The downfall of FTX and founder Sam Bankman-Fried. Juan and many other crypto investors get financially f***ed by crypto companies filling for bankruptcy. Many crypto investors are simply losing access to their money due to the collapse of crypto markets and accounts being frozen from chapter 11 bankruptcies. Another digital asset that is also loosing major value is the NFT. With all this downturn, if people want to go to sleep and wake up at a more favorable time, they can now do that with Cryosleep. Similar like we've seen in space travel movies, you can leap time by going to sleep. More from the tech giant Elon Musk, as he announces plans to have human trials in 6 months for embedding the Nuralink chip into people's brains. It seems inevitable that we are on our way to living out the movie plots of Terminator or Total Recall with all the AI integration. We have always referenced how this is the most exciting time of this civilization as compared to the peak of the Roman Empire, and now we literally have a movie called Babylon that will be out in theaters. So are we at the climatic end of this civilization or on the verge of a transformation to new prosperity, ushered by AI. And also, no one doubts that the pyramids in Mexico, were built by Mexicans. Have you ever heard of Cryosleep? Cryosleep is a deep sleep during which the body is stored at a very cold temperature, to preserve it The brief history of cryonics That's precisely the basic idea of cryonics. The word itself is also derived from the Greek term for “cold”, and it means the low-temperature preservation of a human corpse, with the hope that one day it can be restored to life and full health. Bodies are cooled down to -200 Celsius and placed in a container of liquid nitrogen. Michigan professor Robert Ettinger proposed cryonics in 1964 in a book called The Prospect of Immortality, which argued that death could, in fact, be a reversible process. The first person to be cryopreserved was Dr. James Bedford in 1967. He died of kidney cancer, but his will was to be put into a cryo-chamber, in hopes that one day in the future, doctors will be able to bring him back. Ettinger, who died in 2011, went on to found the Cryonics Institute in Michigan where he, his mother and his first and second wives all now reside in metal flasks kept at −196 °C.Although the concept has never become mainstream, around six companies were established in the 1970s to use the technology. But the majority could not cover the fixed costs of preserving the bodies, thus went bankrupt, and the number of people choosing to sign up is steadily increasing year on year. There are now nearly 300 cryogenically frozen individuals in the US, another 50 in Russia, and a few thousand prospective candidates signed up. There are even more than 30 pets at Alcor's chambers, the largest cryonics organization in the world in Arizona, that has been around since 1972.There are now nearly 300 cryogenically frozen individuals in the US, another 50 in Russia, and a few thousand prospective candidates signed up. There are even more than 30 pets at Alcor's chambers, the largest cryonics organization in the world in Arizona, that has been around since 1972. How much does it cost to cryogenically freeze a body? Prices with other organizations can be as much as $200,000 or more for whole-body cryopreservation and $80,000 for a "neuro" (head-only) option. With CI, a whole-body cryopreservation costs as little as $28,000.00, rendering an alternative "neuro" option unnecessary What do they freeze bodies in? The body will then be cooled on dry ice until it reaches -130°C, at which point it will be placed into a container inside a larger metal tank, which will be filled with liquid nitrogen to keep the body at a temperature of around -196°C Who was the first person to be cryogenically frozen alive? James Bedford That's the same trouble with cryosleep, the most popular means of travel for sci-fi movies and literature where protagonists have to go to other planets by light years. However, if we could make it work, it would really be a game-changer — from saving terminally ill patients, to solving one of the main problems of interstellar travel. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/creative-habits/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/creative-habits/support

With Escape Room Tournament of Champions hitting theaters this week, we decided to mix it this episode up a bit.  You see, your respective hosts each have an unfounded confidence that they are, in fact, the most talented Escape Room-ers, that probably ever existed.  I say this because, JUST last weekend, the AE crew traveled to Escape in Time - Madison to test our wits in their new Cryosleep room. The short story is, we only used one clue and made it out of the room with 20 whole minutes to spare and basically we all think we own the place now. That said, the experience left us with lots of questions. Rob: "How much of the experience is automated vs. managed by the Gamemaster's manual control?" Carrie: "What's the weirdest thing you've seen on the hidden cameras?" Tim: "Do you give discounts for superior human beings, who are able to navigate complicated clues more quickly than anybody you've ever seen?" So for this episode, we have the pleasure of sitting down with Sara and Cheris the owner and Gamemaster at Escape in Time - Madison, to find out from the experts how Escape Room Tournament of Champions stacks up AND to ask the obvious question "which of us really was the best player"? Note: this is an "Spoiler Free" episode, but expect a series of grunts and moans and "mmmhmmmms" as we try to have a knowing conversation, void of explaining any of the twists. In worth mentioning, Carrie and Tim commiserate on Black Widow, Rob takes on the task or reviewing Space Jam: A New Legacy and Tim reviews the new Nic Cage flick, Pig (which he kind of loved, to the surprise of nobody). Tune in and we hope you enjoy this fun episode! ***************************************************************** Love the Podcast? Leave us a review! Other places to follow Alternate Ending. As release notes for the entire compilation starkly state in the beginning, “these are strange times and it looks like the whole world is going crazy”. Indeed! And my mind, when faced with fear, anxiety and uncertainty about the future, quickly rushes to my happy place. My happy place is a summer festival…thousands of people dancing, hugging, frantically waving their glow sticks, sucking on a pacifier and thrashing about in their ridiculously wide pants. Ok, ok… my happy place is a 90’s rave..guilty as charged! But have you ever danced to Underworld on a warm summer night? If you want to know that feels, you don’t have to dig for that Underworld CD. Just cue Vril and His Master’s Voice’s “Cryosleep”. 30 seconds into that track and you’ll think Bill Clinton is still in office and those raver pants are a thing of beauty. That track is a time machine! We have all the raver era boxes checked: breakbeat, happy heavy synth, perfect drive, and even Underworld-like spoken word are bellowing in the background. If you are old enough to remember, you WILL do a happy dance; if you have the misfortune of being too young, slip the track to your grandpa and watch him start working his cane like a glow stick. ‘Cryosleep’ is a part of ‘Solidarity Is a Weapon’, the 19-track charity compilation set to be released via Turnland on February 5th. All proceedings will go to Rote Hilfe E.V organization. So who is “Rote Hilfe E.V.” and why does the money made with this compilation go to them? This organization puts the main focus on the financial and legal support of left activists who face repression in Germany and helps antifascists who are searching for political asylum in Germany.

Thanks for your patience with this slightly overdue ep! Episode 88 won't disappoint. This time around we discuss the much anticipated sequel (for Hannah anyway) to a favorite film from our youth and then dive into some older flicks that make us feel like the nerdy romantics that we are. Enjoy! IN THEATERS Independence Day: Resurgence - Only worth it if you're a big enough fan of the first movie to make up for the sequel's shortcomings. If you are, it's a perfectly entertaining time at the movies. THEME MOVIES Starman - Who knew Jeff Bridges could sing? (Full disclosure, we didn't confirm if he actually can.) Forever Young - I wanna be...! Gattaca - Romance? Drama? Thriller? Who cares? It's great! In Your Eyes - Hannah enjoyed it. Anne hated it. Intrigued?
