Hösten 1944 flyr 55 000 finländare över gränsen till Sverige. På andra sidan älven står Finland i lågor. En av dem, Sirkka, bär på en stor hemlighet. Lyssna på alla avsnitt i Sveriges Radio Play. En dag i september 1944 kommer evakueringsordern: hela byn ska tömmas, hela Lappland ska evakueras. Ingen vet om de någonsin kommer tillbaka. De finländska myndigheterna fruktar en ny väpnad konflikt och att tyskarna inte kommer att ge sig av frivilligt. Den finländska staten beslutar därför att omgående evakuera över 100 000 kvinnor, barn och äldre från sina hem.Strax före Lapplandskrigets utbrott beslutar sig Sverige för att hjälpa Finland: på kort tid tar man emot över 50 000 nordfinska flyktingar. En del av dem korsar gränsen till fots, andra med tåg eller bil. Hösten 1944 strömmar människor över gränsen till Sverige. Haparanda är den sydligaste av gränsövergångsställena. Hundratals, ibland tusentals äldre, kvinnor och barn i alla åldrar anländer dit varje dag. Med dem kommer också tusentals kor.De evakuerade flyttas till olika delar av norra Sverige: Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland, Jämtland och Gävleborg. Även flyktingläger upprättas i Sverige. I Västerbottens län finns två stora läger där hundratals människor bor i baracker: Kusforslägret och Jörn-Lindå-lägret, i folkmun kallade Lilla Helsingfors och Lilla Rovaniemi.

On today's episode we have an in-depth interview with the godfather of electronic music in Ireland, Roger Doyle. A composer, keyboardist and producer, he's been writing music for over 50 years.Starting in the Royal Irish Academy Of Music, he went on to develop his craft at the Dutch Institute Of Sonology and later the Finnish Radio Experimental Music Studio. His curiousity around new technology and recording techniques led him to using the Fairlight CMI - an early sampler and synthesizer that changed the course of modern music. In 1986, his group Operating Theatre released the single Spring Is Coming With A Strawberry In The Mouth. Although at the time of release the song didn't have much impact, it's gone on to become a cult classic, with acclaimed US singer Caroline Polachek releasing a very popular cover of the song earlier this year. Naturally, we talk about this, and other compositions over the years, as well as Roger's ceaseless appetite for writing new work. Kaum zu glauben, aber wahr: Collateralized Loan Obligations oder CLOs sind ein Billionen-Dollar-Markt, den trotzdem kaum ein Anleger richtig kennt. In den USA kaufen CLO-Anbieter rund 70 Prozent aller Unternehmenskredite am Markt und unterteilen sie in verschiedene Risiko-Tranchen. „Daraus ergibt sich der große Vorteil bei CLOs, dass sich Investoren selbst aussuchen können, mit welchem Risikoprofil sie sich engagieren wollen“, sagt Paavo Bartsch von CIS Asset Management im Hedgework-Talk. Der Eschborner Asset Manager kann seit seiner Gründung 2007 einen Track Record von 11,2% p.a. für sein CLO-Portfolio vorweisen. „Wichtig für Investoren ist zudem, dass CLOs breit über viele Branchen diversifiziert sind“, sagt Ines Bartsch, die für das Fondsmanagement zuständig ist. CLOs sind durch die Unternehmenskredite erstrangig besichert und unterscheiden sich deutlich von CDOs (Collateralized Debt Obligations), die bei der Finanzkrise 2008 eine unrühmliche Rolle gespielt haben.

Paavo Nurmi war in den 1920er Jahren der Überflieger der Leichtathletik. Bei den Olympischen Sommerspielen gewann er insgesamt neun Gold- und drei Silbermedaillen. Er gilt auch als Mitbegründer des systematischen Intervalltrainings.

Er gehört zu den drei erfolgreichsten Teilnehmern an Olympischen Sommerspielen aller Zeiten. Der finnische Langstreckenläufer Paavo Nurmi war in den 1920er Jahren der Überflieger der Leichtathletik - und wird zum finnischen Nationalhelden. Und doch sagt Nurmi rückblickend: "Ich habe in meinem Leben nichts geleistet". Begründet ist das sicherlich in der lebenslangen Sperre, die seine sportliche Karriere jäh beenden sollte.
