To celebrate 20 years since My Chemical Romance hit the mainstream with their masterpiece album, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, Adam and Mike listen to the album in full and talk about this album's impact on their lives and on their music tastes. As we await whatever comes next from this band going into the future, we reflect on their place in the rising boom on the emo scene back in the 00s and we even ponder if there'll be similar genre explosion with a band or an artist leading the way just like MCR did way back when. We hope you enjoy our track-by-track review/celebration of one of our all-time favorite albums ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge' by My Chemical Romance Also on the episode, we share our thoughts on albums from artists like Stand Atlantic, Mothica, Palaye Royale, Yours Truly, and That Woman. #MyChemicalRomance #ThreeCheersForSweetRevenge _______________________________________ Find us on social media: https://discord.gg/2jv87Wypvw https://www.twitter.com/TheSkinnyPod mail to:theskinnywithmikeandadam@gmail.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/theskinnywithmikeandadam/support

Sebastian, Remington, and Emerson from Palaye Royale were nice enough to stop by the station before their show earlier this week. After playing three songs for the staff, they hopped into the studio with me to talk about the band. I had seen on X that Remington said that Songs For Sadness was very personal to him. He spoke about how his mother's illness has really affected each of them, who are brothers. Being on the road, and leaving their mother is always hard. This was a very touching part of the interview. I wish nothing but the best for "Mama Royale". The guys talked about the dichotomy of how Palaye Royale writes songs. Sebastian said Remington brings a lot to the lyrics, Emerson is good on the piano even though he's the drummer, and each of them bring something different. "We had eighty songs - for the upcoming album - so we narrowed them down to ten" Remington told me. He also said "If there's not a deadline, I will tinker with it" when talking about recording songs. They also talked about the success they've found overseas. Over here in the States, they've opened for so many bands but they're looking to do a headlining tour of their own. As a matter of fact, they're playing Wembley Arena in November. Sebastian said Gene Simmons gave them some great advice early on, which they still use to this day. The band actually started out on the Disney channel. They talked about the difference between playing Disney shows, and then going off on their own for shows. They went from big crowds to playing to empty rooms. I was shocked to hear that the guys were hockey players, as their family has roots in Canada. I didn't think we'd be talking about that during this interview!
S7E14 went out live on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 on 4 April 2024. This week's Twisted Twins featured tracks called ‘Take It Off'. The Donnas and Suicide Bombers did the honours. Immortals, a track over 7 minutes showcasing an artist's brilliance, came off the Born to Run album. It is a track called ‘Jungleland'. Springsteen is at his finest on this groundbreaking album but it's the late Clarens Clemons' sax solo that really makes it special. And the lyric! Never forget the lyrics when it comes to The Boss. The Fake Feud featured Pete Townshend and ACDC. The new TSORR Newsletter # 3 is out, check out the website if you want to watch it or join the mailing list. The Diabolical Challenge looked at four bands beginning with the letter ‘M'. The idea is that we have 4 albums, and you can only pick one. This week we had: Nirvana – NevermindNight Ranger – Midnight MadnessNazareth – No mean CityNeal Young – Freedom The trick is to think about the whole album not just the track, it's easy to forget that the whole of Nevermind is not Smells Like Teen Spirit
This week, Steve picked two big sets of songs about doctors. Artists you will hear are: Bloc Party, Tame Impala, Yard Act, Kiss, The Damned, Palaye Royale, Simple Minds, Jordan Rakei, The Black Keys, Devo, Split Enz, Ray Charles, Springhouse, The Replacements and The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. S7E8 went out live on Rebel Rock radio at 19h00 on 22 Feb 2024. It was touch and go with a fiber failure an hour before the show, big well done to the guys at Vodacom Fibre for sorting it out in time. We started with a bit of ACDC and ‘Overdose' off the Let There Be Rock album and just kept on building from there. This week's Immortals feature – a track over 7 min that showcases what an artist is all about was the original version of Am I Evil by Diamond Head. You may only know the Metallica version and they have indeed made it famous, but it all started here. I went into the story in a bit of detail because it is one of the best examples of a win–win ever. Everyone involved scored because of this track and it really is iconic. The Diabolical challenge this week looked at four bands beginning with the letter ‘G'. The idea is that we have 4 albums, and you can only pick one. This week we had: Halestorm – American BoysHinder – Homecoming QueenHell Yeah – Hell YeahHanoi Rocks – Two Steps From the Move Artists Featured: ACDC, Bullets & Octane, Danko Jones, Mötley Crüe, Desolation Angels, Great White, Foreigner, The Eagles, ZZ Top, Theory