Send us a textDefending Truth: Courage, Advocacy, and Understanding Controversy with Douglas MurrayIn this powerful and enlightening conversation on From The Inside Out with Rivkah and Eda, author and advocate Douglas Murray speaks on his unwavering support for Israel and the Jewish people, despite not being Jewish himself. Murray articulates the courage and moral compass that drive his advocacy, rooted in a profound commitment to truth. The dialogue highlights the distinctions between genuine support for Palestinian self-determination and those who simply oppose Israel, referencing the significant divide seen on and after October 7th. Murray provides observations on global antisemitism, historical misrepresentation, and societal projections onto the Jewish state. We discuss complex issues surrounding Gaza, the problematic nature of international peacekeeping, and the moral dilemmas in dealing with terrorism. The discussion delves into personal stories of heroism, educational strategies against antisemitism, and the profound impact of concerted, individual efforts in combating hate. Murray underscores the importance of living deeply, engaging with truth, and fostering resilience through understanding history and personal conviction.EPISODE SPONSORSWRAP TO HEAL AND REVEALWrap to Heal and Reveal is a beautiful initiative providing kosher tefillin to IDF soldiers across Israel. It began during the difficult days when we all prayed for the hostages' return, inspired by the Rebbe's words on the spiritual power of tefillin. G-d knows we need the chizuk! Enjoy!--Hi everyone, welcome back to another episode of The Chai on Life Podcast. Today, we are talking all about Moshiach. It's Cheshvan and on the surface, Cheshvan seems like a chill, catch-up kind of month. The chagim are over, we're back to routine and Cheshvan gives us the time to do so. But is that all Cheshvan is for? Like pretty much all things in Judaism, how things appear on the surface are well, just the surface and there is a whole world of depth underneath. As I was researching more about Cheshvan I learned that it is soooo Moshiach centered. If you learn from the Sefer Yetzirah or the Book of Formation, which you can read about on inner.org, you will learn that the letter of the month, sense of the month, tribe and so much more are all connected to Moshiach. To be honest, Moshiach is something I've struggled with over the years becoming religious and being religious. It's something that I am taught to want, yet also something I don't actually know that much about. So for awhile now, I've been determined to learn more and really understand more and I knew Faigy Blumstein was the perfect person to do so with.Faigy Blumstein does not call herself a lecturer, but someone who loves to share. Her heartfelt approach helps women deepen their connection to Hashem, integrating spirituality into everyday life in a meaningful and modern way.And let me tell you this conversation gets deep. We talk about how she got into Chassidus in the first place, how it can connect you in ways you never could have imagined, what Moshiach even means, how we can all work to bring Moshiach, why Cheshvan is the time reserved for Moshiach, how Israel connects to all of this and so so much more.We also learn about the connection between Cheshvan, Moshiach and Rochel Imeinu. Even where there is a legitimate reason to delay it, one must rely on Hashem, Who is the essence of good and Who oversees every person, each of whom is a “complete world,” with Hashgacha Pratis (as is obvious from the fact that Hashem oversees even the way a leaf rolls over in the street etc.), and one must not interfere chas v'shalom (unless there is a clear halachic ruling permitting it). (2) It says that Rochel will be informed of the Redemption (“Restrain your voice from weeping … and your children will return to their borders”) as a reward for giving the Jewish people the strength, on their way into exile, to endure and to remain spiritually healthy and whole; she is the one who continues to plead with Hashem for the complete Redemption to come speedily in our days, literally.3 excerpts from sichah of 6 Tishrei, 5741 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=02-11-2025 לזכות ר' לוי הלוי בן לאה שי' לרפואה שלימהנדבת משפחתו שי'
ג' חלקים משיחת יום ג' פ' ברכה, וא"ו תשרי ה'תשד"מ ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=30-10-2025 Synopsis A child's education is based on two opposites: On the one hand, the child is instilled with steadfast principles and foundations from which he must never depart, such as (for humanity in general) the principles of justice and uprightness and (for Jews in particular) the steadfast faith in Hashem and His Torah, and the fact that “this Torah will not be changed” etc. On the other hand, the child is instilled with the obligation to constantly grow and ascend in holiness, which is itself a constant foundation. The child must also be trained to recognize that he stands upon a strong foundation, as a son of Avrohom, Yitzchok, and Yaakov, and daughter of Sarah, Rivkah, Rochel, and Leah – the Avos and Imahos of all Jews in all generations. To instill this feeling in children, educators must be a living example and personally conduct themselves accordingly; they must remember that a child notices everything, and does not recognize the difference between something “minor” and something “severe” (even where the Torah recognizes them as such).3 excerpts from sichah of Tuesday, parashas Vezos Habrachah, 6 Tishrei 5744 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=30-10-2025 לזכות ר' לוי הלוי בן לאה שי' לרפואה שלימהנדבת משפחתו שי'

As Long As I'm Living, rebuilding our Happier Ever Afters after infant loss (SIDS)
