Determined to make a contribution and serve up some joy and laughter during the Covid 19 pandemic, Chelsea ’s touring the country this year in her latest stand up, aptly titled “Evolution” which you can catch on HBO Max. Tamara had the unique privilege of sitting down with our May cover star during a really interesting time in her life, after a tumultuous year, and after she’s spent recent years really working on herself and yes, Evolving, emotionally. She’s shifted priorities, and ways of thinking and living, becoming focused on contributing and connecting. She’s shed a little anger, telling us she’s much more self aware, and proud of herself and all the decisions she’s making these days. Chelsea’s vision is ever-expanding, and why we titled her cover story “Sight Seeker”. On this podcast, get to know Chelsea Handler, the brilliant creative, a person who constantly has her eye on the prize…and that prize is learning, seeking, and educating. Always one to immerse herself in a topic or a subject, we discuss her next big ideas and what we can expect from her future rantings. We talk about her intense creative process and how it’s important to let her brain relax, allowing it to be a receptacle for new, unique ideas. Of course we discuss life pre-evolution, and we discuss Trump. Yes, we talk cannabis. We talk a lot about Chelsea the host and interviewer, and her return to the talk show medium. We talk boyfriends and female friendships, kids (never for her) and marriage (yes, maybe). We got into pandemic peeves and masking, and how she’s kept an eye on her mental health this year. This is an intimate look into the life of one of our favorite artists. When we talk about what she’s been watching and wearing, Chelsea is hilarious. Discover + shop here: 1. Arrrright my friends - it's time to get super juicy on this shiz. I've had a lot of amazing feedback from women on a journey to figure out who the F their truly are and to "go their own way"... but i've also had some incredible conversations about what holds us back from these things. And today I want to dive into this fear that if we do the work, that we could become a different person and that this could mean the end of our current relationship. You are not alone babes, I have thought and experienced this myself and I want to share in this episode the three biggest fears or roadblocks that i've experiences with my husband when it comes to me fuguring out who I am. Firstly there's the fear of outgrowing the person that were with. This is a biggie! Secondly I chat about the fear of being held back by our partner once we have had realisations about what kind of life we want to live and feel confident in our dreams. And lastly there's the frustration/judgement trap. The all to common projection of wherever we are on this journey onto our loved ones and expecting them to be on our level. Here are the deets for this Month's Bookclub Book that I read a bit from. IT IS AMAZING! https://www.audible.com.au/pd/Life-Will-Be-the-Death-of-Me-Audiobook/0525638741 If you loved the quote from Dr Joe Dispenza then check out his website https://drjoedispenza.com/ or his instagram @drjoedispenza

If you've read one of Chelsea Handler's many bestselling books — Are You there Vodka, It's Me, Chelsea, or My Horizontal Life, or Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me — or seen her irreverent take on talk show hosting on shows like Chelsea Lately, Netflix's Chelsea, or on her recent documentary series Chelsea Does — you might think you know what you're getting with comedian and cultural commentator Chelsea Handler. Boundary-smashing, can-she-say-that jokes, a withering and unapologetic focus on the illusions around which we construct our lives, and a commitment to deflating pretension wherever she finds it. But in her new book Life Will Be the Death of Me... and You Too!, Handler shatters expectations again, with a memoir touched off by a sense of emotional crisis that leads to a journey of self-discovery, and a reconsideration of everything she thought she knew about herself and how to live her life. In it, Handler talks openly about the trauma of losing a beloved family member as a child, her long struggles with intimacy, and her newfound commitment to empathy and connecting to the present. And if you're wondering, the jokes are still there. We spoke with Chelsea Handler the other day by phone, and asked her to talk about what it was like trying to get this journey chronicled on the page.
Chelsea Handler credits President Donald Trump with triggering her “big catharsis” this past year, she explains to Salon’s D. Watkins on “Salon Talks.” Handler’s new memoir “Life Will Be the Death of Me,” her sixth book, offers both hilarious and vulnerable reflections on her Trump-activated midlife crisis. Following Trump’s inauguration, the comedian embarked on a year-old commitment to therapy. She asked herself, “What am I doing? I'm in my 40s. What is my identity? How tied to fame am I? Is this the most important thing? Is this the only thing I'm gonna be known for is having a television show?” Handler details how a year of tuning in awoke the underlying traumas in her life, including losing her older brother Chet tragically during childhood. “I don't want everybody to go through life the way that I did from nine to 40, completely blocking out any sort of trauma,” Handler said. “I didn't wanna address it, I didn't wanna talk about it. That's not the way you should go through life, so I think I finally had something that I could share that I thought would be important.” --- About “Salon Talks” Hosted by Salon journalists, “Salon Talks” episodes offer a fresh take on the long-form interview format, and a much-needed break from the partisan political talking heads that have come to dominate the genre. “Salon Talks” is a destination for information through conversation. Viewers can expect discussions with A-list actors, artists, authors, thinkers, and newsmakers as we explore the full range of the human condition. "I think the thing that hits me the most is: I didn't think about, you know, how strong I came across for so long. I just thought there's all these other sides of me that everybody must automatically know about...But there was only one side of me I was showing on like say, Chelsea Lately, my old old TV show, and I realize how one dimensional that was...So it's nice to take into account how I come across and to be softer and to shut up and not to insert myself every time there's an opportunity. So for me, I need to always dial it down...I've made a career out of dialing it up...So I would like to get real, you know, instead of that bluster...I want to get real and have conversations like this, and yeah, I feel good about it." -Chelsea Handler Chelsea Handler is one funny lady. Today on the show we had Chelsea Handler stop by for the second time around and this time she spoke about her new book " Life Will Be the Death of Me", doing drugs, and more. Also you know what Uncle Charla always says the craziest people are from the Bronx and all of Florida, and for his "Donkey of the Day" he gave it to a Bronx man that that strangled his girlfriend because he was insecure. Moreover, after Nipsey's Memorial we thought it was only right to pay respect to the great Nipsey Hussle by opening up the phone lines for listeners to express their grief.
