With the K League returning this weekend, so does The K League United Podcast as Ryan Walters, Matthew Binns, Michael Redmond and Jung Muyeol sit down to start the fifth season with a two-part preview episode. In part one Ryan, Matthew and Michael head to where the party never stops, the K League 2. The trio give their thoughts on all eleven K League 2 sides, including the newly added Gimpo FC, evaluating their transfer business and difference makers. All three then also give their final table predictions with some shocking decisions along the way.
Ryan Walters, Matthew Binns and Michael Redmond host a star studded evening handing out the awards for the top performers of the 2021 season! The party starts where it always does in K League 2 where the three go over the individual award winners as decided by you, the fans! A strong showing for FC Anyang doesn't deter from Ryan and Michael fitting in more than a few Jeonnam and Seoul E-Land references throughout. Attention turns to the top flight in the third and fourth segments where the Daegu fans came out in numbers to support their players. Did they always get it right? The three hosts discuss that, their thoughts on the season as a whole, and much more on the latest edition of the K League United Podcast!
Stepping in for an absent Ryan Walter, Matthew Binns hosts alongside Michael Redmond in this week's episode of the K League United Podcast. The pair kick things off with a quick look at the headlines in Korea football before moving on to take a look at the recent ongoings in K League 2. After the interval, Matthew and Michael move onto the Korean top tier and are even paid a brief visit by Peter Hampshire who gives us the latest from Gwangju including their recent 3-0 forfeit and the latest on the whereabouts of Jonathan. Finally, the pair head into the Eulji Lewis Mailbag to talk about Park Ji-soo's situation post-military service, Michael's thoughts on Seoul E-Land manager Chung Jong-yong and a curiosity about what would happen to some of the naturalised players at Chinese Super League giant Guangzhou FC after the club recently transfer listed a number of their players due to financial difficulties. All this and more on The K League United Podcast.
Ryan Walters and Michael Redmond are back for another daytime TV edition of the pod with a K League 2 special! In the opening segment they take a look back on all four matches in Round 12, and discuss Jeonnam's rise back to first place in the division. The second segment takes a wider view of the season with the disappoints starts for Bucheon and Gimcheon, and the pleasant (for some) surprises of FC Anyang and Jeonnam challenging for the title. Lastly, the Eulji Lewis Mailbag has questions about team's inability to stay in the top spot, attendances, and why K2 continues to have Monday night football. All that and more in this edition of the K League United Podcast!
Ryan Walters, Matthew Binns, and Michael Redmond run the rule over the top two divisions as the calendar ticks over to May. In the first segment, the three dive into the wild world of K League 2 where FC Anyang remain at the top and pre-season favourites Gimcheon Sangmu remain outside a playoff position. They also discuss Jeju United's strong return to the top flight and how they're getting results. The second segment sees FC Seoul under the microscope again to assess whether or not this may be their dreaded 2018 season all over again. Paul Neat then joins to chat with Dajeon Hana Citizen midfielder Edinho about his time in Korea and the club's expectations this season. The show rolls on with the third segment looking at Suwon FC's massive overhaul this winter and it's... less than desirable results. Finally, youth players take centre stage not just because of the early U22 substitutions, but also because some youngsters have made a name for themselves quite early on in 2021. Lastly, the Eulji Lewis Mailbag sees questions ranging from roster rules to potential transfers this summer and everything in between. All that and more in this edition of the K League United Podcast!
Ryan Walters, Peter Hampshire, and Michael Redmond are back once again to run the rule over the first two divisions of Korean football. The three briefly take a look at South Korea's draw in the summer olympics and assess whether or not it was as good as some made it out to be. They then move on to the party that is K League two where there were upsets a plenty and the table got even tighter from first to eighth place. Box2Box Indonesia's Aun Rahman joins for the second segment to discuss all things Asnawi Mangkualam, including his transition to a more attacking role, his spot in the national team, and whether or not we may see more Indonesian players making the move to Korea this summer. Peter and Michael rejoin for the third segment to discuss the dreadfully low scoring weekend in K1 and why teams may be failing to find the back of the net right now. Lastly, an absolutely bursting Eulji Lewis Mailbag has questions on Ulsan's poor form, Bucheon's chances of turning things around, Vietnamese players in K League, and much more. All that and more in this edition of the K League United Podcast!

After watching Pohang crush Ulsan in the post-split East Coast Derby for the second straight year, host Ryan Walters turns to Dan Croydon to make sense of it. The two have a rather lively back and forth about Kim Do-hoon's abilities as a manager while Matthew Binns tries to mitigate and keep the Jeonbuk-fan smirks to a minimum. The three also discuss the Dave Bulthuis and Bjørn Johnsen red cards that will see both miss the last two matches of the season. Whether or not this is something they can build on for ACL is another story according to Matthew. They also discuss Incheon's Great Escape chances, Seongnam's tough schedule, and Busan's outlook heading into the final weeks. Michael Redmond joins for the third segment to talk about the wild world that is K League 2. Jeju and Suwon remain locked in a heated battle for automatic promotion while Ryan's Jeonnam Dragon's and Michael's Seoul E-Land hold down third and fourth for the final playoff spots. They discuss whether or not the teams can hold on and what to expect in the few remaining fixtures. A week after putting K1 under the microscope, Ryan Walters, Matthew Binns, and Michael Redmond turn their attention to K League 2 after 11 Rounds. They each pick a team and a player that has impressed in the first few months, with leaders Suwon FC understandably getting a lot of praise. Paul Neat joins once again in the second segment to look at the U22 rule in the second division. He and Matthew discuss the trend of subbing youth players off before half-time, and go team by team once more going over who has and hasn't had a good showing thus far. They also give a clarification on youth wages. Ryan, and Michael return for the third segment to break down what's gone wrong with the underperforming sides in the second division. Pre-season promotion hopefuls Gyeongnam FC get a fair few mentions, but given the ever-changing nature of the second division, few others seemed to feel "earned." Lastly, the Eulji Lewis Mailbag sees questions ranging from Seoul E-Land's promotion chances this and next year, what's gone wrong at Daejeon, and a discussion on just how good An Byong-jun is this season. All that and more in this edition of the K League United Podcast.

Greetings, comics enthusastniks! In this episode, urban poets Chris (@AceComics) and Reggie (@reggiereggie) check out the rhythms and meter of truth when they read Michael Redmond and Junko Hosizawa's Street Poet Ray #1, published by Marvel Comics in 1990! After revealing what scant biographical information could be found on the creators, the folksy duo read every "rap-haiku" in the issue, and talk about the subjects therein. Then, they give a brief history of the Beat Generation, their influences and outcomes--one of which would be this very comic book! Also, Craig explains how to get a free copy of his book "Half a Glass: The Realist's Guide" when you attend his session (Starting at 9:15am).
