Parker shared the incredible story of his hunt for a massive buck in Michigan. This deer, known as "Turkey Foot" due to its unique rack, was a true rarity in the state, making Parker's achievement all the more impressive. Parker, who grew up in a hunting family, had been actively managing their property for years, passing on younger bucks in the hopes of allowing them to grow into mature, trophy-worthy deer. This dedication to responsible hunting and deer management paid off when Turkey Foot made an appearance on their trail cameras. The family had actually spotted Turkey Foot the previous year, but decided to let him go after he broke off one of his antlers. They wanted to give him another chance to grow and reach his full potential. Little did they know that the following year, Turkey Foot would return with a rack that would surpass their wildest expectations. On opening day of gun season, Parker found himself in his hunting shack, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to encounter Turkey Foot. After a few hours of patiently watching and waiting, the massive buck finally appeared. he decided to pass, knowing he wanted to make a clean and ethical kill. Later in the day, Turkey Foot made another appearance, this time heading towards another hunter on their property. However, the buck changed direction and started moving towards Parker. With careful range-finding and precise timing, Parker took his shot when Turkey Foot presented the perfect opportunity. The buck ran off, and Parker anxiously waited to see if he had made a clean kill. This podcast episode not only showcased Parker's remarkable hunting story but also highlighted the importance of responsible deer management and the joy of hunting with family. Parker and his family's dedication to passing on younger bucks and allowing them to grow into mature deer is a testament to their commitment to the sport and the conservation of wildlife. The story of Turkey Foot serves as a reminder that with patience, dedication, and a little bit of luck, hunters can have the opportunity to encounter and harvest truly exceptional deer. It also emphasizes the importance of respecting hunting regulations and ethical hunting practices to ensure the sustainability of wildlife populations. Parker's hunt for Turkey Foot will undoubtedly be a cherished memory for years to come. The massive buck serves as a symbol of the rewards that come from responsible hunting and the beauty of the natural world. Congratulations to Parker on his once-in-a-lifetime deer and for inspiring others with his passion for hunting and conservation. follow us on Generations to hunt on youtube- https://www.youtube.com/@generationstohuntpodcast193 Generations to hunt on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/generations_to_hunt_podcast/  Generations to hunt on Facebook -https://www.facebook.com/Generationstohunt