of a Deadman, Palaye Royale, Iron Maiden Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Dio, Dire Straits, Jethro Tull, Green Day, Sex Pistols, Thin Lizzy, Black Star Riders, Yngwie Malmsteen, Burning Rain, Diamond Head, Hanoi Rocks, Hell Yeah, Hinder, Halestorm, Saxon, Sakis Tolis, The Rolling stones, Suicide Bombers, Volbeat, Neil Young, Tom Petty. Episode # 207 Logan Tabor of alltheprettythings on their New Single "I Want You Back" and so much more! Wilmington, NC - [July 12,2023] Wilmington-based band alltheprettythings is set to make waves once again with their latest release, "I Want You Back." The eagerly awaited single showcases the band's signature blend of post-hardcore, emo and alternative rock, captivating listeners with its infectious hooks and emotionally charged lyrics. In an exciting development, alltheprettythings also is proud to announce the addition of Will Sowers, the original bassist of EMAROSA, to their lineup! “A very solid, straightforward rock sound with melody and hints of each band members musical past. This is one of Substream's bands to watch this year!” – Jason McMahon (Substream) Following the success of their debut single, "Teenage Lines," which garnered over 134,500 streams and earned placement on 64 Spotify playlists, alltheprettythings has been steadily gaining recognition for their dynamic sound. With "I Want You Back," the band delivers an anthemic track that truly showcases their growth as musicians and songwriters. Lead vocalist Logan Tabor, guitarists Worth Weaver and Tristan Matthew, and drummer Jeremy Bryan demonstrate their exceptional chemistry and musicianship, creating a sound that draws inspiration from both newer emo and hard rock-leaning groups like Palaye Royale, as well as older acts such as 30 Seconds to Mars and Saosin. “The production quality of this project is top tier. Kind of takes me back to the pop punk days, but better.” – Trevor Tyson (Trevor Talks) Adding to the excitement, alltheprettythings is thrilled to welcome Will Sowers as their new bassist. Sowers, a seasoned musician known for his work as the original bassist of EMAROSA, and a touring bassist for CIVIL TWILIGHT brings a wealth of experience and talent to the band. His addition further solidifies alltheprettythings' powerful lineup, as they continue to evolve and push the boundaries of their genre. “I am really excited to join this group of like-minded musicians. I have always wanted to create freely with the only through-line being everything sounding as pretty as possible. Not only is this going to be successful, it is going to be a lot of fun,” says Sowers. "We are incredibly excited to release 'I Want You Back' and to have Will Sowers join us on this journey," says guitarist, Tristan Matthew. "This song represents a new chapter for alltheprettythings, and we can't wait to share it with our fans. We're thrilled to have Will's energy and skill contribute to our sound, and we believe this collaboration will take our music to new heights." “alltheprettythings have made the emo song of the summer.” – Ashley Oken (A Million Emo Thoughts) "I Want You Back" is a testament to alltheprettythings' ability to create emotionally charged music that resonates with audiences. The band's dedication to crafting heartfelt lyrics, memorable melodies, and dynamic instrumentals has gained them a loyal and rapidly growing fanbase. With their combined experience, unique sound, and an ever-expanding musical vision, alltheprettythings is poised to make a significant impact on the alternative rock and post-hardcore scene. They are currently working on their highly anticipated debut album, with more exciting releases and performances on the horizon. On this episode of Headliners, Greg sits down with SINGLE BY SUNDAY to talk about their new single SEVERED TIES (Out 17 February).‘Single By Sunday' are a Pop Rock band from Glasgow. Core band members, Josh Ladds (lead vocals) and Jonny Eakins (lead guitar, backing vocals) are great believers in not being genre specific. "What's the point in having different musical influences and not experimenting with them. We prefer to be genre fluid, so you can hear different influences" - Jonny Eakins. Formed in 2015, they cite early Blink 182, My Chemical Romance, 5 Seconds of Summer and The 1975 as some of their influences.Raucous guitars, vocal melodies, fun and tons of energy are all prerequisite at ‘Single By Sunday' live shows. With a millennial brashness and a swagger all of their own, they pay homage to some of the mid-eighties Pop Punk bands.Having opened the prestigious Scottish Music Awards, they have also headlined the Boston MA ‘First Night' celebrations (at the request of NBC10 Boston) to a staggering 50k+ people. They also played Vans Warp tour in Buffalo NY alongside 3OH!3, Asking Alexandria, Waterparks, Palaye Royale etc.CONNECT WITH SINGLE BY SUNDAYWebsite - Instagram - TikTok - TwitterSUPPORT THIS SHOW

This week, Scott sits with Spin's musical editor, Daniel Kohn to interview the brothers Remington, Sebastian and Emerson of Palaye Royale. They get into their new album, Fever Dream, their sense of fashion, and their current and recent touring life. The group touches base on Remington's mental health, their love of the Libertines, any band beefs, getting banned from the O2 arena, and their amazing friend group from Post Malone to Pussy Riot. Tune in!
Nothing wrong with that...
