Elyse Fitzpatrick and Jessica Thompson are one of my favorite mother-daughter pairs of all time. Both of these women are writers, speakers, and leaders in their own rights, but they also joined forces to write the book we'll discuss today. If you are a parent or grandparent of kids of any age, an auntie, uncle, nanny or teacher or have any interaction with children you love, this episode is for you. It sure was for me. If you want your home and relationships to be drenched in freedom and grace and joy instead of shame or guilt or holy-catfish-how-will-we-possibly-survive-this-season-with-this-child, this episode is for you. A parenting experience rooted entirely in the scandalous grace of God? SIGN. ME. UP. Jessica Thompson is a pastor at Risen Church in San Diego. She has her Master's in Biblical Studies from Redemption Seminary. She is a mother of three adult children and loves the Padres with her whole heart.Elyse holds a certificate in biblical counseling from CCEF (San Diego) and an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from Trinity Theological Seminary. She has authored more than 25 books on daily living and the Christian life. Elyse loves to proclaim the good news of the gospel: That Jesus, the Second Person of the Trinity, perfectly obeyed all the Law in our place, suffered in isolation and agony as punishment for our sin, died, and then rose again, all for our justification.A frequent speaker at national conferences, she has been married for over 50 years and has three adult children and six really adorable grandchildren. Along with her husband, Phil, Elyse attends Grace Bible Church in Escondido, California.Follow Elyse: @Elyse_FitzFollow Jessica: @revjesslouVisit KimberlyStuart.com/podcast for more from this episode.

In this episode of Ojai Talk of the Town, we sit down with Jessica Thompson, owner of Green Goddess Garden, to discuss the vital steps homeowners and communities can take to protect their properties from the ever-present threat of wildfires. With recent devastation in Pacific Palisades and Los Angeles serving as a stark reminder, Jessica shares her expertise on creating defensible spaces, adopting responsible building practices, and restoring native plants to enhance resilience. Jessica also talked about her game-changing visit to Iranian-American architect and writer's Nadir Khalili's property near Hemet, and the incredibly firesafe homes and buildings he created near Hesperia. Khalili, who died in 2008, is regarding as a pioneer in sustainable, eminently livable homes. We also explore the benefits of drought-tolerant landscaping and how these practices intersect with Ojai's thriving citrus industry, a cornerstone of our local economy. Whether you're looking to safeguard your home or support sustainable land stewardship, this episode offers practical advice and a deep dive into the challenges and opportunities facing our community in fire-prone Southern California. We did not talk about fiat currency, the evolution of baseball gloves or the Humboldt Current. Check out more about Jessica at GGGOjai.com. Or about Khalili's work at CalEarth.org.

We talk about God's love, but do we understand He held Himself upon that cross out of compassion for us, knowing that suffering was our destination without Him? Frequent conference speaker and podcast regular, author Jessica Thompson explores the compassion of Christ and the impact it can have in our lives and beyond us, touching the hearts of others when we see them through His eyes. As Thompson reminds us, we desire God's love for ourselves but sometimes find it difficult to love others the way He loves, especially the marginalized. She shares that the things that often turn us away from people are the very things that turn God's heart towards people. Jesus, as the Son of God, sees our worst, and as man wrapped in flesh, He understands the pain of it. He desires that we receive His love, His compassion and then extend it. Together let's find how far the deep, deep love of Jesus can reach. For Show Notes & Episode Details: https://theinfluencerspodcast.orgGet more inspirational content all week…FACEBOOK: https://facebook.com/theinfluencerspodcastofficialINSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/theinfluencerspodcastofficial/TWITTER: https://twitter.com/hearinfluencersYOUTUBE: https://youtube.com/@TheInfluencersPodcastLearn more about Jessica Thomspon and get a copy of her book He Loved Them wherever books are sold.

This was my third trip and I still walked away immensely impacted by the stories shared. In this month's bonus series you'll hear from two leaders who led the trip and a few voices from those who attended. On the first episode of this three part series, I'm joined with two friends, Jessica Thompson and Becky Kiser. Curious what kind of success students of Laptop Lifestyle Bootcamp achieve after leaving the program? This week I am joined by LLB Alum (& my bestie) Jess Thompson to take a look at her business journey and the factors that have helped her grow from tech VA to the go-to Dubsado expert for high-level entrepreneurs. From getting started before she knew exactly what she wanted to do, to niching down and upleveling her skills to stand out - there is so much to learn about commitment and self-belief from Jess's story   Jessica Thompson is a full-time traveler, wine lover, and amateur photographer. She has a sociology and business degree, and before traveling the world, worked in a law firm with the aim to become a constitutional attorney. Once she and her partner left to travel, they never looked back. When she lost her teaching job 2 years into traveling (and during Covid), she started her biz with Amanda's help! Jess enrolled in LLB, and planned on only having this biz until she could find a new, stable job. Now 2 years later her business is thriving. Jess's favorite things to do are eat and drink with her love, explore new cities, go for runs and hiking trips.      In this episode, we cover… Why Jess started a business even though it wasn't her long-term goal How she figured out what she wanted to do The process and payoff of niching down over time Becoming damn good at what you do Allowing yourself to grow and shift as you go   Quotes "Evolving my process and constantly doing that for every single round of clients that I have has helped me develop the process that I have now. But it was literally just starting and getting the clients and figuring it out"   "Whenever you believe in what you do and you embody it, it makes the difference in the world."   Links & Resources Mentioned in this Episode Laptop Lifestyle Co Links: Website Instagram Tik Tok YouTube Channel   Other Links Mentioned: Laptop Lifestyle Bootcamp Jess's Instagram Jess's Newsletter Jess's Investment Guide
