Full tracklist via https://1001.tl/80bhhvThis week, we start with Argentinian techno producer Ailen DC's "Alternate Universe." She is one of the most talented newcomers on Redlof Records, and I love her unique vibe. Ailen DC embodies the spirit of innovation and freshness in the techno scene. Her track, "Alternate Universe," is a mesmerizing journey through sound, encapsulating what makes techno not just music but an experience. This kind of creativity and passion fuels our weekly exploration of the genre on The Midnight Project.Other artists featured in this episode include Roman Adam, Pagano, Tomas Sinn, Subgate, Diego Amaro, The Reactivitz, Victor Ruiz, Bart Skils, Timothy Allen, Superstrobe, Andrea Signore, VELOX (DE), Christian Smith, and John Selway. Each of these artists brings unique energy and style, creating a rich tapestry of sounds that perfectly align with our brand mission of immersing fans in the fusion of techno beats and a balanced lifestyle philosophy.Let's spotlight another artist in this episode: Victor Ruiz. His track "Red Lights," especially in its Bart Skils Motor Speedway Rework, is a testament to the transformative power of techno. Ruiz's sound perfectly blends intensity and harmony, capturing the essence of my values - authenticity, health and wellness, and community. His music is not just for the dance floor; it's for reflective moments, for finding a connection with oneself and the world around us.The full tracklist for this episode is available via 1001 Tracklists. Every track selected is a piece of our story - a story of passion, energy, and balance. The Midnight Project isn't just a radio show; it's a weekly ritual where the bustling souls across Europe and the U.S. can unite in their love for techno and a well-rounded, active lifestyle. So, please tune in to this week's episode and be carried away by the pulsating beats and the captivating stories behind them. It's a journey through the heart of techno, and I'm thrilled to be your guide.Sebastiaan Hooft

Subscribe via iTunes : apple.co/2Zd51cs Interview & Tracklist : https://bit.ly/3AolsEr Guests are encouraged to explore a bit further into their collections with an opportunity to step away from the dance floor if they desire. For the twenty fifth episode we welcome Jason Szostek aka @b-p-m-f who has been active producing music and as a live act since 1995. Solo as BPMF as well as being 1/3 of the Prototype 909 project and live act. Diante de uma realidade prevista em um momento onde as máquinas assumem novos papéis na sociedade, escutar novamente um pouco de Electro certamente é buscar o entendimento desse cenário. Man Machine Vol 01 é dedicado ao gênero robótico.

This week we're thrilled to welcome to The Armory, DJ Justin Johnson of San Francisco. One of the hardest working men in the business, Johnson runs four labels including Barely Legal Records. While Johnson is an accomplished DJ in his own right, he is respected by artists around the globe and has helped us line up some serious talent for the Armory Podcast, which we very much appreciate (thank you, Justin!). Now press play and get down! Justin Johnson is a DJ and producer from the San Francisco Bay Area spinning Breaks, House, and Tech House. He also operates Cable Recordings, Barely Legal Records, Cylon Dub Receptor, and Southern Vice Recordings. With a discography of more than forty tracks, he has worked with John Selway, Johnny Dangerously, and Johan Afterglow, as well as remixes for iiO, DJ Punk-Roc, Nigel Richards, Velcro City Records, Beyond Zilla, and Quartz Lock. As a kid, he was raised on heavy doses of Blues, Jazz, and Funk, and when the New Wave scene started he became mesmerized by the sounds of the synthesizers, staying up late listening to the radio just hoping to hear Gary Numan or Afrika Bambaata. In high school he started to link up with other DJs, landed his own radio show on KSRH (San Rafael, CA), and honed his skills with good friend Mr. E and other local DJs. During his college years he would spend hours mixing with John Howard and going to the underground events in the SF Bay Area. In 1994 he made a move to New York City and within a year of being in the north east, his shoulder was tapped by Scotty Marz, the founding father of Kingsize USA promotions, to become part of the crew. One year later he had built up such a solid reputation that he was recruited by Scott Richmond and