LONG PAUSE… Now see if you can imagine yourself, Surrounded by the soothing sounds of the forest. The crickets and the wind play sleep sounds in your ears, Lulling you into calm. PAUSE… The trees are surrounding you, Protecting you, And breathing life into your body. The soft forest floor tenderly holds you, And invites you to rest. PAUSE… This is your place of serenity, Your place of peace. Breathe in the air, And feel it warm you, And bring you home. LONG PAUSE… The bubbles may still arise, But they easily float off into the night. And each time you see one go by, You nod in its direction, Acknowledging its existence, And then gratefully say goodbye as its journeys into the darkness. Now take a deep breath in, Filling up your belly with air, And then holding it for just a few seconds. Hold it. And then exhale, Releasing the air, releasing the tension, releasing the day. PAUSE… Find your breath. Let yourself follow it, In and out. Expanding and contracting. Cleansing and releasing. Surrender to it, The rhythmic motion of air, Like the waves of the ocean dancing with the beach, Rising and covering the sand, And then retracting and releasing its hold. Breathing in, Breathing out. Breathe… PAUSE… Everything that you're holding onto right now, All those thoughts, Worries, Plans, Desires, Breathe them out every time you exhale. They do not belong here. PAUSE… Now bring your attention to your legs, Feeling the tingling energy flowing up your body. Notice the warmth in your calves, Your knees, Your quads, And your thighs. Send love to your legs, Thanking them for the movement they give you, The freedom they provide, The strength they have. PAUSE… Now feel the warm, tingling energy travel up to your hips, Your glutes, And through all of your sacred sexual organs. Send them your love, For the life they give, And the cycles they honor. PAUSE… Now bring your attention to your stomach, And your chest. Feel the gentle tingle of energy spread here, As you whisper love and gratitude with every exhale. PAUSE… Feel the soft energy expand down each of your arms. Feel your shoulders, Your elbows, And your fingers tingle with warm energy. Send them all your appreciation, For all the ability to give and receive, And the countless embraces. PAUSE… Now feel the warmth flow into your neck, Your jaw, Your eyes, Your ears, Your forehead, And the crown of your head. So settle into your bed, positioning yourself as comfortably as you can on your back. Take a moment to cover yourself in your blankets if you like, And then allow yourself to simply lay still for a few moments, As your attention shifts from all the outside noise of the day, To the calm inside your breath. PAUSE… Feel your body relaxing further with every breath, As the warmth of your soft bed pulls you in deeper, Deeper, Deeper. PAUSE… Now slowly bring your attention to your arms, And slowly extend and stretch them in any direction that feels comfortable for you. Stretching them long as you feel your muscles expand, holding it for just a moment. And then release the stretch, Allowing your arms to settle deeper into comfort. PAUSE… Now bring your attention to your neck, And slowly drop your head to one side, feeling the stretch on the side of your neck as you do. Breathe into the stretch, staying with the pull of the muscles, And release. Drop your head to the other side, stretching the other side of your neck, Imagine that muscle stretching and relieving any pain or tension it does, And then release, Bringing your head and your neck back into a deeply relaxed and comfortable position. PAUSE… Now let your attention fall upon your face, As you open your mouth wide, stretching out the muscles in your cheeks, mouth and forehead. Keep expanding the stretch, feeling the muscles release the weight of the day, And then release, Relaxing your forehead, face, cheeks and mouth, As they melt into your pillow. PAUSE… Now for the last stretch, reach your hands up above your head and stretch your legs out as far as you can, Pointing your toes and opening your fingers, Imagining your body being pulled from the top and bottom as your body expands. Feel the stretch align your spine, And release any pieces of stress or tension stored in your body. And release, Feeling the rush of calmness in your body, As you allow yourself to now settle into your favorite sleeping position. PAUSE… Breathe. If there's any more tension or pain in your body, Breathe it out through your exhale. And then surrender further into the comfort of your bed. Breathe and release. Breathe and relax. PAUSE… And then take a full, deep breath in, Inhaling the night's air deep into your lungs, And then exhale, Melting deeper into this special spot. PAUSE… Concentrate on your breathing, Inviting your mind to hold its attention On the rhythmic movement of air in and out of your nose. PAUSE… Breathe in, Breathe out. PAUSE… Slow your body down with every breath, Even if your mind speeds up. Just stay with your breath, And slow it all down. LONG PAUSE... Now bring your attention to the top of your head, Imagining a soft lavender light hovering just above it. PAUSE… Feel the comforting warmth of this lavender light, And its calming energy relaxing your head completely. PAUSE… Feel it quiet everything inside. Feel it deeply relax your eyes, Soften your cheeks, Release your jaw, Soften your mouth, And relieve your neck. LONG PAUSE… Notice as the soft, lavender light travels down, Wrapping its soothing energy around your shoulders, Your right arm, Your left arm, Your hands. PAUSE… Notice the soft hum of sleep it spreads here, And then feel your shoulders drop, Your right arm and your left arm melt, And your hands soften and relax, LONG PAUSE… The soothing lavender light now settles onto your chest, Relaxes your belly, And slowly cascades down your back, Following your spine from your neck, All the way down to your lower back. Relaxing and releasing, Relaxing and releasing. LONG PAUSE… Invite the calming energy of the soft, lavender light to spread into your hips, Down into your thighs, And circling around your left leg, And now your right leg. PAUSE... Watch it spiral all the way down into your right foot, And then your left foot. And then covering your toes, One by one. LONG PAUSE… Breathe deeply, And feel yourself wrapped lovingly in the soothing, Lavender light of the night. PAUSE… Let it heal you, Let it cleanse you, Let it relieve your body of all the tension it carries. Let it relieve your mind of all the thoughts inside.
