This week Tony and Fingers asked themselves "what would be the perfect drink for Independence Day weekend?" The answer was beer. But they couldn't get away from their bourbon roots. So, the guys decided to put it all together by drinking the Dragon's Milk White, Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout from the New Holland Brewing Company (https://dragonsmilk.com/dragons-milk-white). Tony Katz and Fingers Malloy (http://eatdrinksmokeshow.com) host Eat! Drink! Smoke! (http://facebook.com/eatdrinksmoke) recorded live at Blend Bar Cigar (http://blendbarcigar.com) in Indianapolis, IN. Along with the Dragon's Milk White, the guys smoked The American cigar from J.C. Newman (https://www.jcnewman.com/the-american-cigar/). There's a bipartisan movement in Congress to get the FDA out of regulating premium cigars. Tony explains why this is a great idea that is long overdue. A North Carolina restaurant has added a 20% gratuity called a ‘Fair Wage Service Fee' to every bill for dine-in customers. The restaurant owner sees the fee as a method to close the wage gap between staff who did not make tips and those who did. Will customers go along with this new fee? Should they? Meanwhile in Texas, a restaurant chain is offering teenagers the opportunity to earn $50,000 as an attempt to lure workers to seek gainful employment. The process involves hiring teens and training them in-house to move into management. Will this be the new way business hire people? There is a new weight loss tool which gets wired into a patient's mouth that looks like some sort of torture device. The fellas describe it, and list the many reasons why it's a bad idea. New Holland Brewing Dragon's Milk Solera is an American Strong Ale by style. Aged in a series of American Oak foeders using a blending technique known as Solera, nuanced flavors of caramel, toffee & fig create an experience made to be savored. This legendary ale will continue to evolve with each pull from the foeders, becoming more complex over time. This craft beer is 10% ABV. In this craft beer review, we will take a look at the color, smell and taste.

Before the boys discuss cryptocurrency, they lubricate the mind with Dragon's Milk -- a bourbon-barrel aged imperial stout -- and side by side they drink Crowhill's clone of the same, Dragon Silk. (Note: this show was recorded before Facebook announced their new currency.) Pigweed reviews the high hopes of blockchain technology, which is the foundation of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, then Crowhill gives a simple explanation of blockchain technology. To explain the value of bitcoin, the boys back up and discuss fiat currency in general, then apply that to bitcoin. The value of bitcoin doesn't depend on the fiat of any government or institution. That leads to a discussion of the stability of the U.S. dollar, and its status as the reserve currency. Bitcoin challenges all that, and, if widely adopted, would challenge the status of the dollar as the reserve currency. This puts the boys in a bind -- between their patriotism and their libertarian views -- which they discuss at some length.
Justin drinks from the dragon's cup at New Holland Brewing and discusses a classic sports/comedy, The Waterboy. Adam Sandler is rich, but so is the delicious flavor of this beer!

Pigweed is wondering why conservative atheists are so rare. But before they get into that, the boys try their homebrewed versions of Dragon's Milk, a barrel-aged stout. Generally speaking, atheist means liberal. But there doesn't seem to be any real reason for that association. There's no reason to link conservatism inextricably to religion. Some people believe ethics can only be "real" if they exist in something like a Platonic, ideal realm -- so to them, God is necessary to ethics. But is that really true? Is the concept of God-given rights necessary to liberty and freedom? Political conservative principles don't seem to require God. They seem accessible to reason, and easily argued without recourse to God. The boys try a few test cases, to see if traditional conservative views can survive on reason alone. They try abortion and homosexuality, and argue that God is not necessary to come to conservative positions on those topics. Pigweed wants to launch a new term: non con. The non con is a non-believing conservative.

The knight’s reward for slaying a dragon was the treasured “milk of the dragon.” Today, Dragon’s Milk is an English term used to describe the finest liquid in the house.
