At one point in the mid-80s, two light based combat gun games hit the market, Lazer Tag and Photon. I wanted Lazer Tag and would eventually get one, but the first set I got was Photon. Which my grandmother got me as a very thoughtful Christmas Gift. In the episode I start by talking about how poorly I received the gift, but to my grandmother's credit, she kept it in mind. Many months later she would surprise me with a visit to a Photon arena in Wildwood, NJ. It was AMAZING. While I might have still been interested in Lazer Tag, I was suddenly proud to have a Photon set. After the story I move onto Photon itself. I talk about the arenas, the home guns, the toys, the TV show, video game and much more. Photon had a lot going for it, but the toy business is rough. If you don't catch on completely, its hard to become a multi-year hit. Despite the arenas and the TV show, Photon just couldn't make the leaps. Still for those of us who owned a set or got to visit and area, it was very memorable. The light shines!

We took to heart the insight we gained from our time with comedian, Sean Hancock. He challenged us to think outside the box when relating to our kids. Using his knowledge of the principles of improv, he shared tangible ways we can create connection rather than building up walls. Today, on a Home That Heals we share how our implimentation of the "Yes, And" improv principle is working and how we've tailored it to our family and our kids. Pew! Pew! Lazer Tag has always been a fun way to express our aggressive nature in a safe, futuristic way. From fun centers like Photon to backyard competitions on warm summer nights, the futuristic toy led us into the 21st century to prepare us for any zombie apocalypse that we may be facing. Lazer Tag was Pho-tons of fun! It was a futuristic way to play cowboys. We got to run around and shoot lasers at each other in places like Photon. Jay and Shua remember the fun of running around in the dark getting zapped. Plus, news, cereal, jokes and more. TechnoRetro News RIP Screech. Dustin Diamond passes away at age 44 Will George Clooney be the new Buck Rogers? Magazine Rack The February 1981 issue of Starlog Magazine features David Cronenberg’s Scanners. Plus, news about the Space Shuttle’s first launch, George Takei in politics, and a new book called Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Why didn’t we get our annual sequels to Christmas in the Stars? And some great looks at movies of the time. TechnoRetro Arcade Did you ever go to Photon, The Ultimate Game on Planet Earth? It was a popular, albeit brief, facility where you could go play Lazer Tag without having to furnish your own batteries. Jay recalls his Saturday nights with his buddies, and even still has his Photon card. Toys in the Attic If you weren’t lucky enough to have a Photon, maybe you had your own Lazer Tag game to play with your friends in the neighborhood. This Worlds of Wonder toy was very popular until some unfortunate accidents. It even spawned a cartoon, puzzles, and a Commodore 64 game.

You, who are about to listen... We Salute You! Welcome friends to the first title-centric series here at the Chris and Reggie Channel as Chris (@acecomics) and... Chris (@Charlton_Hero) take you on a guided tour of Marvel's Earth-1287, a world with an alien invasion situation, and unfortunately for them, a world without super-heroes... that is, until Dr. Kimmo Tuolema devised the Morituri Process. A process, under which superpowers could be granted to certain "lucky" folks... but at rather a high-cost. The individual getting those powers is doomed to burn-out and perish within the next 12 months. In this premiere episode, we meet our initial batch of would-be/might soon-be superheroes, with a particular focus on a young comic book fan, Harold Everson. And, that is "comic book", singular... the poor fella's only ever read the one. Also included, plenty of chatter that is both off-topic and potentially relevant... well, one of those is true for sure! We also ask the tough questions that need answering... what was Bad Ronald's deal, anyway? Why are Smarties called Rockets in Canada? Did Gumby and Pokey ever make it to Gum-Dinger Land? Why didn't Lazer Tag come with batteries? Hopefully we'll be able to figure out at least one, and that one will be... One to Grow On.
