Starting a podcast to grow your business? Hold up. Before you default to that classic interview format everyone seems to be doing, let's talk strategy.I recently had a coaching call where this exact topic came up, and it got me fired up because I see so many course creators and coaches launching podcasts without a clear purpose—just copying what they see others doing and wondering why it's not converting into sales. This episode isn't just about podcast formats; it's about getting crystal clear on your actual goals and building a strategy that serves YOUR vision, not someone else's. Whether you're planning your first episode or six months deep wondering why nothing's happening, this one's for you.I'm breaking down the real advantages and pitfalls of interview versus solo episodes, when each format makes sense, and why most course creators should be anchoring their shows in solo content if they want to see serious business growth. Plus, I'm sharing the pattern I see over and over again that's killing conversion potential. What You'll Learn:Why interview episodes might be sabotaging your sales (even if they feel easier)The advantages of solo episodes for building your personal brand and authorityWhen interviews actually make sense for your business goalsHow to strategically mix both formats without losing focusThe core principle you need to apply everywhere in your business, not just podcastingSpecific questions to ask yourself to align your strategy with your actual goalsYour Next Steps:Watch my new AI workshop to learn how I built a custom set of AI Assistants to help me run my business: https://www.gemmabonhamcarter.com/aiworkshopWork with Me: https://www.gemmabonhamcarter.com/programsWhat I Use to Run My 7-Figure Business: https://gemmabonhamcarter.com/toolsConnect on Social: https://www.instagram.com/gemma.bonhamcarter Support the show

Do you know what you're working towards in 2025? If not, you're not alone. Many high performers I work with feel stuck, unsure of what they truly want and overwhelmed about where to start. So in today's episode, we're talking about how to clarify YOUR vision for the year ahead! As a child, I remember sitting on the living room floor with my sister, surrounded by stacks of my mum's glossy magazines. Scissors in hand, we'd cut and paste (the old-fashioned way!) our favourite images onto paper. Without realising it, we were creating our own version of the modern day ‘vision board'.Now, I'm very practical and strategic when it comes to goal-setting. For a long time, I dismissed the whole concept of vision-boards as fluff and frankly, a bit ‘woo-woo'. But as a certified coach, I've learnt how powerful it is to create a clear vision -- albeit in my own structured, logical way! Yet so many of us dive into goal-setting without considering the big picture. This is like trying to plan a journey without a final destination point. Because if you don't know WHAT you're working towards, it's impossible to figure out the right strategy to get there. In this episode, I share 5 practical tips to help you clarify your 2025 vision, set aligned goals and take action with confidence! You'll learn:3 critical questions to identify what is and isn't working, so you know EXACTLY where to focusThe 2 essential elements to align your vision with what matters most and create a fulfilling, sustainable careerPractical prompts to help you visualise your ideal 2025What to do when your resolutions don't stick -- PLUS specific examples of how my clients and I approach the year with intentionHow to transform your vision into a step-by-step plan and achieve your goals with clarity and confidenceSo hit play NOW -- and let's make your 2025 vision a reality! Thanks for listening. Mark Beach looks at Calvin's view of law and gospel, explaining how Calvin sees both continuity and differences between the testaments. Key points include:1. Calvin's understanding of how Christ was revealed in the Old Testament and more fully manifested in the New Testament.2. The similarities between the Old and New Testaments, including the same covenant substance and hope of salvation.3. Five key differences Calvin identifies in how the covenants are dispensed, including:The shift from earthly to heavenly focusThe transition from shadows to reality in ChristThe contrast between letter and spiritThe move from bondage to freedomThe expansion from one nation to all peoplesThe episode provides a nuanced look at Calvin's theology, emphasizing his view that while the manner of dispensation differs, the substance of God's covenant remains the same across both testaments.