Jonathan Kadish (aka Mr. Kleen) to work at the world famous Satellite Records in New York City. Justin quickly made a massive impact in the store and became the Breaks buyer and the stock manager for all three stores (Boston, NYC, Atlanta). Satellite offered the opportunity to not only be on the cutting edge of new sounds and producers, but also to be able to help cultivate the sounds of other DJs like Danny Tenaglia, DJ Icey, Adam Freeland, DJ Dan, Dave Dresden, Thomas Bangalter, Todd Terry, and just about any other taste-maker in the industry. After years of consistently rocking the north east in renowned venues like The Limelight, The Tunnel, The Roxy, Roseland Ballroom, and Irving Plaza, he became known as the “King of Breaks” in NYC, and an appearance at a massive NYC festival (6th Element) was so impressive that it even caught the ears of The New York Times. Justin always brings the futuristic funk with him and you can hear his influences from the old school to the latest innovators - from Kraftwerk, King Tubby, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, John Coltrane, Giorgio Moroder, Gino Soccio, and all the way up to Bass Bin Twins, King Yoof, Lee Coombs, The Freestylers, Badboe, Olav Basoski, Maceo Plex, and Carl Cox. His passion for DJing is still as strong now as it was when he started more than twenty-five years ago, and he is still on the radio running his internet show called ‘Techtonic Funk Brigade ‘on NSB Radio (1st and 3rd Fridays 5pm-7pm PST). Recording since 1989 he and has released over 80 12" singles and 3 full length albums. In 2001 he had a Number 1 hit on the German Dance Charts (DDC) with the song "One Night in NYC" and in 2004 his album "Manic Panic" went to Number 1 on the German Alternative Chart (DAC). The scope of his music catalog is huge and he has recorded for every major label (Universal, Sony, Warner, Koch, etc...) and all the best known techno labels (Tresor, Industrial Strength, Neue Heimat, etc..). The Horrorist has worked with the biggest names in techno including Chris Liebing, Ben Sims, Frank Kvitta, DJ Rush, The Hacker, Marc Acardipane, John Selway, Frankie Bones, Ricardo Villalobos, Haujobb, Radical G and more have all remixed and produced with The Horrorist. His subsequent albums “Attack Decay” (2007) and “Joyless Pleasure” (2011) have been met rave reviews! His new album “Fire Funmania” was released in January 2013. Although dance orientated most of his songs have vocals and usually progress to a crescendo at or near the end. The writer of many music books and NY newspaper columnist of the Village Voice, Simon Reynolds called Oliver Chesler "My favorite contemporary American singer-songwriter.". A wide range of influences from Depeche Mode to Leonard Cohen factor into Chesler's song writing manifesting into a completely original sound. His ability to make song structured music work on the dance floor is a big key to his success. His vocal technique is quite original and unique. He also refuses not to stick in one genre so on any given record expect styles from indie new wave, electro, EBM, techno, to synthpunk. Horrorist productions are known for being produced extremely well with lots of fancy tricks and effects. His music tech know how has led to interviews and endorsements by pro-audio companies such as TC Electronic, D16, Analogue Solutions and Linplug Instruments. In 1997 Oliver Chesler started the hugely respected Things to Come Records. Originally a business decision to take control of his own royalties the label has also given The Horrorist and other TTC label artists freedom to produce the music they like. With a Publishing deal with Strengholt Music group (Netherlands). Oliver Chesler is one of the few artists and label-owners making something new, groundbreaking, and original that gets wider acclaim. "Things To Come does exactly what the name suggests, and that gives the future something to look forward for....." - Frankie Bones The Horrorist is a sensational live act. A mixture of industrial attitude and punk style with synth-techno music. Playing a set that goes from minimal or new wave all the way to hardcore and everything in between, there is something for everyone. But the biggest thing about the Horrorist's sets is the interactivity that comes with having a live performer that a crowd is capable of understanding. The show is comprised of Chesler's in your face