Romance is back! In this episode, Shelby and Laura review Netflix's hit RomCom show, Nobody Wants This, and A24's buzzy RomDram film, We Live In Time. We analyze all of the insane chemistry onscreen with Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, and offscreen with Andrew Garfield's Chicken Shop Date with Amelia Dimoldenberg. We discuss how both Erin Foster's show and John Crowley's film hit the cultural zeitgeist, analyze the hilarious meet cutes of Joann and Noah and Almut and Tobias, spill the social media discourse on the polarizing Jewish stereotypes in Nobody Wants This, dissect the confusing timelines in We Live In Time, celebrate the mature depictions of love and womanhood, highlight our favorite moments like Morgan and Sasha being "loser siblings" and Tobias teaching Ella how to crack eggs, explain why Florence Pugh looks too young to play a mother, and debate whether or not choosing love despite your family is a green flag. Was wann diskutiert wird:01:30 Schlagzeilen04:00 Hauptthema "Nobody Wants This"28:30 TippsLinks:Serie «Nobody Wants This» von Erin FosterText von Jessica Grose in der New York Times: «‹Nobody Wants This› Pits Jewish Women Against ‹Shiksas.› Nobody Wins»Dokumentarfilm über Pamela Anderson: «Pamela: Eine Liebesgeschichte»ZDF-Doku «Spätes Babyglück: Trend oder Tabu?» Die Playlist zum Podcast «Tages-Anzeigerin» auf SpotifyHabt ihr Lob, Kritik oder Gedanken zum Thema? In today's episode we're discussing Nobody Wants This on Netflix, which based on our feelings and the general reception, should actually be called EVERYBODY Wants This! This utterly bingeable romcom starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody has all the hallmarks of a great romcom…undeniable chemistry between the two leads, a stellar ensemble cast, high stakes tension, characters working through their damage, and laugh out loud humor. We discuss creator Erin Foster and her real life inspo for the show, Joanne and Noah's meet cute, THAT first kiss scene, the ICK and whether it truly can be overcome, the sibling dynamics, what it means to be “too much” and so much more!
Send us a textMismatched family cultures, personal values and beliefs: most romantic couples can relate. The sexy atheist and the hot rabbi at the center of this funny and often deep and touching fish out of water romcom dodge devastating zingers, doubtful friends, meddling families, sarcastic siblings, and a culture that just doesn't want one of them, but their sparkling chemistry and faith in each other always manages to get them through.https://www.confessionsofaclosetromantic.comIs there a world where this works? There better be, because I'm hanging on for season two.Finally. This evenhanded review has a very interesting perspective." I think we need positive Jewish stories right now. I think it's interesting when people focus on, “Oh, this is a stereotype of Jewish people,” when you have a rabbi as the lead. A hot, cool, young rabbi who smokes weed. That's the antithesis of how people view a Jewish rabbi, right?" Erin Foster talks about her own conversion and creating the series.Support the showIf you enjoyed this episode, please click share in your podcast app and tell your friends! Thanks for listening!

Though actor, podcaster, investor and brand founder Sara Foster never intended to launch a clothing line, it turns out she's quite good at it. Four-year-old Favorite Daughter, which she and her sister Erin Foster created in partnership with Centric Brands, was profitable by year two, she said. In 2023, the brand tiptoed into beauty, launching a duo of lip oils with Saint Jane, the "clean" beauty brand founded by Casey Georgeson. Now, with Georgeson's help, Favorite Daughter is launching its first two fragrances — one for each sister. Sara Foster's signature is called "Grecian Nights," while Erin Foster's is "Italian Summers." "We knew we wanted the packaging to be a beautiful moment. And we knew we wanted the fragrance to be the cleanest, but with real efficacy — that's a problem with clean fragrances; they don't last," Sara Foster said, regarding the fragrance development process. On this week's episode of The Glossy Beauty Podcast, Sara Foster discusses the road to launching a brand, the brand's expansion into beauty, the type of partners she wants to work with and the reason she prefers a customer event over an influencer blowout. According to Foster, beauty isn't the last new category you'll see from the brand. "I think, eventually, Favorite Daughter will be providing everything for you," she said. Erin Foster, if that's even her real name after what the world wide web has lied about, is on the pod with Kaitlyn and co-host & captain Lo VonRumpf (unfortunately no longer with facial hair). Erin is a writer, actress, and podcast host (who has mixed feelings about Halloween) and she is here as an open book to talk about everything from her passion for fashion to the writer's strike to the Bachelor franchise. She had her very own Netflix show in the making when the strike began, and Erin gives Kaitlyn and Lo the low down on what is happening in Hollywood and describes her future show which is based on a very familiar experience. As a fellow “auntie” like KB, Erin knows what it's like to be in love with little ones, and she opens up about her own egg-freezing journey and navigating fertility struggles. Plus, the three get into the scary reality of AI, why Kaitlyn has muted Lo on Instagram, and Lo comes out of the closet… again! Stay connected, Vinos! Throughout the summer, we are developing a brand new podcast with a new name and a new sound that will launch in late summer. In the meantime, we'll be revisiting some of our favorite shows from our first four years while still keeping you up-to-date on things to do in and around Atlanta. Earlier this year, we heard from Acworth's Jeremy Sides, a former Navy man and father of two, an entrepreneur and a metal-detecting hobbyist. He started out searching for Civil War relics in the woods and creeks. His fondness for finding gold nuggets earned him the nickname “Nug,” and he began documenting his exploits on his YouTube channel, Exploring with Nug. His career took a dramatic turn in November when he scanned the creeks around Sparta, Tennessee, and found a submerged Pontiac with two teenagers inside. They were Jeremy Bechtel and Erin Foster, missing since April 3, 2000. Since then, Sides has become part of a growing group of freelance sleuths seeking out mysteries and posting their exploits online. The AJC's Bo Emerson spoke with Sides about his work for our podcast. Find the conversation at ajc.com/podcasts and at the Apple Podcast store. Learn more about your ad choices.
