I met with Sharon recently at the Vancouver, Canada, church summer camp. We got talking about the miraculous healings that she's had in her life, how she came to know the real God after emigrating to Canada from the Philippines, how God healed her and protected her from an incurable heart condition, tumours and the miraculous birth of her children. She also discusses how, when you are a person who loves caring for others, it can be particularly challenging when you need to be cared for, even by God. God's power isn't just talked about in a book; it's alive in Sharon's life today. Enjoy. This profound truth is what allows us to not wallow in our failure, but to get up and keep moving forward in obedience. Not because we have to earn back His favor, but because we already have it through Jesus Christ. We obey because we love Him. And this obedience produces a fruit-bearing assurance. We're not just safe; we're changed and even our lives bear evidence of this transformation.
We were adding onto our little house, and we were getting some help from good old Chuck. He's been a part of adding to our house; actually, he did most of the work. A wonderful Christian brother, skilled builder and handyman. He's like an everyday genius...which I am not. Now the days were pretty long and we'd be leaving the house earlier than Chuck got there and we'd return home after dark. So, I didn't get to see him much. But every day that front porch was noticeably farther along than it was when we left that morning. I actually did get to talk to Chuck on the phone one day, and I told him, in a way, he reminded me of the Lord. He was interested in how that happened. I said, "Well, I don't actually see him, but I see the difference he's made!" I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Living Proof of a Living Savior." There was a song years ago that said, "People need the Lord." Well, that's people you're around all the time. But they can't physically see Him, of course. They can't realize how real, how loving, and how powerful He is by seeing Him in person. But God's plan for introducing Himself to them is that, much like our friend's building work, they see the difference God makes in you. In 1 Peter 2:12, our word for today from the Word of God, Peter says, "Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they may accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God..." Here are people who may even be hostile toward you and toward your Lord. But they see such impressive living proof of the Jesus-difference in your everyday life - in what it says here your "good deeds" - that they end up glorifying God! Jesus made this same point in the Sermon on the Mount when He said, "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16). There it is again. They can't see your Lord, but they can see your good deeds that are there because He's in you. And that living proof can turn them to Him. Especially in a world that's more skeptical than ever of religious pitches, religious systems, or religious pitchmen. Notice, God doesn't say they'll be impressed with your arguments or your persuasive words. No, it's going to be your persuasive life. The random acts of kindness, the words of encouragement, your temper under control, the cleaned up mouth, the way you treat and talk about your mate, or your children, or your parents, your unselfishness, or the way you just put others ahead of yourself. One clarification: You can't just show them the Jesus-difference and that alone. You do have to tell them Who is making the difference! They can watch you for the next 50 years and they won't say, "Oh, you know, Joe is such a nice guy, I'll bet Jesus died on the cross for my sins." They're not going to figure that out. You have to tell them! So, the business of taking people to heaven with you is actually kind of like first grade...show and tell. That's why Peter says, right before his statement about them seeing your good deeds, that you are "belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness and into His wonderful light." They need to see it, but then you need to tell them. They'll never guess Jesus died on the cross for them unless you tell them. Our friend is a carpenter that I may not actually see, but I could see each day the difference he was making. You belong to a carpenter named Jesus, and whether or not the people around you will ever know Him may depend on whether or not they can see in you the difference that Jesus makes!

In this powerful episode of You Turn, Dr. Judy Rosenberg explores how our deeply rooted core beliefs—especially the negative ones formed in childhood—can unconsciously shape our entire lives. Why do we so often become the very reflection of our pain, fear, or unworthiness? Are we unknowingly turning into the “living proof” of what we've been programmed to believe? Dr. Judy breaks down the psychology behind these destructive patterns using her Mind Map® system, guiding listeners through the process of identifying, decoding, and healing from core beliefs that no longer serve us. Through real-life examples and insight-driven discussion, she reveals how to stop reinforcing harmful narratives and start living from a place of empowerment, truth, and emotional freedom. If you've ever wondered why you keep attracting the same toxic relationships, self-sabotaging your success, or battling inner shame—this episode will help you finally connect the dots and take back your power.