vocals, video projection and live drum machine and synth. The Horrorist performs regularly around the world and has played in every major nightclub and for most major event organizations. He's wowed crowds from LA to Malta. Definitely something else, check it out if at all possible!! The Horrorist is one of those unique artists that only come around once in a while. He is a big influence on the electronic music scene and will be for years to come. On May 13, 2011 The Horrorist released his third full length album titled “Joyless Pleasure”. French music photographer Morganistik wrote, "The Horrorist new album “Joyless pleasure”is out today on Things to Come records. Softer and surprisingly romantic but still full of energy and extremely tortured. You can’t put one style tag on the album. In the 1st track “Modern” the voice will make you think of Ian Curtis from Joy Division. “Joyless pleasure” has a high Depeche Mode feel with ultra pure and detailed synths sounds and effects. “Darkling Lullaby”, “Love sick” and “Lovely Sweet” are 3 ovnis in The Horrorist universe as they are not dance tracks. “Hostage” takes us on an electroclash direction and “I stand with you” in pure EBM style with a Nitzer Ebb impression." ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ★ Tracklist : 1 Oldschool '84 - Container 90 2 Strain - Paranoid 3 Sedation - Front Line Assembly 4 Like I Am / Comme Je Suis (Based On The Sling & Samo Edit) - Tara Cross, Unovidual 5 I Hear The Bells (Original Mix) Danton's Voice 6 Trust (The Horrorist remix) - Dead Sound 7 I Want You - The Concrete Beat 8 Mask Maker - Liars 9 Push - The Invincible Spirit 10 Links-rechts - Tragic Error 11 Acid Tracks - Phuture 12 There's a Place for You (The Horrorist remix) - Ethan Fawkes 13 I Wanna Be Your - Dog Dakar & Grinser 14 Lethal Compound (Harmful If Swallowed Remix) - Front Line Assembly 15 Underpass - John Foxx 16 She said destroy (Original Mix) - Terence Fixmer 17 Stahlwerk (EBM Storm) - Volt 18 Vorwärts - Frontal 19 Misiowie Puszyści (Puławy, Dom Chemika '85 Demo) - Siekiera 20 Fat Cow - Nervous Gender ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ Latest record on "12 : THE TRUTH EP http://www.deejay.de/The_Truth_Ep__141087

The music emanating from the man is that perfect club mix of driving percussion and soaring musicality, bursting out of the speakers, soaking everyone in melody, drenching them in sound. On the floor, where it really matters, his crowd experience all the peaks and troughs that make his music so unique. Locking on early, you'll hear his deeper take on house, which morphs, as the club mood changes, into harder territory, music for sweating and losing yourself to. And at that point when the light are low, when smoke fills the room and people are dancing on instinct, that's when the melodies start to rise over the top, washing the worries and exertions of life away, completing the club experience. That's why Nick Warren is so respected, because he knows how to truly work a club, and a crowd, delivering again and again. That's what comes with vision and, just as importantly, experience. Nick, a music obsessive who grew up on punk, reggae and pop was, like so many DJs turned onto the power of house music in the late 80s. Living in Bristol, he'd been playing tunes for a few years before, running his own club night, Wiggle, in the city with a friend and he took immediately to this new sound coming from America. In 1990, a new house club, Vision took the city by storm and in a perfect bit of timing, he was offered the chance to play in the upstairs room, spinning weird downbeat Balearic records and mixing house with music by The Clash and Frank Sinatra. Catching the attention of a group of guys who had their own band, he was roped in to tour with them as their DJ when they went to play America. The group was Massive Attack. As their official DJ, he began working on music of his own. Joining up with another Bristol producer, Jody Wisternoff in 1994 to form Way Out West, they recorded the seminal 'Ajare' single together, a huge progressive house club hit. Three years later, and with the duo now signed to Deconstruction, it was re-released, this time breaking into the charts and finally, the nation's consciousness. Then came 'The Gift'. With a memorable hook line culled from an old hardcore track, its mix of ambient soundscapes and breaks won it universal plaudits, sending