Estonian conductor Paavo Järvi is one of the most in-demand maestros in the world, and one of Alec’s favorite conductors. Järvi is currently the chief conductor of the NHK symphony orchestra in Tokyo and the Tonhalle Orchester-Zürich. Over his career, he’s led orchestras in Paris, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Malmö, and, for the decade between 2001 and 2011, here in the United States, as the musical director of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He and his musical family are pillars of the thriving classical music scene in his home country of Estonia. Hedgework Talk im Gespräch mit Uwe Lill den Markt, seine Besonderheiten und wie er sich 2025 entwickelte. „Auf der Aktivseite eines CLOs stehen 150 bis 250 dinglich besicherte Kredite“, erklärt Paavo Bartsch die Struktur. 70 Prozent der in den USA begebenen börsennotierten Unternehmensanleihen werden von CLOs gehalten. „Auf der Passivseite, der Finanzierungsseite, stehen die verschiedenen Tranchen“, sagt Bartsch. Ganz oben ist die Triple-AAA-Tranche, die sicherste und am niedrigsten verzinste Tranche. Über AA geht es hinab bis zur Equity-Tranche. „Hier sammelt sich die höchste Rendite“, weiß Bartsch. „Aber auch das höchste Risiko.“ Historisch gewachsen ist der CLO-Markt auf der Nachfrageseite von großen institutionellen Playern dominiert. Dementsprechend groß sind die Produkte – ein durchschnittlicher CLO liegt bei 500 Millionen Dollar mit Anleihen von mehreren hundert Unternehmen im Portfolio – und entsprechend groß sind die Tranchen, die gehandelt werden. Mit dem Aufkommen von CLO-ETFs können nun auch andere Kundenschichten in die Produktkategorie CLOs investieren. „Per se ist diese Entwicklung gar nicht schlecht“, sagt Ines Bartsch, die beim CLO-Spezialisten CIS Asset Management aus Eschborn bei Frankfurt für das Fondsmanagement zuständig ist. „Der Investor muss sich nur sehr genau das Risiko-Return-Profil jedes einzelnen CLO-ETFs genau anschauen. Jeder ETF ist anders“, gibt Frau Bartsch zu bedenken.
