March is Women's History Month, but some leftist influencers are encouraging women to use the month to express “feminine rage.” And some of this “rage” was on full display recently as many female Democrats refused to stand or clap during President Donald Trump's recent address to Congress. The leftist leaders sat in pink to recognize women, even though they had just voted to block a bill that would protect women's sports. A few female Democrats took this notion of “rage” it a step further, issuing a cringy “choose your fighter” video on TikTok. On this week's edition of “Problematic Women,” Janae Stracke, vice president of outreach and advocacy at The Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action for America, joins the show to discuss the effect of Democrats recent actions on women, and the ongoing budget fight on Capitol Hill. Also on today's show, we catch up on the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni drama and discuss the likely TRUE story behind the fiasco. Enjoy the show! Learn more about your ad choices. Elected in 2024, Brad is serving his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives. In the 119th Congress, Brad serves on the House Judiciary, Transportation & Infrastructure and Homeland Security committees. Brad's focus in Congress is combatting pervasively serious crime, building an environment for continued economic growth in North Carolina's 13th District and across the nation and defending against persistent threats to our country from within our own borders.Prior to serving in Congress, Brad proudly worked alongside law enforcement at all levels to prosecute organized crime in cases that touched every corner of the country. This included drug cartels, human trafficking, financial crimes, national gangs and more. From this experience, Brad saw how harmful policies and weak law enforcement wounded communities all over the country. This, in large part, motivated Brad to run for office.Brad looks to pull from his experience to support robust law enforcement while strengthening the laws to simultaneously disincentivize illegal immigration and protect Americans from all types of crime.Brad and his wife Joanna are both lifelong North Carolinians and have two daughters. This week, President Trump addressed a joint session of Congress. Clocking in at over an hour and forty minutes, the speech was the longest address a president has delivered to America's legislature in recent history. It covered the president's accomplishments so far in his administration, from DOGE to border enforcement to economic policy, as well as shedding some light on the president's plans for the future. To understand some of the key takeaways from Trump's speech, I sat down with Ryan Walker, the Executive Vice President of Heritage Action for America. —Follow Ryan Walker on X: https://x.com/ryanlwalkerLearn more about Heritage Action for America: https://heritageaction.com/—Have thoughts? On today's Top News in 10: Pete Hegseth, the former Fox News host and veterans advocate, spent more than four hours before the Senate Armed Services Committee at his confirmation hearing Tuesday. Ryan Walker of Heritage Action for America joins the show to discuss President-elect Donald Trump's pick for secretary of defense and Heritage Action's $1 million ad campaign to support the confirmation of Trump's nominees. Special counsel Jack Smith's final report asserts federal prosecutors lacked grounds to charge Trump with incitement for the Jan. 6, 2021, protests at the U.S. Capitol. The report also concludes the was not “direct evidence—such as an explicit admission or communication with co-conspirators—of Mr. Trump's subjective intent to cause the full scope of the violence that occurred.” The U.S. House is voting on the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which is expected to pass with Democrat votes. Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., sponsored the legislation, which prohibits any school that receives federal funding from allowing men to compete in women's sports. Additional headlines: The Biden administration is considering commuting the sentence of the convicted felon who stole and leaked incoming President Trump's tax records along with those of thousands of other taxpayers. Los Angeles resident James Breslo nearly lost his home in the Palisades Fire last week. Now he's speaking out and pinpointing the blame on the city's homeless population. Former first lady Michelle Obama won't attend the January 20 festivities in Washington, but her husband, Barack Obama, will be there with former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. 49 days to go until election day ... If you're not keeping count, aren't you glad we are?!? On today's show: it's been called the MAGA blueprint for remaking the federal government ... and has become a lightening rod for debate and controversy on the campaign trail. It's Project 2025, and we're talking with the organization that created it. But first, let's take a quick sprint around the political world: Donald Trump is holding his first campaign rally since the second assassination attempt against him was foiled. The former president will be in the crucial swing state of Michigan, holding a townhall style event in Flint. Meanwhile multiple investigations into Sunday's incident at Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach are just getting underway ... as the Secret Service looks to ramp up protection procedures around the candidate. The Biden administration's deputy attorney general said today that the Justice Department is fielding an alarming surge of violent threats against public officials and election workers. The risks for poll workers and state and local election officials is said to be particularly troubling ... with increasing fears that violent acts might be carried out on election day itself. Vice President Kamala Harris had what was reported as a "tense" meeting with leadership from the Teamsters Union ... emerging WITHOUT an endorsement from the labor organization representing some 1-point-3-million workers. While Harris has received endorsements from just about every major labor union in the country, Sean O'Brien and his Teamsters have been holding out. If an endorsement comes, it could happen as soon as tomorrow. It is a 900-page wish list for the next Republican president of the United States ... with plans for remaking the entire federal bureaucracy in a far more conservative light and tearing down much of the administrative state. But Project 2025 from the right-wing think tank, the Heritage Foundation, doesn't stop there: it's a conservative re-imagination of American life, from immigration to abortion to LGBTQ rights. That's the focus for today's Countdown 2024 ... we're talking with Ryan Walker, he's the executive vice president of Heritage Action ... the lobbying and advocacy arm of the Heritage Foundation.

