What's the best way to create a work product when you're working on a personal injury case? Laura Keegan, an LNC who brings to her work 28 years of widely varied nursing experience, gives you the answers you need. Her most important piece of advice is: Always ask the attorneys what they want. You'll get a range of responses. Second: You may have your own ideas of how a chronology or summary should be organized, but don't assume you're right. Give the attorneys what they want in terms of organization, detail, and types of comments. Follow these rules, and you will have long and happy relationships with your attorney clients. Laura extensively comments on different types of personal injuries. In addition to vehicular accidents, personal injury may include toxic torts, equipment failures, slips and falls, and other kinds of injuries. She also emphasizes the value of deep investigation of providers named in the report and the importance of reviewing bills. She also emphasizes that, while when you find something injurious to your client's case, you need to present the bad news with tact and care. This is a podcast you don't want to miss. The advice in it will ease any uncertainties about how to give the attorneys what they want. Following these guidelines will help you increase your income. Join me in this episode of Powerful LNC Chronologies - Laura Keegan How do attorneys differ in what they want from chronologies? How do you do a depo summary? Why is an LNC a better choice for a summary or chronology than a paralegal? What shouldn't you put in a chronology or report? How can you interest the client in additional services? It's a new year and the first month is done which means we've got a lot to talk about. I read eight books to kick off 2023 and there were five Hallmark New Year New Movies on TV. Listen now for all my thoughts on The Rom-Com Agenda, The Second You're Single, Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, Courtiers, and the Briar Off-Campus Series by Elle Kennedy. Hallmark didn't start strong in my opinion with A Dog Lover's Guide to Dating, but picked it up with the continuation of The Wedding Veil series with The Wedding Veil Expectations, Inspiration, and Journey. Journey absolutely became my new favorite movie and the storyline to beat. Finally they closed out with Love in Glacier National, which I liked, but it had so many plot holes I'm just confused. Listen now for all the thoughts and lots of laughs!

Windows 10 supports ends On October 14, 2025 according to a Microsoft support document. We're expecting Microsoft to unveil Windows 11 this week, but I gotta say: It's not going to be hard to get me off Windows 10 if Windows 11 promises less ads and less ‘synergy'. Appropos of nothing I bet this article on how to Disable OneDrive will be as useful to you as it is to me.1⃣ Uno Platform 3.8 – New WinUI Calendar, Grid controls, 2x performance, new Linux scenario and more is the tale of a headline that doesn't know what it wants to be when it grows up. Microsoft continues its tradition of parroting Mac by parroting Mac OS X for Windows 11. I'm not even mad. That does look better. Ok, first off, #hugops to the team that had to deal with this outage. Second: You're the #2 cloud provider in the world. You learn that not all of the confederacy surrendered on April 9, 1865, and that some (like Texas) decided to keep on until Union soldiers arrived on their doorstep. Daily Success Strategies - Jeff Heggie Entrepreneur & Coach

Jeff Heggie Daily Success Strategies 296: Become a Confident Athlete https://jeffheggie.com/confidentathlete All of your life you've been taught WHAT TO THINK. It's time you learn HOW TO THINK. You're in charge of your mind. You can help it grow by using it the right way Just learning about the growth mindset can cause a big shift in the way people think about themselves and their lives. John, a collegiate student athlete, shared this when he learned about the fixed mindset and growth mindset: “As a student athlete I had a fixed mindset. Winning was everything and learning did not enter the picture. However, after [learning about fixed and growth mindsets] I realized that I did not have a good mindset. I've been working on learning while I compete, under the realization that if I can continually improve, even in games, I will become a much better athlete.” John's internal monologue use to be: Win. Win. Win. You have to win to prove