L.A. rockers Palaye Royale have certainly earned their stripes. After landing in Los Angeles as teenagers, the three brothers that form the nucleus of the band came through the ranks the hard way, starting out playing in basements and dingy dive bars before gradually building their name and brand into something which could compete on the international circuit. Now playing to sold out crowds at some of the worlds biggest music festivals, Palaye Royale have retreated back down the rabbit hole for their recent album Fever Dream, an album widely proclaimed by some as the bands boldest and most visionary body of work yet.Conceived over a twelve month period and written in seclusion from outside influencers and factors, Fever Dream is 13 tracks that see Palaye Royale return to their roots and where it all started.HEAVY caught up with lead vocalist Remington Leith to find out more."We worked really hard on this record," he began. "I think it's a huge step forward for the band, and is definitely our best work so far."We push Leith for more details on the musical direction on Fever Dream, to which he replied."We just wanted to make something that we could be proud of. We didn't make it for anybody or anything besides ourselves. This is the music that we wanted to create and the music that we wanted to listen to. There's so many tracks over five minutes that have beautiful orchestras and breakdowns. There was really no limits on this record for us. It was awesome creating everything that we wanted to create with no pressure or no limits or no-one is telling you no and that was so beautiful because we really got to express ourselves."In the full interview, Remington talks more about the individual songs on the album, working in isolation and how that influenced the finished product, the early days of the band and where they fit in, their early vision and how it has changed, the decision to expand the band in 2017 and how difficult it was bringing in someone outside of the family, their loyal fan base dubbed The Soldiers Of The Royal Council and where they got their name, appearing on a recent episode of Sound & Driven and more.

Big Fat Five: A Podcast Financially Supported by Big Fat Snare Drum
This week's guest Logan Baudean…a New Orleans-raised, now LA-based musician. He can do it all. I don't even remember how I first heard about Logan, but I've been following him for awhile now I was really excited to have him on. He certainly identifies as a drummer, but he's also a sought-after guitarist, bassist and keyboardist and I'm sure the list goes on and on. Recently, he's toured the world as the drummer for Barns Courtney and bassist for Palaye Royale. He's just a cool guy. His perspectives are cool. His hair is cool. You won't be able to see it, but his SHIRT was cool. Anyways, there's a lot of great insight in this one. Truly. I hope you enjoy the 5 influential happenings that shaped Logan into the consistency-working hired guy he is today. Cheers! We chat with Palaye Royale's Remington Leith, Sebastian Danzig and Emerson Barrett as they wrap up their huge UK tour which included a sold out show at London's Roundhouse venue. They show us their new British tattoos and talk playing alongside their hero, The Libertines' Carl Barat, who they plan to write with later this year. Plus, they reflect on their recent tour supporting YUNGBLUD in the US and tell us about their future plans, including upcoming single 'Broken' and new album 'Fever Dream'. Finally, we hear the story behind the writing of 'No Love In LA' and look forward to their hometown performance at When We Were Young Festival later this year.
Not sure what to say about this one, It went out live on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 on 23 Dec 2021. I wasn't in a good space at all, I think that you'll hear that, in the words of Simon & Garfunkel "I am distracted and diffused". I get some mojo back about halfway. Another factor is that 2021 has been a fantastic year for good music and I have been very busy putting together next week's show which will be spectacular. I am looking forward to putting a knife into the heart of 2021 and I have an incredible soundtrack to do just that. This show was very much a jam session, it is noticeable for the lack of heavy hitters like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Metallica and for the inclusion of more obscure bands like Gluecifer, The Raven Age, Cirith Ungol, Stone Sour, Iced earth and the like. It also only features one SA band in the form of the very likable Future Radio and their track called 'State of Emergency'. I didn't love this episode but maybe it will grow on me. I was very quiet on the WhatsApp line and that always affects the show negatively, December is notoriously quiet and the ratings for RRR always fall through the floor. In the final analysis is was heavier than normal with Pantera, Deangersmith, Exodus, Anthrax, Children of Bodom & Kreator. It will probably end up being one of the most popular shows ever. The highlight for me was 'The Fires of Division' by Exodus off their new masterpiece Persona Non-Grata, Gary Holt has excelled on this. The lowlight was the auto DJ kicking in every time the wifi connection drops. You won't hear it on the podcast but it really breaks the rhythm of the live show. I am looking forward to next week's show, if 2021 gave us nothing else the music released was fantastic. Artists featured: Palaye Royale, Last in Line, Accept, Black Sabbath, Children of Bodom, Exodus, Killswitch Engage, Linkin Park, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, The Sweet, Sixx A.M., Cirith Ungol, Hinder, Stone Sour, Kid Rock, Buckcherry, Rush. Texas Hippie Coalition, Lindemann, Iced Earth. John Mellencamp, James Reyne, Pantera, The Raven Age, The Stranglers, The Distillers, The Temperance Movement, Black Label Society, ACDC, Mammoth WVH, Future Radio, Kiss, Gluecifer, Volbeat, Deangersmith, Kreator, Anthrax
Scott sits with 3-time Lipps Service alumni, Palaye Royale! The members and brothers, Sebastian, Remington and Emerson sit in person and get into a good hour about their new record, their history and everything in between. The group gets into their style and inspirations and the determination it takes to make it in music now as one of the bands holding the flag for rock and roll. They chat about early life on the road and the dynamic of a brotherly band. Along the way they share some great stories about Gene Simmons of Kiss, and super early influences from the Stones to the Faces and the NY Dolls. They get into their current new album coming out and talk about what their music means to their fanatical fans. Tune in to a great conversation with one of our all time favs, Palaye Royale!
