It's the Andy's Girls 250th episode extravaganza!!!! And in order to celebrate, Sarah eschews the 25th anniv symbol(in the words of Scheana Shay, this pod is good as gold, not silver), and Zooms up her fave glistening diamond, and Bravo bestie, Dylan Hafer (content manager, pop culture at Betches Media, host of the pods Pop Alarm and Mention It All, and creator of @bravobybetches). They discuss the absolutely extraordinary premiere of Salt Lake City, and the fascinating ways to reevaluate Jen Shah's performative nature in light of her federal charges, whether or not a Gizelle/Karen stalemate can ever stay fresh, and their predictions for the upcoming BH reunion (which doesn't bode well for the People vs Lisa Rinna). This pod may have turned 250, but thanks to Dr. Giese it doesn't look a day over 35 - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 250! In this episode we chat with Tim Giese about the impact they are making in educating and enabling the developmentally disabled, in a country across the globe.

Alison Giese has never followed a conventional design career path—she did medical sales and studied law before her husband's career took the couple to Brazil and she fell in love with design. It's no surprise, then, that the growth of her firm hasn't followed traditional lines either. On this episode of Trade Tales, Giese shares with host Kaitlin Petersen how she manages a staff of remote employees to scale up and down as the need arises, how she turned an Instagram hobby into a revenue stream, and why she embraces virtual services. This podcast is sponsored by Buildlane and Gabby HomeLINKSAlison GieseKaitlin PetersenBusiness of Home

Ask any avid runner what they think about treadmills and they will say...potentially anything! And for good reason. Treadmills, like many fitness products, have their polarized camps of promoters and detractors. Some say treadmills are more effective for conducting highly popular High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts, while others say treadmills are a lazier option, as the belt does the work for you. Can both perspectives be right? And while some treadmill criticisms are reasonable, do they apply to all treadmills? After all, not all treadmills are designed equally! If you have questions about these disputatious devices, listen to this episode in which we discuss the science and research about treadmills, and then decide for yourself if they’re worth a Run For The Money. In this episode we discuss: The most common opposing views on treadmills The components of the issues; kinematics, kinetics and running economy The reason different studies may show different results Whether treadmills belong in the Fitness Eco-System Glossary: Coefficient of Restitution - the ratio of the final vs initial velocity of two objects after they collide Gait - a pattern of limb movements made during locomotion Ground Reaction Forces - the force exerted by the ground against a body in contact with it Kinematics - branch of mechanics concerned with the motion of objects without reference to the forces causing them Kinetics - the study of forces acting on objects Relative Motion - the motion of one body with respect to another Running Economy - energy demand for a given velocity of submaximal running References Websites https://www.runnersworld.com/uk/training/a774418/how-effective-is-treadmill-running-compared-to-running-outside/ https://runnersconnect.net/treadmill-vs-running-outside-2/ https://www.active.com/running/articles/indoor-vs-outdoor-running-3-things-to-know-about-treadmill-training https://www.womensrunning.com/training/road/why-does-treadmill-running-feel-harder-than-outside/ https://greatist.com/move/is-running-on-a-treadmill-better-than-outside https://lauranorrisrunning.com/ask-a-running-coach-treadmill-running/ https://www.runnersworld.com/training/a20846772/how-effective-is-treadmill-running-compared-to-running-outside/ Citations Bassett, D.R., Giese, M.D., Nagle, F.J., Ward, A., Raab, D.M., Balke, B. Heute habe ich die Ehre, die berühmte Linda Giese bei mir als Gast zu haben. Our guest today is San Antonio-based interior designer, Alison Giese, who recently relocated from Northern Virginia. Her work has been featured in Rue Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens, Southern Home, and more. Alison’s signature style is to give the homes she designs character and soul, while still keeping it minimal and elegant. Be sure to follow her on Instagram and check out her Monday Mood Boards every week! We love them and so will you. What You’ll Hear on This Episode: Trials & Triumphs! Taryn welcomed baby Miles! Ordering blinds, the Cat Lawyer, carpeting the basement, and finding a perfect workspace in the home. Alison’s career began in sales before she pivoted to design. How her time in Brazil influenced Alison’s style. Redefining what neutral colors are and Alison’s selection process. Cabinetry and hardware trends and preferences. How Alison uses “restraint” and minimalism in her design. Breathing life into a space with greenery. How many towels to display in bathrooms. When and where to use small lamps. Decorating Dilemma Hi Beth, We agree that most of the upholstery does feel a little big for this space. For a sofa, I think you could try a sectional with a chaise at the end. You would have to measure the room and map it out first either with a scale drawing or using painter’s tape on the floor. Caroline personally loves the Hartwell sofa for this space, especially in front of a window because it has a pretty low back. It’s also really comfortable without being too deep. And it comes in leather, too! If you do go with a leather sofa, you could try an upholstered ottoman to soften it up. Whatever you go with, just make sure you pay attention to the height and the length of the arms; try to keep it more compact so it doesn’t look as bulky. Depending on if you want the big lounging sofa or not, you could also add additional seating—maybe even some vintage chairs since they have a smaller footprint. I love the large chair in the corner; it kind of looks like a reading nook with the lamp next to it. Potentially the other chair in the other corner does feel oversized so that could be an opportunity for a smaller chair or even a little café table. So many people are having to carve out even the tiniest spaces for homeschool or home office, so if you don’t have that this could be that place. We love your built-ins. You could easily make those a fun color and utilize some of that storage for kid stuff. The carpet is great too! For the TV stand, your current media stand looks a little too deep so you could give yourself more walkway space if you got a stand that is smaller. Like we mentioned in another episode, an IR repeater is a clever way to help you tuck away your electronics. Lastly, we think you could add some more lamps or even hire an electrician and put some sconces in. Thank you for sending in your question, Beth! Good luck and send us some photos! So let's just get started. And, you know, just tell the listeners a little bit about yourself and what motivated you to start your company True Influence because there's definitely a great story there.Brian Giese 01:12Sure thing. So appreciate that. And we've been in business since 2008. I started it with RK Maniyani, who is a good friend who had a marketing automation platform. He's our CTO now, in fact, over 12 years. And we had this dream of automating the internet, to become like, a marketing automation for the entire world. Right. So rather than using an automation system, just for your, just for your website, you're pulling signals from all over the world. That was the dream in the beginning. And it's actually happening today. So, you know, we're 12 year old company, about 300 full time employees. We're, you know, profitable for eight years in a row. We're privately funded, you know, the company's doing fantastic. And we're just, we're just, we're proud of what we've done. And we're, we're very performance oriented. So we care a lot about our customers. We focus on that. So. That's sort of the short story.Christian Klepp 02:20And what a fantastic story, Brian, I mean, not every company can brag about, like, you know, that they're that they're doing well, and that they're profitable, especially under the current circumstances. That's not always a given, right?Brian Giese 02:30I totally get it. Yeah.Christian Klepp 02:32Yeah. And if I, if I understood you correctly, you were talking about automating the internet b...