yourself. Everything depends on winning. Now it's: Observe. Learn. Improve. Become a better athlete. First – You need to learn as much as you can about having a Fixed Mindset and a Growth Mindset. (I've talked about this is other episodes of my Daily Success Strategies podcast. This is also a major focus in my course, High Achievers Mindset Secrets https://mindset.jeffheggie.com/) Second – You need to learn How to Think! Through this effort and combination, you'll be able to figure out what's best for you because you've cracked YOUR code. Don't just do ‘it' because someone told you to. Tim Grover, in his book W1NNING, he says that “it's no coincidence that the greats figure out what works for them, regardless of what everyone else does.” If you're an athlete that is committed to be ready for your next season, you must develop your mental game! Join me in The Confident Athlete Program where you'll discover the secret formula to develop a powerful mindset, extreme confidence, and take your game to the next level! The Caregiver Cup Podcast

Today we're talking about being prepared and proactive in this challenging &crazy life you're living right now.  I want to share my tips based on what has worked for me & what has crashed and burned. You 're juggling work hours, your everyday schedule  plus caring for your Loved One.  Then add the normal every day responsibilities like house chores, meals & errands.Picture this:  My work calendar is online - on my work laptop - on an outlook calendarMy Mom's appointments are on her paper calendar on her bulletin boardMy spouse's appointments are on his phone and through his doctor's app and when he or I remember, they are put on the calendar on our refrigMy business is on my Google calendarThen my personal appointments are on post it notes, in your wallet, maybe the refrig calendar & if I am feeling organized, I add them to the refrig calendar  Can you relate?  Prior to caregiving, I thought I was organized & actually when I was raising my 3 boys, I used to refer to myself as the project master a& knew exactly what was going on at any time.  Times have changed.  I could psycho- analyze myself,  but I believe it takes a heck of a lot of energy, emotions, patience a& time to care for a Loved One.  So in this episode I want to talk about what you can control & what you can do to be as prepared & organized with your time as possible.  Disclaimer here - my way is not always the right way for you.   It took me months  to find what worked for me.  Then, when I got it right, the situation changed again.  You may be saying, why plan & why organize?   Planning is important because it helps you use your time in the most efficient way. You can realistically gauge how much you can get done & how much time you have to do it. That way, you can feel accomplished knowing that you did what you set out to do.When caregiving, you're actually setting expectations for your Loved Ones, keeping your life somewhat organized, & most importantly setting boundaries for yourself & making yourself a priority  Think long &hard on what boundaries you NEED to set for yourself.  You need to put yourself first so you don't stress & burnout.  You are no good to anyone if you can't function physically & emotionally.  So here's a sneak peek into my Sunday's night planning time.  I first grab my favorite beverage & block off 1 hour to plan my week's schedule.    I go into the week feeling much better & have found out that I'm somewhat of a planning nerd now.  Before I share & walk through the steps, I captured everything for you in an easy step by step free document.  Just go to cathylvan.com/sundayplanningLook at all your calendars & put into one calendarIf you are old school, find yourself a nice plannerIf you like electronic,  you can use something like google calendar or i calendarYou now have a visual of what the week holds.  First:  Schedule YOUR time. Second:   You now have to figure out the Caregiving Third:  Then work schedule & commitment  Four:  What other personal obligations or essential responsibilities do I have this weeNow you should be ready to go into your week knowing what is one your schedule.   Obviously you can't control the unexpected.  As a caregiver, you may have to make sacrifices.  But one thing you can't sacrifice is your health & well-being.   You have to recognize the importance of YOU.  Look in the mirror at you & tell yourself that you will take care of her.