Click Here to ask your book writing and publishing questions! In this episode, I sit down with Tiffany Graham Charkosky to talk about her forthcoming memoir, Living Proof (October 21, Little A), a book written and shaped over years of writing and rewriting. At just 11 years old, Tiffany lost her mother. For decades, she believed it was an unexplainable tragedy, until a DNA test unearthed information that changed everything. That discovery didn't just reshape her understanding of her mother's death; it also made her question what she might unknowingly pass on to her own children.INSIDE THE EPISODEThe emotional (and editorial) decision-making around what belongs in a bookHow long it took for her story to find its true shape (and why)The surprising speed of her publishing deal once it all came togetherHow do we process loss as kids versus adults? And what happens when new information forces us to reinterpret our past?Tiffany's story is as deeply personal as it is universally relatable.
The moment Tiffany Graham Charkosky received the phone call that changed everything, she wasn't a child anymore—but suddenly, her childhood grief came rushing back. In this poignant episode of A Fresh Story, Tiffany sits down with Olivia Howell to share the emotional landscape behind her debut memoir, Living Proof: How Love Defied Genetic Legacy. What began as an unanswered ache—the loss of her mother to colon cancer at age 11—became a search for meaning, identity, and a way forward through the lens of genetic testing. Tiffany's story is not just about DNA; it's about motherhood, memory, and making peace with a future you didn't ask for.As she recounts her journey through grief, motherhood, and writing, Tiffany offers listeners a deeply honest glimpse into what it means to live with inherited trauma—and choose love anyway. With Olivia, she explores how writing can serve as both mirror and medicine, and why some stories take a decade to write. The episode moves through the harrowing reality of testing positive for a genetic mutation, the fierce desire to protect her children from the loss she experienced, and the quiet, persistent act of becoming the parent she never had. This conversation isn't a how-to. It's a heart-to-heart. It's for anyone who has lost a parent too soon, who has faced the weight of legacy, or who is trying to mother without a map. Tiffany's words offer no perfect answers—but they are steady hands reaching out across time and loss. Whether you're a writer, a daughter, a parent, or someone who has simply loved and lost, this story will stay with you.Buy the book here: https://amzn.to/4eYGyPv
Stories around substance use disorder (SUD) have too often been framed around crisis and moral failing. But SUD is a health condition—no different from heart disease or cancer—and it deserves public response rooted in care, not stigma. San Francisco is working to change that narrative. Through evidence-based treatment, innovative telehealth programs, and groundbreaking stigma-reduction campaigns like Living Proof, the city is reimagining recovery and how public health can meet people where they are. Dr. Jeffrey Hom, Medical Officer for Science and Policy in San Francisco's Department of Public Health Substance Use Services joins us to discuss how storytelling can shift public perception, and accessible services can guide people onto paths of recovery. The conversation is a reminder that recovery becomes possible when health systems lead with both science and empathy. Dr. Jeffrey Hom is the San Francisco Department of Public Health's Substance Use Services Medical Officer for Science and Policy. He previously served as medical director for the City of Philadelphia's Division of Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction and has lectured for Jefferson Health and the University of Pennsylvania. On May 30th 2024 seminar goers at Princeton University witnessed a thrilling moment. The mathematician Zhouli Xu of the University of California, LA, announced that, together with colleagues he had sorted out the 126th dimension. Not in general, but in regards to a problem that has taunted mathematicians since the 1960s. The problem involves strange shapes and is called the Kervaire invariant problem, after the mathematician Michel Kervaire. In this episode of Maths on the Move Zhouli takes us on a trip into higher dimensions, giving us a gist of what this long-standing problem is all about and retracing some of the long, and sometimes arduous, journey towards a proof. We met Zhouli when he visited our neighbours at the Isaac Newton institute for Mathematical Sciences (INI) in Cambridge to take part in a research programme called Equivariant homotopy theory in Context. What if your faith is meant to shape not just what you believe, but who you become? In this sermon, Clay unpacks Titus 2 to explore how embracing sound doctrine anchors our hearts in Christ, transforms our character, and empowers us to live with integrity in a world desperate for hope.