In this episode, Stryker welcomes Palaye Royale to the Tuna on Toast studio. Emerson, Sebastian and Remington discuss all things past, present and future including revealing for the first time, the name of their upcoming 4th album, Fever Dream . In this interview with Stryker, Palaye Royale talk about fighting amongst themselves, what lead to it, and how they have resolved the tension. The guys talk about playing early shows with Stone Sour and touring non stop city to city for very little money with no team behind them helping. Producer Chris Greatti has been extremely important in all ways. The band also talks about what a tough decision it was to cancel their huge European tour, and instead tour with Yungblud. Southern California-based alternative rock band Weathers - lead singer/frontman Cameron Boyer, guitarist Cameron Olsen, bassist Brennan Bates, and dummer Cole Carson - have been consistently creating finely crafted introspective pop songs heavily inspired by the counterculture of the 80s and 90s since forming in 2015. The band makes music that speaks to those among us who tend to forget that, regardless of outward appearances, everyone is struggling with something and that no one is alone. Weathers' story is a tale of growing up, of coming into one's own, and includes themes of depression or anxiety and the often difficult maintenance of mental health. Career Highlights: · 2016 single “Happy Pills” was the most added song on alternative radio on its impact date, received the most adds for a new artist in the 2010s, peaked at #21 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, and has been streamed more than 80M times to date. · 2018 album Kids in the Night released via RCA Records · Co-wrote and worked with Tim Pagnotta (Walk The Moon, Neon Trees), Kyle Moorman (P!nk, Andy Grammar, Elle King), and Drew Pearson (Switchfoot, Ke$ha) · Opened for Cage the Elephant, Jimmy Eat World, Dreamers, Palaye Royale, Badflower, Echosmith and Catfish & The Bottlemen, and played festivals like Lollapalooza, Summerfest, and Firefly. · Partnerships with mental health organizations Jed Foundation, Hot Topic Foundation, and Mental Health America. Episode 25 of Season for aired at 7 pm on 24 June 2021. Kicking off with Airbourne, one of Aussies finest we kept the pace up about 30 min with Deep Purple, Def Leppard, and a few others before going down south with some Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackberry Smoke. 'One Horse Town' off The Whippoorwill by Blackberry Smoke is an emotional look at small-town America and a very cool track. Next, we went as close to prog as we normally go on TSORR with Coheed & Cambia and a live version of Rush's masterpiece 2112. Punk was covered by Green Day, the Clash, and Ramones, it was great to hear the Clash's 'Somebody Got Murdered ' again, it's been ages since I heard that track off the very bloated Sandinista triple set. For the heavy, we took in an aural assault courtesy of Pantera, Parkway Drive, and later some Mastodon and Megadeth. Rory Gallagher and Zakk Wylde took care of the guitar lessons. As usual, I had 3 times the amount of music that would fit into 3 hours. The show is almost noticeable more for what we skipped than what we played :-)A highlight for me was Papa Roach with between Angels and Insects', that lyric is something else, I didn't realise how good it is and that folks, is the beauty of the show, you get your attention drawn to the little things that are massive. Another highlight was Queen off Live Killers, it is another of these "Never Forget" moments, Queen in their day were the best band in the world. Anyway, check it out, if you want to get in contact check out The Story of Rock and Roll Facebook page, until next week Adios Ameoba's Artists featured: Airbourne, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, Armored Saint, Drowning Pool, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackberry Smoke, Coheed & Cambria, Rush, Thin Lizzy, Rainbow, Green Day, The Clash, Ramones, Slaughter, Warrant, Pantera, Parkway Drive, Rory Gallagher, Pride & Glory, Junkyard, ACDC, Queen, Queensrÿche, Disturbed, Black Sabbath, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, John Mellancamp, Jack Hammer, Papa Roach, Soundgarden, Paul Stanley, Palaye Royale, Myles Kennedy, The Pretty Reckless, Megadeth, Mastodon, Ozzy Osbourne
