Global Energy Metals CEO Mitchell Smith joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the company has signed a non-binding Letter of Intent with NeoLithica Ltd. to acquire an 18-month option for a 19.9% ownership stake and a 1% Net Smelter Return royalty in NeoLithica's Peace River Lithium Project in Alberta, Canada. Smith shared that Global Energy Metals aims to integrate innovative direct lithium extraction and refining technologies to produce battery-grade lithium compounds, aligning with Canada's growing critical mineral supply chain. The Peace River Project boasts thick, highly productive lithium-brine aquifers associated with carbonate reef buildups in the Leduc Formation of the Devonian Woodbend Group. To access the Leduc Formation's lithium-rich brine, wells will be drilled to depths of approximately 2,250 metres. After lithium extraction, the brine will be re-injected into an overlying porous aquifer, supporting environmentally sustainable operations. The Peace River Project consists of 50 contiguous lithium-brine licenses issued by the Alberta Energy Ministry, covering the Leduc Formation fringing reef and the overlying Wabamun Formation, both of which were deposited in a shallow inland sea along the Peace River Arch. The project spans a total area of 377,508 hectares and is currently 100% owned by NeoLithica Ltd. Smith emphasized that this partnership strengthens Global Energy Metals' position in the lithium sector and supports the company's broader mission to contribute to the clean energy transition by securing critical resources for the battery supply chain. #proactiveinvestors #globalenergymetalscorporation #tsxv #gemc #otcqb #gblef #MillenniumProject #GraphiteDiscovery #CriticalMinerals #ElectricVehicles #Copper #Cobalt #EVBatteryMaterials #MiningUpdates #MetalBank #peaceriverproject #lithium

Dr. Jordan B. Peterson sits down with Canada's Minister of Mental Health and Addiction, Dan Williams. They discuss how Canada became the epicenter of the world's opioid crisis, the federal approach that only enables further addiction, the demoralization of Canadians as the country's future continues to destabilize, and the efforts needed to right the ship — before it is too late. Dan Williams was sworn in as the Minister of Mental Health and Addiction on June 9, 2023. He was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Peace River on April 16, 2019, and was reelected on May 29, 2023. Minister Williams has been tasked with implementing Alberta's mental health and addiction strategy, known as the Alberta Recovery Model. This policy model focuses on the fact that recovery is possible, no matter what addiction or mental health challenge someone may face. Under his leadership, Alberta is building 11 recovery communities across the province, a record-breaking expansion to long-term addiction treatment. He has connected with communities, First Nations, and families dealing with the addiction crisis. Alberta has now established a new mental health and addiction agency, Recovery Alberta, which is funded and overseen by the Minister of Mental Health and Addiction. The province, under Minister Williams, is also investing in mental health services, especially for children and youth. Partnerships with service providers are expanding services across the entire province and connecting families with the mental health support they need. This episode was filmed on October 31st, 2024.  | Links | For Minister Dan Williams: On X https://x.com/DanWilliamsAB On Youtube https://youtube.com/@danwilliamsab?si=b5IvXW7t-XHDo285 On Facebook https://m.facebook.com/DanWilliamsPeaceCountry/

In this podcast episode, Nicole O'Byrne talks to Jonathan Swainger about his book “The Notorious Georges: Crime and Community in British Columbia's Northern Interior, 1909-25”, published by UBC Press in 2023. In The Notorious Georges, Jonathan Swainger explores how the local pursuit of respectability collided with caricatures of a riotously ill-mannered settlement frontier of Prince George, British Columbia, in its early years. Anxious that the Georges were being overlooked by the provincial government and venture capitalists, municipal leaders blamed Indigenous and mixed-heritage people, non-preferred immigrants, and transient laborers for local crime. Swainger combs through police and legal records, government publications, and media commentary to demonstrate that the reputation was not only exaggerated, but also unfair as “respectable” white residents were responsible for the lion's share of the disorder. This lively account ultimately tells us about more than a particular community's identity. It also sheds light on small-town disaffection and unease with a diminished place in modern Canada. Readers interested in the history of the Canadian West, and in particular crime, social reform, and community history, will find this a fascinating and accessible exploration of the northern BC interior. Jonathan Swainger has been a professor of history at the University of Northern British Columbia since 1992. After eight years teaching in the Peace River region, he relocated to the main campus in Prince George where he has worked since 2001. His research interests are Canadian legal and crime history, and he is particularly interested in crime in the Peace River region from that took place between 1910 to 1960. In this Shop Talk segment I explain how to balance the pulses using acupuncture. We need to return the pulses back to that healthy baseline so that the person can get on with the business of their life .In this talk I'll take you through a basic assessment where we compare the relative strength or size of the pulse to determine excess and deficiency and then use acupressure to key points to determine the effect on the pulse..This can be used as a simple standalone treatment, or as a way to begin a longer treatment. To learn more from Brenda, contact her at: hoodcmcourses@gmail.comBrenda HoodI was born and raised in Peace River, Canada. Then wound up going to China to study Chinese medicine after becoming disillusioned with a degree in psychology. I spent over twenty years there being completely enamored with the medicine and acquiring a few degrees. After returning to North America spent some years teaching Foundations of CM and other basic courses at NUNM. I'm back up in Canada now working on a foundations book to explain the energetic and philosophical bases of the medicine with an eye to using the classics and historical texts as my sources.Clinically, I started out using the TCM system, but I couldn't really get it to work like I thought it should. I stepped out of CM academia and spent a lot of time with “folk practitioners” and cultivators. There are a lot of hidden gems in China though living there and speaking/reading the language was definitely required. The study of CM is endless. This is the medicine of the Heart whose medium is joy. When there is a quiet joy to what you are doing, it reveals a truth and integrity of being.
