Bob (guitar/vocals), Russ (drums), Stu (guitar/vocals), and Tim (bass) strive to deliver a unique blend of Rock and Blues soaked in gasoline for your eardrums. Formed in the post-pandemic world on the mean streets of Seven Hills, four musicians set out to deliver freakish blues and familiar grooves to your soul. RCR brings a multitude of expressions and influences to the stage. From hard-hitting Rock and Grunge to old-school Blues with a modern spin. For the Record with Daniel Fontaine

In this latest episode Coun. Paul Minhas appears as part of the regular Council Roundup feature. A number of topics were on the table including an interesting debate regarding the placement of a new public toilet at the corner of Begbie and Front St next to the Interurban building. Is the toilet still being installed, or isn't it?The more things change, the more they stay the same. It was StatusQuo2.0 at "Club41" aka Metro Vancouver this week as they chose their new chair of the Board. He is none other than Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley. The Chair didn't bother to let the public (aka Metro Vancouver shareholders) that he was running until minutes before his name was put on the ballot - thus conveniently avoiding any media scrutiny. He also made some interesting comments about a 'review' to take place regarding the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant financial debacle.Metro Vancouver was also making headlines this week for all the wrong reasons. News media were reporting that the CAO for Metro Vancouver was paid over $700K in compensation and benefits in 2023. That's after the Board provided him with a hefty pay raise. How will that sit with taxpayers struggling to make ends meet? Will 2025 be the year New Westminster gets its Canada Day fireworks back? Or will it be a special drone show over the Fraser River. We discuss a motion coming to New West Council that aims to kickstart a discussion. In 2026 FIFA will be in our region and New West will be participating in the party. As part of that discussion, Council agreed to purchase up to two large outdoor digital screens to use in the community. Is it possible that sponsorships or grants can be used to offset the costs? Minhas moved a motion to explore that opportunity. What is SOFI? It's a report that outlines all of the expenditures at the City of New West. Interestingly well over $200,000 in transition allowances for several former elected officials was paid out in two separate calendar years. We explore what might be behind that move.In our look ahead segment, we talk about two motions coming to Council on July 8th in support of Community Safety Officers and a restriction on international travel for elected officials. We also discuss June 30 as Indigenous Survivors Day in New West.As always, the podcast is packed with great information and commentary. It's available for download on all major platforms.

This episode is for parents who want to have open conversations with their kids, but may not know how to facilitate that communication, who may have some discomfort around discussing sensitive topics, and who want more information about navigating this part of parenting. If you want to show up for your kids in an open and intentional way, but feel uncomfortable talking about sex, gender and sexuality, this episode is for you. In this video, we talk about starting these conversations, staying open without projecting biases, teaching consent and boundaries, sex education and even addressing the often-overlooked aspects from a healthcare perspective. These topics can feel uncomfortable but they are a necessary and important part of parenting, and also of the human experience. As parents, teachers and trusted adults, we need to be able to navigate uncomfortable conversations. So grab a cozy seat, because this isn't just an interview. It's a narrative style, storytelling episode with voices from real people, experts and parents. Join Dr Rishma Walji and Dr Ashifa Jiwa for this narrative style podcast with real stories from people who have come out with their families. To sign up for Rishma's newsletter about personal growth, intentional living, and decision making: Sign Up HereHow intentional are you? What is up to my lovable llamas and aspirational alpacas! Welcome back to the BNP and thank you for tuning in. This episode features a zany audio tidbit that I had a lot of fun making, and hopefully is fun for you to listen to. I needed to get those monkeys off my back like we need to free all the sweet macaque monkeys from the laboratories. Sometimes when I am falling asleep I see the faces of macaque monkeys, they are very sensitive and intelligent, more intelligent than we self-centered hoomans realize. But I digress. Also featured is a recent Barbarian Yak Fest where I share the latest videos I received from Maui. Eyewitness accounts of individuals who experienced first hand the blocked exits out of Lahaina while at the same time funneling traffic onto Front St. as the fire bore down, as well as the water being shut off as they desperately attempted to quench the flames. I will continue to shine light on what happened on Maui, don't believe the news. And for the record: any conversation about "climate change" that doesn't acknowledge and account for geoengineering is missing the point. That's my opinion. We finish off this tidy ep with an Outro reading where I share some spells from Ileana Abrev for combatting depression. I appreciate the love, support and feedback. What's up love doves! Welcome back to the BNP and thank you for supporting, showing up and sharing some headspace with me. This ep features a recent Barbarian Yak Fest stream (I do Yakstreams on Rokfin most Friday AM's from 9-10AM AZ time) about the developing situation on Maui.  