The charges stem from a failed armed robbery at a north Cobb home in May. The incident resulted in the death of a third co-conspirator, Anthony Jones, and injuries to Butler. Jones and Butler attempted to rob two individuals who subsequently shot them in self-defense. Although the robbery targets were unharmed, Butler and Howard still face murder charges under Georgia law, which holds assailants responsible for the death of co-conspirators during a crime. Butler is in custody without bond, while Howard's status is unclear.   Story 3: carr   Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, who is speculated to run for governor after Brian Kemp's term, addressed the Cobb County Republican Women's Club. The current agreement sees 19.75% of Marietta's hotel-motel revenue go to the authority, but the city council has voted to defer action on a new agreement until the next mayor and council take office in 2026. The decision could impact the authority's plans for a major renovation, including a new on-site hotel. The authority argues that stable revenue is crucial for its redevelopment plans.   STORY 5: k9   The Georgia Police K9 Foundation has provided a LOF Streetfighter Vest, valued at $1,200, to K9 Axel of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. K9 Axel, a Belgium Malinois, is based in Acworth and serves in Region 1 of the DNR, covering Cobb County. The vest, designed to be lightweight and protect K9s from overheating, helps regulate body temperature in Georgia's hot climate. The Georgia Police K9 Foundation is a volunteer-based nonprofit that raises awareness about the contributions of police K9s and supports their protection and safety during dangerous situations.   Story 6: circle   More than 2,000 students, teachers, and supporters gathered at North Cobb Christian School for their annual Circle of Prayer event, emphasizing the school's Christian faith. The event also marked the school's 40th anniversary. Participants circled the football field, offering prayers for students' growth, successful school years, faculty, staff, local communities, the nation, and the world. The event included hymns, guided prayers, and worship singing. The school's student life director, Parker Smith, highlighted the importance of prayer for spiritual growth and its reminder of God's control. The Circle of Prayer has become a cherished tradition at the school.   We'll be back in a moment   Break: Powers – elon - ESOG   Story 7: pipe   The new pipe organ at First United Methodist Church is nearly 85% installed, with about 3,180 pipes needing individual tuning and adjustments for optimal sound. The organ, which arrived in July 2021, is replacing the church's 50-year-old pipe organ that was in disrepair. The installation is expected to be completed by November 5th, coinciding with a consecration service. The German-built organ by Glatter-Götz cost $1.5 million and took 18 months to construct. The church's organist, Brian Parks, explained that consultants are fine-tuning the pipes to ensure proper sound quality and volume, likening the process to blending an orchestra.   Story 8: board   Unlike other local government bodies in Cobb County, the Marietta school board does not broadcast or record its meetings for public viewing. Board members and the superintendent have varying opinions on the matter. Only one board member, Jaillene Hunter, expressed explicit support for making meetings available through live streams or recordings, emphasizing transparency. Other members had concerns about the cost of implementing such changes and the impact on the close-knit community feel of in-person meetings. The district had experimented with live streaming during the pandemic, but the impact on engagement was minimal. The board chair, Kerry Minervini, noted that current resources are better focused on education rather than recording meetings.   Story 9: debut   The Walker Wolverines, under new coach TJ Anderson, showed significant improvement from last year's disappointing season as they triumphed over the Indians with a commanding 43-0 shutout victory. The team started strong and maintained control throughout the game. Coach Anderson emphasizes focusing on the present season and improving fundamentals. Quarterback Aidan Charles had a standout performance with 116 passing yards, complemented by a robust rushing game that contributed to their 371 yards of total offense. The defense played exceptionally well, holding the Indians to under 100 total yards. Special teams also made an impact by blocking multiple punts. Coach Anderson credits the team's dedication and aims to continue progressing week by week.   …Back with final thoughts after   Break: -Art - Henssler 60 - JRM Signoff- Thanks again for hanging out with us on today's Marietta Daily Journal podcast. Parker Smith is a Dallas-based entrepreneur, author, and work-from-home Dad of two under two. He's the founder of Beginner's Apprenticeship, a project aiming to make daily prayer rhythms of the Christian faith accessible for families with young children through story and song, beginning with "The King is Coming" a board book / music pairing for the Advent season. Some highlights from our conversation:-Parker shares where the Lord led him as he meditated on Luke 1 – Mary's song.-He also shares how this passage is deeply meaningful to him and was one of the passages that inspired his first book in the Beginner's Apprenticeship series: The King is Coming.-We talk about why he decided to add songs to the books to help his son stay engaged with the content. And how it was evident that the Spirit was in the process of writing and producing the music. -The songs are modeled after a style of worship that is meditative and focuses on a phrase of two sung over and over. Perfect for children – and for us adults that struggle to memorize.-We talk about Parker's deepest hope is with the Beginner's Apprenticeship-Finally, we end with Mary Song – and you don't want to miss this special ending so listen to the end.You can connect with Parker on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beginnersapprenticeship/You can find The King is Coming book here: https://www.beginnersapprenticeship.com/And the companion album here: https://www.beginnersapprenticeship.com/the-king-is-coming-music

Have you ever heard the term “your strength is in your struggle?” The Simple Sales System was born as the result of a life transition that forced me to take a good hard look at my business and my numbers. Once I got over the struggle of doing that (and saw the massive results it created in my business and my life), I wanted to help other photographers do the same thing, ideally before they were forced to do so by events outside of their control. Today, Cassidy Parker Smith is sharing about the set of personal circumstances that forced her to make some hard changes in her business, and how that struggle actually turned out to be one of the strongest things she has ever done... for herself, her family, and her business. Links:Cassidy's Website Cassidy's InstagramThe Simple Sales System

Most of you listening know all about AGCO - they are a major farm machinery designer, manufacturer, and distributor, including tractors, combine harvesters, hay & forage machinery. This includes brands like Fendt, Massey Furgeson, Challenger, Valtra, Gleaner, and many others. They also have a growing grain and protein division which offers grain storage, seed processing, and protein production equipment. In Louisa's role as head of sustainability, she sets strategy for AGCO's sustainability programs and ESG which stands for environmental, social, and governance. It's a very hot topic especially among publicly traded companies, which AGCO is. Sustainability roles like Louisa's are unique, in that she is constantly engaging with all of the key stakeholders surrounding the business: customers, dealers, AGCO colleagues, and investors. It's also a role that requires her to be thinking much further out than most others. She says she's regularly thinking 10 years out or longer, which brings a very interesting perspective on the future of agriculture.  In today's episode, we talk about ESG and the interest of investors to know what AGCO is doing in terms of sustainability, where AGCO is focusing their efforts particularly on reducing emissions including scope 3 emissions which includes the footprint of their customers who use their products, future innovations in farm machinery, and her time in Africa where she held multiple roles with the company including Director of Distribution Development on the continent.

