También nos hacemos eco de las declaraciones de Mario Vaquerizo en un podcast que no recordamos, porque nosotras o no sabemos por dónde nos viene el aire o directamente imaginamos las noticias. Queridos Rímelers: Superando no pocas adversidades nos reunimos nuevamente en una fecha tan especial como es el cumpleaños de Nayra. El año pasado casi conoce a JJ Vázquez en la grabación y este año tampoco. Como llegamos sin guión, como cada semana, nos hemos centrado en hablaros de sucesos varios acontecidos en estas semanas. Desde la señora estafada por el Enrique Iglesias Nigeriano hasta el ruso que con 23 años ya está jubilado. No hemos querido centrarnos en movidas muy truculentas porque no sé si sabéis que a estas horas ya tendríais que tener preparado vuestro kit de supervivencia de 72 horas ante catástrofes. Nos parece bien que sean solamente 72 horas porque, una vez pasado ese tiempo, si no puedes encender la tele no merece la pena seguir viviendo. Como esta semana no tenemos que "lamentar" el amoche de ningún CEO multimillonario explotador, hemos preferido centrarnos en nuestra sección de sociedad, seguida del habitual repaso a los realities que interelu (especial hincapié en Supervivientes y la movida eterna Anita y Montoya) y un pequeño #Culturaviva. ¡Carnaval! Estamos en plena celebración de la fiesta que transcurre antes de la Cuaresma así que hablamos de los carnavales más importantes de España como el de Cádiz o el de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, con nuestra amiga Nayra del podcast Rímel y Castigo. When it comes to gaming, I really don't know much. Like, my experience is pretty limited to Mario Kart and Super Mario Bros and maybe a few other older games. Apart from that, I got the smallest taste of Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man 2 and completely fell in love. So when I got the idea to discuss gaming, I knew I had to bring on a friend who has a love for gaming and a love for the Spider-Man games! Which is why I was so excited to bring back my friend Nemo. Step into a galaxy far, far away as we discuss the character of Finn from the Star Wars sequel films. We discuss what drew us to Finn, his representation as a person of colour, and the impact of his journey as a former stormtrooper. During this episode, we take a look at his arc as well has relationships with some of the other characters. Continuing our Pride Month coverage, I'm chatting today with comics creator Iasmin Omar Ata (Delta) about their new YA graphic novel Nayra and the Djinn from from Viking Books for Younger Readers. Full of delightful supernatural folklore, this modern interpretation of the mythology of the djinn brings the myth to a whole new generation of readers while following the protagonist Nayra as she navigates bullying and shifting friendships in this coming of age story from the perspective of a young Muslim during Ramadan. I loved this book and getting to geek out a bit about coloring was an extra special treat. Nayra and the Djinn is out now so make sure to pick it up. Or should I say, I am”  Okay okay, I know Thanos said that but I mean…it feels a little right.  Kang is…a menace to say the least but who is he really? What are his motivations? His powers? What is his purpose in Marvel?    In this episode, Michael joins me to break down who Kang is - taking a look at him in the comics and seeing how those characteristics and traits may translate into the MCU. Because, as I mention in the episode…he's coming in HOT. Kang is about to play a pivotal role in the MCU, especially leading up to Kang Dynasty. So I love musicals and I LOVE The Princess Diaries, so I had this thought one day - what if that movie was turned into a musical? Now, this idea truly flourished while talking with Marissa when I was beginning to plan her episode. Luckily, she was on board with the potential of a Princess Diaries musical. And so this episode was born! Before getting into it all, I had to take a moment to dig into Marissa's love for musicals and also, what makes a musical good. Further, what makes an excellent musical adaption of a movie? Because this is tough, it's not an easy feat! Empezó como una manera en la que los ricos y aristócratas ofrecían sus culos al vulgo para ser lamidos a un nivel sin precedentes aprovechando las bondades de las nuevos desarrollos tecnológicos, como la imprenta y el telégrafo, y ha acabado siendo el circo donde los curritos hacemos escarnio de las desgracias y ridiculeces de nuestra nobleza moderna. Es un poco como Twitter, que todo el mundo se abre la cuenta pensando conseguir adoradores y sale escaldado. Si es cierto eso que dicen que los ricos también lloran entonces QUE LLOREN. En este programa nos iremos mucho por las ramas, repasaremos la historia del papel couché, recordaremos algunos escándalos bastante aleatorios y no haremos ninguna de las secciones habituales porque no nos habíamos preparado nada pero, teniendo invitada, ¿quién se fija en esos detalles? Now lately there's been some people going around talking about how Miles isn't Spider-Man...and frankly?? that is ridiculous. Welcome to the first episode of 2023! Phase Five begins this year and what a great way to start off the new season by discussing what's to come! My friend Jay joins me for this episode to chat all about what's to come in this new phase. We touch on a few elements of Phase Four since it just ended and how it may impact the Multiverse Saga moving forward. Now Phase Five is going to be exciting, I mean we're going to get a true taste of Kang the Conqueror! We got a lot of great new characters during Phase Four who will be returning and it's going to be amazing to watch them grow throughout the MCU. As well, we have some characters who are really coming into their role as a hero and it's going to be amazing to watch them flourish (*cough* Captain America *cough*).