Because this time you are not starting from scratch but you are starting from experience.” And the Second “You never regret taking risks, but you will regret not doing that was risky”. You can Hope, for something, plan for something, work for something, but you can never expect something. Three things have been on my mind lately. First - Sometimes things in life may seem to just keep stacking against you. It happens to everyone. The real power is in how you get yourself back on track. Second - You cannot expect things to happen in any certain way. There will be times when something happens so quick you don't feel ready for it, and there will be times you feel like nothing will ever happen. It will, for sure, just keep going. Finally, the biggest lesson I ever learned while performing was to always have something stage-ready. There will come a time when you get a last minute booking. Instead of stressing about throwing something together, you will be prepared and ready to go. For even more tips and tools to turn your audience in to fans, Subscribe to the RockStar Lounge. In our last +1, we talked about the fact that Americans check their phones 8 BILLION times every day. (Wow.)    We also talked about the fact that (at least 5 billion of) those 8 billion checks are essentially kryptonite for the love in your life.   Today I want to talk about some more wisdom from Yuval Noah Harari’s new book, 21 Lessons for the 21st Century.   But first, let’s talk about horses.   I live in a small town in Southern California called Ojai. I’m pretty sure it’s one of the very few places in the world where people ride their horses next to Teslas. (Hah.)   Now, of course, no one in town is getting around primarily via horses, but it’s always fun to see a few people on horseback cruising through town or to see a few horses “parked” outside the local cafe.   So… The other day I saw a fresh horseshoe print on my Trail. For whatever reason, I thought of Elon Musk’s talk to governors.    Note: I pretty much never watch YouTube videos or TED Talks. I read books. Period. (Hah.) But, a good friend of mine (thank you, Michael!) strongly encouraged me to watch this talk. So, I did. And, I’m glad I did. I highly recommend it for a fascinating look at one man’s vision of the future. (Check it out here.)   So… In this discussion, Elon talks about the future of cars. Long story short, he tells us that, at some point in the not-too-distant future, ALL cars will be self-driving. It’s not a question of IF, it’s a question of WHEN.   To make his point, he tells us that just as some people still ride horses for fun, none of us ride horses as a primary means of transportation these days. Likewise, some people will have fun driving a car around in the future, but that won’t be the primary means of transportation in x years.   That, my friends, is what I thought of when I saw a horseshoe print in the dust of my Trail. (Hah.)   Well, that and a passage from Harari’s new book.    In a chapter on “Work” he talks about the HUGE shifts in our global economy that will result from the advances in artificial technology.   He tells us: “The benefits for human society are likely to be immense. AI doctors could provide far better and cheaper healthcare for billions of people, particularly for those who currently receive no healthcare at all. Thanks to learning algorithms and biometric sensors, a poor villager in an underdeveloped country might come to enjoy far better healthcare via her smartphone than the richest person in the world gets today from the most advanced urban hospital.   Similarly, self-driving vehicles could provide people with much better transportation services, and in particular reduce mortality from traffic accidents. Today close to 1.25 million people are killed annually in traffic accidents (twice the number killed by war, crime, and terrorism combined). More than 90 percent of those accidents are caused by human errors: somebody drinking alcohol and driving, somebody texting a message while driving, somebody falling asleep at the wheel, somebody daydreaming instead of paying attention to the road. … Self-driving vehicles will never do any of those things. Though they suffer from their own problems and limitations, and though some accidents are inevitable, replacing all human drivers by computers is expected to reduce deaths and injuries on the road by about 90 percent. In other words, switching to autonomous vehicles is likely to save the lives of one million people every year.   It would therefore be madness to block automation in fields such as transport and healthcare just in order to protect human jobs. After all, what we ultimately ought to protect is humans—not jobs. Displaced drivers and doctors will just have to find something else to do.”   Of course, the long-term economic ramifications of all this are beyond the scope of Today’s +1.    Two things I want to focus on.   First: Let’s take a moment to appreciate just how quickly our world is changing and that a lot of the things we take for granted as the peak of sophistication will be viewed, in the not-so-distant future, as a bit like riding a horse.    Second: You know what Harari tells us is the most important quality for us to cultivate (and to teach our children) to prepare for such a rapidly changing world?    Well, he says that “for every dollar and ever minute we invest in improving artificial intelligence, it would be wise to invest a dollar and a minute in advancing human consciousness.”   In short, we need to Optimize.   Let’s.
