?) are over. Take a break. Give your volunteers time off. Relax and plan....nothing. We already have great plans for 2019 -- including a new season of episodes starting January 8th and a new series called "Sherpa Legends." Look for us in 2019! Ed Helms finally returns to the Nerdist! Ed reminisces about his days of watching Singled Out, his love of bluegrass music and the upcoming The Bluegrass Situation at The Ace Hotel in LA October 10th and 11th. They also talk about Ed's recent camping and rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. Ed is about to leave to star in the new “Vacation” movie in which he will play Clark Griswald's son Rusty who is grown up and taking his own kids on vacation. Ed is very excited to play a character in the Griswald family saga!
