For this episode, Clare shares what it is about Turks and Caicos that makes it so special. She shares details of the best beaches, where to see dolphins, whales, and sea turtles, take a glass bottom boat tour, go snorkelling, kayaking, fishing and much more. As well as explaining the most affordable and convenient ways to see the islands and where to find the best food. KEY TAKEAWAYS Turks and Caicos is made up of about 40 islands so there is plenty to see and do there. Only 8 of the islands are inhabited. The main islands form two distinct groups. Turks has 2 inhabited islands – Gran Turk and Salt Cay, the remaining 6 make up the Caicos island group. All of the beaches are open to the public, including those that are next to hotels and private villas. Mini car taxi services enable you to share the cost of travel with others. If you want to see whales visit between January and April and go to either Gran Turks or Salt Cay. Head to Half Moon Bay to see iguanas. The Ritz Carlton cocktail bar is a great place to see the sunset. If you are very lucky you can experience 22- and 46-degrees sun halos while staying on the islands. BEST MOMENTS “One of the privileges I think of living in a new country is its proximity to other places and taking advantage of seeing those places.” “Provo is for me, the epitome of simplicity, elegance and exclusivity across all of Turks and Caicos.” “Grace Bay Beach is probably one of the most splendid beaches in the world.” “Turks and Caicos is the only country to have a commercial conch farm.” EPISODE RESOURCES 22 and 46 degrees sun halo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4e3tx2nI-E Tribe restaurant - https://www.tribe-tci.com Island Scoop - https://islandscoop.tc Ritz Carlton Cocktails - https://www.ritzcarlton.com/content/dam/marriott-digital/rz/emea/hws/a/alarz/en_us/document/assets/beverages.pdf Graceway Gourmet supermarket - https://www.gracewaysupermarkets.com/graceway-gourmet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turks_and_Caicos_Islands https://www.forbes.com/sites/johannaread/2022/04/18/this-beach-keeps-winning-worlds-best-beach-awards https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g147395-Activities-c61-t52-Turks_and_Caicos.html https://www.visittci.com/providenciales/about ABOUT THE HOST: Clare Kay is a seasoned global traveller and professional with a rich background in international sales, customer service, and personal development.