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court ended its 2024 term by handing down landmark decisions in a number of key cases, including the all-important Trump v. United States. Left-wing pundits, members of Congress, and even President Biden were quick to make wild claims about the Court's ruling on presidential immunity, with some asserting the president is now free to arrest, deport, or even murder his political enemies. Could any of this be true? Is the president now empowered to use the military to commit heinous crimes? That's what the Left wants you to believe—because they want you to see the Supreme Court as illegitimate following a string of decisions that restore constitutional order and put power back in the hands of the people. So, what did the Court decide—and how will it affect you?Vice President of the Heritage Institute for Constitutional Government John Malcolm sat down with guest host Cody Sargent, director of communications at Heritage Action, to restore some sanity to the conversation and break down the summer's biggest SCOTUS decisions. The House passed a four-bill $95 billion foreign aid package over the weekend that includes $60 billion in additional aid for Ukraine. The bill could cost House Speaker Mike Johnson his job. The aid package passed in a 311-112 vote with the unanimous support of Democrats and 101 Republicans voting in favor of the bill.Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., threatened to introduce a motion to remove Johnson, R-La., from his position as speaker if he brought the funding for Ukraine to the House floor for a vote. “I think she's looking at the totality of what's come across the floor over the past few months, and she is expressing extreme disappointment with that,” Ryan Walker, executive vice president of Heritage Action for America, says of Greene. (The Daily Signal is the news outlet of The Heritage Foundation, of which Heritage Action is the grassroots arm.)Greene left Washington at the end of last week without introducing the motion to vacate the speaker but said during an interview Sunday on Fox News that she still planned to try to oust Johnson. “Mike Johnson's speakership is over,” Greene said on “Sunday Morning Futures,” adding, “He needs to do the right thing—to resign and allow us to move forward in a controlled process. If he doesn't do so, he will be vacated.” Less than one year after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was ousted from the role, Capitol Hill is bracing for the potential of another speakership battle when Congress returns to Washington next week. Walker joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to explain the reason for the sharp divide in Congress over the foreign aid package and the likelihood Johnson will face removal as speaker. Walker also explains where Congress is getting the money to send to Ukraine. Enjoy the show! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
President Joe Biden discussed some of the biggest issues on the minds of Americans, from border security to abortion and the economy, in his State of the Union address Thursday night. But what issues did Biden ignore that he should have talked about? Were there any unifying moments? And how did members of Congress in the audience respond to the president in his fourth such address? Cody Sargent, communications director for Heritage Action for America, joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to talk about the biggest moments of the night. Voters in 15 states are headed to the polls or to caucuses Tuesday, in what is arguably the most important day in the 2024 presidential primary season; that is, Super Tuesday. Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia are all holding primaries. Caucuses will be held in Alaska and Utah. Ryan Walker, Heritage Action for America executive vice president, says that when you look at the states that have already held primaries, “Nikki Haley has not garnered more than 40% of the vote.” So, Walker says he will be watching to see whether the former South Carolina governor can go beyond that threshold in states voting Tuesday. (The Daily Signal is the news outlet of The Heritage Foundation, of which Heritage Action for America is the grassroots arm.)Former President Donald Trump has already clinched GOP primary and caucus victories in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, Michigan, Idaho, and Missouri. Haley won the D.C. primary over the weekend.Trump got a boost in media coverage ahead of the Super Tuesday voting when on Monday the Supreme Court ruled unanimously in his favor and against Colorado's efforts to remove his name from the ballot there citing the “Insurrection Clause” of the 14th Amendment. The