This week we are continuing our interview with Rochel, the bereaved aunt of sweet Sophie and psychiatric nurse practitioner. In this episode, we talk with Rochel about her other loss experiences (she's sadly an experienced griever) and how she uses writing and other modalities to integrate the losses into her life. We were caught off guard by how emotional this interview with Rochel was. Both of us felt seen and held in our grief in a way we rarely do with those who are not bereaved parents themselves... we hope you feel the same after this time with Rochel. Sending love to Sophie in the stars
As Long As I'm Living, rebuilding our Happier Ever Afters after infant loss (SIDS)
In this episode, we interview Judith's friend Rochel about the complexities of grief, particularly the loss of her niece Sophie. Rochel shares how she continues to build on her relationship with Sophie even after her death, and the ways in which she continues to celebrate her life. You may remember Rochel from a post we shared on our stories a few weeks ago, part of which is shared below with Rochel's permission: "Every year, I throw a party for my niece's birthday. Tomorrow, Sophie would have been 11. My sister once told me that with time and work, grief eventually moves from a constant heart-stabbing cry for what you've lost to an intermittent glow of gratitude for what you were blessed to have. It has taken years for me to be able to access the embodied knowledge that Sophie's transition from this physical plan, was just that - Her death was a shape-shifting..." Parshas Vayeishev: Path to Peace The Parsha Perspective is in honor of Eretz Yisroel. May G-d protect our brave soldiers. May G-d return all the hostages in Gaza immediately. The Parsha Perspective is in loving memory of Edward Ben Efraim, Shlomo Ben Edward, and Yirachmiel Daniel Ben Gedalia. May their souls be uplifted and their memories a blessing. The release date of this episode is Yud-Tes Kislev, celebrated as the Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus. On this day, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the Alter Rebbe and founder of the Chabad movement, was released from imprisonment in Russia—a defining moment in the history of Chassidus. His liberation marked heavenly affirmation for spreading the "inner soul" of Torah to the masses. Yud-Tes Kislev calls us to deepen our connection to the inner dimensions of Torah and spread its light, propelling us toward the ultimate redemption. Click here to listen, watch and connect! Parshaperspective.com Our Parsha begins with Ya'akov Avinu settling in Chevron with his four wives and twelve children. He loved Yosef, the firstborn of his wife Rochel, more than the rest of his children. To show his affection, Ya'akov crafted a unique, multi-colored coat for Yosef—a visible sign of his deep love and favoritism. We find out his intention when he returned to settle in Chevron. We learn the two levels of peace and how they are achieved.
As we know, Yaakov Avinu's love for his wife Rochel knew no bounds. That is why it is so perplexing that he appeared cold and dismissive when she begged him to daven for her. Had any other woman, childless and broken, come to him distraught to the point that she couldn't imagine living without a child, there is no question that he would have davened and cried for her from the depths of his being. Isn't that what tzaddikim have done throughout the centuries? It makes no sense that Yaakov reacted in precisely the opposite way! Unless a precious secret of tefila is buried in this story that is relevant for anyone facing a challenge or in pain. Please share your comments and insights If you seek the Torah's timeless wisdom to assist in navigating your life, check out other helpful episodes on this podcast.

ROSH HASHANA How To Raise Great Children Rosh Hashanah is the Day of Judgment, on which our fate is decided for the upcoming year. An intriguing fact is that among all the requests and needs, the request for children is placed at the center. This is particularly evident in the two Torah Readings and the two Haftorahs on the two days of Rosh Hashanah. While on all the Holidyas we read about the day's themes, Rosh Hashanah stands out as an exception: the reading for the second day does indeed discuss the Akedah which is related to the theme of judgment, but the reading for the first day and both Haftorahs on the two days focus on a personal and intimate theme: parents and children. Since this is the case, we want to delve into the secrets of the two women from the two Haftarot: How does one merit the miracle of having wishes granted as they did? Study Guide Bava Batra 72 Today's daf is sponsored by the Hadran Zoom family. "In these turbulent days, where we lean on our routine of the daily Daf learning for comfort, we are thrilled with the piercing double joy of two of fellow Dafferette's smachot. To Julie Mendelssohn and her family, mazal Tov and joy on the marriage of her son Rafi to his bride, Adi. And to Miriam Tannenbaum and her family, on the marriage of her son Avrumy to his bride, Rochel. With a tefilla that this sasson v'simcha will herald in many more wonderful times. With lots of love from the Hadran Zoom family." After reconciling Rav Huna's ruling (about one who sells a field but keeps two trees) with Rabbi Shimon's position by explaining that Rav Huna aligns with the rabbis and Rabbi Shimon with Rabbi Akiva, the Gemara raises a difficulty from braita. From the braita, which can only be explained according to Rabbi Shimon, it is clear that Rabbi Shimon does not hold that one sells generously, like Rabbi Akiva. Therefore the Gemara explains Rabbi Shimon's position in our Mishna differently - as a response to the rabbis according to their position and is not reflecting Rabbi Shimon's position. However, an additional issue is raised: the last line in the braita doesn't seem to match Rabbi Shimon's position, which undermines the conclusion of the previous section. This issue is resolved and the braita can be explained according to Rabbi Shimon.
