We like to hear stories of Ahavat Yisrael that inspire us, especially when they occur with regular every day people. The Skolener Rebbe was a great Sadik, whole we call a Poel Yeshuot, who brought about wonders, who lived in Boro Park. People would wait, late at night, in lines outside of his house to get blessings from him. I myself was zoche to go a few times. There was once a man on line who didn't quite fit in with the rest of the people in this Hasidic area of Boro Park. He was in jeans and a polo shirt. After some curious looks by the others in line, he finally got in to see the Rebbe and asked for a beracha for Refuah for “Shimon ben Leah.” The gabbai/ rabbis aid wondered about the name- it was his son's name. He thought maybe it was a coincidence, but on the man's way out, the gabbai decided to ask him whom the beracha was for. He explained that he was a counselor in Camp Simcha, a camp for children with a dreaded disease, which is a tremendous example of Ahavat Yisrael run by Rabbi Scholar and Chai Lifeline. It's an unbelievable Hesed machine. Shimon ben Leah was this man's camper. He wanted to give him a gift for his birthday, but he couldn't think of what to get him, a religious, Hasidic boy, that would make him happy. Then he thought of getting the boy a beracha from the Rebbe. So he waited on line to bring the boy a beracha . The gabbai burst out crying. He told the man that Shimon ben Leah was his son! This was a fellow that the people were looking at, wondering if he belongs or if he doesn't. But there is no belonging . It's just just two Jews loving each other, even if they don't know who they are. Just trying to spread Achdut . It's a beautiful story that shows that you never know what's what, or who's helping who. Have a wonderful day.

He has raised nearly 9K so far. In the spirit of adventure, I could not resist the opportunity to log some extra miles as I train for my 70.3 distance triathlons this summer, so I am doing most of the long rides with him this summer. We spend hours on the bike talking about training, getting stronger, faster, nutrition, hydration, health, fitness levels, and lunch stops. Prior to launching his own business, Andrew spent a decade on Wall Street working as an investment banker before transitioning his career toward opening his own management firm. Most recently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrew adopted a brand-new exercise routine, cycling, which, of course, is how we met. On this episode, I sync up with Andrew about entrepreneurship and what inspired him to launch Terrier Capital Management. A performing arts studio for the Orthodox Jewish Community of Los Angeles is in its 16th year.  The foundation for her lifelong love for dance began at age 6. She studied under many of Atlanta's finest dance professionals. She has studied tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, gymnastics and Israeli dance. After receiving a bachelors in psychology, Sheila took her childhood dream and made it a reality by starting her own dance studio in 2000 in Georgia. Moving to LA in2004 she made it her mission to start spreading her love of dance with the community in2004. In 2010 she founded a non for profit Yachad Ballet Ensemble, an opportunity to give back to the community while doing Jewish outreach through dance. Sheila performed in Yachad dances ballets “the spirit of shabbos” and “ the crown of creation”. Sheila takes pride in providing a professional setting for Orthodox Jewish girls to develop skills and perform without having to compromise their values. She enjoys working with her amazing staff and cherishes the relationships with her students and their families.   ABOUT THE COMPANY:  A Time for Dance opened its doors in 2004 with two locations. Setting out to provide professional quality instruction and strong technique classes in a warm and heimish environment. Countless girls and young women have had opportunity to train and perform in an environment that is sensitive to the needs of our community. This year we added a new location in Long Beach. Currently, our studio has five studio locations in addition to onsite school locations around the city. We also offer private in home lessons to many families in LA. Our custom in studio or at home dance/gymnastics birthday parties are a big hit.  We also offer custom choreography for special events. Each summer, our classes have been an important part of many local camps. Our own Summer Arts Experience has provided space for students to advance their skills, giving them a creative outlet for expression. With a well planned enriching curriculum which includes fine arts, culinary arts and performing arts campers spend the summer developing strong skills while having a great time.We also have a  Summer Arts Intensive for teens.   In 2009, we established a non profit dance company “Yachad Dance Ensemble West as a vehicle for Jewish outreach through the arts. Our debut women's performances have touched many and 100% of the proceeds were donated to local organizations.  A Time for Dance has generously given scholarships to families through Coach Art and Chai Lifeline.  A Time for Dance is an integral part of the community and an important part of many young girls lives. Going into our 16th year we wanted to bring more ruach and unity within our dance community. Special holiday dance parties and events helped to bring spirituality into our program and unite or dancers from all parts of the community.  Dance is a universal language and the togetherness that has been created within our community will last forever. It is our mission to bring people together through dance. We are looking forward to the next 16 years of serving our community!   www.atime4dance.com Instagram: @atimefordance   For the FREE download over Chanuka go to: www.franciskamusic.com/free To watch the new music video click here.   For more info and to reach out to Franciska about the Music Production Course click here.

About Chai Lifeline:  Chai Lifeline is an international support network for families battling childhood illness. What started out as a small summer camp for children with cancer has become a huge organization that provides emotional, social and financial support to these children and their families. Chai Lifeline offers year-round programming and the staff and volunteers never stop helping. Chai Lifeline provides meals, both in the hospitals and at home, big brothers/sisters for seriously ill children, family weekend retreats, trips, support groups, bereavement support, parties, financial guidance, after school help for siblings… the list goes on and on. One of the most spectacular aspects of the organization is Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special, where kids can go to a sleep away camp, which is essentially a hospital in disguise. Kids can get their treatments and feel like kids again, while parents get a much-needed break.
