In this epic episode, I sit down with Heidi Walsh—one of the top all-around female kayakers on the planet—to talk about the mental and technical game behind hucking 92-ft waterfalls, throwing down in freestyle comps, and charging Class V creeks. We dive into the wild story behind her recent switch freewheel off Spirit Falls—a jaw-dropping downriver trick that had the internet losing its mind. Heidi shares what it was like to follow up that viral moment with a swim trying to hand paddle through Chaos after her paddle got ripped out of her hands —and the powerful lessons she took away from it. Her honest take on embracing mistakes, learning from beatdowns, and building mental resilience will fire you up to push your own limits—whether you're on the water or tackling life's rapids.

The Purdue Boilermakers and UConn Huskies battle tonight for the NCAA Tournament Championship for men's college basketball. Both teams are led by 7 footers in the paint. Purdue basketball center Zach Edey will lead the Boilermakers against Huskies center Donovan Clingan. Both are awesome players. It promises to be a throwback to the glory days when big men dominated the game of college basketball. Edey is a two time National Player of the Year and Clingan is playing so well NBA teams cannot wait to get their hands on him. He is more athletic than Edey and can take his game outside. But Edey is an unmovable, unstoppable force inside.CAITLIN CLARKMeanwhile the great career of Caitlin Clark comes to an end as the Iowa Hawkeyes came up short in the women's national championship vs the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks Sunday. Clark and her legacy will be debated for years because she broke every individual scoring record along the way but finished 0-2 in national championships. There will always be those who say you need championship rings to be considered the greatest ever. But two things cannot be denied. First, Clark brought more people to the game than any other player before her. And she was the greatest player we've ever seen at Locked on Big 10. DISCLAIMER - PGA/LIV Tour announcement dropped just as we were finishing up the editing on this, so our rant on WTF professional golf will have to wait until next week. This week on a very special episode, we reminisce about being children, our children turning away from the game of baseball and how baseball has been saved ... NOT. Well, we do talk about all those, though we don't know if baseball has been saved. Then we talk some NBA Finals and how Richie almost had a fourth F off from a HOFer. Yep, come for the news, stick around for the stories.
In this episode Jeff Wieland continues to explain the process of building a custom home. On previous episodes he explained Selecting a Builder, Working with an Architect and Designer. Today Jeff explains how construction begins on the new custom home and all the planning, time and thought that is needed before digging. It all starts with marking trees and deciding which will stay and which will go before the clearing begins. Next, the civil engineer will stake the property so everyone knows the homes position on the land. Erosion control, adding a temporary electric pole will follow. Will the soil need to be imported or exported from the site needs to be known? Following a process and making sure certain techniques are in place are so important during the foundation phase of a home. Excavation will begin next then grading while paying close attention to the elevation and considering the positive drainage away from the house. Footers will be placed in the hole and in the unexcavated areas like porches and garages. Forming the walls is a crucial step in making the home safer and stronger. The home is a system we follow and during this step we make sure everything is level, square and straight with the foundation. Next, in this phase after the walls are poured with concrete is protection with waterproofing and insulation board before the gravel backfill. The final step is making sure the grading is done properly with positive drainage away from the home.Email Jeff your comments, questions, topic requests or be a guest on The WB Download.