What if your life's fruit could tell a story of transformation? Pastor Trevor challenges us to choose between yielding to the flesh or the Spirit, revealing that an intimate connection with the Holy Spirit produces love, joy, and peace, empowering us to live as authentic witnesses of Christ's power.

In this podcast we hope to give you some interesting information. This information is encoded in terms of 0s and 1s – the classical bits in your computer or phone. But what if instead we were using a quantum computer? Then we'd be dealing with quantum bits, or qubits, opening up exciting new possibilities. And quantum information theory is the area of mathematics that explores how we can do that. Adina Goldberg was one of the participants at a recent research programme in this area at the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences (INI). In this episode of Living proof, our podcast produced in collaboration with the INI, we speak to Adina about her work and how her intriguing motto – "the meaning is in the arrows" – applies to her research, her career path, and the way she looks at life. You can find out more about quantum information in this short introduction and delve into the details of information theory in this collection of content. Make sure you visit Adina's website to find out more about her work and her fascinating career. Since we recorded this podcast Adina has finished her PhD – congratulations Dr Goldberg! In this episode, Danny and Emily take a hard look at the growing trend of so-called "natural" and "non-addictive" alternatives to real recovery and healing — think microdosing mushrooms, ketamine therapy, kratom, psychedelics, and more. These substances are marketed as healing tools for trauma, anxiety, and addiction. They're often labeled as safe, non-habit-forming, and even therapeutic — but the truth is, they're becoming modern-day counterfeits for true healing and long term recovery. Many people turn to these as replacements for actual treatment, unknowingly trading one false solution for another. Sarah has also written a fascinating book, called Once upon a time: The wondrous connections between mathematics and literature, and she gave a talk at this year's Cambridge Festival, with the intriguing title Life in Lilliput – The Mathematics of Fictional Realms. The talk was the contribution to the Festival of the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences (INI). Sarah also participates in the Modern History of Mathematics research programme that is currently taking place at the INI. In this episode of Living proof, produced in collaboration with the INI, Sarah tells us about the many things she has done and how they all fit together, and gives some advice for budding mathematicians of all ages: keep pursuing all the things you love doing, and one day it may turn out that they all fit together. Every now and again, and more often than you'd think, the work of mathematics overlaps with the world of theatre and film. This happened again recently when the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences (INI) organised a staging of the play Diving into math with Emmy Noether. Noether was a pure mathematician whose results made waves far beyond her field. Albert Einstein called her a "creative mathematical genius". The play is produced by Portrait Theater Vienna in co-operation with Freie Universität Berlin, directed by Sandra Schueddekopf, and features Anita Zieher as Emmy Noether. It was put on as part of the Modern History of Mathematics research programme that is currently taking place at the INI and the Inclusivity in the Mathematical Sciences workshop that was organised by the Newton Gateway to Mathematics in March 2025. In this episode of Maths on the move we talk to historian of mathematics David E. Rowe, who provided scientific advice for the play, about the life and work of Emmy Noether, and about what it's like putting mathematics on stage. God is, indeed, a healing God. His power is not confined by our past or by our present circumstances; instead, it invites all who are broken to come forth, seek His mercy, and experience restoration. Healing is not merely a physical recovery but a spiritual rebirth that reawakens hope and courage. When despair had taken root, each encountered the life-changing power of divine compassion—a power that transcends human limitations and speaks directly to the heart of our deepest needs. This transformation serves as a reminder that God's grace reaches into every aspect of our lives, healing wounds that medicine cannot mend and bringing light into the darkest of moments. The film “I Am Living Proof” weaves together the miraculous testimonies of three individuals whose lives were transformed by divine intervention. Two of these individuals, initially non-Christians, were at the brink of suicide—one having attempted it and the other considering assisted suicide due to a debilitating physical condition—while the third, a young woman suffering from a severe spinal ailment, found new life through healing. Their stories, marked by despair turned to hope, serve as compelling evidence of God's power and the possibility of healing beyond human limitations. Kathy and Mario urge listeners to overcome despair, engage in fervent prayer for themselves and others, and view the film as a transformative invitation—a reminder that through faith, personal renewal, and collective spiritual warfare, miraculous healing can break through even the darkest circumstances.