Nick and Jody onto Top of the Pops and catapulting Nick into the league of the superstar DJ. Their three albums, 'Blue' and "Intensify" and took every single one of the pair's influences and shaped them into a groundbreaking collection of tracks that stayed in the CD players of the UK and beyond for a long, long time. Their third album “Don’t Look Now” was released in 2005, which they toured as a live band with Faithless. Album Four We Love Machine has just been released. And yet all this history has been eclipsed by Nick’s present: a DJ career spanning a decade and a half via his lengthy residency superclub Cream and then every self respecting club on the planet. His sound, which is entirely unique, sourced by forging relationships with cutting edge producers all over the globe, most of his set still made up of unsigned new electronic talent. This is no better represented than in the continuing series of compilations. “Back to Mine”, Renaissance his eighth Global Underground album, this time from the wild environs of Lima making him the most featured artists for this huge compilation series. He has also taken over A&R at Hope Recordings as the final link in the chain that allows him to represent the sound that he has so long championed. Nick Warren isn't for standing still, he loves what he's doing too much for that, but you know that already. If you want to see Nick in action, then check him out at the Gallery @ Ministry of Sound this Friday!! Here’s the event link The Gallery presents Nick Warren Peace! Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground MovementDJ UMEKUroš Umek is internationally acclaimed music producer from Slovenia, seducing the masses with his own music blend for more than a decade. Always on the look for new sounds and determined to challenge every existing cliché in music industry, he managed to define his own vision of vanguard techno. Sure, this would not happen without the support of his loyal peers who’ve joined him on the production platforms such as Recycled Loops, Consumer Recreation and Astrodisco, with which they defined “Slovenian techno sound and successfully invested it as an important driving force on the global club scene. The year 2007 marked the beginning of new chapter in Umek’s music career. After spending enormous amount of time and artistic energy bringing his characteristics sound to the whole new level, he presented new international music therapy called 1605 – Sixteenofive. No doubt this was a very risky move for such an established artist as DJ Umek. But it was the only way for him to stay on top of the game. And it seems he picked up the right decision at the crucial time: the response to his new vision of electronic dance music from his peers, critics, media and most importantly his fans is great and his productions are supported by some top dogs in the industry.Umek recent productions include highly acclaimed club releases such as Overtake & Command, Ricochet Effect, Another Matter Entirely and Faithful Nights, but it were MTV supported hit singles Posing as Me and Carbon Occasions that stirred the most media attention and crossed over to the daily radio stations. Umek’s releases were lately included on the premiere club compilations mixed by artists such as Sander Kleinenberg, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, John Digweed, M.I.K.E. or Carl Cox. He was amongst the headliners of esteemed summer music festivals such as Primavera, Monegros or Dance Valley and he conquered the South America on the joint tour with Valentino Kanzyani and Marko Nastić once more. And this was only the introduction in the Umek’s year 2008, when he plans to finally present long expected new artist album and his own live band.Special Thanks to Marjan,Matthew, Iris & Uros1 Pueblo - Wehbba Remix Sinisa Tamamovic 2 dyno - amara 16 bit 3 Softie - Original Mix Reset Robot 4 The Cello Track (Namito Cello Kebab Remix) Twotrups 5 Xylofrenic - Original Mix Per Hammar 6 Payser - Uto Karem Remix Alan Fitzpatrick 7 Bigger Is Better - Original Mi Charles Gudagafva 8 This Summer - Original Mix Gideon 9 Black Friday - Julian Jeweil M Commuter 10 Guacamoli - D-Unity's White De Olivier Giacomotto 11 Disconnect - Original Mix Enton Mushi 12 Organised Kaos - Original Mix Miniminds 13 Umek vs lukic test 14 Liftoff - Virgil Enzinger Remi Brian Sanhaji 15 Work It - Fergie Remix Christian Smith, John Selway 16 Open Wide And Say - Original M Blain Austin 17 Error - Original Mix Julian Jeweil 18 SVALB02B - A - SKYLARK - KRAKATOA_320 19 X Alarm - Original Mix DJ Micky Da Funk, Costantino N 20 Take Control - Rpo Part 1 Mix RPO 21 Stanger (To Stability) - Len F Dustin Zahn