ruling clears the way for Trump to earn more delegates on Tuesday ahead of the GOP convention in mid-July. “A state cannot decide if a former president, or a former candidate, is allowed to be on the ballot, especially if they have not been convicted of a crime,” Walker said. Walker joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss what issues are driving voters to the polls on Super Tuesday, and what the results could mean for determining who ultimately will be the GOP nominee for president. In our ongoing exploration of who gardeners are, where gardeners are, what they are growing in this world, and why that matters to all of us, I am so excited to be joined this week by Brent Leggs, Senior Vice President of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and Executive Director of the Trust's African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund, whose mission focuses on telling the full American story. The African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund holds a vision of preservation serving as a potential path for equity. The fund is actively working to preserve the landscapes and buildings of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Historic Black Churches, the Washington Rosenwald Schools, as well as the homes and gardens of cultural icons such as Madame C.J. Walker, musicians John and Alice Coltrane, singer/songwriter Nina Simone, and Harlem Renaissance poet and gardener Anne Spencer. The Action Fund is also partnering with community members in Akron, Ohio, on re-creating a public plaza space to preserve the historic activism of once-enslaved abolitionist and author Sojourner Truth, who delivered her “Ain't I a Woman” speech in Akron in 1851. This is a very personal conversation but also a universal love story of the heritage and history held in our places and the importance of that fullness to all of us. Listen In! Cultivating Place now has a donate button! We thank you so much for listening over the years, and we hope you'll support Cultivating Place. The polls didn't lie. Former President Donald Trump was projected to be the winner of the Iowa caucuses Monday night just about 30 minutes after they began. In the polls, Trump had a 30-point lead, give or take, over former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as Iowans arrived at their caucus locations at 7 p.m. local time. Following his win, Trump told Fox News Digital that he is “greatly honored by such an early call.""It really is an honor that, minutes after, they've announced I've won—against very credible competition—great competition, actually," Trump said.Eli Huber, Iowa state director of Heritage Action for America, told “The Daily Signal Podcast” he is not surprised by the caucus results. “Based off my conversations with activists all around the state of Iowa, I'm not really surprised that President Trump, despite now being nearly four years since he was in office, continues to have a lot of the same energy that we saw back in 2020,” Huber says. New Hampshire voters will head to the polls Jan. 23 to cast their ballots in the first primary of the 2024 election, followed by South Carolina voters on Feb. 24.Huber joins the show to discuss the results of the Iowa caucuses, and the leading issues on the minds of voters as they begin casting ballots for the Republican 2024 presidential nominee. The fourth, and perhaps final, Republican presidential primary debate as four candidates met Wednesday night in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Once again, GOP front-runner Donald Trump declined to appear.Sarah Feldpausch, director of government relations at Heritage Action for America, joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss the biggest hits and misses of this fourth debate. (The Daily Signal is the news outlet of The Heritage Foundation, whose grassroots advocacy arm is Heritage Action.)Gathered without Trump at the University of Alabama were Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. The debate could well be the final GOP presidential debate before the Iowa caucuses Jan. 15. Since the third GOP debate Nov. 8, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina dropped out of the race. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, who didn't meet qualification tests for the third debate, announced Monday that he is suspending his campaign. Trump chose to skip the fourth debate as he did the preceding ones, instead participating Tuesday night in a live "town hall" meeting hosted by Fox News host Sean Hannity in Davenport, Iowa. On the night of the debate, Trump planned to hold a fundraiser in Florida. Feldpausch also assesses Trump's live appearance Tuesday night with Hannity. Enjoy the show! Hosted on Acast.
