Patricia was born at Willersley Castle, close to Chatsworth House, in Derbyshire, on a cold November evening – hence her star sign of “Scorpio”. Being born with the gift of “Vision” she always had “spirit children” to play with, and very rarely chose human youngsters as friends. By the time she was eleven, she had experienced many meetings with her “guides”. “ISHEA”, a North American Indian, is her main guide plus an Irish jockey by the name of “Patrick”. Patricia sees everything she predicts in “visionary form” given to her by a higher force, and although she works in a type of trance this is not at all noticeable to clients. All souls are treated with the same kind of love and understanding only a spiritually aware person can give. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe To Our YouTube Channel Click Here: http://bit.ly/3kiuOPi Never Miss A Video! Today is the final regular episode of Season Three of Countermelody, as well as the last of my summer series documenting musical life in New York City during the years 1950 through 1975. I am thrilled to start what I hope will be an occasional series of episodes that will drop throughout Season Four, which begins in two weeks. I present to you a small sampling of the extraordinary singing actors that peopled the stage of New York City Opera during the years in question. The most famous of these, of course, is Beverly Sills, and she is aptly represented in her most radiant early prime. But there are many other singers as well, including African American divas Carol Brice and Veronica Tyler, preceded by Camilla Williams (the first Black singer to be awarded a standing contract with a major US opera company… in 1946!). City Opera was celebrated for presenting an absolute slew of new American work in its heyday, and we hear works by Carlilse Floyd, Robert Ward, Douglas Moore, Marc Blitzstein, and Jack Beeson in performances by Phyllis Curtin, Frances Bible, Brenda Lewis, and Ellen Faull. Other divas strutting their stuff include Olivia Stapp, Johanna Meier, and the three mesdames Patricia: Brooks, Wells, and Wise. The episode is capped by some of the rarest live recordings from the stage of City Opera by three singers who made their mark during their heyday, and would be the biggest stars in the world were they singing today: Gilda Cruz-Romo, Maralin Niska, and Carol Neblett, all of whom will be featured in her own episode during Countermelody's upcoming season. A fitting way to end Season Three, as well as a harbinger of vocal delights to come! (Next week will be a preview of the upcoming season!) Countermelody is a podcast devoted to the glory and the power of the human voice raised in song. Singer and vocal aficionado Daniel Gundlach explores great singers of the past and present focusing in particular on those who are less well-remembered today than they should be. Daniel's lifetime in music as a professional countertenor, pianist, vocal coach, voice teacher, and journalist yields an exciting array of anecdotes, impressions, and “inside stories.” At Countermelody's core is the celebration of great singers of all stripes, their instruments, and the connection they make to the words they sing. By clicking on the following link (https://linktr.ee/CountermelodyPodcast) you can find the dedicated Countermelody website which contains additional content including artist photos and episode setlists. The link will also take you to Countermelody's Patreon page, where you can pledge your monthly support at whatever level you can afford. Bonus episodes available exclusively to Patreon supporters are currently available and further bonus content including interviews and livestreams is planned for the upcoming season.
Patricia Brooks Hart is a sarcoidosis sister and a life coach, based in New York City. She was diagnosed with sarcoidosis in 2010, coincidently, two years after her sister, but with very different symptoms. Patricia Brooks Hart does not think of herself as a sarcoidosis warrior, even though she is in a fight for her life. Rather, she hopes to end the fight and declare a truce, at least until we can find a cure. To do that, she has tried to learn as much as possible about how sarcoidosis affects the body, and how to practice good self-care to better withstand the disease and the side effects of medication. Pat was diagnosed in 2010 and three years later had to leave a 35-year career when sarcoidosis took her down. As she began the journey back to health, she was searching for a way to feel useful, and that day came when Ed Haskins asked her to join the admin team for his new Facebook group, Sarcoidosis for Beginners. This group is for anyone who wants to learn about Sarcoidosis since there is so much mystery that we are all beginners. Pat spends time researching information from credible sources to share, and the group provides a place where people can learn about the disease, learn how to advocate for themselves, and rely on each other for encouragement and support. As an offshoot of that group Pat created two pages just for informational purposes, "Once Upon a Time: Sarcoidosis for Beginners" and "A Holistic Approach to Managing Sarcoidosis." These pages serve as a place to share information with people who may not want to be part of a support group. Pat soon realized that the Holistic Approach to Managing Sarcoidosis is actually nothing more than a comprehensive approach to managing your health, whether you have a chronic illness or not. As a result, she expanded her horizons and became certified as a health and wellness coach to help others not just survive but thrive through better self-care that nourishes the mind, the body, and the spirit. Being so close to mortality, Patricia began to make some fundamental changes, doing her best to make each moment count. By challenging herself and listening to the voice in her own heart, Patricia made herself a promise; to live life to the fullest, to have no regrets, and to live the boldest life possible. Sneak Preview! In this episode Patricia Brooks reads an excerpt from her upcoming book Live a Bold Life: Your 30-Day Mission to a Fearless Future. She is joined by Tina Metzger who walks through the Intuitive Affirmation and Reflection at the end of the chapter and shares her impression of the book. Live a Bold life is a collection of inspiring and insightful stories from my first year living in France. They are paired with questions that the reader answers to create their own set of powerful Intuitive Affirmations. Intuitive Affirmations are different from other positive affirmations you may have heard about in that you create them from your own inner knowing. They target and disarm the blocks and limiting beliefs that impede you from achieving what you want. Intuitive Affirmations are so powerful because they come from your intuition.
In this special episode, Patricia Brooks gives you a sneak peek of her soon-to-be released book (working title Insights and Affirmations for Living a Bold Life) and discusses it with Jennifer Shotwell. Listen to the end for your free gift.

Come and meet Patricia Brooks, an interfaith seminary student, animal totem intuitive, angel card reader, and angel healing practitioner, who helps people reconnect to their spiritual Self through many roles. Patricia is also an author, blogger, and contributing writer for two spiritual magazines, "Soul Life Times" and "Lightworkers World". Dedicated to continuing her studies of different spiritual practices and energy modalities, Patricia's Divine life purpose is to spread the healing message of Oneness and our connection to our higher Self, each other, and all living beings. "God Is in the Little Things: Messages from the Animals" is Patricia's big literary debut. An unlikely author, Patricia was Divinely guided to write this book. She had been receiving many messages telling her she was to write a book. Not understanding what she was to write the book on, Patricia received two very direct messages from God while in the dream space, not only showing her chapter by chapter what to write, but also giving her the book title! God is in the Little Things: Messages from the Animals follows author Patricia Brooks' spiritual journey through loss, confusion and understanding, which ultimately ends with her reclaiming her identity and self-worth through learning to love herself. By laying out the intimate details of her life, Brooks invites readers to share in both her struggles and her triumphs in the hopes that readers will feel inspired to embark on their own spiritual journeys and reclaim their own joy and sense of self. “Everyone is wounded in some way,” said Brooks. “Our wounds are our emotional, spiritual, and psychological manifestations of our opportunities to grow spiritually.” As the reader goes deeper into Brooks' story, they will learn about her experiences with animals, acting as animal totems, and how God communicates to people through unexpected means. “Communication with the Divine is not only possible, it is happening all around us,” said Brooks. “We just have to be open and aware of it, so we can fully participate in our human and spiritual journey.” For more information, visit www.godisinthelittlethings.com and www.godisinthelittlethings.blogspot.com. www.barbaradelong.com
