Hello! And,! Welcome,! TO! Fringey mini Wednesday. The episodes where we meet you half way through your week because we miss you... and today! We're talking about Twain, less specifically, contact! With a whale, named Twain! That's right I said contact!!I was really stuck for what to write there, I think that turned out... alright... there's a reason Taylor does the openers... I just don't excel in the fine balance of delightful, obscure and satisfying opening words like he does.Anywho, it's a mini so I think that satisfies the requirements of 1.) vaguely letting you know what the episode is about and 2.) divulging just a little too much 3.) exclamation points! That's the Fringey way, plus all the other secret requirements I can't tell you about.. unless I mixed them up again. This is NOT the article Taylor referenced in the article because I couldn't find that one but this one will work if you need more info. 1990s Pacific Northwest radio icon Dr. Frasier Crane is back, but is the new Boston-set reboot of Frasier really listening to what viewers want? We'll share some of our favorite classic Frasiers and compare them to the new Paramount+ reboot (which, like the sherry at a Bean Town bar, we found… questionable). But first! Chris shares his love of CNN Max (he's aware this makes him a middle aged man now, thanks for asking!) The Daily Show announces more guest hosts (including some returning favorites!) Dianne learns the difference between Space Whales and Earth Whales (it's a sci-fi thing!) Price hikes at both Netflix and Disney+ leave Chris and Dianne wondering how much spaceships and comic books are really worth these days… …and it turns out Marvel is asking itself the same thing?? We'll explain! ———

Another Star Wars limited series season has come to a close. The greatly-anticipated Ahsoka is now in the books. Or on the screen, as it were. What did The Guys think about it? Did it stand up to Andor? To Obi-Wan? To the Mandalorians? It seems that is yet to be determined. Okay, they do have opinions and those opinions vary. There were some great moments and there were some that maybe could have been left on the proverbial cutting-room floor. And a few others added in their place. Or maybe it's just because Jay and Art didn't watch the 29+ episodes of Clone Wars and Rebels that would've helped them understand. Listen to see what The Guys think, then feel free to form your own opinions! Meanwhile, we hear about what Captain Picard is writing about these days, where Disney is letting some of those other Star Wars properties loose on - gasp - “free” channels, and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to embrace your inner ogre.

The Mandalorian has returned and so have we! Colleen, Anders and Daniel are here to break down the Season 3 premiere of the Disney+ Star Wars series: The Mandalorian! We have fun with this table-setting episode and Daniel's Anzellan accent is on point throughout! We look at all of the characters and where we check in with them, do the Leo-pointing meme for some Space Whales and try to predict how quickly the Armorer can rebuild her culvert...again.www.bohemiangeekstudies.comwww.forgottenentertainment.com

The kids ask the questions this time. These longtime Burners have participated in BRC most of their young lives. 6-year-old Teapot offers sage advice on the radio. Teen brothers Atticus and Colby interview deep-rooted DPW adults: Coyote is the city superintendent of BRC, and author of the book, Built to Burn: Tales of the Desert Carnies of Burning Man. Melissa Waters is an office administrator and a wellness educator for Burning Man Project.Atticus and Colby are their sons. Who better to ask about families at BRC. We also hear from Abby Ehmann, aka StAbby, a longtime DPW Manager and Tamsin Hull, a DPW Volunteer and creative ceramics artist. They talk about interactive art, smart art, playa names, and serendipity. It's cool. The episode ends strong with little kids on the radio at BRC. They share stories of Kidsville, a lemonade stand, and choosing to be an angel, not a dragon. Hear the curiosity and the cuteness, and the occasional awkward transition… like childhood… BRC is for everyone. The man, the myth, the legend: Nick Hinton, takes us on a journey through his last two years on the road. As an author, philosopher, and man of many gifts, Nick has come across some of the coolest and craziest experiences I think anyone can encounter. Whether its touring and exploring the Rockefeller house, picking up worms from the sidewalk (you'll have to listen to hear that one), or researching space whales, Nick's the man for the job.