I have a good brother up mauka on the island in one of the impact zones and I have been tracking the event closely. There are way too many bizarre oddities surrounding these fires that make zero sense. The alarm system having been deactivated coupled with the fire hydrants being emptied and water having been shut down to Lahaina points to arson. Police had blocked all the exits out of Lahaina and were funneling people onto Front St. as the fires approached. This looks like a land grab for sure, but also something much darker. Slight format shift alert moving forward beloveds: I am going to be releasing more content from my Rokfin video show, Barbarian Yak Fest, on the RSS feed, because I'm creating a lot of content and want to get it out there. This ep does feature a zany audio tidbit, because I care, but not all the Yak Fest shares will.  Don't fret: I will still be releasing the OG classic BNP eps every 2-3 weeks. Thanks for joining friends. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Jazzett and Dwight at their newly reconstructed warehouse in downtown Memphis, called 99 Front St. This space will serve as the home of their new venture, Tru and Blu, a unique combination of a teahouse and art café. The name is a tribute to their twin boys, True and Blue, with whom they share a beautiful and heartbreaking story. As we sat across from them, Jazzett's runway-model-like stature and confident smile complemented Dwight's contemplative demeanor and impressive dreadlocks and beard. They have been together for two years, and their connection is palpable. They describe their love as divine and beautiful, a journey that has brought them together to heal, learn, and grow.Jazzett's life story is one of both fun and adventure as a runway model and of painful experiences, including sexual abuse and physical violence. On the other hand, Dwight was raised by a single mother and lost her to breast cancer when he was young. He found himself on a destructive path before becoming a father and ultimately a single parent. This was his turning point, which led him to escape his own domestic violence and grow as a person.Together, Jazzett and Dwight have been healing from their past traumas, growing together, and building their dreams. They are on a beautiful journey of learning more about each other and themselves, and they're excited to share their story with the world. This week, we thank everyone who came out the the opening of the Gallery at Steel Pixel, featuring the works of Michael Freeman, and talk with visual/collage artist Kailey Atkinson about the art of collage!Kailey Atkinson is an artist and creative professional from Easton, PA. Her primary mediums are mixed media collage with 2D and 3D elements, illustration, and paper craft. She collects imagery from sources dating back to the late 1800's, but most often from the early to mid 1900s. Through found imagery and the experimentation of a range of materials, Atkinson creates new narratives that explore topics like body image, memory, mental illness, identity, feminism, gender roles, politics, and personality, because she feels it is necessary to expose what is below the surface in her art. She also makes work that could be viewed as nonsensical, humorous, or a celebration of not taking life too seriously. Her work may seem simply playful at first, drawing viewers in with glitter, vibrant colors, mysterious textures, sassy sayings, and unexpected juxtapositions of imagery. Upon closer looking, she hopes viewers find connections to their own experiences and recognize the deeper meaning within her work. To view her work, you can follow her on Instagram at @kaileycatkinson, go to LEARKE found at 65 N. 4th St. Easton, PA 18042, or check her out at the Indiemade Craft Market on 12/24/21 at the Starlite Ballroom in the Fearless Fire Company found at 1221 S. Old Dominick Distillery dates back to the late 1800s and was founded by Domenico Canale, an Italian immigrant. Having family in Memphis, with origins in the fruit business, Canale headed to Tennessee to join the business. Realizing he'd rather make whiskey instead of selling fruit, Old Dominick, the whiskey, was born. Three days before Prohibition, Canale passed away, and whiskey production and sales ceased.Today, Canale's dream has been revived, and we were fortunate to be able to chat with Alex Castle, Master Distiller at the now very much alive and vibrant Old Dominick Distillery. Her story takes into account the rich history of the Canale family while crafting a future in distilling that will continue traditions while still pushing the boundaries.Meet Alex Castle, Master Distiller at Old Dominick DistilleryAlex Castle became the Master Distiller and an integral part of the Canale venture in 2015 when the design process for Old Dominick Distillery began to take shape. Production started in 2016, and the doors finally opened in 2017, giving downtown Memphis its first distillery to make whiskey since before Prohibition.Spending most of her childhood wanting to be a marine biologist, Alex wasn't sure what to do when in high school she found out that she had no interest in biology. She fondly looks back at that defining moment in her life, realizing at the age of 14 she may have already had her mid-life crisis.Instead, she fell in love with physics, chemistry, and calculus, resulting in her attending the University of Kentucky to study chemical engineering. And thankfully, for spirit lovers everywhere, following advice from her mom, she became a master distiller.Bourbon is no longer just your Grandpa's drink. As a distiller for Old Dominick, not only is Alex crafting age-old, traditional spirits, she's innovating within those traditions. Ages are shifting within the bourbon movement, and we are seeing an increased diversity in consumer palates. Alex is an expert at crafting the spirits we desire when we gather around a table with friends, and that is her main passion for distilling, creating connections and building community.Chatting with Alex was like sitting back with an old friend around a cozy fireplace sipping on excellent bourbon. It was easy, fun, and enlightening. Since her goal is to bring people together over a good drink, I would say she has achieved that goal, both in the distillery and far beyond the walls that started it all. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed talking with her.