Parker had the courage to speak up. But as you'll hear in this episode, at first his voice was not heard. This episode speaks of the responsibility of responsible adults responding to the voice of children. It's a wake-up call, one we need to take seriously.  About Parker: Parker is your typical pre-teen with dreams and plans, just like the rest of us. Sports are his life, according to his mom, Kacie.  He enjoys all sports but most of all loves softball.  He plays for a team in his small community, and his position is pitcher and outfielder.  When he is not out on the field he enjoys skateboarding and hanging out with his friends and family. When Parker grows up, he wants to become a humanitarian and help others who have gone through tough situations like his. Enjoy this first "Inspire Us Kids" episode. So it’s a very interesting time for him even though he’s been at it for well over a decade. It’s officially a new year but we’re still not over how great our podcasts turned out in 2017. Last year, we started doing interview podcasts every single week in addition to our Indie Film Weekly episodes. We’ve had tons of great guests from Sean Baker to Flying Lotus and everything in between. In the first volume of our “Best Of” episodes, we heard from Flying Lotus, Gillian Robespierre, Brett Gelman and more. Today you’ll hear selections from Sean Baker, Ruben Ostlund, Parker Smith and Lloyd Kaufman of Troma Entertainment. Our series will continue next week, as NFS Producer Jon Fusco leads you through more of the best clips from 2017. If you haven’t heard all of our interview podcasts, these are some great examples of the type of information you can expect to come away with after every listen.

Linda has been in the field of dentistry for over 30 years.  She has done everything you can do in a dental practice except be a dentist.  Dentistry in her blood and she totally loves the practice of dentistry.  After a career in dentistry, Linda had the opportunity to go to dental consulting school at Mercer Advisors.  Subsequently she opened her own dental consulting firm Dynamic Dental Consulting.  While visiting a prison ministry, Alongside Ministry, she saw many people covering their mouths to talk.  After asking one of the girls if she could see her teeth and examining her mouth she saw one of the worst mouths she had ever seen.   Periodontal disease, broken black teeth and no front teeth.  Linda’s heart was moved and after much prayer she decided she needed to help these people smile again.  She called a dentist that she had worked with, Dr Mark Peck, and asked him what he would think of helping ex-felons get a new lease on life and receive a renewed smile.  He said, “I like it send me one and we will see how it goes.” Mark’s office restored the mouth of one girl and was so excited they said, “We want to give confidence, and a new life to another person.”      At that time, there was no name for this program.  The program started to grow just by word of mouth and began changing lives, One Smile at a Time. With much excitement for the program, Linda dissolved her consulting firm and took this project on full time.  She immediately obtained a 501c3 nonprofit designation and went to the Corporation Commission, formed a board of directors, and Smiles Beyond the Bars was formed.   Linda was recently recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal, was named Woman of the Year by the Nation Association of Professional Woman, and will be recognized on the 20th of July by the Phoenix Rescue Mission for the number of people that Smiles has transformed for them.  Smiles has a recidivism rate of 0%.   www.smilesbeyondthebars.org

Before "Ramblin Freak'," Tacodeli employee Parker Smith had made only one movie featuring sound. The three three-time film school dropout was stuck between a rock and a hard place after realizing his internship at The Austin Film Society was little more than the theater job he had left in Boulder, Colorado to make a name for himself in Texas. Now, the task of making your first feature is a daunting one. Some would think that filming it entirely alone should make things a hundred times more difficult. For Parker, however, being the only member of his film crew provided him with exactly the freedom necessary to experiment, learn and shoot his movie right.   No Film School's Jon Fusco sat down with Smith at SXSW to learn how he pulled off making a movie about a guy who doesn't know how to make a movie. From watching five documentaries a night to finding a producer through Instagram, he provides us with tremendous insight into the art of learning as you go.