Rod B. & Alvaro Garfunk bring you the Miami Underground MovementWhile many people may claim to know Chris’ sound, with their focus on continually labeling him one thing or another, Chris is equally as focused on his efforts to push back the musical boundaries. It is testament to the man that he continues to develop his sound and musical direction, after all, as the man says himself “I just like to play good underground music, I don’t limit myself.”It is artists such as Chris Fortier who are inextricably linked to the underground dance music scene that are the genuinely pushing the sound forward. Chris’ determination to continue to push the envelope can be seen in all aspects of his career. Proof of this can be found on his recent triple CD compilation Balance and his recent solo production under the 40oz moniker and his stellar debut artist album As Long As The Moment Exits. The Balance CD genuinely offers something exciting and underground to the current stale compilation market. Boasting tracks from across the musical spectrum like David Gilmore Girls, Global Communication and Floppy Sounds through to Slam, Matthew Jonson, Rabbit in the Moon and Bent. It is little wonder the CD was name checked for compilation of the year by numerous international press publications.Under his 40oz production guise Chris has released the several EPs that musically could fit comfortably on labels such as Cocoon, Kompakt or Get Physical. Further remixes of Alexi Delano, Joshua Collins, Lee Burridge, Freaky Chakra and John Selway show Chris’ genre defying sound at it’s underground best. Taking this a step further in 2007, his debut artist album was released to countless plaudits and impeccable praise. Not satisfied with status quo, look for the boundaries to continue to be pressed and pushed with each coming musical excursion. With a DJ career spanning 15 plus years, he has continually been a crowd favourite, confirmed by his very first residency at the legendary “Aahz” in Orlando through to more recent residencies at The Cross in London and at Twilo in New York. Since a debut European tour in 1997, Chris has gone on to consistently tour the globe behind numerous singles, remixes and no less than 9 mix albums. You can catch him as easily in Tokyo as in Buenos Aires and all points in between on any given weekend. To those that know Fortier’s history, they know to expect plenty more to come, for those that are just getting initiated, Welcome!About Fade Records:Fade Records was created out of necessity in 1993. At the helm is American DJ Chris Fortier. Chris and studio partner, Neil Kolo, needed an outlet to release the tracks they were producing together. With not many options in the States, it seemed obvious to start a label and create the opportunities themselves. The first release was in 1994 called "...For All the People". This track gave them a voice and platform for the future productions. The next three tracks, "All I Got", "Separation" and "So Good" were more highly praised and received heavy support from the biggest DJs out there, including Sasha, John Digweed and Dave Seaman. Equal support came from the USA from Kimball Collins, DJ Icey and John Debo as well as the brand new Mixmag USA (which eventually would be known as Mixer). This great support put the duo on the map and started every label in the UK demanding their talents for remix duties. After several years of building their profile through remixes and the odd single, Chris wanted to re-launch the label in the hopes to help discover and cultivate new talent from America. Steve Porter was the man for this job as Chris discovered him at age 17. With the productions of Steve Porter and others like Derek Howell, Royal Sapien, Funk Harmony Park & Tonepushers, the label is as strong as ever and having great success worldwide. www.faderecords.comSpecial Thanks to Mr Chris Fortier.
Recorded live at the John Selway event held at Melbourne's club Ffour on Valentines day 2009. Playing warm up to John Selway, Sam McEwin starts with deep, brooding house and minimal techno which steadily builds towards a harder and more dancefloor orianted groove.