The Power of TrustProverbs 3:5-6 says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”This establishes our role as stewards and God as the owner, which gives us the freedom to look to Him for His plans for our money and not worry about our plans. The Power of FocusThe power of focus is to ask God what the next thing He would have us do is and to focus on that one thing until we progress on it before moving to the next. Proverbs 4:25 says, “Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.”Proverbs 16:3 also says, to “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”Research shows we can't multitask, so focusing on one goal at a time is essential. The Power of PrioritiesWe can think of financial priorities for the "live, give, grow” pie, starting with the 10/10/80 principle—give 10% first, save/grow 10%, and use the remaining 80% for living expenses. Prioritize giving first, then growing, then living expenses. The big priorities within living are housing, transportation, and food, and we should keep those to less than half of our take-home pay.The Power of PlanningWe must spend money on purpose by making a plan on paper or digitally before each month begins. We recommend using a budgeting app like FaithFi to digitally allocate money to "envelopes" each month for planned expenses. Proverbs 27:23 tells us to “Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds,”Larry Burkett popularized the envelope system in the past, and even digitally savvy couples sometimes find it helpful to use cash envelopes to control their spending in some categories better. The Power of CashIf you only use cash, you can't easily go into debt. Proverbs 21:20 reminds us, "Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man's dwelling, but a foolish man devours it.”Proverbs 22:7 also says, “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.”The Power of Decision-MakingGod's Word teaches that we can always go to Him when unsure of what to do.James 1:5 tells us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”Here is a flowchart approach to decision-making, asking questions like if the expense is essential, whether it will help or hurt financial goals, whether it can wait, and whether there are less expensive options:Is this expense essential for our family's survival? Will this purchase help my financial situation? Will this purchase hurt my financial situation? Will this purchase move me toward meeting my financial goals? Can we wait to incur this expense? Is there a less expensive alternative? On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:When I had my first baby, I had an attorney draft a will. Now I'm finding all of this about probate. My youngest is 18, and I am looking to see what I can do instead of having a will because of probate court. I made sure all my accounts had beneficiaries, and I'm looking to get my house title transferred upon death. What would you advise for that? How can I eliminate that will since it doesn't apply anymore? My kids are older and other people that I put in there I no longer want to be in there. Medicare has notified me that they automatically provide prescription or drug coverage, so they gave me a new card. However, I already have Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage, which works fine, but I would have to opt out of what Medicare provides. I started to opt out of what Medicare provided but wanted your feedback since they already provided it. Do you have any thoughts? In today's Mom On Purpose Book Club episode, we're are going to revisit Greg McKeown's book "Essentialism". This was one of the very first books that I did when I started the book club and it was crazy to go back and reread it and see how many things from the book I applied. This was one of those life changing books for me and I hope that it will also help you identify what is important for you right now by adopting essentialism. Even if you have read it before. I would highly recommend listening to this as we talk about it, and discover how to live with purpose and intention. What you'll learn:Ideas for decluttering life to focus on what's most importantThe significance of focusing on the "vital few" instead of the "trivial many"The importance of solitude, inward reflection, play, sleep, and selective focusThe value of boundaries and when it's okay to quitFeatured on the Show: Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeownClick HERE to watch this video to learn The 3 Things to Avoid When Reading Self-Help BooksHow to Connect with Lara: Web: www.larajohnsoncoaching.com Instagram: www.instagram.com/j.lara.johnson/ Facebook: www.facebook.com/larajohnsoncoaching Work with Lara: www.larajohnsoncoaching.com/work-with-me/

On this episode of In The Circle, we explore deep into the heart of recovery and self-discovery, guided by a compelling inquiry from Tim—How can I change my response when confronting people, places, and things that trigger frustration and irritability? This question is not just relevant but essential for those of us on the path of recovery, as it touches on the core issue of dealing with our reactions when we no longer hide behind addictive behaviors. The externally focused mind highlights the common trap of seeking satisfaction from outside sources, which often leads to frustration, anger, and a sense of failure when things don't align the way that “we” want them to. We must look inward and understand that true peace and alignment come from within, not from the external world. This internal focus shifts the emphasis from external validation to internal peace and self-awareness. Recovery is not just about abstaining from addictive behaviors, but also about elevating our consciousness and living a life of presence, kindness, and compassion.Tommy discussesShifting our focus from external validation to internal peaceWhy we all need self-reflection and inner focusThe benefits of developing a ‘neutral mind' How to stay centered during difficult timesThe true nature of addiction SPECIAL LIMITED TIME OFFER: Join Tommy Rosen for The 8-hour Awakening, a live, online, transformational journey beginning December 9, 2023. Jonathan Jay's first foray into business transactions dates back to 1999, when he sold a business, and later in 2006, he made his first acquisition. Five years ago, he began imparting his wisdom to others, teaching them the intricacies of business buying. His outstanding achievement of buying a group of companies from a private equity fund for just £1, only to sell them 11 months later for a staggering £1m+, sparked a surge of interest from aspiring dealmakers. Jonathan decided to answer their call and thus, dealmakers.co.uk was born. Today, it stands as one of the world's premier training companies, dedicated to teaching people how to acquire small businesses without cash or risk. Jonathan's approach to teaching is commendable - he believes in providing access to quality education for everyone, offering 80% of his educational resources for free through his podcast, YouTube channel, and books. HOW TO AVOID COMMON MISTAKES AND MAXIMIZE SUCCESS IN BUYING BUSINESSES As we navigate an economic recession brought on by the pandemic, there are ample opportunities for buying businesses as many owners accelerate retirement plans due to economic uncertainty. If you're thinking about buying a business, the current climate might offer you numerous motivated sellers and great deals. Jonathan has identified key challenges that people often encounter when buying businesses. Understanding these potential pitfalls can significantly enhance your business acquisition success. Don't Skip the ProcessFirst, it's essential to understand that buying a business is a systematic process - it isn't something you should make up as you go along. Jonathan has a complete business buying system that consists of 21 steps. The common mistake he notices is when people choose not to follow this system, leading to longer transaction times and higher costs. In his words, "The people who don't follow the system always seem to... take longer, cost them more money." Don't Use Your Own MoneyThe second mistake that Jonathan sees people make is spending their own money to buy a business. He argues that your "skin in the game" should be the effort and skill you bring to the deal, rather than your hard-earned money or family's money. In his opinion, you should aim to buy a business where you don't risk any of your own cash. Don't Buy a JobThe third pitfall is buying businesses that are too small - buying yourself a job rather than a business. The argument is that buying a million-dollar business, even as your first one, has its advantages. It will likely have better financials and management and be more stable. Furthermore, a million-dollar business making a 20% profit offers $200,000 per year, which can significantly transform your financial situation. Have Clarity and FocusThe final point revolves around the importance of having clarity and focus. Jonathan stresses that successful dealmakers know where they're going, what they want to achieve, how they're going to achieve it, and then take big leaps rather than small hops. • • • FOR MORE ON JONATHAN JAY:https://dealmakers.co.uk/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/jonathan-jay-3556b230/ Corey Kupfer is an expert strategist, negotiator, and dealmaker.
